Three gash scars go down her back diagonally, and she also has a minor scar on her cheekbone. There is a tattoo of a pack of Loth wolves on her left hip and another -slightly- diagonal scar on her right ribcage. She has fiery red hair. However, it is unlikely anyone would see her out of her armor as the Resol'nare dictates that it is practically a second skin. Personality Profile Kyram has a nearly endless amount of determination to get something done, yet usually comes off as cold and calculated towards strangers. This can change rather quickly however, as she has a rather fiery personality at her center and will go into full kick ass mode if provoked. It's not just enough for her to pull a victory, but she must beat her opponent at -everything- they might think they're good at. Often, this leads to her not being able to let things go and fights can quickly escalate to dangerous heights if the other person does not back down. Because of this, a number of people attribute her emotional aggression towards a lack of intelligence when the opposite could not be truer. Kyram is perhaps one of the most cunning in her race, proven time and again by her ability to outmaneuver a variety of opponents and plan her strikes with great forethought (see backstory). Outside of her professional career though, she is a dedicated and loyal member of the Mando'ade. Her duty as a daughter and as a representative of the Resol'nare at large is taken with the upmost seriousness. She personally holds a disdain towards slave owners because of her family's history, even to the point of challenging other Mandalorians who practice the archaic way. Friends and loved ones are held in great esteem, but will likely never hear her vocalized affection for them due to her guarded personality. However, there is no question that she would go to any length to protect them. She also carries a peculiar sense of ethical behavior and opinions about honor. For example, Kyram will not kill unarmed women and children unless her bounty specifically says to, because there is no morality involved in a job (though she is unlikely to take this sort of mission). A good allegory would be a public attorney who must defend someone they know is guilty; he does it not because he thinks the person is innocent, he does it because it's his job. In terms of honor, Kyram will not give up the element of surprise as it is an effective and widely employed method of war. Giving up stealth would be like giving up guns. Though, she is certainly not above going toe to toe on an even playing field if the moment were to arise. Background Father • Mrandis Desh'ar, Mandalorian Shocktrooper (Deceased) Mother • Myra Di'nui, Mandalorian Commando (Deceased) Siblings • None Other Important Connections • - Contacts in the Bounty Hunters' Guild and Outer Rim territories - Imperial and neutral employers - Mando'ade of various clans Overall History • ≪ Lineage ≫ The Desh’ar Clan hails from humble beginnings. They were once a group of human slaves on Tatooine during the days of the Mandalorian Wars and Mandalore the Ultimate. For countless generations, this slave group had been owned by a wealthy family of human moisture farmers who had colonized the planet in 7,000 BBY. Throughout the centuries, the slave masters selectively bred their workers. Notably, they also paid special attention to the nutrition and bodily health of the slaves. This set them apart from the majority of the planet’s peasants, and as a result, the primitive Desh’ar line became stronger with each generation. In 3976 BBY, a collection of the Desh’ar slaves were taken to Althir III. Incidentally, this planet was the site of the first battle in the Mandalorian Wars. Not long after the slaves’ arrival, the Neo-Crusaders attacked the planet. Inspired by the Mandalorians’ savagery and prowess in combat, the slave group revolted against their master in the chaos, killing him with overwhelming strength and numbers. Having freed themselves, they sought out the crusaders and became some of the first humans to be adopted into Mandalorian culture. They fought in the rest of the war valiantly; small, but endlessly vigorous in the determination they had gained in their freedom. Following the end of the Mandalorian Wars, the Desh’ar group became a family based clan and retreated to the Outer Rim after the destruction of Malachor V in 3960 BBY. They mainly settled on Mandalore, but interstellar raids and expeditions were very common. Though still small, Mandalorians from other families and backgrounds, both on Mandalore and in the reaches of space, married into the clan with each generation. As well, a number of the original slaves returned to Tatooine (a site of great heritage significance to them) to liberate the rest of their people. Most of the slaves were freed and assimilated into the clan, and a majority of the family members who had owned the Desh’ars were killed. However, a few of them escaped with the remainder of their meager workforce. By 3950 BBY, the clan had grown to numbers in the dozens. However, the Desh’ars still remained relatively small and never became as large as House Ordo, Skirata, or Vizsla. ≪ Childhood ≫ Bo-Kyram was born on Mandalore in 3619 BBY to Mrandis Desh’ar and Myra Di’nui, who was a commando from House Vizsla. Her name is a unisex derivative from the word, “kyramla,” which is Mando’a for deadly or lethal. From a young age, the girl showed a fondness for rambunctiousness and face to face fighting. She was constantly quick to anger, but established deep emotional connections to those around her. Though she participated in game hunts from an early age, her parents began training Kyram in survival and marksmanship when she was eight years old. For the next five years, the girl prepared for the Mandalorian rite of passage known as Verd’goten. She underwent rigorous experience in a number of different environments, and her physicality was greatly developed through practice of martial arts. As well, she became quite the avid shooter from a young age, both in combative and competition stances. Very early on, she learned blaster mechanics and customization, growing quite fond of weapon parts and accessories. ≪ Teenage Years ≫ When Kyram became thirteen, she underwent the Verd’goten. For her particular trial, she was dropped off on the moon of Dxun, an inhospitable jungle world that was filled with predatory beasts, and was the former headquarters of Mandalore the Ultimate. Kyram was to survive for two weeks, alone, armed with only a dilapidated carbine and a vibroknife. To note, many of the clansmen protested Mrandis’ choice of Verd’goten, citing that the challenge was too great for one as young as her. However, both Mrandis and his daughter ignored the outcries and she continued with her trial as planned. On Kyram’s first night, she began hunting a Gharzr for food, a process that would take two days and two nights to complete. Early on, the animal caught wind of its stalker, and in truth, the two ended up hunting each other. Kyram quickly learned a multitude of stealth techniques and honed her senses to detect her prey’s surprising aptitude for counterattack. When the two days and two nights concluded however, the Mandalorian child claimed victory with a snap shot to the head. The remainder of Kyram’s Verd’goten was relatively uneventful, except for her final three days. Due to an accidental cut she had sustained from her vibroknife, an underdeveloped Zakkeg caught the scent of her blood and attacked her camp. Caught off guard, Kyram sustained a heavy slash on her back as she rolled away from her shelter. Within seconds, her makeshift home was destroyed. Her carbine rifle failed to penetrate the beast’s armor, but she landed a clean shot to the eye. Though the Zakkeg was momentarily distracted from the pain, the carbine’s tibana gas chamber had been spent. The beast soon recovered and charged at Kyram. In a last ditch effort, the child pulled her vibroknife and plunged it deep into the Zakkeg’s neck. She had won, but at the same time, she was heavily injured, and her camp was destroyed. As well, the blood and the dead carcass were bound to draw more predators. Working quickly, Kyram took a horn as a trophy and then dressed her wound with nearby ferns, as well as rope she had made from dead plant fiber. The final three days of her Verd’goten were spent sleeping in foxholes, covered in leaves for camouflage. Following the end of the Verd’goten, Kyram was welcomed back to Clan Desh’ar as a celebrated adult. Not only was she an equal to her elder peers within Mandalorian culture, but she had been blooded as a huntress, thanks to the Zakkeg trophy and the scar she bore. Though her desire to hunt would certainly follow her throughout life, it was required that she begin learning special combat skills. Another five years of her life were spent in infantry and critical skills training. Among these skills, piloting, jetpack maneuvering, advanced hand to hand combat, gadgetry, and reconnaissance were included. As well, she learned CQC and knife techniques from a plethora of adult relatives. This exposed her to a multitude of opponents and forced her to adapt to different strategies. However, she also spent plenty of time carrying out traditional trophy hunts with the rest of her clan. By the age of 18, she had qualified as a commando and was designated a Mandalorian kyramud (assassin), the more formal term for a hunter. By this time, she had also crafted her first set of beskar’gam. Forging the armor was a spiritual experience for her, and she molded it with pride. It had been colored red, in honor of her parents, and silver, a reflection on the life she had yet to fill with meaning. The belt, as well as pieces of the armor plating, had empty slots for future trophies to be placed. ≪ Adulthood ≫ Kyram did not wait long to put her skills to use. As soon as she procured her own ship, the young woman set out to make her mark on the galaxy. She quickly made ties with the Hutt Cartel without directly working for them, but the relationship proved to be lucrative for both sides throughout the years. Her closer ties were reserved for the Bounty Hunters’ Guild, which was an even more beneficial partnership. Before long, Kyram had racked up a sizable portfolio of captured and eliminated targets. However, she never strayed from her clan or her Mandalorian heritage. Every second of her life was spent in strict observance to the Resol’nare, and she often served time in Desh’ar incursions. No matter where she went, she was always a dutiful daughter and a proud Mandalorian. At the age of 20, already having established herself as an up-and-coming bounty hunter, Kyram embarked on a pilgrimage to Tatooine. The desert planet had become a place of spirituality to the Desh’ar clan, due to its ties with the family’s slave origins. On this particular pilgrimage, the young woman spent an entire month tracking and hunting a fabled krayt dragon. Her hunt was successful, but the dragon fought violently. One of its slashes managed to gash Kyram’s helmet as she moved away, and despite the durability of beskar, the claws managed to cut through. If she had been a second slower, she would have lost her head (link). During her excursion, a rival clan, supposedly helped by a group of bounty hunters, attacked a friendly settlement on Mandalore where her mother, Myra, was staying. Myra defended herself and the settlers valiantly, but was ultimately killed in the fight. At the same time, Kyram’s father was on a raid, and his party was unlucky enough to run into a Jedi. Mrandis was killed in action. When news reached Kyram, she was devastated. Her grief quickly turned to anger, and she shut herself away from the rest of her clan as she set out to create a new set of beskar’gam. Rage was consistently present in the entire process, and her outlook of the galaxy changed as she worked. The Mandalorian smelted down the iron from her parents’ armor, as well as her own, to forge a new, composite set; that way, her parents would always be with her. They would see her journeys from their place in the Manda. After a month of nonstop work, Kyram finished. Her new armor relatively kept the same trophy design as the original, but the plating was slightly thinner to allow for extra maneuverability and had less weight. Its red coloration had a new level of meaning in regards to honoring her parents, but the silver trims were a thing of the past. The young woman had found meaning to fill her life’s purpose, and her gold paint showed that. She was out for vengeance. Her father having been killed by a Jedi, and her mother slain by rival Mandalorians, Kyram developed a hatred towards the Republic and a mistrust for most of the galaxy. The remaining ⅓ of the beskar was to be allocated for anyone she might come to trust and she kept it in storage. Soon after, Kyram discovered the rival clan to be Clan Varad. For the next three years, she dismantled the clan with the help of her own, systematically hunting down and killing key members. A number of them were captured and tortured for days, only killed when they gave up the names of the bounty hunters involved in the settlement attack. By the end of her wrathful scourge, Clan Varad had been so utterly destroyed that their remaining members did not even have access to Beskar’gam and they were forced into a nomadic lifestyle. Their pitiful state remained that way for years to come. The Bounty Hunters’ Guild lost a chunk of its mercenaries to her crusade, but its relationship with Kyram eventually healed. Over the course of the next four years, with no more war to fight, she continued with her bounty work and collected a number of trophies across the galaxy. Her most prized momentos included a Yaka shoulderguard, and an octogonal piece of technology taken from an Umbaran shadow assassin. However, her trophy room is currently full of treasures. |
