Kilia Tharen Full Name • Kilia Konstantina Tharen Nickname • "Kil", "Kils", "Ili", "Ilia" ["Ili" is preferred; nicknames preferred, as a whole, only with close friends and family] Race • Human Birthplace • Coronet City, Corellia Age • 25 Gender • Female Sexuality • Hetero Faction • Jedi Concept • Knight, Shadow Languages • Basic Assets • Kilia belongs to a Corellian Jedi family, so there is family wealth, but it is communal and no one person has access to all of it. She's been trained to consider it only in times of great need - which she hasn't ever encountered as of yet. Personally, she lives like any other Jedi and doesn't own anything except the clothes on her back and the double-bladed lightsaber at her hip (which she inherited from her grandfather, and is named 'Konstant'. It's essentially a family heirloom). Appearance Face Claim • Asima Sefic Height & Weight • 5'2", 130 lbs. Overall Looks • Kilia is quite the beauty in her own right - petite in stature and "athletically curvy". She has strawberry-blond hair that has taken a more distinctive reddish hue the older she's become; with her bright green eyes and dimpled smile, she's been known to turn a few heads. For the most part, however, Kilia remains oblivious to her good looks, mostly because of her freckles. They are the bane of any potential vanity Kilia would otherwise have - her pale skin is generously marked by them, particularly along her cheeks, nose, and forehead. Kilia dresses simply, as any Jedi would. However, as a Corellian Jedi, her outer tunic is a kelley green, and her inner tunic and robe are a deep forest green. Kilia wears the "Green Jedi" colors with great pride, as the newest member of a long-standing family "legacy" that has served the Jedi. Personality Profile Kilia is a classic INFJ - introverted, intuitive, in-tune with her gut feelings, and deeply analytical. She's deeply empathic, which had once led her to consider being a healer, until she realized that anatomy and physiology held no interest for her, much less any of the Force-related aspects of the discipline. Kilia is quiet, preferring to hang back and observe a situation, before interjecting herself into it. She likes being around others, but greatly enjoys her own company. She's warm and friendly, preferring to think the best of all beings until proven otherwise, but she has a small circle of friends, preferring deep and lasting friendships to more superficial ones. The young Jedi loves learning and has always had an affinity for the more mystical arts of the Force. She definitely fits well into the "Consular" class, faring far better at diplomacy, than at fighting. Kilia is far more prone to rely on mediation to solve problems, than she is on her lightsaber. Her excels most especially in the Sense-related Force powers, like Force Empathy, Telepathy, and Psychometry. If forced into a fight, Kilia will usually heavily augment her lightsaber skills with those of the Force, like Force Push, Force Deflection, and the like. As a Jedi, Kilia's highest goal is to become the Order's Caretaker of First Knowledge...or, at the very least, Chief Librarian. She is fascinated by Jedi lore and history - even archaeology. Given these interests, Kilia could be mistaken for being book-ish, but while she is reserved as a general rule, she has quite the adventurous streak and loves visiting new places, exploring old ruins, and interacting with new cultures. Background Father • Kael Tharen, 50, CorSec Inspector (Smuggling Interdiction Division) Mother • Marina Tharen, 53, Professor of Alien Religions, Corellia University Siblings • N/A Other Important Connections •

She is the first Force Sensitive child to be born to the Tharen family for a generation (before her grandfather, there hadn't been a Jedi in the family for almost four generations). This was the cause of considerable celebration and Kilia was willingly given to the Order by her parents when she was just barely a toddler. However, coming from a Corellian family and a Corellian interpretation of the Order's beliefs, Kilia was able to keep fairly strong ties to her family through her grandfather, Master Korbin Tharen, who visited her at the Temple from time to time. When she came of age to be a Padawan, she was chosen by a Corellian master, Lindri Lucdane, thus ensuring that the young Corellian was trained as a Green Jedi, with loyalties to both the Order, and to her home system's distinct sub-sect of the Jedi. Born in 3617, Kilia has never really known a galaxy that wasn't at war, or on the brink of war. She was ten when war broke out between the Republic and the resurrected Sith Order. Her Padawan years were largely spent in diplomatic roles, in support of the continuing war effort, with the occasional ultra-secret mission to track down Jedi artifacts that would aid the Jedi involvement in the war, or to destroy Sith holocrons that would hinder any Republic progress, as necessary. Both Kilia's former master and her grandfather were killed in the Battle of Coruscant. At 22, Kilia was at an age to take her Jedi Trials; in preparation for that, she had been sent to Nar Shaddaa to hunt a down a Sith artifact that the Order believed could be weaponized (see A Crash Course In Owing Debts for the start of this plot arc), so she wasn't at Coruscant when the battle took place. Her mission turned undercover and she didn't find out about her grandfather or master's loss until about six months after the battle had taken place. Grief-stricken, she initially struggled with a passing temptation toward the Dark Side; this struggle, in addition to her time spent undercover in Mandalorian space and her subsequent destruction of the Sith artifact on Dxun, were counted as successful completion of all five Trials. The three years since then has gone a long way in healing most of the pain of Kilia's loss (her grandfather's loss hit her particularly hard), though she struggles with a tiny seed of resentment and survivor's guilt. Her training and Knighting aside, Kilia knows that the years since the Battle of Coruscant have carried a tenuous peace at best. There have been strange disturbances in the Force recently, and Kilia faces a time of great uncertainty for both her, the Jedi Order, and the Galaxy at large... |
