The Galactic Arena is Prazhi’s newest addition to the burgeoning entertainment district in the capital city of Soldon. The arena, completed after years of construction that began after the Peace of Prazhi ended the Sith-Republic War, is a domed monolith that stands out within the city’s glittering skyline.
The Arena contains multiple smaller arenas for small-time fights or training purposes. The main combat floor is much larger, with seating for thousands of people to watch the matches. A state-of-the-art technology system can replicate just about any condition on the arena floor, while invisible energy barriers allow the audience to watch — and hear — the action from safe, climate-controlled comfort. Numerous cameras scattered about the combat floor afford spectators an up-close view, no matter where they sit.
Betting on matches is accepted and highly encouraged. In addition to the day-to-day matches, the arena will occasionally host grand tournaments that draw combatants from across the Galaxy.
One-on-one duels are the main attraction in the Galactic Arena, but they’re not the only one. Combatants may also fight in small groups, or a lone combatant can face multiple foes. Some bouts even see fighters going up against dangerous wildlife from across the Galaxy.
To act as a civilized arena for a civilized planet, the Galactic Arena is entirely non-lethal. To ensure this, every combatant is fitted with what has become known as a "cybersuit", a full-body suit spanning from chin to toes. Worn beneath all clothing, this suit of sensors responds to the arena's holograms, simulating sensations such as blaster bolts, saber blades, and even environmental hazards with just enough intensity to avoid injury. The cybersuits can also adopt extreme charges for a time, simulating the forces their users are subjected to from the holographic world around them.
Additionally, every combatant forgoes their actual blades and ammo for holographic replacements, keeping their actual weapons and armor for accuracy. With this holographic system, the Galactic Arena keeps fights as accurate to the methods and equipment of their combatants as possible.
The arena is the one place on Prazhi where combat between representatives of the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire — including the Jedi and Sith orders — are allowed. Security, armed with sonic weaponry, is bolstered significantly when members of the opposing orders clash on the arena floor. Any attempts to carry on a battle after its conclusion are dealt with quickly and decisively and can see the perpetrator banned from the arena, and potentially Prazhi itself.
