(optional, delete if unused) Height & Weight • 5'7, 193 lbs Overall Looks • Laid back in nature, Virti usually walks with a swagger common to those confident in their skills. Normally found sporting some sort of bandana and simple clothing. It is rare to find this Twi’lek without his trademarked toothpicks. Personality Profile A seemingly carefree individual, Virti has been known to wear his heart on his shoulder. While exceptionally skilled in his chosen fields, he is often perceived as quite melancholic and silly. Whether or not that is an intentional mask he wears, comes down to individual perspective. Happy accidents seem to happen around the man constantly in dangerous situations, making it seem like he has a high degree of unseen luck. But the more skilled eyes have been looking at him a bit harder in those circumstances and are beginning to think that his lucky streaks may actually be coordinated sleight of hand for the benefit of those who wish him harm. This trait is indicative of exceptional intelligence and tactical comprehension. But to know the man, most eventually find such notions ludicrous. Virti is a tinkerer, pilot and businessman by nature, but doesn’t seem to be bothered by the occasional scrap, given the nature of his business. He tends to come up with off the wall gadgets and has a penchant for the absent-minded workings of a genius inventor, which subsequently comes with the territory of having a minor case of obsessive compulsive disorder lending to a maddening need for symmetry and organization. Sadly, none of his inventions have taken off or proven useful in any great way to the galaxy as a whole, though he has been marginally successful in the private sector. Virti is a man who goes where the wind directs his galactic sails, and tends to stay out of politics as a rule. He’s done business with all groups, but demands at the very least that any cargo he hauls is legally marked so as not to attract law enforcement. Ultimately, he has no current vested interest in any side of galactic conflict. Background Father • Unknown (Orphaned) Mother • Unknown Other Important Connections • Lidah Faine (Customer Contact), Kailani Quix (Customer Contact) Sith Lord Inrok’eele’nuruodo (Customer Contact) Overall History • Virti Leshahn was orphaned as a young child. He’d never known his family and bounced from house to house in a bad part of town, through government regulated foster care. As such, he grew up having to learn how to fend for himself and quickly learned the value of hard work. His was a struggle of survival, and as only one of a paltry number of Twi’lek’s on a mostly human dominated world, Virti typically felt like an outsider. It was lucky for him then, that most sentient beings found him amusing, and if not so much a comedian by nature, they at least tolerated him in their midst. Leshahn was everyone’s friend and a well known face in his neighborhood. Even if he kept most people at an emotional arms length due to mistrust, the Twi’lek always had a grin on his face. While people generally liked him, Virti found his only real creature comfort in building or fixing things. The workings of electronics made sense to him on a level that some might call spiritual. He understood parts and wires in a way that a doctor knows anatomy. So it came to be that one day, a fourteen year old Virti had been strolling past a used landspeeder dealer and heard the sputtering cry of a seized engine coil. The young boy strolled into the shop and pointed the issue out to the struggling mechanic (the number two turbine had something caught between it’s louver and housing), who promptly fixed the blockage and engaged Virti in shop talk. When asked how he’d known it was the number 2, Virti had simply said, “She told me so.” Again, the mechanic prompted for who exactly “she” was. Virti pointed to the engine and shrugged. It wasn’t long after, that the mechanic spoke with the owner of the dealership and inevitably hired Virti on as an apprentice. He did good work in the maintenance shop, restoring vehicles to near pristine condition, from a point where most would give up and simply scrap them. The owner eventually grew more ambitious and decided to go into the used ship business as well. His holdings were miniscule, but when Virti started getting his hands on the wrecks that the owner had started with, business began to flow. Together, they were able to purchase derelict or repossessed ships from the local government at a fraction of cost, fix them up to be good as new, and sell them off for a heap of credits. Few of those credits ever made it back to Virti himself, a fact that was pushing him further and further away from his employer, until the day that he had finished working on a beat up Mon Calamari freighter. The freighter was nothing special to look at, but for some reason, 19 year old Virti had taken a shine to it. He’d put extra work into the restoration and had for some reason, been allowed to go way over budget in obtaining replacement parts for this ship. When he’d finished, Virti marched into his business mentor’s office to report, but came up short when said mentor met him at the door and pointed him back to the freighter. Over the years, Virti had helped him build a small empire. They’d moved from landspeeders on up to brand new starships and had made a mountain of money. It was no secret that while Virti knew Deralia was home, he’d never felt comfortable on the ground. He’d only felt free in the air, while test flying the ships that he’d restored. And so his manager had sold his business and reputation for quality, and effectively gifted Virti with the freedom to do whatever he wanted. He was so grateful in fact, that he even gave Virti a retroactive raise for years of outstanding service, which amounted to a substantial amount of cash that would enable Virti to cover fuel and provisions for his new vessel for a few months at least. So Virti parted ways with his mentor and decided to start a business for himself. He began advertising all over his home system as a one stop shop for any logistical freight needs that could arise. He could repair, restore, or build anyone just about anything for the right price, and could now also haul their cargo from one system to the next at reasonable rates and in record time. Given the unseen dangers of the great blackness of space, what with it being so rich with pirates and dangers - and seeing that a freighter was better suited between two people to be operated at full efficiency, Virti made a business call and decided to bring in a partner. Naturally, that meant he built one. He’d acquired the droid chassis for an old, late model HK-53 through some happy customers, and built himself a business partner and co-pilot. Since then, he has been plying his services for anyone who has need, whether it be transportation of goods, passengers, or use of his mechanical acumen. |
