Appearance Face Claim • Evangeline Lilly Height & Weight • 5'11" 147 lbs Overall Looks • Attractive and exotic, with a smile that could cut through butter like a hot knife, this is what many of her acquaintances would describe Anya Bralor. However beneath the attractive appearance there is a warrior forged by a lifetime of intense training. It is under her garb that a tall, athletic and svelte body can be appreciated. Shiny black hair flows from the top of her head to her shoulders, which she either allows to flow loose or she ties into pony tale. Her olive colored skin is almost flawless, save for the scars on her left shoulder and above the deltoid in her right arm. Her eyes are a shade of grey-green, which transmit her usual confidence. In terms of apparel, during battle or missions she dons her own beskar'gam, which bore black and grey colors on it's plates. The armor itself was made out of an alloy of Durasteel and beskar, thus creating thin, relatively light, plates that would protect her. Beneath the plates her undersuit is black, armorweave laced between fibers for added protection. A combat knife is strapped to her left boot. Outside her personal beskar'gam she wears boots, trousers, a tank top and a jacket for her personal comfort. Personality Profile A confident and quick-witted woman is what many would gather from their first meeting with Anya. Her generally easy going, teasing attitude stands out as it is a counter of the general image those foreign to the warrior culture of Mandalore as bloodthirsty, finger happy individuals that just want to shoot down everything and everyone on sight. Although she would admit that one of the greatest joys of her life is either flying her ship or being in the heat of battle. Exhibiting a sarcastic, sardonic sense of humor during a mission or battle, she knows when to keep quiet depending on the situation at hand. Utterly professional and disciplined, she endeavors to complete every assignment given to her. Her confidence on her abilities is palpable, as during her younger years she had no problem on commenting her skills as a sniper as prodigious. Although the hubris of youth has washed away, Anya still has no problem saying she's one of the best sharpshooters anyone could find or hire. She sees with a mocking contempt the soldiers of the Republic or even those of the Sith Empire, generally seeing them as incompetent idiots. Although she will change her opinion on those that prove themselves in battle. Spending time with her family and close friends is something she greatly enjoys, even if there's no blood bond between them, their warmth and love is something she yearns after being out on a mission or a job, being close with each member of her family, including her droid, T7. That being said she's often away due her past line of work and now service with Mandalorian armies. Like a good Bralor, she loves to fly, another aspect in which she excels. Protective of her own ship after making it her own, she doesn't allow anyone to fly it, except on the most dire of situations. Obsessive with the performance of her gear, the Mandalorian maintains her equipment after each mission or battle, making sure each weapon and her armor works as it is supposed to. This same behavior extends to her ship. Born on Brental IV to Uray and Lassa Todo, a Kiffar mechanic and a human Hacker. Her father had made his living by owning a speeder and ship repairing business under the auspices of a crimelord in Brental IV whilst her mother worked as a slicer, creating falsified documents. It was due this shady connections that the pair eventually met with Paduk and Jahena Bralor, two Mandalorians that hid their identity, using their abilities now as hired guns. Soon would the two couples strike a close friendship and for a time things were good. The crime empire was flourishing and life was stable. However things began to go awry when another rival gang installed itself on Brental IV. A turf war began in the slums of the cities. Fearing for their life and that of his newly born daughter, Uray would reach to Paduk and Jahena, pleading them to take care of their daughter if something ever happened to he or his wife. As fate would have it, that very same fear would turn a reality as days later, Uray's workshop was bombed. Paduk and Jahena looked through the burning debris, finding only scrap and corpses. Going to their friends home, the pair of Mandalorians would fine the baby being tended by a droid and were in relief. But now they a promise to fulfill. Seeing that the turf war was going badly for their employer, they decided to leave Brental IV and go back to Concord Dawn, and settle down with Jehena's family, thus they would take the girl with them and adopting her in the process, making her a Bralor and a part of the clan. Reveille By the time she was able to stand, the education as a warrior began. Padusk and Jehena's attention was placed on their adopted daughter. While Paduk often found himself taking jobs with the other men and women of the farm, that led him out of Mandalore for a long time, Jehena would teach her beginning with the Resol'nare, slowly plating the ideals of the Mandalorian people and the culture unto the child's mind. In fact she would learn Mandalorian before even learning basic. Although at first the girl struggled with the concept of training, she would soon begin to grasp and take the lessons to heart. By the time she was nine, she could effectively hold a blaster rifle and shoot it, controlling the recoil of the weapon. As she grew, her skills expanded and with tme she could do basic wound treatment on the field and march without complaint for hours. In fact, while Anya knew that she was not a natural born daughter of the couple, the time they took to train her was one that she enjoyed dearly, and would not object. As more lessons were taught and assimilated, the training became more rigorous, as she would often train from dawn to dusk. There were even segments of her training in which she would spend time alone in the wilderness of Mandalore as a test of her survival skills in which she would have to live from the land and hunt her own meals. All this was to harden her and to prepare the girl to be a warrior. However as time advanced for both of her parents, it became obvious that she had developed a knack for ranged weapons through training. In time her mother would begin to teach her how to fly, something for which the Bralor were known as well, which after several lessons Anya was able to do with little help and after some months, even do alone. As weeks became months and months would become years, they knew that the time for her Verd'goten was closing in. Verd'goten The last months before her thirteenth birthday were marked by the intensity of the training. All that she had learned was tested again and again in order to polish whatever skills she was less skilled in could hinder her through when she began her Verd'goten. No day was wasted during those leading months and in the final weeks her father would spend time with her in constant practice, giving constructive criticism, making sure that she was ready to prove that her training had not being in vain. Overwhelmed by this, and faced with the fear of failing the ancient tradition of the Mandalorian, she found comfort on his adoptive father, Paduk, after he had returned from a job. It was after his caring words that she felt more confident in her skills and was sure that with the training she had being given, there was no way that she could not successfully complete her rite of passage and thus become a more active member of the clan and the Mandalorian society. On the day she turned thirteen, Anya was anxious, seeing that her mother, father and brother and some of the clan that lived in the Farm or nearby attended to oversee the testing of her skills and deem her ready to become a full-fledged Mandalorian. Testing her abilities with weapons, survival and even flying a ship through an asteroid field under the careful observance of her clan mates that in the end noted her skills and all that she had learned under the tutelage of her parents. With that and after she had demonstrated, the relatives would consider her one of their peers, an adult, and shared a toast with Anya. With the behest of her parents, the armorer of the compound crafted a Beskar'gam tailored for her. Light yet strong enough to allow survival during a heated skirmish. It would not be long for her to join her family and the rest of the warriors of the small band from the farm in several missions as they were hired as mercenaries across the outer rim. It would be under this missions in which she would kill her first sentient being. It was during one firefight as band of professional warriors assaulted a compound. After the band would place the explosives on the entrance and it's blossoming fire opened a breach from where the group could advance, they were received by a hail of blaster rifle. But even despite their best attempts, it was only going to slow the inevitable. During the chaos of combat, the girl had kept her head cool. Raising her blaster rifle, creating suppressive fire along with the rest, she would take cover behind a downed and crumbled pillar. Took aim and pull the trigger once, the red bold flying and hitting a Duro that fired upon the group right between his red eyes. With time her skills with the group were recognized, her cool mentality during combat and the precision of the shots, as such she found a niche as the sniper of the group, proving herself to be able to take targets at long distance with the same she had while fighting during a heated firefight. Although at first she slightly resented being away from the fray on most times, she would begin to enjoy shooting from a distance, usually comparing such action as a form of artistry that not many truly mastered. On her downtime, returning to Mandalore and the farm, she would ponder about her life. Anya had being aware for a long time about her adoption, and while Jehana and Paduk had given their love on her upbringing and teaching about their way of life. Still a part of her would wonder about her birth parents, even as they were a distant shadow that she had never truly met aside from accounts from her adoptive parents. However the times in which she would ponder about the life she could have had were minimal, as she would turn and see her family, and those that were part of the band from the Farm, and she could not see herself having another life. This was the life that she wanted. However as it turns out, not all is happiness for even professional soldiers are not devoid from treachery or deceit, as life and destiny find a way to turn the most happy of circumstances into painful memories. Captured The contract was a simple one. Taking out a rival of their employer during a war between two gangster factions on Nar Shaadda. Nothing out of the ordinary for the seasoned members of the war band that had seeing their fair share of action during the past few years and they were ready. For them this was a simple job, one they would do professionally but otherwise just another one. One for which Anya was always anxious. However this was a trap. As the bosses had managed to struck a deal, they had decided to remove the mandalorians one had hired from the equation, permanently. After all during one of their missions in the pasts months they had disrupted some more questionable operations and thus were a liability instead of an asset. Also one of the bosses personally wanted them dead as they had being directly responsible for the death of his eldest children, heir of his criminal empire. The group of Mandalorians would reach the reunion point in a hangar and would wait to be taken with the one who had hired them. However time would pass and no one would come to greet them nor take them to any contractor and thus everyone started to have a creeping bad feeling of the situation. Everything was very calm, almost as if the section of the space port they were at was devoid of life. It was then when a sharp sound was heard and one of the members of the band, which Anya had fought and bled in countless battles with her and rest, would fall before her. A gaping whole in which it would seem that flesh had fused with metal and cloth from the armor and body suit respectively. Their warrior instincts kicking in, the Mandalorians would assume defensive positions as blaster fire came to invade the hangar in which they had being instructed to wait. Anya would take a position behind the protection of some crates, using her anti-material rifle against the snipers that were harassing the defensive positions the warriors had taken. With ease she took them down, only to then reunite with the rest of her companions, her other family, in order to repel the incoming aggressors. The battle would rage for long minutes that would seem to turn into hours, with not only members of the criminal empire of those who had dared to betray them, but also a seemingly endless onslaught of war droids, posed to destroy the few warriors. But even against the overwhelming odds the warriors prevailed. However time would take its told and soon they were running low on ammunition to contain such a massive force. Tired of the insolence of the Mandalorians, both bosses agreed to have them capture, so in that way they could deal with them personally. Using the stun setting of their blasters to take them alive. By use of overwhelming numbers mixing droids, muscle from the criminal factions and mercenaries the capture was successful and they took the surviving warriors to the feet of those who had hired and betrayed them. One by one the crime bosses would begin to execute the Mandalorians, claiming that their skills were feeble if they were captured and killed like vermin. One by one the warriors were executed at the presence of their companions until only Anya, her father Paduk and brother Garron remained alive. The two crimebosses stopped to contemplate what to do with the three remaining Mandalorians. It was then that they decided to kill the two men and then have the woman sold as a slave in order to make profit. With their last words, the two men would tell her to save her anger and when the chance presented itself, she would avenge them. Being forced to look, Anya would see how her father and brother would be killed. The human-kiffar hybrid would be hit in the back of her head, knocking her out cold. She would awake, hours, days even locked in a cold cell, stripped of her armor and her gear, weakened but plotting her vengeance. Best Served Cold Anya would awaited patiently for the next weeks, keeping focused, even when she was fed scraps or beaten for using her restraints to injure the members of the gang sent to feed her. It was in due time that they would sent droids to bring her food after several incidents in which several guards suffered concussions, fractures and broken limbs. It was in one of this instances in which an astromech droid would appear in her cell. The astromech that belonged to her brother. Remembering its name as T7-Q9, the droid would express overjoy for reuniting with her, also informing her of what the crimebosses had seized all their equipment and have torn the ship in which they traveled apart. All their possessions in their ship had being seized, it included, with their gear and equipment or keeping it for the best of their hired guns. The ship itself had being torn apart, its part uses as replacements or sold. However the armor of each Mandalorian was something they had not being able to sell. Not even as a piece of novelty. The information only caused more ire on the woman and thus the desire to escape and get her revenge would grow. The Mandalorian warrior and the droid agreed that they had to leave this place and manage to get some payback from the crimebosses. The droid would leave and return, although the time they had to plan would shorten in order to not cause any suspicion from guards the guards. Subtlety, the droid would infiltrate into the database of the hideout in which Anya was being kept. Learning that there was someone interested in buying Anya and that he was coming within the next few days to complete the transaction. With this information, the droid would return to Anya and would inform her of the situation. Anya would decide that this was the perfect time to break out and consummate her vengeance. During the day in which she was supposed to be sold, T7 would infiltrate the mainframe of the compound, slowly preparing everything for the escape. It was when the woman and her escorts would go through a hallway of the compound in which the lights would flicker and eventually go out. Using the cover of darkness, Anya would slam her restrains against the head of a Kuro, smashing it against the wall. Taking what she thought was a rodian by the neck with her restrained arms, she used one of the underlings of her targets as a meat shield, only to then toss his inert corpse after seizing a blaster pistol, blasting the two remaining guards, a Zelosian and a Bith. Meanwhile, T7 would activate the dormant war droids, setting them against their very own owners and those who where under the organization or hired as an additional muscle, although making sure that they would not target Anya herself. With this havoc would break unto the compound, giving the woman enough time to be reunited by the droid and then being directed to the depot in which her gear was stored. After reuniting with the droid, she would quickly retrieve her armor, noting that the armor of her father, brother and companions was still there. Asking the droid if it knew what had happened with the bodies of the fallen, to which the droid told her that it didn't know. Knowing that it was the most probable case that they were tossed like garbage, she would make a note to return for their beskar'gam. Donning her armor and securing a weapon, the woman would slowly advance through the compound. The sound of blaster fire resounding throughout it's walls as war droids and the members of the criminal organization would fight against each other, giving her and T7 a good chance to escape. However she decided that she had business with the two individuals that had killed part of her family and her comrades and thus she would carry her revenge. Little by little the droids that T7 had set loose against it's former masters would gain a foothold, pushing what remained alive of the mercenaries and criminal band members back, until they were all left were inside the office of the crime boss. The storming of the final room was swift, the handful of mercenaries, criminals and bodyguards falling against the daily shower of blaster fire. With the boss that was present surviving only because he had hid behind his desk. Seizing the male Nautolan, Anya would drive him against the already cracked window of transparisteel. Afraid for his live, the Nautolan offered her a compensation, triple the pay she and her companions were to receive when they had taken upon the contract. Seeing this as an insult she would seize him by one of the head tentacles, slamming his head against the desk, demanding that if he was going to pay, it would be every last credit he had. Pointing the blaster to his head, the crimeboss would rapidly agree to her demands. After the transfer was completed and she had made sure that he would not take the credits he had transferred to her account back to his, she took the Nautolan as a hostage, leaving him locked in a crate. She took the Nautolan ship, a piece of junk barely spaceworthy, taking a moment to have the beskar'gam of her father, brother and comrades brought unto the ship. Days later she had the crate containing the Nautolan, and a very generous dose of explosives sent into the personal yacht of the other crimeboss that had betrayed them and still lived. Anya would only see from afar from her ship, as the explosion would emerge from the hull of the yacht, the breach on it's hull venting atmosphere, leading it to reenter the atmosphere of Nar Shaadda as it burned piece by piece until it blossomed into a fiery explosion and thus her revenge had being completed. The woman returned to Mandalore thereafter, returning alone and bearing the bad news. Return and the War There was mourning among the families of the farm but life had to continue. Anya would split the large sum of credits she had received from one of the crimebosses equally just retaining her part. Using the money she began to refit the ship she had stolen, turning the barely operational ship into something that would serve her needs as she would take missions as a mercenary, as well as a bounty hunter. She swore to her brother's widow that she would train and look after their children in the future. After several months of rest after the betrayal, the woman would depart on her ship, which she renamed From the Ashes, taking on her new life as a mercenary. Slowly she would make a name for herself, each mission being of a bigger pay than the last one. From time to time she would go back to Mandalore to check on her mother, sister in law, and those of the Farm, noting that some of the younger boys and girls would also be taking their verd'goten soon, something which she was glad for. Within a couple of years she had amassed some renown as a bounty hunter. However the Mandalorian way of life could not be suppressed for ever by the Republic and soon after the return of the Sith, the warriors and their clans would wage a war to reclaim what they had lost after the craven of Mandalore the Betrayer had signed the Treaty of Mando'a. Seeing this, Anya would pledge her loyalty, first as one of the many units that worked in the shade as the seeds of their return were being sown. As the conflict escalated she would see herself pressed into more operations. Either from the cockpit of her personal starship, or with her boots on the ground, fighting from the frontlines for the glory of her clan and Mandalore. During the long months that the campaigns lasted, she found herself more and more into the position of command, her skills for recon, long range support and command with her actions in Roche and Onderon being commanded by senior warriors and thus fulfilling her promise to bring more glory and honor for Clan Bralor and her more direct family. With the recognition of the Mandalorians as an independent nation, Anya would return home and settling as her people experienced a renaissance, and she continued to held the traditions of her clan and her side jobs as a mercenary and a bounty hunter. |
