Character Name Full Name • Myra Schiff Nickname • Queen Race • Human Birthplace • Coruscant Age • 36 Gender • Female Sexuality • Heterosexual Faction • Fringe, formerly Republic Concept • Leader of a pack of misfits calling themselves "Checkmate Squadron" (Planned). Former admiral of the Republic Navy, 281st Battalion under Jedi Knight Thad Kaylin. Languages • Basic, Huttese, a little Cheunh, Durese, Twi'leki. Assets • - Flashfire scout ship: Doc (Canon link) - Heavily armored transport (to carry said scout ship for hyperspace) Appearance Face Claim • Briget Satterlee Height & Weight • 5'9, 136 lbs Overall Looks • Raised in the lap of luxury, Myra may look tough but she is a rather frail woman. She is skinny and slightly athletic, but certainly far from an athlete. It is likely she has never picked up a weight before, aside from the occasional starship component. Due to her circumstances, she is usually seen in jackets and clothing that one would expect from the fringe, but her true fashion sense lies in the most expensive designer pieces. Give her a makeup kit and it would be expected that she'd come out with bits of glitter around her smoky eyes and slightly bronzed contours. She has no tattoos YET. The only scar someone would find is a small slash mark on her left bicep, but they would have to look very closely to spot it. Personality Profile Passionate, reliable, and unwaveringly dedicated to the task at hand, Myra hides her natural born leadership in a cloak of witty nonchalance. After having served in the Republic Navy for years, resolute and always to the point, she has since decided not to take life so seriously. If you're gonna live as a wanted fugitive, might as well make the best of it. However, anyone who knows her understands that deep down, she can't help but take things seriously. It's part of her nature as a tactician, and as a result, she has a hard time letting something go until she's made sense of it and developed a solution (often rather unorthodox ones). This is especially true for friends and family. While she may make friends easily, her lifelong ones are cherished perhaps even more than her own life. Myra will go out of her way to help those who need her, simply because she feels that it's the right thing to do. Providing financial support is something that can be counted on even if it bankrupts her. On the other side of that, she demands constant respect in exchange. She won't ask someone to treat her like a queen all the time, but if the woman feels like she's being disrespected, she will rip out the fact that she's done something to help that person and use it to paint a situation they can't respond to. As genuine as she is, her ego is something that she feels needs to be constantly protected (strangers will have the hardest time damaging it thanks to her sarcasm, though). On a personal note, Myra loves to be wrapped in luxurious things and may spend frivolously to that end. She loves gifts and tokens of affection, and someone could easily woo her with these. Her intuition and ability to read people is up there with the best, making her a touch impulsive sometimes. However, she is always willing to work with people she disagrees with in order to fix a problem, aligning with them but never joining them. Background Father • Decker Schiff Mother • Kenna Lumis Siblings • None Other Important Connections • - Jedi Knight Thad Kaylin - Captain Rorker (281st Battalion) - Nevulos Plaxid Overall History • ≪ Childhood ≫ Born to an affluent couple in the center of Coruscant’s high rise district, Myra always knew comfort growing up. Her father, Decker, was usually absent due to his occupation as a decorated hero in the Republic Navy, but he made sure to spend a lot of time with his daughter when home. Thanks to her parents’ status, Myra was indulged by the finest education Coruscant had to offer, moving from private school to private school with each graduation. Not only was she quite a social bee, but her studies extended from history to statistics, culture to star mapping, biology to interstellar religion, so on and so forth. ≪ Teenage Years ≫ As time went on, Myra began to exhibit more interest in what her father did for a living. Despite the protests of her mother, Kenna, the girl began to toy with speeders and clockwork objects. Soon, the complexity of machinery pulled her into an interest that would not let her go. Hours that were supposed to be spent with friends turned into hours spent in the garage. From there, it was an easy transition into the study of war. Myra gained a newfound fascination for the segments of history class that pertained to famous battles and the tactics used therein. When her father was home, she’d practically interrogate him with questions regarding what he learned in military school. Concerned, Kenna did her best to set her daughter back on the plan that had previously been outlined for her: to marry a rich friend’s son. For a time, Decker agreed and did his part to keep Myra on the straight and narrow. However, it became clear that her heart was set. After a stern conversation regarding the trials and tribulations she would face, especially as a woman, Decker decided to support his daughter in her prospective career. ≪ Adulthood ≫ Thanks to her enthusiasm for military service, Myra blew through her time at the Coruscant Naval Academy and quickly segued into the Navy at the age of 22. She refused her father’s offers for him to pull strings, but much to her dismay, her superiors did not want to cross hairs with him (a high death toll of naval officers) and promoted her quickly. As much as Myra disagreed with the speed at which she rose through the ranks, she proved to be phenomenal at her job. The young woman utilized tactics and strategies that other admirals had become too jaded or prideful to employ, winning one battle after the next. With Jedi Knight Thad Kaylin at her side, the pair dominated land and air. However, these battles went relatively fast and occurred in somewhat of a void in terms of military support. One particular operation involved a joint effort between multiple battalions in order to take a system deep within enemy space. The attack turned into a grueling two month long campaign for the capital, where the other admirals began to secretly authorize torture for a speedy victory. Predicting that Myra would be the only one who would not go with their plan, they compiled a mountain of false evidence to frame and implicate her if she chose to tell the Jedi. Unfortunately, her focus on the war effort had completely blindsided the young admiral to the treachery of her colleagues. She went along with it against her conscience, but at the end of the campaign, Myra predicted that her peers would blackmail her for continuous favors. One way or another, they were going to squeeze out everything they could until she had run her career into the ground and lost all her honor. Electing to keep her dignity, Myra defected from the Navy, preferring to at least know that she chose to do the right thing. As expected, the other admirals released their false evidence and branded Myra a traitor and fugitive. Now alone and unable to contact her parents, the woman is left to wander the galaxy. |
