For him that looks like a worn brown leather jacket and black or tan cargo trousers. He tends to find the need to blend in with a crowd and as such rarely wears his Jedi robes outside of the Temple or official functions where it is required or tactically plausible. Personality Profile As a man who makes a living by tracking down information, Winter tends to be more charismatic than most would give him credit for at a glance. In public settings, he has that thing about his face that makes most sentients think they’ve met him before, and tend to be more welcoming to him because he seems quite familiar to them even if they’d not met before. He uses this trait to its maximum potential in information gathering and coercion. Overall, he is a man who likes to find purpose and meaning in helping others. Normally this takes the shape of solving problems or cases that local law enforcement cannot handle or are simply ill equipped to do so. Primarily, Winter’s focus is on tracking leads on ancient artifacts that pose a danger to the galaxy, and seeing them safely recovered or destroyed. While on task he is quite tenacious and will do what it takes to get the job done. Occasionally, this mentality has given him a close brush with the Dark Side, but his strong morals and ethics along with his self awareness has prevented any slips or actions that would harm himself or anyone around him. Everything he does is done with purpose to help someone, somewhere. Winter has a particular disdain for self-righteous individuals who put their own personal value above others, and has been known to subtly take such individuals down a peg or two when possible. Background Overall History • Typical of almost all Jedi, Winter Lockhaert was identified early in childhood to be Force sensitive and was given up by his parents, to the Jedi Order. As two individuals who lived exceedingly dangerous lives, his parents felt obligated to offer their son a better path. Their reasoning was that at the very least, living with the Jedi would allow Winter to flourish with his innate abilities. As a soldier and a cop respectively, the Force was something neither his mother or father knew anything about. Surprising no one given his parentage, later in life Winter began to show a heavy appetite for puzzles and mysteries. He had the dogged determination of his father and the cool and detached demeanor of his mother. Murder was a tragedy to most, but to Winter, it was a puzzle to be solved. He was able to step out of the emotional state and use his intellect to find clues that many others would miss otherwise. This detachment mixed with his talent in the Force paved the way for a knack with the power known as Psychometry. As he developed this ability, he became more and more successful in his investigative nature. This led to him joining the ranks of the Jedi Investigators. Not terribly martial by nature, the investigators scratched an intellectual itch for Winter. He was thrust into problems and puzzles that confounded all but the most keen of minds, and simultaneously found purpose in helping those in need. Usually his missions as an investigator were peaceful enough. Sometimes he’d be assigned to recover lost holocrons. But other times he would be sent to track down dark artifacts and see them sealed away back at the Jedi Temple, or destroyed outright if they posed a danger to public safety. It was during those darker missions that Winter was glad he hadn’t slouched on his lightsaber training, as he occasionally ran across Dark Jedi or Sith. As a man who found himself constantly in a position to ask questions, Winter noticed pretty early that most folks didn’t like talking to Jedi. Typically the people he needed to get information from were of the shadier variety and thus he altered the style he’d grown up knowing and adopted a more casual approach to his work. He retained his robes for official capacity as a Jedi, but mostly wore clothing more in line with a fringer, rather than a Jedi on the job. |
