Vaathkree Rebuke Chorus Invasion
[break]
Vaathkree
[break]The Vaathkree have successfully repulsed an Archeri invasion attempt on their homeworld of the same name with unprecedented effectiveness. An Archeri force reportedly entered the system early last week, bombarding and invading the planet according to tactics they have displayed thus far. The native Vaathkree reportedly showed great biological resistance to the Plague, with the disease ultimately failing to infect most of those exposed. It is thought that the Vaathkree's inherent resiliency and the planet's natural climate put the fungus-like Chorus at a marked disadvantage, allowing the planetary militias and garrison to drive them off-world completely. Though the Archeri forces have since retreated back into Hutt space, the Empire has reportedly increased fleet patrols in the area. The Vaathkree leadership, meanwhile, has expressed great gratitude for their "apparent fortune" in resisting the Chorus's methods. Expansions to the planet's fortifications have begun "should the menace decide to return".
