Hal's eyes hold a certain intensity to them that's never truly appreciated until one stands toe to toe with him. He stands just below average height and weighs right in the middle of the pack for his height. Hal keeps his EBH with him at all times and is always ready for a fight. Due to this, he opts out of the flowing robes some Sith choose to wear, instead choosing a simple cloak or coat with clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Personality Profile One of the first things one would notice about Halvor is his surprisingly soft voice. Hal's voice often masks the true nature of his words. Hal often thinks his words though and is very good at reading what's written on others faces. Hal is not one to back down from a challenge, he knows that his below average height and lack of bulging muscles make him seem weak, and he uses this to his advantage in his styles of fighting. He focuses on augmenting his movements with force power and works force techniques into battles. During missions and training, Hal acts swiftly and efficiently, not allowing himself to draw out kills. Hal could be a gifted tactician, in time, however, he has a tendency to be blinded by the smaller picture. In simulations he often allows key pieces to fall so that he can win a single skirmish or battle, leaving himself weaker in the long run. Background Father • Sylvus Orthius - Soldier/Police Officer - deceased Mother • Irena Orthius - Scientist - deceased Siblings • N/A Other Important Connections • N/A Overall History • Born by the streets of Ord Mantell, to a poor family, Halvor's life was never easy. His relationship with his father was... strained. Hal's father loved him, but Hal did little to deserve his love. Halvor often found himself running drugs or money for local crime syndicates under his own father's nose. Hal's mother was rarely home, always away at a lab conducting experiments on who knows what. Many of the gangs around often needed chemicals for various purposes. One of these gangs got sick of having to track these chemicals down and buy them through black markets. They decided that they should just steal a massive supply. They spent months planning and eventually sprung their trap. One day, an explosion bloomed across Herglic's Folly. A lab had been accidentally blown up when a bomb was detonated inside, causing a chain reaction killing those within and around the building. Halvor's mother had been returning home from work when it detonated. Her body was never found. Hal's father was devastated and quit his job on the police force. He turned to drink and all but never forgot about Hal. Whenever Hal came home, he'd better have brought back money for more drink. Or he could see what 9 years of law enforcement experience looked like. Once, Hal only brought back food for himself, barely enough at that. His father flew into a rage. He struck Hal, again, and again. When Hal fell, he was picked back up. When Hal's body simply refused to be picked up, he was kicked. All while the words, "Respect your father." were repeated. Hal never expected to wake up. But he did, through sheer will and anger, Hal survived, not only that, Hal healed. Hal's father drank himself into a trance and set upon Hal again, despite having brought back the money. Something snapped in Hal. Like floodgates being forced open Hal let his rage out. His father lay a hand on Hal's shoulder to hold him in place. Hal grabbed his father's wrist and channeled all his anger. The body police found was charred, the left arm was burned to the bone and the rest of the body showed signs of serious electric damage. The police took the body away and took Hal too. They took him to a sith recruiting center but before he was signed into the army program, the police were reprimanded by one of the recruiters. "This boy can wield the force and you want to send him to the army?" Hal was taken to the Sith Academy where he quickly discovered his aptitude for force powers and lightsaber combat. He trained extensively in the form of Niman, extending that training for the use of a second lightsaber. The other acolytes in his class thought he was a fool for studying Niman. They called him lazy, called him weak. For one of the assessments, they're mentors allowed each acolyte to choose another acolyte they had a problem with, and duel them, to the death, in front of the class. They said that this was so that only the strongest would continue. Some other student, who Hal never bothered to learn the name of, challenged Hal, assuming an easy victory and hoping to increase his status. Hal accepted the challenge. In front of both the mentors and the students they fought. They're sabers clashed, and when Hal grew bored, he shot a short burst of force lightning into the man's gut with his free hand when their blades locked. The man was weak, and this small burst was enough to send him to the ground, where Hal ran him through. After that, people were less hesitant to question his choice of lightsaber form. Hal continued his training in the academy and with time, he outlasted many of the rest of his classmates, earning a full-fledged knighthood as a member of the Cult of Ascension |
