Lonely, Cyr feels as though he is on the fringe of losing his acceptance in the White Wolves at nearly all times. That’s owed to his heritage, and his Force-sensitivity. Because of those two things, Cyr is left with no legitimate reason to believe that he has true friends or has ever shared a kiss with someone that has been genuine. On the other hand, Cyr is very much genuinely sweet with a sensitivity that, among other things, leads him to love helping people to the point that he might not even see risk. He’s not stupid, or anything; Cyr is just eager to please, and always tries to do his best, sometimes in dangerous situations, but he still knows how to pick his battles. In that arena of being eager-to-please, Cyr tries being friendly with everyone, perhaps because he is trying to fill in a hole with quantity taking the place of the genuine, quality friendships that Cyr might just be imagining he’s lacking - Problem’s still there, though. One should not be misled by Cyr’s sweetness. He is still a Deucalian, and his mother and grandmother are both fuller Umbarans than he. Cyr can be ruthless in combat, and frequently finds a calm in that kind of performance, as he cannot perform for entertainment, so he performs for his blood. Cyr is still left fragile by Elisia’s death as she was his protector and a sister that truly loved him. She’s part of why his loyalty to the Deucalians has grown. Even if he were far from home, he would do his best to keep in contact with his people instead of running away or dropping them. He would return should they need support, no matter how long it had been. Elisia would have wanted that after all, with all of that loyalty of hers and her devotion to their people. Cyr misses his sister, and deeply wishes that he could see his sister returned, or at least honor her in some way. Though he doesn’t really want to screw with the Force like that, his need to honor Elisia through achievements and prowess in combat fuels an ambition that might be taken advantage of by more ‘entrepreneurial’ souls. Somewhat ‘messed up’ thanks to what happened to his sister, Cyr is a bit broken; being a little strange in the first place doesn’t help the Vynn’s situation very much. As a result, he’d probably have unprotected sex, if we’re being honest. That is if he had the chance; he hasn’t gone that far with anyone yet because he’s afraid that his charms would be the cause. Then there’s the fact that he tries to be honest when the situation is right for it, but he doesn’t want to hurt people close to him, and is afraid of disappointing them. Cyr is alright with polyamorous relationships as long as it’s one in which everyone knows the others, and where they all consented to such a thing. He isn’t sure how he’d feel if it was the policy of some manwhore, though. Cy enjoys playing pranks on others - primarily those close to him - but he doesn’t do so frequently as a lot of people are quite dangerous. Sure, he’s reckless with himself to a point, but would rather avoid being tortured to death. He’s fairly impressionable, too. With the wrong people, he could even end up with a drug problem, but a tenure on the Dark Side is more likely than that. Cyr is far from perfect, but he doesn’t have a personal concept/bias of sexism or racism. He won’t unless something significant permanently alters his world view, or someone conditions it into him; it’d take more than ‘a lot’ to imprint sexism. Healers shouldn’t discriminate after all. Suffering from a form of PTSD, Cyr’s symptoms manifest outside of battle, primarily in the form of frequent nightmares and night terrors, self-recklessness, an irrational fear of failure, and a constant, nagging sensation about his sister that many would call survivor’s guilt. Terrified of the idea of being useless, when Cyr is unable to do something in a situation he experiences a sensation best described as phantom pain. Cyr has taken to the belief that these fears of his, that all fears, are constructive - obstacles that one must overcome to truly begin to pursue greatness, a belief that could be dangerous if a Sith took to shaping him. Cyr will usually leave his noble-blooded Umbaran descend out of conversations, since he has the fortune, like most of his family, of being able to pass. He would attempt to do what he does best and heal what is in this case Umbaran reputation amongst some who have had… uh, negative interactions with members of that species, but that’s impossible, so he avoids judgement instead. That’s all there is to a boy named Cyr Vynn… for now, folks. Background Father • Bor of Vynn, 57, Businessman (Deceased, KIA) Mother • Modas of Vynn, 59, Boardmember of Vynn Industries (Alive) Siblings • Elisia of Vynn, 37, Warrior (Deceased, KIA) Other Important Connections • Mnemo of Vynn (Nephew/Ward, 16, Wanderer/Warrior/Merc, Alive), Sigrid of Vynn (Aunt, 46, Boardmember of Vynn Industries, Alive), Iridia of Vynn (Cousin, 21, Combat Tutor, Alive), other members of the Vynn family | Argis Fett (26, Former Partner of Cyr, Cousin, Mercenary, Enemy) Overall History • Mandalore had always felt like a home to Cyr of Vynn for as long as he could remember, even if he had never been able to become the performer that he wanted, even if his parents turned his urge to perform into mastery of combat, and his love for science into a skill able to be applied on the battlefield. It felt like a home until it wasn’t one any longer, and that development, that being cast out happened for one reason and one reason only: The Vynn family, part of Clan Fett, possessed a now-notorious secret that they had spent generations covering up, building a network through which they could hide their secret, and elevating other members of Mandalorian society to higher classes - and higher positions of power - to hide shared secrets. This secret? The Vynn were often force-sensitive. They did not train it, but occasionally a member of the Vynn family had to be secreted away to train inheritances of telepathy and other mental skills so that they might be hidden. Cyr had grown up in a collection, a tight-knit community, of the descendants of 5 siblings, all of whom had taken on a shared name to show that their family was ready to work as one towards the goal of growing Vynn Industries into a powerhouse capable of handling the bigger threats to their group. He had grown up happily in the grip of this family, a component of Clan Fett now scattered across the galaxy in the safe havens that they built using their money and power, sometimes living amongst friends, other times joining a Force Order or foreign government, other times retreating so that Vynn Industries might develop a position as a contractor, and other times becoming a wanderer in hiding. The technology that they developed in what is now a more unified Mandalorian space was destroyed when they realized what was going to happen. So, Vynn Industries products - built well, and efficient in combat - became a bit more closely held, but Cyr? He just wanted to go back to the way things were before. A year ago, Mandalore had been Cyr’s home - and it was the only home that he had ever known, and the only home that he had ever wished to know. It was his fault. He misspoke, someone did something terrible, and people began to question why those around Cyr had developed predispositions to doing things that, normally, they would never do. It was obvious he was more than just trustworthy and skilled in guiding people by that point. That’s not the before that Cyr wanted to go back to, though. Elisia, his sister, died around 6 years ago while on a combat mission to handle some threat on a planet. It was very hush hush, but the things Elisia did on behalf of their people often were. Cyr wanted to go back to that, and find a way to use his voice to make her stay. No one ever had to find out what he was, what the Vynn were. The worst part, though, was the rejection, and now Cyr and Mnemo are in hiding. Occasionally he’ll pop up. He had to stay in contact with Vynn Industries’ branches somehow, after all. More often than not, though, he’s delegated leadership to someone in some other position - usually the board. His family is scattered, and broken, and his country has betrayed him. It’s not really his fault, though, right? He can’t help what he is, right? At least many of them got out - most of their friends, too. He just wished that they had been able to stay together. |
