Cyrus Fett Full Name • Cyrus Fett Nickname • "Mandalore the Conqueror" (Claimant), "Ol' Zakkeg" Race • Human Birthplace • Dxun Age • 53 Gender • Male Sexuality • Bisexual Faction • Mando’a Concept • Experienced and impassioned infantry commander with a zealous patriotism for his people and their tradition of expansionism. Languages • Mando’a, Basic, Binary, Shyriiwook Assets • Beskar'gam: His mother's suit of medium weighted armor has been adjusted to fit him well, providing a strong mix of protection and mobility. It's a snowy mixture of white, silver and black with ceremonial carvings of a religious nature. Has an advanced HUD as well as integrated wrist-mounted blasters and vibroknives when other options are limited. Can seal heat and air for short periods in a vacuum or no-atmosphere zones. Hettyc Kote: Cyrus' Basilisk War Droid, or Bes'uliik. Its name translates roughly to "Burning Glory". It's armor plates match those of Cyrus' Beskar'gam. It has a wild, practically untameable personality, which suits its rider just fine. A bit smaller than most Basilisk, but faster and more maneuverable as well. It grows anxious when it goes too long between battles. Z-6 Jetpack: Cyrus uses a slightly modded design for his pack, since the stock Z-6 is notoriously fragile. This one can only get him about 40 continuous seconds of lift due to smaller fuel tanks, but is far less prone to malfunction due to damage with its additional armor. Top-mounted missile has been replaced by additional stabilizers for maximum maneuverability. Mk.IX N-RF Soal Pattern Blaster Rifle: Cyrus' Workhorse rifle is a model of efficiency, and its broad reliability and functionality appeal to him. He's been in the heat of battle for decades, and is a hell of a shot. He doesn't need a fancy gun to get the job done, just one that isn't going to seize up on him. Not that he hasn't made a few improvements. Several in fact. The biggest being a "Maximum Power" setting. He can only squeeze one round off every few seconds with it unless he wanted to overheat, but against particularly heavily armored opponents a Workhorse couldn't normally fell, it's a life saver. Grenade launcher mount and scope installed. (link) Appearance Face Claim • Javier Bardem Height & Weight • 5'11", 180 lb. Overall Looks • A strong physical specimen even at his advancing age, Cyrus is the very image of a grizzled veteran. He's not particularly tall, nor does he have the density of muscle some of his younger counterparts sport, but he's more than athletic enough to keep up on the battlefield. He has deep brown hair now salted with grey throughout. His brown eyes a focused and piercing. His stark features can seem rather imposing, but often illuminated by a wide, playful smile. He has the body language of someone who's never met a challenge he wasn't excited for, and his youthful energy can be infectious. Personality Profile Cyrus is a fierce young firebrand in the body of a tempered soldier. He loves to talk for hours about old glories and the passion he felt when the Mandalore once again summoned the clans together to call for a new crusade after decades of directionless passivity. He has an affable, light attitude towards most things, and enjoys good food, bawdy songs, and fine company after a good scrap. He's a talented and cool headed commander, and those under his banner flourish. He likes to tell everyone that he never truly knew who he was until he made an orbital drop on his basilisk for the first time. Cyrus is also a deeply spiritual man. Brought up faithfully by his family in the ways of the Resol'nare, he has always sought to live in tune with the Manda. He seeks a great legacy and good death so that he may become one with his beloved family and clan. He is at his most solemn when discussing his duty to his people, and what they must due to continue growing their holdings. He was trained by his father and mother to be prepared for anything, and has assembled a strong array of skills over his lifetime. Background Father • Cazmos Fett, 46 (killed by drexl), Professional Hunter and Merchant Mother • Deshri Fett, 70, Former Bounty Hunter and Farmer Other Important Connections • Taannu Fett, 15, Part Time Ship Technician, Adopted daughter from a group of wookiees he had clashed with in the first few years of the new crusades. Overall History • Born forty years before the dark times of the Arasuum treaty had ended, Cyrus was fortunate enough to live in one of the few places and families where the old ways were kept. Cazmos and Deshri, his father and mother were among those allowed to keep their clan name and identity. They hid away in the forest of Dxun, remembering the wounds inflicted upon them by the Republic and their Jedi hounds. They had ridden under the banner of the loathsome Betrayer, and felt the sting of this quiet life more than most. His mother Deshri especially, who had been a commando and won a great deal of glory for clan Fett. Knowing they must keep their numbers limited due to the treaty and their own resources, they held to having a single child, but swore that Cyrus would be brought up as Mando'a. Living on Dxun is never easy, and especially not with children. Deshri was often gone, as the best work for a woman of her skills now was bounty hunting. Cazmos took to stalking the local wildlife. It brought him a sense of accomplishment that the treaty had stolen, and there were always those that bought trophies. He had little respect for those who would boast of a kill that wasn't theirs, but he would take their money. As a young child, Cyrus had to mostly stick to his own home and grow food for his family, and spent much of his time reading of their people's history and developing a deep understanding of their religion and philosophy. In his late teens, he was allowed to accompany both of his parents on their various hunts, growing to understand the nature of their pursuits and what would bring honor to the Manda. He began to develop his vast array of skills during this time, trying to help his parents with everything from ship repair to first aid, but his first and fondest love was always marksmanship, at which he excelled. He took to learning a great deal about firearms and even made modifications to his own beloved "Workhorse" rifle in time, which helped to address a few of its deficiencies. When he was a young man, and had grown into a talented contributor to his family on many fronts, he had his first taste of tragedy. His father fell to a great and powerful drexl out in the forest. As was custom, he buried Cazmos' body in an unmarked pit and did his best to rid his memory of the location. The corpse was not his father any longer. His father was of the Manda. He waited on the great beast's return from its migration while he trained, losing himself for weeks in the deep parts of the moon. His mother had been informed that her husband was lost via long rang message, and that her son intended to pick up where he had left off. Saddened, but proud of her boy, she asked if she should return. Cyrus told her that she should come back to Dxun only when her hunts had ended. He was ready to bring his own glory to the clan. And sure enough, the next year he was more than a match for the beast. Between his traps and skill, the creature stood little chance. Twenty years is a long time, but it seemed to pass in a blur for a man who believed he carried on his shoulders the burden of all Fett traditions and codes. He worked for those in the cities when he needed to. His skills were often put to worthwhile use. He hunted when he needed to. He spent most of his time honing himself and reading of the great deeds of Mandalores through the ages. He would not be the one to draw the ire of the Republic to his little moon and have them stamp out one of the last true practicing Mandalorians, but he desperately craved to bring new blood into the Manda. To fight the injustice that had been placed upon his people. And soon enough, he was granted his chance. New Mandalores rose quickly, one after the other, and Cyrus' blood ran hot under their leadership. He was a zealous and enthusiastic solder, and was quickly recognized as an exceptional talent and placed in charge of other warriors. These new crusades felt like they were a legend come to glorious life for him. His mother even came home from bounty hunting and helped them seize old worlds once again. Though as her body began to break down, she stepped aside from the front line and brought her skills to work in training the young. For Cyrus, this meant the inheritance of his mother's Beskar'gam. It needed minimal modifications to fit him, and he felt as if he were truly living in a new dawn of glory. During one exchange with a band of wookiees who found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time, he found a young weeping wookiee girl named Taannu. She fearlessly looked up at him and bellowed her defiance through her tears after he had defeated her caretakers. He offered her a chance to hop on his ship as something better than starving to death where she was. Accepting, since she had nowhere else to turn, he quickly understood she had been an orphan long before he met her people. While their relationship was anything but friendly at first, not a year later, she had grown truly attached to both Cyrus and the Mandalorian way of life. He adopted her, and she is growing into a powerful young warrior in her own right. Since finding a child to raise in the way of his people, he feels he is at last living fully in tune with the Resol'nare. He was even given the great honor of being allowed to ride a Basilisk war droid into battle. The one he was allowed to tame he refused many other riders, but he was both persistent and canny, and would not be refused this great boon. Hettyc Kote was the great metal beast's name, and he would let his enemies know to fear it. These were the greatest days of his life, but suddenly, they were at an end. Despite how difficult the Arasuum Treaty had been for him to endure, he understood that it was because his people had lost. But the Pact of Kad Ha’rangir was something else. The clans were still strong, and yet they refused to strike further. To fight back continue to seize new worlds. He felt like the only flaw in their strategy was that new warriors had not been joining their forces quickly enough from the new conquered worlds, and a charismatic Mandalore would give them the numbers they needed. But he would do what he was told until instructed otherwise. Such was his duty. But he told himself that he would not sit idly by if he had the chance to help put his people on the proper path once again... |
