Appearance Face Claim • Leon Scott Kennedy, Resident Evil series Height & Weight • 6'3", 260lb Overall Looks • Operative code-name "Romeo" is a lean, mean brute of a man, tall and solidly built beneath the armor. His body is covered in scars, from shrapnel as well as medical operations. He tends to go a few days at a time in between shaving, and prefers an uninspired fade cut for his hair; if it looks like he trimmed it himself in the mirror, well, he probably did. He doesn't put a whole lot of stock in his looks, after all. One whole side of his face is messed up from old burn wounds, and his eyes have the distinctive purple rim around the iris that denotes an Archeri survivor. Personality Profile Cold and brusque, Renny isn't much of a people person, preferring to communicate with his fists or his guns over his words. He feels most at ease around his own people, of course, his fellow Mandalorians, but even then he keeps to himself and will only speak up if he has something worth saying. In general he prefers to keep his head down, follow orders, and go with the flow, and is intensely uncomfortable being put on the spot in any shape or form. When on assignment he can be more assertive, since he knows his place and his work here and isn't afraid to call someone else out if they're getting in the way. He likes to go in ahead of the rest, taking out priority targets and causing chaos behind enemy lines before they know he's there. He can operate silently or loudly, and is comfortable either way; whatever completes the mission and makes things easier for the soldiers behind him, after all. Background Father • Vertigous Shandou, dead at 43 Mother • Marilee Shandou, dead at 29 Other Important Connections • -Arven Swagger, adoptive father, dead at 64 -Clan Ordo, adoptive Mandalorian clan Overall History • Renny was born on the Deep Core ecumenopolis of Empress Teta, although his parents died in an accident when he was very young and he spent a few months in the foster system before a quiet older man adopted him. Arven named the boy after his own grandfather, and did his conscientious best by the lad. Renauld thus had a quiet, unassuming early life, yet despite his loyalty to his father he always yearned for more, and tended to cause trouble when at school. When he was seventeen Arven died of old age, and though his estate was modest, Renauld had no desire to stick around; he sold everything but Arven's antique shotguns, bought a set of shock mitts, and taught himself shock boxing before entering the local circuit. He won a few fights and built up more capital, then booked passage on a ship heading away and never looked back. Fighting paid the bills, but it was a cutthroat way of life and Renny had to adapt or perish. He learned the ways of a saboteur during this time, and found he enjoyed cheating when it gave him an edge against his opponents; it was a lesson of victory no matter the price (as long as he didn't get caught, of course), and he took it to heart despite never making many friends. Despite his lack of charisma he made a small name for himself on the fighting circuits, and his underhanded ways eventually caught the attention of more prominent patrons. He was in his 20s when he was approached by the Hutts, who wanted his skills for their own purposes. Knowing it wasn't wise to refuse he agreed to work for them, and found the work itself to his liking; he was still fixing fights and sabotaging other fighters, of course, and he learned how to kill and move silently as well. In time the Hutt he worked for ran afoul of a clan of Mandalorians, and Renny found himself fighting for his life against truly skilled opponents for the first time in his life. He couldn't save his employers, but he fought as hard as he could anyway. The Mando'a were impressed, and when the fighting died down they offered him a place with them, a chance to do something honorable for once in his life. The alternative was to stay there and die of his wounds, so really, he didn't have much choice. He agreed and they took him in, tended his wounds and tested his mettle, and when he passed he was given the chance to build his own beskar'gam. He eventually settled on a somewhat lighter design, as his style of fighting relied on mobility, but it was still plenty sturdy and defensive despite all that. He found himself at ease with his new family, against the odds, and found himself fulfilled in ways he'd never found before. Fighting for a cause was different than fighting for money, and his skills were useful enough that he found an easy niche to occupy. He suffered his fair share of accidents of course, chief among them losing almost half his face in a skirmish against some backwater in the Outer Rim. The Archeri Plague came at a bad time as he was working minor missions in Hutt space, and he found himself infected, but he isolated himself and recovered fully, although his eyes would be a little weird in the aftermath. Since then he's kept on doing his thing, and the death of the Mandalore won't mean much to him. He has no ambitions for the top spot himself, and as long as someone's above him to give orders, he'll be glad to take them. |
