In wiki it states that Bacta is not produced until 4000 BBY, now I dont know if the Star Wars years BBY go up until it switches or down like our BC, if they go down then ignore this message, but if they go up, then the use of bacta would not be viable, unless we were able to have a civilian "create it"

We're in 3602 BBY, so it's well within discovery.
The time line is BBY to ABY, so the years decrease on BBY since it's counting down to the Battle of Yavin, which happens in A New Hope.
Hope that clears that up for you.

At this time they were using Kolto, they started using Bacta because it was more effective and accessable.

From downtown, I can help with the transition of my Sith discovering Bacta he sleeps in kolto and may actually turn to find something more potent and stumble across it.
