Hello,
I've checked out most of this forum now, and I'm yet to find a post containing guidelines. We don't have them do we? I'd like for that to change, and I'm whilling to write them myself if no one else will, my only problem is, that I don't know what to write in them so far. Seriously, a set of guidelines would save the mods SO much time! And it would clear up so much confusion around character creation, and factions and so on. No, it's stupid to mention any other examples, let's just stick with the fact that guidelines are GOOD. We need more GOOD.
if we already have guidelines, then I say that they should be easier to find, as it seems many people don't really catch a glimse of them. Maybe a warning when you access the template that says: Before you fill in, READ THE GUIDELINES! This will ensure you a quick approval. "link".
If we don't have guidelines, I think one of the mods should write them, and then maybe the other mods could write seperate guidelines for their specifik boards. If no mod is willing to write them, I would still be glad to do it, I just need a mod to tell me what to write first... And as you can well imagine, the mod might save some time, just writing them him/herself.

These are your guidelines (look further below the "line")? If they are, I say I can do them better... No offence to the author. They provide less than minimal knowledge of how to create a character on these forums. Thats my take anyways. When I said guidelnes, I didn't eman "don't you guys have a psot the displays perfectly what common sence is?" xD While nicely written, I don't think it has much information to offer? Or do you totally disagree? I mean, when I look at the characters up for sanctioning, they all make the same mistakes, including myself when I made my first. I had NO idea what I had doen wrong, because i just had to try. Thats hard for most people... Then you can tell people to look at the sanctioned character to see what is allowed, but aren't all characters supposed to be original?
Anyways, I'd still be happy to write them, I just someone to fill out this form for me, then I'll try to add some words:
"insert rank"/young/middle aged/old max stat/number of times allowed number of minimum words in bio and rp sample
____________________________________________________ I. Stick to the Plot The Plot of this site contains all the information on current events of the site. Before character creation, please refer to the Plot to understand the history of our RP. Characters in violation of our Plot will not be accepted
II. Mod Requirements: There are many races, powers, vehicles and other various nouns in Star Wars that requires special "Mod Permission." Please read the character templates end to end. Any power or section added without the specific Mod approval will be cause for character denial.
III. Keep to the RP atmosphere: Even in the world of Jedi Knights, not everyone is perfect. Characters sometimes fail a mission, succumb to the 'Dark Side,' or even die. Please keep this in mind while Roll Playing. Power Playing will not be tolerated. For example: Padawans will not win a fight or even hold ground with a Sith Lord Jedi do lose their lightsabers, once lost it does not magically reappear when convenient. Unfortunately not all senators will agree with your plans for the Galaxy. One does not enter a room knowing the last five minuets of conversation between two characters. Roll Playing will be required to bring new thread entries up to speed.
B. Form Etiquette:
Racism or offensive posts out side of RP will not be tolerated Keep all outside links and advertisements in the designated threads. This includes advertisement PMs. Put effort into your posting. We are not all Shakespeare but we can all put time and effort into our responses. Please wait a minimum of 24 hours before double posting. The plot must go on but if you want to continue your last post, you may modify until you reach your 60,000 character limit. Keep IC Roll Playing third person. I rolled out of sight in the nick of time should be [Player's Name or pronoun] rolled out of sight in the nick of time.
C. Bios
Every Character must have a complete Bio All bios must have the Acceptance of a Mod before beginning to RP After completing the changes requested by the reviewing mod, post "Revised" in your character thread. NO unknowns are accepted. Your character and any sentient in the Galaxy may not know where you were born, however, you were, in fact, born somewhere. This and all required information must appear in the bio prior to acceptance. Adherence to special Mod Approval (ex. Chiss Race) must be maintained. If you don't know about something, ask! It is recommended that you update your Bio following every major event in your character's life
D. Violations
Offenses will be handled through PM. If you have a problem with a Member, you will contact a Mod via PM. Any on board harassment will result in punishment. 'Fighting Back' on board will also result in punishment. All discrepancies will be handled by the mods. Punishments range in severity starting at Warning via PM and ending with 7 day ban or even pertinent ban with character deletion. Punishment will be handled ONLY at the digression of the Mod Team.

For character creation, did you look at each of the applications as well? They have the basic rules of character creation included in each one. Still, contact JK (now JKizzle) if you want to have your changes put up- he's the one who wrote the rules as they are, and It would be rude of me to suddenly change things from under him! =P

Well sir, I note your enthusiasm. Though guidelines are just that: guidelines. Its not a complete guide anything specific. The rules written there are applicable to every form be it RP, character creation, or OOC chat. Now I believe what you are looking for is a specific character creation guideline. For that you must actually do some reading.
As of now I see things both ways. If you want to get approved on the first swing you will have to read the rules thread and your character creation thread. Every requirement is on the site, you just have to read it. Though I can see why there should be a single place for character development. I think it would save time but I think if it was in one place, members would skip the other rule threads.
At the end of the day I do think that there should be a one stop shop for character creation. A Generic Guide to Character Creation. The way it is now each mod provides that information on a one to one basis. Its slower but it is personalized. Like Best Buy v. Wall Mart.
Look for changes in the future.
