For some strange reason, the Jedi Council recalled Torran from his trip to Boz Pity and threw a different mission at him. The only good thing about this new one was that he would be doing this with Aiya. It was time to depart from the temple to Nar Shaddaa, the reasons for going were pretty straightforward, investigate several large crime syndicates and put a stop to them, easy enough.
" Have any idea why i got pulled back from a mission for this?" Torran asked as he walked along side his best friend and former master.
" No idea." Aiya said with a shrug, she had been teaching some of the younglings the finer points of the Shii Cho style when the council called for her.
" Shall we then?" Torran said before they stepped onto their ship and took off for Nar Shaddaa.
" Great.....just like i remember. This place is so....nice..." Aiya said with mock happiness. " Let's get this over with quick ok?" Aiya smiled at Torran while he mumbled rather rude things about the moon under his breath.
" Yeah sounds good to me." Torran then landed the ship and set off for the designated location. The two of them walked through the crowded streets, the random begger pleading for spare credits and the frequent sleezy merchant trying to sell them his wears. " Let's get off this rock fast." Torran whispered to Aiya as they made their way through the people.

Chiron's eyes snapped open, his dark eyes taking in the soft red glow of his ship's lights. He felt his heartbeat and breathing return to normal, his body perfectly still as it awoke from it's trance. He had felt something new, something he could only describe as "potential". It was a crude was to put it, but there was no language that could define the endless mysteries and powers of the Force into something so simple and limited as a word, so he contented himself with it.
Rising slowly to his feet, his dark robes settling around his muscled frame, the Dark Jedi Master turned to the navigational display, noting he was in the Y'Toub system, almost at the moon of Nar Shaddaa. Too well-versed in the ways of the universe to believe in mere coincidence, he thumbed down the hyperdrive engines, shifting slightly as the ship returned to normal space.
He looked up, out the thin strips of the reinforced viewing ports, noting the sickly sheen of the moon. Though he had never been here, he knew enough about it to see little interest in it's criminal workings in the past, but here, now, he could feel that same feeling, like a fleck in the distance, somewhere on the world.
Settling into the command chair, Chiron took control of the vessel, angling it down and planning a landing route. He aimed to avoid the main urban centers, flying low to avoid as much undue detection as he could. He had no idea the source of his feelings, nor how welcoming they may be found, though he sensed the unmistakable taint of a Jedi, albeit one inferior to himself. Setting down the ship in the dark recesses outside what seemed to be an abandoned waste processing facility, Chiron donned his black cloak, covering his face with the shadow of it's hood.
He stepped down the ramp, breathing in the foetid air, almost gagging on the stench, before setting out in the direction his feelings drew him.

Torran and Aiya had reached the doors of one of the many Cantina's that were in the area when Torran felt a disturbance in the Force, a new, very negative ripple in the force tugged at Torran as he turned around and saw in the near distance a black cloaked figure. " Aiya, do you sense that?" Torran asked seriously as he pulled out his lightsaber subtly, not igniting it.
" I do" Aiya also brought her weapon to bear, unignited as well. " Let's go" She hurried into the cantina and walked up to the bartender and used a little bit of force persuasion to make the patrons and staff leave.
" Good plan." Torran whispered as the two of them waited for their pursuer to enter, lightsabers at the ready, both ignited, Torran's yellow saber and Aiya's dual purple and green shotos.
"Make sure not to die." Aiya said softly, the tension very evident in her voice.
" I won't." Torran whispered back confidently as he continued to stare down the doorway.

Chiron froze. He knew he had been detected. In and of itself, that was not at all surprising; at this range he was sure any Jedi could locate the menace he presented, but what stopped him was the conflicting feelings he sensed. There were two of them.
Turning quickly down an alley, idly sending a prospective mugger hurtling into a wall with bone-crunching force before he could utter his threats, the Dark Jedi Master realized that what he sought lay within one of the pair coming for him; and that presented a rather large problem.
He had fought Jedi before, and truth be told he relished the chance to face them again, but if one of them was what he sought, he had to figure out a way to determine which was his quarry, and which his foe, hopefully before eviscerating the wrong one.
Looking around him at the complex works of the city-moon, he quickly realized his best chance was to seperate and confront them individually, which would require him to force them to part. The dense jungle of metals and alloys presented an ideal environment for such encounters, but he would need to lure them somewhere constricting and confusing, somewhere sufficiently labyrinthine to force them to seperate themselves.
With that in mind he dove into a series of pipe-works, his dark shape disappearing in the shadows. There were veritable miles of the stuff, often barely large enough to allow him through. The Jedi would be forced to split up to find him, and that would work perfectly.

Both Torran and Aiya felt the dark presence take off in an unknown direction, one that wasn't towards them. Both tried to sense where he or she was headed but no luck. " I think we should go after him." Torran said as he exited the cantina and looked around.
" Are you kidding?! That's exactly what he want's us to do." Aiya said shrewdly. " We can't split up!" She then folded her arms and gave Torran a " i know everything and you know it" look. Torran just brushed her off " We'll cover more ground if we split up, plus, i think we can both take him or her on by ourselves, it honestly doesn't seem like that strong of a presence." Torran always did like to do things by himself more than with another.
".....fine. Just don't die." Aiya said slightly irritated. The two of them then split up, Torran checking out several of the cantinas and Aiya, checking out the pipeworks.
Torran made his way to a very large cantina and walked in casually. He looked around, meeting the eyes of several of the patrons, most of whom looked to be mandalorian thugs, greeeaaat. " Excuse me sirs, but have you seen a man or woman wearing a black cloak?" Torran's question was answered by a rather large shove from a large mandalorian man with a few scars on his face.
" We don't take kindly to you types of people round here." He said menacingly as he cracked his knuckles.
" Sir, i don't want to fight you, but if you attack me i won't have a choice." Torran tried to reason with the man, several of his friends rose from their seats and prepared for a brawl. There were seven total, all pulling out vibroknives and blaster pistols.
" Get out of here you over sized insect!"
" Yeah you jedi scum!"
Torran's eye twitched slightly at being called an oversized insect, they were making fun of his species and that particular subject was rather touchy with him. Before he could stop himself, Torran ignited his lightsaber and leaped at the offender with a kiss of force power and carved a hole into the mandalorian's chest. " What's that? OH yes, the sound of you all DYING!" Torran then pulled his saber from the now dead mandalorian and continued to hack and slash at the remaining six men.
All six were soon dead and laying at Torran's feet, his anger still evident even as he exited the now silent cantina. He then used the force to find Aiya and followed her force signature to the pipeworks where the dark presence had manifested clearly.
Aiya had entered the pipe system the smuggler's moon and followed the dark presence that was slowly starting to grow. She then made it to a rather large space where the man or woman could be hiding and ignited her lightsabers. " Come out whoever you are." She demanded.

Someone once said that laughter was a universal language, that the sounds of cheer and joy could be felt by all others and shared. Why then was the laughter Aiya heard nothing but haunting. It sounding like cold wind rasping through shattered glass, unfeeling and razor sharp, but it was the joy in the laugh that made the sound so unnerving. So unwholesome.
Stepping silently from the shadows like a wraith, Chiron clapped slowly, mockingly, to his dark laughter. When he spoke, there was no warmth in his voice, no humanity; it was like hearing a droid describe murder: cold and calculating, as if the true meaning of it's words held no sway on it's conscience. Which, of course, was true.
"Well done, Jedi, you've found me. And with blade in hand! Well done indeed," Chiron's smirk faded, his hands falling to his sides. "Yet I'm afraid you're out of luck. You're not what I sought."
In an instant a blade of crimson was held in the Dark Master's hand, it's humming blade pointed down, as if pointed between the two combatants. "Though I do so love to cull the stars of your kind," the rictus grin returned.
Like a bolt of lightning, Chiron seemed to explode, his relaxed, confident stance suddenly in motion, moving impossibly fast, the blade tracing a complex figure through the air as it arced for Aiya's chest.

Aiya was almost unprepared for the very sudden attack from the Dark Jedi. She had just barely been able to block the attack and was thrown backwards. " Don't take me so lightly dark jedi." She said seriously as she went into a mixed stance of both jar kai and makashi. "You die here!" She shouted as she dashed at her opponent with blinding speed and went for a lunge with her left blade while simultaneously slashing downwards with her right one.
Torran couldn't help but notice the two forces collide as he rushed after Aiya now with increased speed. " Don't worry Aiya, i'm coming." He thought to himself as he continued through the pipelines.

Chiron's grin only widened as he twisted his body, turning his blade to sweep aside first the thrust, then the slash in one fluid motion, casting them aside with a flick of his wrist.
"Lightly, my dear? Why should I take you as anything more when you are so much less?"
His attacks resumed as he brought his blade in an upwards slash, twisting his wrist to return it back in a deadly arc. He held the hilt downwards, advancing gracefully, his moves artistically Makashi, yet each fuelled with the strength of Djem So.

Aiya only looked at Chiron with an angry yet controlled glare. She didn't say anything else as she parried both attacks and made use of a powerful force repulse to blow back the dark jedi. " I love when scum like you underestimate jedi." She said very calmly as she with the aid of the force, threw her left shoto lightsaber at Chiron. Right after throwing her first saber, she went in for another lunge with her remaining saber.

Falling to a knee, Chiron punched the metal grating upon which they fought, and from his dark form shot a wave of the Force, sending the thrown weapon careening away from the combatants, and knocking the advancing Jedi off her feet.
Rising slowly, giving his prey a chance to rise and face him, Chiron deftly swung his blade, loving the delicate hum and it cut the air, all but willing it to caress it's way through the foolish Jedi. Leaping into another attack, Chiron's blade rose and fell like a thunderstorm, raining blow upon blow upon his enemy. Each time the blades connected, hissing angrily, he felt her resistance bow to the force of his anger. Each time his red lightsaber connected with her green, her arm buckled beneath the strength of the blow. She began to retreat slowly, each step away from him earning her only the slightest breathing room before he stepped forward.
And each of his steps fell as the inevitable call of death itself, his dark features lit by the passing of his blade, his malicious eyes revealing dark intent in the red glow. No move of his was complete in and of itself, it was only the part of the next one, owing it's existence the end of the last; a series of fluid, vicious attacks. He came from every angle, his saber swing down in hammer blows from on high, sweeping low in graceful slashes at the legs, thrusting, slicing, unyielding and unceasing. He could have been one man or many, and Aiya would not have known, for with the Force flowing through his very veins, his blows landing like the onslaught of an angry hive, his truest essence was combat.
His blade swinging in low and fast, it was turned aside quickly by the lightning reflexes only a Jedi could ever hope for, but Chiron's blade seemed to skip off of it's aggressor as a pebble on a pond, dancing first up, twisting as Chiron's whole body seemed to suddenly close with Aiya's own, before falling, the blade neatly passing through the forearm, and into the ribs. It came to a gentle rest atop her heart, the blade hissing angrily and Chiron leaned close, his eyes almost touching Aiya's.
"And I love when you Jedi come out to play," his rictus grin returned as he looked into her dying eyes.

With every ounce of strength she could muster, she turned around ever so slowly and caught a glance of the newly arrived Torran, giving him a blank stare as life left her body before she fell to the ground in a crumpled heap.
Torran was in a different world, his state of mind frozen at what he had just witnessed. His best friend....dead, this couldn't happen, never. "no....no...no, No, NO, NOOOOOOOO!" He shouted in immense despair as he ignited his lightsaber and charged at Aiya's killer with such speed and strength that the ground behind him seemed to bend behind his feet as he got right into the man's face and launched blow after powerfully erratic blow, almost all sense of control gone, all Torran wanted to do was kill the man who had taken the person dearest to him, to wipe him away from this universe, he was riding on pure anguish and extreme hatred and rage. As one blow ended, the next began as Torran utilized the Juyo form as best he could. He ended his onslaught with a firm force push to the man's chest and began a second flurry of swings and slashes.

Chiron's brutal laughter howled down the long corridors as his red blade flashed a blurring dance of lights with the yellow of his aggressor. He met each blow easily, but recognized instantly the complex form of Juyo, mastered to a level one so young should not have known. Though it seemed the younger man was the greater Juyo master, Chiron was a greater fighter, capable in many forms, Juyo included, allowing him to predict the flow of the powerful blows brought against him.
This young man fought with skill, and with power, this is what Chiron had sought, and he knew instantly that the Force had made no error in it's selection. The hatred he felt was almost palpable, and it brought joy to his black soul.
His blade snapping to deflect a vicious slash at his midsection, Chiron thrust the boy hard into the wall, holding him pinned with his power, his blade held sharply at the young man's throat. His laughter was only just subsiding.
"Tell me, young one, why do you wear the robes of the Jedi?"

Torran was now pinned to the wall by this man's strength, " Be-*pant*Because i *pant pant* want to correct my mistakes!" As soon as he said this, Torran used a powerful force push, one much stronger than the last to blast the dark jedi off of him and then put his lightsaber back into it's holster quick and began shooting a large stream of bright yellow lightning that surged throughout a good portion of the room and directed at Chiron. " DIE!" He really didn't care if he lived or died at this point, he had failed in protecting Aiya, in protecting Soren, nothing mattered anymore.

The lightning arced into the crimson glow of Chiron's lightsaber, and he grinned wide with pleasure. Hatred was so strong with him, so potent, and only just begun to be untapped. Twisting his blade, directing the course of the lightning from him, Chiron held out a hand of his own, sending bolts of twisting purple lightning arcing at the younger Kel Dor.
"What mistakes are those then? It seems to me I've done you a favour."

" SHUT UP!" That was all Torran could say, this man, this evil man, Torran knew he was trying to manipulate him, he wasn't stupid, but what he said seemed to not be so unbearable to hear. Despite the furious battle going on in Torran's head, he threw up his lightsaber and siphoned the lightning into the yellow of his saber. He then used the force to levitate and ignite Aiya's purple shoto saber and hurl it at the man like a bullet.

Turning aside the missile with a deft flick of his blade, Chiron simply stood where he was.
"You hate me. With all that you are now, you hate me. You feel nothing but contempt, loathing, pure anger. Yet you feel stronger now, more powerful now than at any other moment in your life. Strike me if I lie, but search yourself, have you ever known yourself to possess this?" Chiron gestured to the levitating man.
"Mistakes? I see no mistakes, boy, I see greatness."
His arm shooting up, Chiron let the full force of his strength send the young man crashing into the wall, his blade slipping from his grasp. Chiron would suppress even the young man's great rage and hatred, and with his eyes dancing with lightning, "Look inwards, and tell me what you see."

"Greatness.....?" Torran thought just before he got slammed into the wall, hard. He didn't want to believe this man's words, but.......he was right. Never before had he felt power of this magnitude, sure he had been under the dark side's influence once before when he was still a padawan but never before had he felt like this. " I see.......me, a stronger me....and....you." He said slowly as he got up and winced with pain onto one knee. " Please.....teach me....so i can prevent someone i care for, from dissappearing..." He said with his head down, his eyes borring into the ground and his lightsaber a few feet out of his reach.

Chiron strode slowly to the young man, his boots ringing like thunder through the echoing pipelines. He stopped just before Torran, kneeling slowly, crouching and looking down at him.
"You seek to protect others," he whispered, "but why? You've not failed them, boy, they have failed you."
He reached down and lifted Torran's gaze to his own, far more gently than any would expect.
"I can show you the path the true power; a greatness the Jedi will never be able to understand, but it is you who must walk this path, and you alone. Love is limitless in it's power, ever many dark ones fail to understand this, but it is a lesson I shall never have to teach you; and hatred's strengths you are beginning to learn yourself. Know well what I do offer, for it is not protection for the weak, it is godhood for the strong!"
Chiron leaned close, his voice barely audible, "And you, boy, you are strong. Rise with me, and stand by my side."

" Yes.....master...." Torran said quietly as he rose slowly, pulling his lightsaber into his hand with the force and standing next to Chiron. Torran was a new man now, the old him was dead, dead just like Aiya, who's frozen stare met with Torran's as he walked over and picked up her green shoto, a spare weapon never hurt anyone. "What now master?" He asked the human man as he walked back over to him.

Chiron nodded quietly as the Kel Dor rose. "Toss aside those weapons, they are badges of past best left forgotten as a dream. You shall forge a new weapon to wield, one worthy of your powers."
He turned and began to tread the path through which they had come, navigating the maze of pipes with ease, as though he had been there his whole life. "My name, my apprentice, is Demetrius Chiron, at my father's behest. I keep it because he was too fearful to utter it as I took his life. You shall refer to me as 'master' at all times, lest I say otherwise. You will observe silently by my side save when I instruct you elsewhere, and I expect you to ever pay attention. The path you have chosen selects only those who ever prove their dedication and readiness to prove themselves, and though you have done well this day, much awaits you."
He stopped suddenly, his eyes boring into the soul of the apprentice, "Your name, my apprentice?"
