I love these movies! Ahahaha.
The first was amazing. The second was super amazing. The third was great. But I think after watching it again, I'll like it more.
They all have their faults, obviously, but as someone who hasn't read the comics or really any other understanding of Spidey, they were pretty damn good.
And now there are rumors floating around that the director Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire want to make two more films. Not just one, but two. Because someone wrote a script with this story arc that is too complicated for one film. (Will find links laters). So they're gonna shoot both of them simultaneously. That is, if they can get them made.
Apparently, Kirsten Dunst hasn't signed on yet.
And according to them, the villain is gonna be someone we already know, so I'm thinking Lizard is the most obvious choice.
Anyway.... Spidey! ;D
I hope these go through, and they're actually good. I mean, I was satisfied with the ending of 3, but they did leave a bit of a loose end, I think.

Personally, I want Carnage at some point, just for the sheer insanity of the character.

I think that would be awfully interesting as well. Just because my sister hates that villain the most, ahahaha.

IMO of course, the first one was good, the second one was better, and the third was crap.
Carnage and Venom, while cool appearance wise, are generally crap characters when you take into consideration the psychoanalytical (6 points on Scrabbel) and general affects they have on the characters. The symbiotes are all one-dimensional characters in the comics and so don't transfer over well on the big screen. If you were to replace Jason Vorhees or Freddy Keuger with Carnage it'd be sick because random mindless killing is what he does. But to try and put a more mature psyclogical angle on it would be disastrous, case in point Spiderman 3. The best of the three villains imo in SM3 was Sandman(kind of)m Harry as alright but he was retarded, and Venom was just boring.
He's still cool though.

Carnage would be awesome. But personally, I'd like to see Rhino, too.

The first was pretty good. The second in my opinion is among the top tier of comicbook movies. While I did enjoy the third, it had a few more glaring faults than the others.
I do think lizard would be a logical choice, although I feel that the good-scientist-gone-insane route has already been explored (and portrayed very very well) by Doc Ock.
Personally, I'd love to see Electro make his big screen debut.
By the way, anyone seen the Spectacular Spiderman cartoon? It. is. Awesome.

The first spiderman I... liked, the second I really liked. The third I have no memory of because every time I try and remember it my white blood cells start attacking my brain cells and i begin to seizure.
Now I am interested to hear a continuance. I think that if they do a two part story it will come off well. i just hope they don't butcher the trilogy like Pirates of the Caribbean. I don't think Toby can carry a whole movie like Depp can.

I must say Carnage would be friggin awesome to see in a Spiderman movie. I was rather irritated with the lack of Venom in the 3rd movie, i wanted to see scary Venom face and awesome Venom voice...NOT friggin Eric from That 70s Show!

I agree that I don't think Tobey could carry the films on his own. So I really hope they can get Kirsten Dunst to sign on and get a really good villain to help this story arc along.
But we'll see.

I personally don't see how they can possibly do a fourth one and give it a good story. The third movie basically tied up all the loose ends. Harry died, there's goes major plot line #1. Venom/Brock were incinerated, there goes plot line # 2. Peter's back together with Mary Jane, so there goes plot line # 3.
Now what? All of Spidey's most influential villains (Green Goblin, Harry, Venom, Otto), are deader then dead. All that's left is the crappy ones like Vulture and Rhino and Shocker are left. I suppose Black Cat but she's not a real villain and that'd resemble Batman Returns too much. If the throw in another symbiote like Carnage it'll suck because Carnage is a one dimensional character with no development, no plot, and no motive for doing anything; he's just insane.
Villains aside, what are they going to do with Peter the non-super hero? Have him break up with Mary Jane, again? For the third time? His problems wih Uncle Ben are at ease, he's beaten the practical issues with being Spiderman. The only obstacle that's movie worthy that I can think of is his secret identity being revealed to the public.
Honestly, IMO Spiderman doesn't have enough material left in just his world to make another movie. If he appears in anything else it should be as a cameo in other Marvel movies. Maybe give him a ten minute scene in an X-Man movie or something. Have him show up at Stark Tower I dunno.

Peter did not end up back with M.J. At the end, they basically broke up. I think she told him she just wanted to be friends with him. I haven't seen it in a while, but I think that's what happened. As for villains... the rumor is that it's someone we've already met, like I mentioned before. So Lizard is a strong possibility. And, really.. it seems that some villains just don't know how to die and keep coming back over and over again. I really don't know what will happen to Peter. All I know is that apparently Raimi thinks this new screenplay has an awesome enough story arc for him to be willing to do two more films. And I don't think Tobey would sign on either, if he didn't think it was worth it. Honestly, if it's done right, I think these two new films could be pretty good. As long as we don't have a dozen bad guys. And Tobey doesn't "dance" again.

I suppose they can do the Lizard. Thing about the Lizard is that he's a normal, rational individual when he's human but, like the Hulk, turns into a mindless machine of destruction when he turns into the Lizard, which he only does when he's under heavy stress. So he's more of an anti-hero than a full-time super villain, but it'd still make a good angle, if they show him as a good guy one minute and evil the next throughout the film. He's got a wife and son too, so that's another good angle.
I don't remember what happened between MJ and Peter either. I've only seen the film once, it was at midnight, and I was nearly drunk.

If you think there aren't enough Peter Parker stories, then what about a more villain-focused story?
Kraven's Last Hunt comes to mind.
Two villains are usually doable, and Lizard might make a good supporting villain. So would several others like Mysterio or Shocker.
