Hello SWURP Arheim (Ar-heem) here with a little curiosity on the subject on character pronunciations. I know it doesn't really matter how someone reads a name, but I figure if we could learn the proper way to do so, what the heck? So basically, just post your user names pronunciation as well as your characters. You can even give a little background as to where the name came from as well as request some help on deciding a name for a character-in-making. I'll start: Arheim- (Ar-heem) Everyone who reads this the first time seems to pronounce it Ar-hime, so here's some clarification. Many people will tell me, "Hey, isn't that one of the Barrows brothers from runescape?" This guys name is Ahrim runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Ahrim_the_Blighted very similar HOWEVER the inspiration for this name came actually from the fish monger of Catherby. Funny how these things work out isn't it? runescape.wikia.com/wiki/ArheinFalo Ilo'taak- (Fa-low ee-low-take) no real inspiration here, just me messing with some syllables. Rah Boralis- (Rah Bore-al-iss) Mrs. Boralis is our uniform attendant for our marching band....just a coincidence I think but who knows? Sean Mu'haro- (shawn Moo-harr-oh) His original name was David Henderson out of respect to a friend of the family by that name who was in the military, but too many people said that was to un-star warsy....and I kinda agree. The Sean is just another name not quite as bland as Dave but Mu'haro is a social caste of the Vell-os race in evn who don't fit anywhere specific so are required to serve all members of the other castes. Bit of Irony there since Sean is a rifle specialist. Your turn!

Hi there. I'm a newb here so I don't actually have any characters yet. My username (Elav) is pronounced exactly how it looks 'E-laahv' - long 'a' sound.
I found and compiled a list of Twi'lek names, both male and female. "Elav" is a common name amongst male Twi'leks, it means "scholar."
I chose this because I do have my first character planned out to some extent, and yes he will be a Twi'lek. I plan on using "Ilarith" for Elav's clan name. In Twi'leki, 'Ilar' means "ash" and 'firith' means "defender."
I mixed the two names to create a clan that performs burial rituals and preserves family histories. So therefore, Ilarith means "ash defender" or something similar.

I'm glad somebody finally got around to asking this kind of stuff, as I have plenty to offer as sort of gee-whiz information.
My name, and that of my namesake character both pronounced the same (Zay-o-gee) are parodies and have been parodied by myself on multiple occasions but they all were once one name: Xeojee. Xaojii actually is supposed to be the feminine counterpart to it, made to suit an alien character from a short story. I got Xeojee (Zee-o-gee) off of a long dead name generator after I figured it wouldn't be a good idea and be pretty boring to use my real name to RP with. It goes back to my RP forum and character. I'm working on getting all of them trademarked.
I recently found a Bio that was made the same day I created Xaojii, who I'm working on completing now. Apparently it was supposed to be a Force sensitive of some kind.
Celbus Bervold Tarkrus was taken straight off of a name generator that still exists and is quite easy to pronounce. Nothing special here. Recently I came across what appears to be a Bio of what could be his earliest prototype, made before SWURP 2 was made.
Jorek Talayen has several ways of spelling his last name. Basically it was just me messing around with syllables. Though not incredible by itself, Jorek is unique to me because of the way he started out. My Jedi Knight, Karcen Tarlo and him used to be one character starting off as a female Arkanian but eventually it got too large for me to handle as there were two facets of this one Jedi that I decided to split them. The reason why neither of them are female is because I'm just really bad at RPing one.

Hey, good idea. I always wonder sometimes if I'm saying characters' names in my head right. Well, for me: Mara: I always say it kind of like "mar-ah." Instead of "mare-ah." As for Xierra Salq: "Zee-era Salk" basically. Kind of sierra, but with a zee sound instead. Trevil Lora'nthe: "Trev-ill" is pretty easy. The last name, well, I'm not much for Bothan pronunciation, but I imagine it would be kind of like "Lora-anthee" or something. And Ean Stenner: An easy one, Ean is pronounced like the name "Ian" and Stenner is just "sten-ner." If it's not clear, I can try to explain better.

Dani - Pretty straight-forward, no? Just as you'd imagine it would be in our universe.
Nazante Vos - Nah-zahn-tea V-awe-s

Simple, ja? Or not...

My Shistavanen char's name is Vrill Vonn. Kind of an odd name I know, but hey I like V's. For his first name, act like you're going to say "vroom" but switch the ending to "ill" - I dunno how else to try and explain it. His clan name is easy: Vaahn. Long A sound. Vrill's alias, and my account name is: Kuh-tar.

Adding in the character I'm making right now.
Rn'Cherii: this is a tricky one as it is pronounced in the Tarong tongue. It's Ren-Share-ee but the "R" in Ren is staccato and rolled while share-ee is almost whistled. The whole thing kinda crescendos and...uh...you know what? Just call him Ren.
