Master Kil Gorn was happy with the boy's response. He believed he would make a good student for Kil Gorn to take on. He had decided on his last trip around the galaxy that he needed to teach a new apprentiance. The galaxy was moving on but the Order needed a Jedi like himself in the next generation. Kil Gorn was becoming old for his race he did not want his knowledge to go into the force without being passed on. He now spoke to Jace from where he stood,
"May I take the youngling Jarael with me please. I have much to discuss with him."
He then turned his attention to the youngling, "I see and how do you feel about this problem."

Jace listened intently to each students answer, and gave a slight nod as they did, showing approval of their courage. Before he could respond, he noticed a familiar presence in the room.
"Ahh Master Kil Gorn, my class seems to be a magnet for Council members. Oh and yes by all means please, you may of course talk with Jarael" He finished with a slight bow to his fellow council member.
Jace was happy to see that younglings seemed to be finding masters, Jace felt like he had found a padawan himself, but he needed to wait until the class was over. He continued on with the lesson, taking each students fault and explaining it.
"I want each of you to know, that what you have all done is very courageous. It takes a lot of character to admit ones fault, so don't be ashamed young ones.
Now Tem, you must stop doubting yourself so much, self doubt can lead you down dangerous paths or it could lead you nowhere. You must convince yourself that you are capable of doing whatever you need to do. Remember, if you think you can't then you won't, you must believe that you can first.
Gusha, we have hundreds of Jedi of many different races, they are doing just fine. Some of the strongest Jedi did not let their physical form hinder them from being accomplished Jedi. Your physical form is just something which is insignificant, your form in the force is what is important. Each one of us has our own problems and roadblocks to get by, we must trust in the force to help us guide it past them. Yet Gusha, I sense that you will receive the proper motivation and training for size not to hinder you.
Talarian, I bring hers up last because it is one of the most dangerous. Do not fret Talarian for fear is one of the greatest and most common foe we all face. It may be fear of death, or fear of hurting someone, or even fear of letting someone down. We must rid ourselves of fear and not let it control us. If fear has control of you, it is a clear path to the dark side from there. When you begin fear, you must trust in the force, that what ever is happening which is causing you to be scared, is for a reason. You must remember that if something happens, it is because it was the will of the force, and hence you should not be afraid. You must always keep this in mind young ones, that all things are the will of the force, and hence you must let the force guide you away from fear.
Now for your last exercise of the day, I am not going to teach you anything per se. I want each of you to ask me a question, which has been bothering you, or which you have wanted to know. It can be about anything, and I will do my best to answer it."
He ended with a smile on his face, he knew they probably weren't expecting that. This way he could see what was on the younglings minds, and hopefully clear some misconceptions or doubts they may have. He might learn something new as well, and he didn't want to teach too much in one lesson.

Jarael was surprised to be asked to be seen. He got up from his knees and walked over to the Jedi Master. He bowed his head. Hie braid fell down to his cheek again. Jarael stepped out of the room with Master Kil Gorn, and there answered his question. "I feel pain about the subject of my parents and usually try to keep the thought of them from my mind. Jedi aren't allwoed to have attachments."

Talarian closed her eyes, thinking. So many questions swirled through her mind- how could she choose just one? Finally, she opened her eyes and spoke. "How do we receive guidance from the Force? If it is not an entity, a tangible being, how does it know what is best for us? And how do weknow when it is trying to lead us?"
Ending her multi-part question, Tal sat back to wait.

After his long discussion with the nautolan initiate, Kur Deruh, Balek decided to continue on his way to the council chambers. His thoughts still contemplating the possibility of taking on his first apprentice, now that he had become a full-fledged jedi knight. Stroking his snout, in the same fashion he had done for decades now when he found himself pensive, he walked down the great hallways of the temple.
While immerse in his thoughts, he was startled by a sudden change in the air. His training in environment alteration, and his Caamasi sense of smell, made him very sensitive to changes in pressure, temperature and humidity in the air. A faint smell of sweat guided him down a particular hall, and to a particular room, even before he felt the presence of some of the greatest names in the order today: Council members Jace Beleren, Kil Gorn and Vreem Took. What could have prompted this meeting, he did not know, but it must be something of vital importance, he thought to himself.
Nearing the door to the room, Balek notices master Took leave the room, accompanied by a small nautolan girl. His padawan, probably, although she looked rather young to be a padawan. They do not notice Balek, apparently, but nevertheless, he bows down expressing his respects to the council member, and his young apprentice, before proceeding to the door.
He could hear master Beleren speak inside the room. " I want each of you to ask me a question, which has been bothering you...", he said, which made Balek aware of the fact he was not spying on a secret council meeting, but an initiate lesson; the sweat that led him here, probably from a sparring lesson.
Balek walked inside the room, immediately bowing down to the two remaining council members in the room, and afterwards to the younglings present at the lesson. "Master Beleren. I apologize for interrupting your lesson, but, if I may, I would like to sit in on your lesson, if it is alright with you and your students...", he said with a playful smile on his face.

Jace was waiting for Tem to ask his question, but he noticed yet another presence enter the room. He turned to see a familiar Caamasi, and bowed slightly in welcome.
"Ahh Consular Ak'qli, another pleasant surprise, of course you may sit in on the lesson. I am afraid that it is nearing its end but your presence is welcome no matter how short a time."
He listened to Talarian's question, it was an interesting one, but also one that many younger Jedi wondered about.
"The first step in receiving guidance from the force, is that you must believe that you can receive guidance. I have stated again and again, because it is so crucial, you must have an open mind. Only when you have accepted the fact that the force can guide, that it will actually guide you.
We all have mitichlorians in us, these microscopic organisms tend to have a higher concentration in Jedi. We can listen to what they say, and hence how we are able to use the force in ways others can not. Since we have a symbiotic relationship, what is best for them is also best for us.
Your last question is probably the hardest to explain, because there is no true explanation. To each Jedi, the way they listen and interpret is different. I can not tell you when it is leading you, only you will be able to recognize that. There have been many times where I have gotten a notion to go to a certain place yet I do not know why. I trust in the force to guide me, and it always has showed me the right path. It will be the same for you, just listen and you will know. Remember though, don't expect the force do give you specific directions, it can be quite vague"
Jace had let the force guide him more times then he could remember. There were times when it helped him avoid a dangerous situation, and others where it got him into them, but it always ended up for the better.

"Thank you very much, master."
Quickly, but quietly enough as not to disturb the lesson in progress, Balek took a seat behind one of the attending younglings. A Hutt, strangely enough, but he didn't dwell on those kind of thoughts too long. After all, Caamasi Jedi are not all that common...
Nevertheless, his excitement was obvious, almost palpable. It is an honor for Balek to be schooled in the education of young minds, by such a renowned master. This is the reason he left his homeworld after years of meditation: To learn the way of the teacher, the protector, the guide in the force.
Master Beleren continued with the lesson, answering an atypically complex question, with the eloquent, yet laconic vocabulary expected from a jedi master of such high standing in the order. Even dealing with the cryptic nature of the force, his answer seemed concise enough to appeal to the younglings, and, however different Balek's answer would be, he felt truly fortunate to witness young pupils on their way to enlightenment through the force.

Striding down one of the many hallways on padded feet, Krasis's booming voice; which seemed to serve as a cross between a growl and the Basic tongue, permeated the stone walls of the Jedi Temple "Too rough on them am I? Hmmph.. I'm sure they won't be saying that when their life is on the line in some forsaken system with no one but themselves to depend on."
Absently cracking his neck to relieve the tension, a slow rumble deep in his throat erupted into a chuckle "The big bad Cathar making them do calisthetics... Ah well, better to be thought harsh and depart skill instead of being lax and ill-preparing them I suppose." The truth was, that ever since he had returned from his last adventure on the Outer Rim, he had been seeking more meaning in his life rather then being a front-liner for the Order; one could only dwell in combat for so long before it took its toll on the body and he had nearly crossed that threshold. When he had returned, Master Tharen had suggested that he take up the mantle of a teacher but instructing younglings in how to maximize their bodies potential had only served as a diversion; there had to be more to it then merely guiding younglings into the arms of other prospective masters...
Contemplating his choices, he caught the distinct sound of Master Beleren's voice... They had met only the one time; his Master had frequently came to Beleren for both professional and personal advice when it had been warranted and Krasis had been certain that they still shared a close friendship despite the years. Appearing within the doorway with the hope to pick Master Beleran's brain for advice, the large Cathar stooped slightly so that the archway would accommodate his height while inclining his head to those gathered. Remaining silent until a lapse in the lesson allowed him the opportunity to speak, his words came out in a slow rumble filled with good natured ribbing "Master Beleran, it seems you have quite the entourage.. I was wondering if you could use one more?" A feral grin seemed to rest on his leonine features as he spoke "Also, I was told that if I were ever to meet you in passing to send Master Tharen's regards.. Or at least thats what he said before heading off for another historical site."

Gusha noticed that many more of the senior masters had joined the group in the last few minutes. What an interesting day this had been so far. Gusha noticed that the question that had been asked had been answered of Master Beleren. Gusha had something that had been eating at him for a while now, "Master why at 13 are Jedi sent to the Agri-Corps?"

Jace had just finished answering Talarian's question when he heard a gruff voice and turned to meet its speaker. He let a small smile pass on his face, as he turned to see a big Cathar standing before him.
"Guardian Varn, you are the next to continue to make this class a very surprising one. I have now had visits from the Grand Mistress, two other Council members and now a Consular and Guardian. You are of course welcome to stay and please send my regards to Master Tharen next time you see him."
He then turned back to the students as he heard the young Hutt pose yet another question. This was quite a tough question, especially for Master like himself to answer, for it was a delicate situation.
"Well Gusha, it was deemed long ago that if a student was not picked by a Master at the age of 13 then they lacked the ability to become true Jedi. The Jedi Order and its culture holds a great deal of importance in the relationship between Master and Padawan. Also they may not be sent to the AgriCorps but also to the Medical,Education, or Exploration Corps depending on their skills. Sadly not every youngling will be chosen as a Master, that is the nature of the cycle. You must never think about it though, for every second you waste thinking about failure, is every second you lose in succeeding."
He had planned to end the lesson there, but he wanted to see if the two Knights had any questions. You didn't necessarily have to be a youngling to have doubts and questions.
"Krasis and Balek, my planned content for this lesson is finished but that does not necessarily make the class over. If either of you would have anything you would like to know, or discuss privately with me, or possibly the younglings then please go ahead and do so."
Jace had a council meeting to attend to, but that wasn't until later in the day. He would have to find Vreem and maybe see if he could begin teaching more frequently.

Talarian listened to Master Beleren's answer. It made a lot of a sense. And clarified a few things, too. "Thank you Master." she murmured, then turned her attention to the young Hutt that sat- or stood, or whatever it was that Hutt's did- nearby.
She looked to Master Beleren as he answered. It was a question that had interested her, too. It had always seemed...unfair, to her. It was as the Master spoke to someone else that Tal first noticed someone else in the room- two Knights, sitting and standing nearby, apparently listening in on the training session.
Tal regarded them with interest. She always enjoyed seeing Jedi she had never met before. They always seemed to have this aura of mystery about them- at least, they did until she learned who they were. She watched them with interest.

"Thank you for the kind invitation Master" Nodding in thanks at the warm welcome, he listened as the lesson was essentially summed up and yet still remained silent until the floor had been essentially left open for questions and interpretations.
After carefully phrasing the question from within, his rumbling baritone voice seemed to escape from deep within his throat "Master, how does one know when the time is right to make a drastic change in ones role in the grand scheme of the Force? Is there a sign from above that passes on that you are worthy or is it more a moral prerogative that causes someone to take up a different mantle within the Jedi Order?" Drawing a hand across his furred cheeks he had consciously chosen to sit among-st the younglings; perhaps implying that even when a Jedi passes the trials, the learning experience never really ends...
Glancing at the various younglings for a long moment, he turns his attentions back toward Master Beleren "If I could ask something of a more personal nature to shed more light on this; when did you feel the calling to take on a Padawan learner? What made the decision rest a bit more comfortably on your shoulders?" Absently sucking on one of his enlarged canines he presented a stoic demeanor even as his mind raced This teaching and imparting knowledge to the next generation fits my current situation... That conniving Master of mine knew I would take pleasure in this ever since we left the Pacanth Reach.. Still bearing a feral smile, this time at the memory of his time spent as a Padawan, he awaited any and all advice that could be offered up to assuage his concerns..

This day, the somewhat obscure nature of the force, was unmistakably limpid. There was no question in Balek's mind as to why the force had led him to this particular training room, after Krasis Varn, a jedi knight like himself in many ways, also searching for wisdom and clarity in his next step in life, presented master Beleren with the same question he was about to ask.
"Master, my question... Is exactly the same as master Varn's. The force is unclear and cryptic at the best of times, well, with the exception of it leading me to this room, obviously." Balek grinned slightly, looking around the younglings' faces, seeking a smile or so, and started stroking his snout once again. "However, master the interrogant remains. How does one know if the time has come to pass on your teachings to others?"
In silent meditaton, but still with a smile across his hirsute face, he awaited the elder master's answer.

Jace's smile began to grow wider as Varn explained his question, for he knew where it was going. It was not the first time that he had knights come to him unsure of when to take the next step. Varn then asked Jace about when he was ready, he stroked his goatee lightly, and let out a hearty laugh.
"Well lets just say that my story wasn't exactly the one of those you would call picture book. As I am sure both of you well know, the most common way to achieve the rank of Master is to get your padawan to pass the trials. My case was quite different, it happens rarely but the council granted me the rank of Master based on my exploits as a shadow."
There was no pride in his voice at all, he was just merely stating what had occurred so they could understand his story as completely as possible.
"As a Shadow, I had no opportunity to take meet other Jedi let alone take on a padawan. So when I returned and was given the rank of Master, I was charged to find a padawan and train them.
I found this quite hard, as you can see I rarely teach classes, since I have always been hesitant since I became a shadow. Anyways I walked among the classes, and it took me many months, but something drew me to a young Kel Dor.
I can tell you this, there is no true explanation as to why a Master chooses an apprentice. You may try to rationalize it later by saying how they fit your personality and things of that matter. In truth though, it is just the plain will of the force, you are drawn to them.
I may have been ready to pass my knowledge on years before I found a padawan, but the right person to pass it on hadn't appeared yet. So do not fret about whether you are ready or not, and do not try to get every padawan to be your apprentice. You of course must search for an apprentice, but the force shall give you that nudge and let you know when it is time.
Just so you both know, usually when a Knight comes and asks these sorts of questions, it means that they are ready to take on a padawan. The force has given you that nudge in your curiosity, and now you are acting on it.
Watching your padawan grow and ascend to knighthood is one if not the most enriching experiences of a Jedi's life."
He finished with that line, for in truth, many feared taking on a padawan. They feared that they would be held back by them, that they would fail at being a good teacher. Jace had many of these same feelings initially but not anymore.

Inclining his head slightly toward Balek Ak'qli as both seemed to mirrored the same concerns, his face remained impassive as Master Beleren shared his insights with the two aspiring teachers "Well at-least I don't have to learn a secret handshake in order to teach." As flippant as his tone seemed, Krasis had always allowed his actions speak louder then his irreverent nature; no matter how far away or how much danger a member of the Order may have been in, he had always been eager to rush to their aid... This was his family and if one was expected to be strict and stoic with ones family... He would remain being the pariah.
"Seeking a Padawan-learner hopefully won't be that large of an issue I think Master Beleren." Rising to his feet with a faint snort as he digested Master Beleren's words en masse, his vertically slitted eyes seemed to study each of the younglings in turn "I was speaking with an old friend of mine who takes a more direct hand in training the younglings...It seems that one of your charges has made it a habit to sneak into the training hall after the lights went out for extra practice" Walking in behind the younglings, he momentarily paused behind each of the aspiring padawans until finally stopping in-behind Gusha nonchalantly "It's a good thing that this individual hadn't been found by me... Otherwise he may have found what little time he had to himself spent in the training hall whether he liked it or not." Shrugging his shoulders slightly while barely concealing a gruff looking grin, the Guardian made a slight bow toward both Master Beleren and Balek Ak'qli "Thank you for your guidance Master Beleren and hopefully Balek you found your answer as I did."
Making his way toward the door's archway {once again stooping to accommodate his height} his head turned to his right slightly as his eyes locked with Gusha's "Seems we need to talk young one.. Unless of course Master Beleren requires your presence or you're content to stay here." Allowing his words to drift into the classroom rather then bark them out as so many were accustomed to him doing, his mind raced; what Gusha needed was the strength to take the battle to those who preyed upon the weak and the endurance to withstand the aftermath.... Who better then a practitioner of Teräs Käsi?

The remaining younglings in the room had quieted down as the masters had their own discussion. It was rare that Gusha had seen this many masters in a room together. It really was a good morning. Gusha listened as Master Beleren had answered the questions of the other two masters. Gusha tried to absorb the wisdom of all that was said by Masters Beleren, Varn and Ak'qil.
It wasn't long before he noticed that Master Varn was up and talking. He was speaking to Master Beleren of finding a Padawan. He mentioned a youngling being found in the practice hall after lights out. Gusha suddenly felt embarrassed and tried to sink down, which is impossible for a Hutt simply by nature of their biology. Without a doubt he felt very sheepish at this moment. Before Master Varn left he turned to look at Gusha directly Saying "Seems we need to talk young one.. Unless of course Master Beleren requires your presence or you're content to stay here."
Gusha had no idea what to say. He had never had met Master Varn before and here the Jedi was asking to speak to him later. Was this his time to be chosen as a Padawan. He was definitely of the correct age. He turned to Master Beleren. "Master, Permission to be excused?"

Talarian glanced at Gusha. After he left, she'd be the last younger Jedi just sitting there. The prospect made her heart sink. She'd be alone. Again. She waited to see what would happen, twiddling her thumbs together. She'd spend the time after the class with her lightsaber. Maybe. She secretly hoped this Master-finding luck would extend to her. There seemedto be plenty of luck to go around- and Masters too. One never knew...

Tem came out his meditation suddenly and found the training chamber surprisingly empty, he searched the force for what had happened and learned of all the other younglings had left with different masters, now it was only him, Gusha Talarian, which made him feel slightly down and a little upset as he had not participated in the class. He realized all the other younglings where getting a masters, but yet he was not. Tem looked up at Master Beleren, wanting to speak up, but he stopped himself <You will find a master someday, just calm yourself> He thought.
Suddenly a booming voice jarred Tem from his thoughts, the Cather Jedi was talking as he walked behind the younglings "I was speaking with an old friend of mine who takes a more direct hand in training the younglings...It seems that one of your charges has made it a habit to sneak into the training hall after the lights went out for extra practice" he said as Tem felt his presents behind him "It's a good thing that this individual hadn't been found by me... Otherwise he may have found what little time he had to himself spent in the training hall whether he liked it or not." Tem was suddenly worried, he feared that the large, imposing Jedi was talking about him, he scolded himself for his late practices <I knew I'd get caught eventually> He thought to himself, struggling to keep from giving Master Varn and reason to suspect further, though the Guardian could probably read his thoughts.
After Master Varn left with youngling Gusha, Tem saw that only Master Beleren, Talarian, and another Jedi that Tem had never seen before were left along. Tem looked at the Jedi, a Caamasi if he remembered correctly, though Tem had never actually seen a Caamasi before. Tem studied the Jedi closely, the air around him seemed to tingle with life, the force permeated off him and Tem could see that he was very strong in force.
Tem then looked at Master Beleren again, and there was something about the master that caught Tem's attention, Tem could feel the force flowing into the young council member as if he was looking for something, he noticed a smile cross Beleren's face and he looked down at Talarian.

Jace watched slightly amused as Varn moved through the younglings and then finally ended up on Gusha. He once again repeated his favorite phrase in his head.
Ahhh the joys of youth
He turned at Gusha's request and bowed slightly to both Krasis and Gusha.
"By all means Gusha, you are excused and I hope my class wasn't too boring. Be sure to stop by Varn, it was nice to have such a lively presence around."
He looked at the other two, with a light smile on his face. They both seem slightly disheartened at the fact that they were the last two. Jace looked at both of them and for once let out a broad smile.
"Not to worry you two, I forsee that you neither of you will be sent away to the Jedi Corps so take heart for now!"
(Sorry for the short post, I just wanted to let Prodigal and Gusha get on with their training)

Gusha bowed to Master Beleren, "Master, thank you. I enjoyed your class, It was very helpful. May the force be with you." With that Gusha turned to and left the room. He was eager to find Master Varn, and find out what he would like to talk to Gusha for.
