IMPORTANT OOC:
Shareholders (Look Below) not only create missions but they supervise them as well, playing the part of NPCs, setting obstacles for their employees to overcome, etc. They’re like storytellers in a giant interactive story. I believe another term would be GM.

Edessa Security Systems Limited
“Taking you into the Future”
Services:
Firstly the ESS is a leading company in space craft development and manufacture, whether for war or luxury. They are currently fuelling fleets for both the Republic and Sith, among other factions. Other than that they have minor interests in almost all aspects of life. The ESS also offers everything from shipping protection to planetary security nets and is the foremost company for military space defence contracting.
Allegiances:
None. While they serve both the Republic and Sith, the quality/quantity of ships provided is directly proportional to the resources at hand (Planets Owned by Faction). Also, despite the fact that all in the end answer to the board of directors, you’ll find the technological differences and ship designs can vary depending on which faction’s space they are being built. This is due to a mutual contract each HQ has with its presiding faction. Research paid for by a faction belongs to that faction.
Captain’s Guild:
As a subsidiary of the company, the captains are somewhat independent of the ESS with little directive other than to do what they can to increase the companies influence/profit. Whether through exploration, security details, bounty hunting, colonization, research, or other pursuits, each Captain has an obligation to aid the company or stand the chance of losing their funding and ship. On the other hand, excellence is rewarded by increased funding, better ships, etc; some Captains even own several research facilities, space stations, and the like.
While Captains technically work for the ESS, the company tends to turn a blind eye towards their activities, shielding them from liability. The ESS cannot be held accountable for its Captains unless it can be proven that the Captain under suspicion was under direct orders from a board member.
Basically, Captains of the ESS (outside their private security force) have little to no restrictions placed on them. They have no dress code and no restricted targets (except for ESS assets).
ESS note on complaints:
If you wish to file a complaint against a Captain, please contact our Inquiries Office.
If you are an employee of a military faction or aligned to one in any way, please notify the Inquiries Office of this; they will send you the appropriate forms. To ensure a thorough investigation we require that you fill the forms out in triplicate and -- along with an ID to verify your standing -- personally deliver each one to the offices located on the following planets: Korriban, Coruscant and Nar Shaddaa. Have a nice day.

Science Division:
No matter the field it’s almost guaranteed the ESS is involved, from something as simple as toothpaste to the latest and meanest turbo laser.
Security Division:
Currently the ESS owns one of the largest private security forces in space, better equipped and paid than any standing army at the moment, with a fleet to match (if not in numbers). ESS as fleet elements spread from muunlist to corrusant, but the majority of its forces are focused within the outer rim and the cooperate sectors.
Structure:
Board of Directors:
Major Shareholder – NPC (Valoth)
Minor Shareholders – Open
The board of directors consists of a group of prestigious men and women which have the ability to plot the course/priority of the company.
IMPORTANT OOC:
Shareholders not only create missions but they supervise them as well, playing the part of NPCs, setting obstacles for their employees to overcome, etc. They’re like storytellers in a giant interactive story. I think another term would be GM.

Executives:
Chief Executive Officer – Unavailable
Chairman – Unavailable
Research Director – Open
Spokesperson – Open
The executives take a more active role in the company than the shareholders, usually arriving in person to take care of matters for the board. The CEO is of course the one who calls all the shots while the chairman supervises; to assure the board the CEO is working in their interest.
Fleet Executives:
Council of Admirals – Open
Admiral Jahai Draken
Deputy Admirals – Open
Individual Ship Captains – Open
Current Activities:
Republic Space:
- The ESS is involved in an ongoing argument with the senate concerning the lack of freedoms afforded the ESS in comparison to those allowed in Sith space.
- The ESS is attempting to acquire permission for the delivery of resources from Republic owned planets to Sith owned planets -- On the look out for a keen businessman within the Senate.
Sith Space:
- The ESS needs to secure several sectors within Sith space due to a lack of Sith patrols. The advisory board has recommended contacting a Sith admiral to open negotiations.
General Space:
- The Republic and Sith continue to enforce a limit on the size of the ESS fleet. While most of the ESS’s work is done by Captains on contract, the lack of a sizeable private fleet to command hinders the ability to protect ESS assets.
- Relations with the Hutts has grown tenuous. Have yet to decide whether to renegotiate terms with the Hutts, or terminate the contract… NB: Termination would likely mean the need for increased security in Hutt Space.
- Neither Dark Jedi or Jedi have agreed to examination by the ESS; considering alternative methods.
