Bio:
Barragan was born on the Noghri home planet of Honoghr into the clan of the Sul'tair. The Sul'tair was one of the few clans which prided itself on not only martial dominance but also higher intelligence than the other clans. Noghri had not known it when he was born of course, but his path in life had been chosen for him. He was Noghri, he was going to become a warrior. The Noghri race were widely known for their martial prowess, and many had become either assassins or bodyguards. Funnily enough, Barragan's future career would be somewhere in smack in the middle of these two.
The Noghri race also was a clan centered race, and Barragan never had a lack of people to learn from or just to be around. At a very young age Barragan began his training to truly be part of one of the most deadliest races in all the galaxy. He had gone through rigorous physical and even mental trials which had been dictated by the clan elders. Barragan had shown not only that he had a high ability to fight but also that he was also quite intelligent. Even at the young age of 12 this brought great pride to Barragan, considering that his clan was one of the elite. Barragan continued to work hard, not only in fighting but also in expanding his knowledge.
Years of intense training had finally payed off and at the age of 17,Barragan learned that he was to go and join the army of the Republic. Barragan wasn't surprised since he had the Noghri in his clan were always sent to join the Republic Military. He never knew why until this day, when the Matriarch finally explained the reason. She told him that a group of Republic soldiers had once saved her back before she became the clan Matriarch. The Noghri were known for being fiercely loyal, so this was more than enough reason for doing what she did.
Barragan and the Academy/Basic Training
Barragan newly enlisted and fresh recruit in the Academy, was quite ahead of the curve in respect to physical fitness. The Noghri weren't exactly known for being the most talkative race, so it wasn't unusual that Barragan really didn't have any friends. Though as training went on, Barragan seemed to gain respect from many of his classmates for his ability. He soon formed a bond with the people he regularly trained with, and even though Barragan usually only offered a grunt, they tended to work together quite well.
They went though many squad based training exercises throughout training in the Academy and Barragan's superiors noticed that Barragan seemed to be a natural leader. He was given a chance to prove himself as a squad leader in a mock battle and preformed quite well. He was later told that if superiors noted the exceptionally talented soldiers and those with an aptitude for leading, and eventually passed it on to higher ups. Though it didn't effect Barragan's career at the early stages it still would eventually play a part later in his life.
Though Barragan was talented at some things, he learned that he wasn't the best shot around. Barragan was exceptional in close combat like most members of his race. Even with his small size, he was not only fast but powerful. He preferred to get "Up Close and Personal" as some of his Academy mates had phrased it. He worked hard to improve his skills with blasters, but he only really seemed to be a decent pistol shot.
With this in mind, Barragan had finally reached an end to a time in the Academy. Barragan had passed with remarkably high scores even in the areas which most of his kind would do mediocre in.
Barragan..The Early Military Career(Pre Spec Ops)
Barragan with his exceptional skills and performance in the Academy was immediately granted the rank of Private First Class. Barragan had joined the regular Infantry Corps after graduating from the Academy. There wasn't much action for the first couple years but then again there wasn't too much going on. Barragan continued to train, participate in the various military exercises, and for the most part keep to himself.
The Military soon began to take notice of Barragan's martial prowess and overall ability to remain almost silent. He was soon ordered to join a more specialized squad in the army which focused on reconnaissance and stealth tactics. This was not special operations per se but it was the base for Barragan's special ops training. Barragan, now a corporal was part of a smaller more close knit squad. Due to his ability to remain almost completely silent, he became the scout of the squad. His job mainly involved going ahead of the squad alone and scouting out various positions. While only a few were really suited for this type of job, Barragan was definitely one of them. He knew that the life of his squad mates depended highly on what he saw and reported. He decided which paths were safe and which could be dangerous. Barragan also every so often had to take out a enemy patrol quietly, which once again suited him perfectly.
One mission, Barragan and his team were to scout out an enemy base of some disgruntled faction. They got missions like this all the time, but this one was quite different from the others. Barragan had gone to scout ahead, and while he was out, his team was ambushed. Barragan made his way back as quickly as he could, when he got the distress call over his comm. He made his way back, and the attackers thinking they had the whole squad trapped, found they had made a grave mistake. Barragan like a ghost flanked the ambushers and picked them off one by one. He did it so silently the others had no idea, until they finally realized and bugged out as those Navy pilots had said. Barragan had managed to save his other two squadmates but found that the leader of his squad was dead. Barragan looked up at both the other squad members, and they had that fire in their eyes that Barragan knew so well. They weren't going home, not yet, they had a mission to do. Barragan, being the next highest rank, assumed command, and the other two followed him without a word.
Barragan returned to base later and filed his usual report, well it wasn't exactly the same as the others. The next day he was called to the commander's office and found out that he had been bumped up to Staff Sergent and awarded a commendation for his actions. Barragan was placed permanently in charge of the squad with his new rank. Barragan was slowly making a name for himself for his abilities and his actions in the field.
It was not until Barragan was a Sergeant Major that he realized he wanted to take his military career to the next level. Barragan had heard all sorts of rumors and stories from over the years, he felt that he should join. He had talked with with some various superiors and they all suggested that it was about time he asked to join. It was at the age of 25 in which Sergeant Major Barragan Sul'tair joined the Elite Republic Special Forces.
Barragan enlisted into the special forces, and found the training to be much tougher than what he had in the regular army. This was not a problem for Barragan, in fact it was quite the opposite and much to his liking. Barragan soon learned that the Special Forces was everything he had heard and then some. The soldiers were all experienced, battle hardened, serious people. Barragan soon learned that the distinction he had received in his years in the Army was common to almost every soldier in the special forces.
Barragan soon learned that Squads and Squad tactics were the essential lifeline to the special forces. He was immediately thrust into a four man squad just like he was a part of in the army. The leader of the squad was a gruff yet inspiring captain who had done things that surprised even Barragan. He focused hard on bringing the members closer together, so they could work together more efficiently, knowing how he of the others thinks. Barragan due to his previous position in the army, was once again found himself scouting. Every one of the soldiers in the squads was quite proficient at everything yet they all seemed to be better at one thing, making the squad a deadly combination.
Barragan and the squad were usually thrust into areas of unrest that were important to the republic or at least so the aristocrats claim. Their missions were not dissimilar from what he did back in the army except now instead of just being a reconnaissance team, they penetrated and annihilated. Barragan soon learned that the Special forces did so many things which go unnoticed and unappreciated by others. Many of the things they did would never reach the light of day but it came with the job as the say. Barragan had heard that it was rare for scouts such as himself to gain commisioned positions that's why it came as a surprise to him when he was called to the Commanders office a year after he joined Spec Ops.
The Captain had put in a recommendation for promotion, and Barragan had been promoted to Second Lieutenant. Barragan was now a commissioned officer in the Republic Military. The next surprise came when he was handed his new assignment. He was to to become an instructor in the Special Forces training camp, more specifically in hand-to-hand and close range combat. Barragan was loyal to his duties, but he was also loyal to his squad, for once he felt a pang of sadness at leaving his squad but he had a duty to the newer generation.
Barragan trained Special Ops personnel in Close combat for almost a full year. He wasn't exactly the teacher that the students would try to talk to but they respected him and his skills. Barragan also found it refreshing to watch soldiers improve and progress and every once in awhile best him in combat. After his year was up as ordained, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and received new orders. These orders were like none he had ever received before but they said he was the best capable soldier for the situation.
Barragan was ordered to go undercover as a bodyguard for a mob boss and gather as much information as possible. He understood his reason for being chosen, his race was widely known as bodyguard, and with his training and abilities he could gather quite a good bit of information. So Barragan spent the better part of the year 'protecting' a criminal. He kept confidential notes of the syndicate, its operations, were its locations were, anything one could need he had got. Near the end of the year, Barragan got the signal that the Republic was ready to make his move. The Special Forces using Barragan's information had positioned the troops in a cross galaxy raid on multiple pubs, safehouses, and personal residences. Barragan personally arrested the Crime Lord and with that brought to end one of the biggest Crime Syndicates in the Galaxy.
Barragan finally returned to Special Operations headquarters, he was surprised to hear that many had heard of his efforts. He received many congratulations and free drink and on top of all of that he was promoted to the rank of Captain for his efforts. Barragan learned that he was to choose 3 other members of his choice and form a squad which he would be in command of. Barragan wasted no time and began weeding out candidates for the squad which would work with him and work with each other the best. After a month of grueling yet satisfying process, Barragan finally found all 3 members of the Squad he was looking for.

Omega squad had dispatched to the planet, to deal with some radical aristocrat who was enslaving the people. Their mission was designation was simple, infiltrate the camp and eliminate the aristocrat. Of course while the order itself may sound simple, it wasn't exactly a walk in the park. Omega squad had been lying in wait just outside the compound perimeter. The compound was actually the Aristocrat's mansion partly turned into a fortress but it wasn't without weaknesses.
He heard Static on his comm and then a click
"Lead..."
He clicked his comm and responded
"This is Lead, go ahead Reach"
Another quick hiss of Static
"Found what looks like an unused back entrance, overgrown with plant life, explains why it doesn't seem to be heavily guarded. There is a guard who is patrolling near the area but seems to keep his distance as to not suggest where the entrance is."
"Roger that Reach, ghost the guard, we will rendevous at your location in 5..out"
Five minutes later Omega squad rendezvoused at the overgrown entrance, and as expected, there was no guard in site. Barragan gave a quick series hand signals which indicated for Reach and Heavy to clear the door while Anvil would prime the door with explosives. Thermal had suggested there were two guards right behind in this door, inside the compound. The compound wasn't too heavily defended, so Barragan didn't mind making a little noise. Anvil gave Barragan a thumbs up and signaled for anyone to back away. Barragan turned to Anvil, nodded his head, and there was an explosion.
Heavy and Barragan burst through the door, swiveling their weapons from left to right, scanning the area. He was surprised when no one came running. Another series of hand motions, and the squad moved in slowly, and began to spread.
"Man those guys got squashed.."
"I think I stepped in somebody's stomach"
"Cut the Chatter you two."
As the squad made their way to the interior of the compound, Barragan would hear intermittent clicking on his comm signaling it was clear. Barragan heard voices and signaled for the squad to take cover. He peaked around the corner and saw two guards walking and looking quite bored. Barragan pointed at Heavy and Anvil and then clenched his fist, signaling them to hold. He then pointed at himself and Reach and drew a quick line across his neck with his finger. Barragan and Reach flanked the two soldiers and just as they passed in front of them, jumped behind and slipped a dagger into the back of their neck.
Barragan moved his finger in a circular motion and the squad regrouped on him. Hopefully they would finish this mission quick and be back in time to get some food.
