Master Kil Gorn waited for the youngling at the entance of the temple. He stood erect standing at his full height. He couldn't see the dawn as well as the others around. His vision was sufficient though and the Force helped him. He felt out with it in a deep meditation. The cold chills were growing stronger as the days went by. Ever since right before he left on his last trip around the galaxy they'd been this way. He didn't know what they were but he didn't like them. He readjusted his mind to thinking about the youngling. He was considering taking him on as a padawon, he had a good potential. Since he needed to forget his parents he'd be a good canidate for learning from Kil Gorn. He had a tendincy to burry himself in the force...for days at a time sometimes. He enjoyed swimming through the vastness of his mind and didn't really even need to be in the consius world...The youngling was approaching him...

Jarael walked through the halls of the temple, after going and getting his dark brown cloak. He walked swiftly past the people loitering around. His braid bobbed with his head as he was barely resisting the urge to run. He finally could see the old Jedi Master standing next to the temple's entrance. Jarael stepped up to him, bowing his head. "Master."

"Ah, Jarael." Kil Gorn obserbed his padawon for a moment. He could feel his emotions the longing for his parents even. That's good he could use it well. He started walking through the hallways of the Temple with his apprientace looking to him as he spoke, "Now you know who I am? What do you know of me?" Kil Gorn wasn't a people person and he managed to make almost every conversation akward. Unless it was about the force then he could talk a storm. He wanted to get off on the right foot and introduce himself. He knew of many masters that didn't let their apprentaces know anything about them. He planned to tell Jarael some things out of neccesity. Mostly though he planned to let Jarael think. That was going to be today's lesson, to think. The lesson would help him take what he knew and expand it. An useful lesson for anyone.

"Yes. You are Jedi Master and High Council Member Kil Gorn; and hopefully my new Master. I know that you are one of the masters who choose the Force over combat. Am I right?" Jarael had to jog at first, but soon fell into step with Kil Gorn. Their dark robes flew in behind them as they walked.

Kil Gorn could tell his little friend's robes were lighter than his and noted the fact then they continued to walk, "Yes, that is accurate." Kil stopped infront of the libarary, "What is the Force?" Kil wanted to see where his padawon's mind was. He wanted to see his opinions and his thought proccess. If he was patient or angry, if he was happy or sad, if he was wise or foolish. He decided to ask him questions and based on his response he would base his teachings.

From what I've been taught the Force is an ever flowing mass of energy inside of all living beings... Jarael pasued for a moment. From what I think the Force isn't an ever flowing energy, it is like a pathway linked together through all living beings, some links are just more pwoerful than the others, amplifying the Force. Those links are Force-sensitives." Jarael put each of his hands in the opposite rovbe sleeve and kept walking with Master Kil Gorn.

"Interesting." Kil moved his hands behind his back holding his wrists within his claws. He liked the boy thought past what his teachers told him. He questioned which is a good quality for a student. The only problem is some questions lead Jedi down the wrong path. "The Force is difficult to understand but easy to use. A deadly combination. Luckily it is impossible to master without knowledge. To become the best Jedi you must understand everything, history, politics, culture, the Force, War, Peace, Economics especially physiology. You must be a master of all of these to understand not only the Force but the galaxy. As a Jedi you do not learn to better yourself but to better the Galaxy around you. Your intentions must be pure or greed will take over you." Kil looked to his padawon with a smile and then started walking up the stairs, "Are you interested in such things?"

Jarael listened intently to Master Kil Gorn's words. If they will help me become a great Jedi, then I wills tudy into them, Master. He smiled a bit back to Kil Gorn. Jarael was a rather serious person on most occasions. He wondered where Kil Gorn was taking him. He wondered if he was going to take him to a different planet to construct his lightsaber. Jarael wondered a lot of thing, but pushed them back the best he could. He knew Kil Gorn would sense them, however.

Kil Gorn liked the boy's determination and his curiosity. He questioned and questions are what he wanted, "Feel free to express your curiosity, but I think it goes without saying don't ask too many questions." They reached the top of the staircase and the library was revealed in it's blue glow. Kil had been by this way many times the protocol droid at the door greeted him as it always did but became confused by the guest, "Greeting Master Kil Gorn, who is this youngling?" "My apprentice." The droid went back to it's own buisness and the two countiued into the blue hallways.
"This holds most of the infomation a Jedi would need, but to be a true Jedi one must learn through experience. For that is the greatest teacher. Today I shall take you into the city, we shall obserb people and the way they act. You are young and desire glory and power, a weapon? One must learn that a lightsaber is not important. It is the misconception of the Jedi that a lightsaber is our symbol. The force is our symbol, the blade should be a tool of the force. A true Jedi is not respected for his blade but for his wisdom. You shall resieve you lightsaber in time, but not today and not until I deem it necessary. They are useful tools, but not neseccary." Kil looked around the libarary scouring the shelfs for a book. He drawled it out from the wall and opened it. He scimmed through the pages and showed Jarael a picture. At first glance it showed a party of weathly people enjoying a night out. If you looked deeper you saw something else. Men stealing from their masters, cheats and scoundrals. A man with a knife, a women with a gun, a hive of scum. "What do you see?"

Jarael bowed a this Master's words of a lightsaber. he followed him into the ever glowing blue hallways of the archives. When Master Kil gorn brought up a picture for Jarael, he looked deep into it. He didn't see a party at all, well he did, but that wasn't what caught his eye. The cheating and stealing didn't catch it either. What caught it was the assassins everywhere.
The man with the knife was actually an assassin, as was the woman with a gun. And, a skulky shadow in the corner was holding a throwing dagger. Then, there was a bartender hiding a blaster in plain sight, in hopes of not being found out. Assassins. They're everywhere in the picture, Master. Jarael pointed to the man with a knife, which was aiming for the juggular of another man, the woman who was aiming the small blaster at the same man was the knife wielder, the skulky man who was hiding as a shadow, and finally the bartender with a blaster.
Then, he pointed to the host of the "party". He was the target for all four of the assassins. Jarael also pointed at the thief. He was just a street urchin. That one stealing is just a street urchin, Master. Jarael noticed his dirty face, his raggy clothes, and the scars on his arms. Jarael was rather proud with himself. Maybe he had given the right answer.

"Good, many students have not made that connection," Kil Looked over his apprentice with pride and turned to another picture. It showed a completely different scene. A battle between the Republic and Mandalorains. The Republic was loosing and surrounded, the mandalorians were offering terms of surrender for the soldiers but they had kept fighting, "Mandalorians fight for honor and in this battle's case were provoked. The Republic soldiers were offered their lives from a sociecty that doesn't consider surrerendering dishonorable. Why would they not take the offer if they faced certain death?" Kil looked as his padwan thought and added, "There is no wrong answer." To assure him of what Jarael's mind might be telling him.

Jarael looked at the picture, taking it and Kil Gorn's words in. He closed his eyes a moment. He thought of why the Republic wouldn't accept the surrender. He opened his eyes and looked up at Kil Gorn. Because with the Republic being the Galaxy's main government back in those times, it didn't want to seem weak in the eyes of its followers. A fatal flaw, if I may say so, with so many leaders and leading governments and organizations. They won't surrender at the risk and fear of seeming weak without even thinking of the random people they strip from their families to send them into the face of death.
Jarael looked at Kil Gorn again.

"You know much of a world you haven't been in very long." Kil nodded and looked through the book one last time. It showed a picture of a large number of jedi rushing towards a heavily guarded base. The soldiers faces were filled with fear even though they were the toughtest soldiers in the galaxy. The faces of the Jedi were cruel and angry in their charge towards the Men. Something was unsettleing about the entire picture. It conveyed a dark atmosphere to all who looked upon it. A grim dark feeling, "Finally what do you seee?"

Smirking slightly at his master's comment, he looked at the picture. It was wrong. Completely. The Jedi. Their faces. They weren't themselves. They were lost in a bloodlust that would steer them down the wrong. Jedi. Jedi who have lost their way. They are striking in cold blood, lost up in the battle that isn't even theirs. They're not themselves. I don't think they even know they're doing it, which is the dangerous thing about it.
Jarael tucked his hands into the opposing baggy sleeve of his cloak. He looked down the eerie blue hallways of the library. He had never noticed how big it was before.

"A very wise assessement and a great lesson for another day but not completely accurate," Kil Gorn used the force and turned the page. There was a picture of the leader of the Jedi Charge with his lightsaber to the neck of the Jedi Grand Master. "These are dark Jedi, their numbers were great during this war. They are great once again, they look like Jedi some pretend to be. They are masters of deception and trickry of all kind. They are very cogent in there beliefs, it shall be hard to see through to their malevolent. They shall take your mind and twist your weaknessess. Connections to family or having a loved one is the easist way for this to happen. Having such connections are dangerours but if they must be had, NEVER betray the force." Kil Gorn closed the book and placed in on the self, "Now...we shall go out into the city."

Jarael listened to Kil Gorn's words. He was a very wise Master indeed. Jarael considered himself lucky to have him as a Master. But,Jaael honestly wanted to be a Jedi with honed skills in both the Force and combat, mucsle strength. When his Master announced they would venture out, Jarael followed.

Kil Gorn walked into the city obserbing groups of people the speeders zipping by. He looked to his young padawon and contiuned down the stairs. They reached the ground level and Kil walked into the crowds of people. His next test was about to begin. Jumped into a shuttle as the doors closed and flew away. The boy was now alone in the depths of Coursaunt. Kil Gorn was testing his resourcefulness without any training. Jarael must find his master in the city of lights.

Jarael follwoed Kil Gorn to the ground level of Coruscant, then he felt rather than saw Kil jump onto some random shuttle. Jarael was shocked at first, but realized it was some sort of test. He looked around himself. No threats were presennt. He inclinded his head. No sight of Kil's shuttle. He stripped off his dark brown cloak, dropping it to the ground. Quite suddenly Jarael lept into an open-head speeder flying by. The man was startled by the Padawan's sudden appearence.
So startled in fact that he dropped to the ground. All five feet to the ground. Jarael dove into the driver's seat. He swerved around oncoming traffic, all the while trying to concentrate on the shadow the Force elft behind of Kil Gorn. jarael followed the shadow like some crazed predator tracking its prey.

Kil Gorn climbed his way ontop of the shuttle and turned around seeing Jarael approach using a speeder, it wasn't what he had intended this test to be but it was a test all the same. Kil chuckled, "Most unpredictable..." He jumped up spinning in the air and landed on another shuttle going in a different direction this one was much faster that the prievious one. He struggled at first to stay on but he managed to maintain his balance.

Swerving around mroe and mroe traffic, Jarael eventually saw Master Kil Gorn standing on top of the shuttle he had jumped into. Jarael smirked at Kil Gorn's "Most unpredictable...". Then, Kil Gorn flipped onto a different speeder. Sighing, Jarael turned his around and sped after his master. Then, an idea hit him. What if he ditched this speeder, got onto a different one and took his master by surprise? He climbed out of the seat, stepping carefully to the back of the speeder.
He gathered the Force in his legs, strengthening the jump that would come. When he saw a heavy transport, he jumped into the air, flipping to maintain his path, and landed on top of it. He held on for a few seconds, then got his blance. He looked elft and right, probing the traffic with his senses for his master. He saw the speeder Kil Gorn was on take a left. Jarael jumped onto a speeder going into the same tunnel as his master, but this one was going in a different direction. Perfect. He crouched low,to both avoid hitting his head and to hide.
He watched as the speeder Kil Gorn was on came into view. He cautiously slipped down the side of his speeder, then jumped onto the side of Kil Gorn's. Jarael climbed his way to the back fo the speeder, then to the top. Hello, Master, jarael said, smirking a little.
