A battery of over sixty flickering bluish white lights were the only warning of the sith fleet as it slipped out of hyper drive well out of the range of the republic fleet forces defending the vibrant Sapphire of Mon Calamari. Admiral Kij-Dij Bajr looked at that Sapphire now from his command dais upon the bridge of the Malice dreadnought that served as his flagship. "Status Captain." the aged gungan admiral asked as he leaned heavily against the command console before him. "The Malice and the fleet reports ready status, sir." Bajr gave a curt nod to captain Elise Sabre as she rapped off a quick reply. "Good, Helm take us to coordinates 3332, 1232, 223. One third speed. taking just enough pause for the officer commanding the helm station to acknowledge he turned towards the comm station. "Comm, contact the fleet and have the shake into battle lines on use have all ships prepare their torpedoes and Magnetic Accelerators to fire on my mark." The comm officers hands flew over the control panel before him before he spoke."Fleet Confirms orders, Sir." Bajr nodded and returned his gaze to the massive screens at the fore of the ship. "ETA helm?" he asked after almost a minute of thrusting at low speed. "Thirty-Seconds, sir."
"Open a comm to all vessels," Bajr waited for the comm officer to confirm the channels were open before speaking. "Vessels of the empire we are about to start a war, ready or arms and blades. Fire torpedo and MACs," bajr paused a moment until the helm annouced reaching range. "NOW!"
Dots of light appeared all over the sith fleet as the engines of Fireshard and photon torpedoes burned towards the republic lines more sinister however were the nickle alloy slugs some weighing more than one hundred and seventy tons struck out into the darkness silent and invisible in the darkness of space.

((OOC: This is a more indepth version of my post in "Spies of the Empire" just to give you a review, in case you don't want to read the other thread )) Palo finally exited the atmosphere, it was strange that he hadn't been shot at. But he wasn't going to complain. Palo gave an exasperated sigh as he figured out why: the Sith fleet had appeared, ahead of schedule. And Palo didn't have his IFF up. He looked over his shoulder at his PL-001, sparks were flying, but at least it hadn't caught on fire, yet. Palo ran over to the navigator's station, knowing that the droid could accomplish this, but that the more manual work he did the less strain on the droid's cpu. Palo keyed in the hyperspace coordinates for behind the Sith fleet, within comm range, but out of weapons range. Palo keyed in the special comm code for Admiral Barj himself, and flashed a Sith IFF status, if only for a second. The ship was under strain, it couldn't hold an IFF without diverting power. Palo didn't wait for the admiral to answer, knowing full well it was disrespectful not to look into a commanding officer's eyes especially when you are the one who called, he began running about the bridge, flipping switches here and there to keep the droid from overheating. He would worry about being disrespectful when he wan't in danger of exploding.

Bishop leaned over the Captain's control desk. It couldn't be! He looked and looked, btu still didn't believe it. Mon Calamari was under attack. It was very lucky he was en route for it. He was merely looking over the reports again. An entire Sith fleet had the guts to show up and start blasting at the small blockade. Bishop looked at the Nav fficer. How much longer?! The man looked down. "Only a few moments, sir." Bishop continued his steady pace about the bridge of the Vulture. His black boots tinged off of the metallic floor of his flagship.
He had a feeling this would be the biggest battle of his career. When the Nav Officer finally nodded his head and brought them out of hyperspace, Bishop snapped his gaze to the front viewport. His jaw dropped. The fleet was bigger than he expected, but he snapped into military format immediately. He couldn't lose Mon Cal for the Republic.
COMM Officer, set up a tight signal to the Corvettes and frigates and tell them to form a group around Mon Cal, circling it every so often to make sure we don't suffer any maximum loses, then contact the Cruisers, Battleships, and Dreadnoughts and tell them to form a perimeter around the Sith fleet and to get their batteries ready to fire on my command. Also, no air traffic to allwoed on or off of Mon Cal until further notice. And send the carriers onto Mon Cal as an exception to back up the ground troops. Tell Corvettes to Launch all shields on command.
He apced up and down, continuing to bark orders to his men. When the COMM Officer finished contacting the Corvettes and Frigates and other ships, Bishop nodded. Set me up a direct line to all ships. When the Comm Officer finished, small holographic images of the other ship heads were projected before Bishop. He was assuming command now. Planetary blockade, launch shields now! In almsot perfect unison the ships projected their shields. One Corvette didn't get their shields up. Bishop was forced to look on in horror as a missle struck its portside, sending it down.
Saluting slightly, Bishop turned back to the holograms. All batteries fire at will. captain get us turned toward the fleet immediately! The captain set to work. The bulky Battlecruiser turned, more and more lasers fired from the Sith fleet. All fighters engaged Sith frigates and Corvettes! He shouted to his mena nd the holoes. He turned to look at the Corvettes and Frigates of his own. Planetary blockade shuffle now! Send a Centurian as extra defense into the middle of the Planetary blockade's circle. Try to get them in range of your shields as extra defense. Captain deploy deflector shields. Tell all portside batteries to fire on the flagship if you can locate it.
He turned his dark eyes among the Sith fleet. he scanned it. Then, he spotted it. What should be the flagship. It was in the center. It was the best chance he had right now. Fire on the center ship and pray it's the right one. all other ships continue to fire upon their Frigates and Corvettes. Captain aim for the flagship's engines first. Then, go for its COMM Array.
Bishop continued pacing. He usually paced when in battle.

OOC:Posting from the ground... tell me if this doesn't belong here and I'll delete.
IC: Quazigo checked the lenses on the surveillance devices of his gear. He was with a supposedly elite surveillance and sniping squad in a transport on their way to an observation post on one of Mon Calamari's floating cities. There were two snipers and two spotters. The other Sniper was a Kel Dor, and both spotters were Cereans. It was odd to have such a multicultural group, but the Cereans has great logic and wisdom and would be valued in determining the outcomes of situations, and operating the comms. The military driver of the transport yelled.
"DROP! 15 SECONDS!"
The squad stood and stood single file as the pilot put the transport on auto and opened the door Quazigo was second in line. The Kel Dor jumped out of the craft and slid down a rope, and then Quazigo stepped out, and followed. He looked down and saw a rooftop. The Kel Dor was looking up making sure he made it down OK. It was about a 40 foot slide down the rope, and then his feet touched ground. He surveyed his surroundings as the Cereans made their way down. with all the gear.
The republic officers here had managed to score them a roof spot on one of the highest structures in the city. An excellent viewpoint, but also extremely dangerous. So dangerous it was almost stupid. Quazigo turned to the Kel Dor, his superior.
"Sir we're gonna need some sort of evac plan here because we are sittin' up here completely exposed on the biggest lightning rod in town if you catch my drift."
The Kel Dor looked at him, basically expressionless on account of his facial apparatus, and said.
"What do you expect us to do? jump off at the last minute as someone takes out this tower? We got front row seats, corporal. Im sure Mon Calamari's AA guns will do their job. As for artillery, well theres nothing much we can do. We're here , and we have a job to do. Set up."
Quazigo looked down, defeated, and continued to survey. The roof was an even square, 40 feet by 40 feet. all around him in his direct line of sight was water, and docks. There were Republic military vessels, fighters and cruisers jetting into space. Hundreds of transports buzzed around, and on the streets far below contingents of Mon Calamari ground troops could be seen patrolling. It was like nothing the young Bothan had ever seen before. Quazigo looked behind him as he heard one of the Cereans yelling into his comm, shaking his pistol in the air, gesturing as if he was talking to someone in person.
"We can't wait three hours we need those monitors now!"
20 minutes later another transport hovered 5 feet over the roof and dropped a huge metal supply crate. It unfolded upon roof impact. It contained a ten foot tall monitor and computer so that they could communicate better with the Commanders and receive holo-images of the battle. Within 3 minutes it was assembled, and The comm systems were abuzz with activity. The sniper squad put headsets in, and waited. He turned to his officer.
"Blasters or Darts sir?" The Kel Dor was setting his rifle up on a bipod. He said "The subtler the better"
Quazigo loaded his dart cartridge and as he got his bipod out, he saw a great flash in the sky.
A Cruiser entered Mon Calamari's Atmosphere, completely covered in flames. Small pieces of debris had broken off and was flying in all directions The main body of the ship hurled into the ocean just outside the city in a brilliant display of fire and water as the ship made impact into the ocean. Repulbic rescue vessels made their way out to the cruiser as one of the spotters yelled.
"The Sith are here and they are unloading munitions on the Republic ships!"
Quazigo turned back and gave them a look as if to say "Yeah thanks for that captain obvious" Quazigo got out his binoculars and looked at the crash site. Nothing but a bunch of rescue vessels and sizzling water. He had just seen something spectacular. But the best was yet to come.

~Round 1~
Sith Empire:
Effort: 4 /5 Fairness: 4 /5 Detail: 3 /5 Coolness: 4 /5 Bonus: 0 /2 Comments: Hmmm, focus on all possible meanings of the work epic and we will have a beautiful battle. I liked how you handled the ships but I would like to see a little bit more insight to the crew and to Bajr. You are on the door step of a Galactic War, make me feeeeeel it. The slugs were a sweet touch.
TOTAL: 15 /20
Galactic Republic:
Effort: 4 /5 Fairness: 5 /5 Detail: 3 /5 Coolness: 3 /5 Bonus: 0 /2 Comments: Liked seeing one of the ships going down early in the fight. Again, I would have enjoyed a more "WTF Sith?!?" feel to the post. Like I noted up higher, I want to feel the emotions of the crew and the battle. This is the first attack since Dantooine and the Mandalorians. Lets see some anger. Show the sith whats up after they betrayed the Republic before.

Jason sat in the chair in the bridge of his new ship, a standard Solarii class battle ship. It was okay but he could'nt wait for his personal ship to be finished. He took another sip of water from his glass and out of the corner of his eye he saw thousands of bluish white lights flash through space and reassemble into the Sith Fleet. He dropped his crystal glass onto the hard metal floor below where it then shattered into a thousand pieces. "Damn that cost alot of money!" He yelled as he got up to get a closer look. "Is that really the Sith fleet?""What the **** is the Sith Fleet doing here!?!" He yelled in amazement. He saw the Admiral, Bishop, pop up on the hologram projector, he ordered the men to ircle around the Sith Fleet and fire on the engines. And then it dissapeared. "Okay men, you heard him, Jerald, turn this thing around 90 degrees and pull up next to the engines of the capital ship. And Rob, clear the fighters, tell them to go when ready and bombard the frigates with all they've got!" He looked out the window and saw a swarm of bombers and fighters come out of the hanger. "Turn on the Turbolasers and fire at the engines," He watched the Canonns quickly turn on and unleash a behemothly massive ammount of firepower on the helpless engines. "Yeaaaaahhhooo!" he yelled but before he could bark at the next captain to do something, a proton bomb had struck the window, sucking out droids people and nearly him until right as he was about to be shot out into the vacum of space; the emergency door closed... "Well that was a lose call," he said with a grin on his face"

((O.O.C:Noob for future reference DO NOT post destroying mine or anyone else ships just post shooting at them.))
Admiral Bajr watched on with grim satisfaction as the bombardment sent several small ships scattering and at least one spiraling down towards the water world. He half listened to a report of two of the small unshielded Derripahn's breaking up on their left flank as a battleship began pushing in on them. "Have all ships scramble their fighters and the Thunders to begin bombarding their super carrier." He did however snarl when he was blinded by the reactor explosion of a Fury which crossed into the stream of torpedos and turbo laser bolts meant for the Malice. "Tell the blood-moon to take twoFurys and destroy that Solari class, have all the other heavy capital ships engage their Onasi and Solari class ships. Have all the corvette's and destroyers flank left and fire along their flank." he barked out orders as his own dreadnought belched another deadly round of torpedoes, Ion cannon, and turbolaser bolts at a republic jaguar that drifted to close to it.
"Sir, we have a Mon Calamari Type dreadnought radioing us offering the ship to our attack force." Bajr shielded his eyes from the flash of a silver star torpedo detonating on the shields before looking at the man who reported it. "Gather the extra crews from our dreadnoughts and send them to it on our gunships along with the crew from that down Fury." bajr stared out into be black of space as the remaining Scythe class as well as his ship began firing waves of fire at the Republic's Dreadnought line.

Palo cursed when he realized that he wouldn't be able to speak directly to the Admiral after all. He sighed, where was his recognition? He'd been working for the Sith Empire for almost 10 years now, and now they just pushed him aside. He keyed in a transmission to Malice anyways. The transmission contained all the vital points in Dac's defence, and schematics of all of the ships that had ever been docked at one of Dac's shipyards, that would come in handy. If the bombardment took place exactly as he'd suggested in the transmission, they would sustain minimal casualties while maintaining the most key points.
He groaned as he noticed that the PL-001 had caught on fire, he ran to get an extinguisher and put it out quickly. Unfortunately the hard drive was fried -literally- and there was no way that it would work again. Sure enough, the power went out. The PL-001 was the only thing keeping this ship working, emergency lighting kicked in soon, and the bridge was bathed in a strange red light. He screamed a string of profanities, only stopping when he heard the gunships docking up. Sounded like Doppleganger class, if he wasn't mistaken.
He wasn't. He greeted the men when they reached the bridge, and informed them of his situation. They barely had a skeleton crew here, the ship could not perform at 100%. By Palo's calculations, this ship could perform at only 69% efficiency with this amount of crew.
[brown]So, did the good Admiral assign any of you to become the captian of my ship?[/brown] He spoke of the admiral sarcastically, but Mon Calamari sarcasm is subtle to human ears, they probably didn't even notice it. [brown]Or am I in charge?[/brown] He smiled as he spoke the last sentance.

Bishop only contained his anger through the constant strategies he was streaming out. If it were not for the alarms blaring or the need for him, he'd be expressing his anger. He looked out of the viewport torward the blockade then to the fighters off to the left. Tell all fighters to cirle around to flank the Sith's fleets on their right flank, and have the bombers go in for a rear attack on their frigates. He stroked his chin, furrowing his brow at the same time.
He watched as his orders were executed. The fighters flanked and the bombers swerved to a rear attack. Some of the fighters were struck out of the sky in a few glowing balls of fire. Tell the Centurion in the center of the blockade to fire its batteries along the front of one of the Sith's Dreadnoughts. Bishop lay his hands out on the metal rail inf ront of him. He supported his body weight heavily. His anger suddenly peaked as the Sith seemed to launch their tactics.
He hit his hand off the rail, making it vibrate. The bridge went silent for a moment. He scowled out of the viewport. The Sith were going too far. Get me a transmission to Coruscant! Keep it on standby when it's done until further notice. He paced slowly from left to right. It was almost like he was an iritated cat hunting for that juicy mouse hiding in its hole.
Have the entire blockade cocentrate its fire on one Dreadnought alone. He stopped pacing as the green laser batteries were fire from the bloackade in perfect unison and branched out, striking on Dreadnought's shields, forcing the invisible phantom into green ripples of plasma. Bishop smiled, if only for a split second.

Round 2
Sith Empire
Effort:4/5 Fairness: 4/5 Detail: 4/5 Coolness: 3/5 Bonus: /2 Comments:I think the posts could have been longer and included more action. I very much liked Zark's post as it really encompassed all the necessary qualities for a good military post. I am still not feeling the Sith yet though, push the envelope.
Total:15/20
Republic
Effort:3/5 Fairness: 3/5 Detail: 3/5 Coolness: 3/5 Bonus: 1/2

Palo grudgingly pulled his Dreadnought around and moved up to protect the Malice's left flank, as per the admiral's orders. He had been given command of the MC20, but was forced to follow what he deemed as "unoriginal orders". Although...from the left flank he had a clear shot of the planet below him. This gave him an idea.
[brown]You...[/brown] He pointed at the Communications officer, the man looked up at Palo, suprised to have been called upon so suddenly, [brown]Patch me through to the Malice, I have a suggestion.[/brown] The man did as he was told, as he was setting up the transmission, Palo went to smooth out any wrinkles in his uniform. He scowled when he realized that he hadn't even had the time to change into his Sith Officer uniform, he was still wearing the beige uniform of the Tech Officers.
He was broken out of his thoughts by the shout of the comm oficer. [white]I've got Admiral Barj[/white] Palo had barely straightened into a salute before the image of the Gungan Admiral appeared in front of him. [brown]Sir! Permission to break off and engage Republic forces blockading the planet.[/brown] He could see the ships trading fire through the translucent image of his Admiral. Palo thought this battle was beautiful.

Hajime nodded, and started to make a plan, he then turned to the captain and said “ Sir, permission to take a Rifle and some grenades from the ships Armory?” Hajime knew that asking for permission was not like him, but he needed it if he were to complete his job. Hajime awaited the answer. ((Sorry for the shortness, when I invade the ship, the posts shall be longer))

Jason stroked his frisky beard with one hand and finished off the long glass bottle of pure whiskey that had been sitting on the rail beside him. He saw the hundreds, maybe thousands of bolts being fired upon both fleets constantly. Once, along time ago, the sight of such imminent danger frightened him, but now he had harnessed it into excitement which inturn heightened his awareness and helped him succeed. He sighed, waiting for more orders from the Admiral, the time seemed like it would last forever until finally they came. He listened to them as Hajime Huyuga, the Mercenary he had recently recruited approached him. He turned around and told the many officers stationed in the classic red and golden uniforms to concentrate all batteries and turbo lasers on the main Dredonaught in the middle of the approaching Sith Fleet and then commanded all the fighters and bombers to flank the frigates, just as the Admiral had said. As for you Sir... he said, turning to Hajime in his repainted armor. I want you to head down to Hangar 2, get into your own ship that you took here, and if you can, fly into the Hangar the enemy capital ship; the large more important one that our massive firepower is currently concentrated on. Once there I want you to find your way into the bridge, causing as much chaos as possible, understood? If you hget that far, contact on this communications unit. he said, handing Hajime a small square Comm. Unit.

Bajr jumped down from his command dias as the ships above Mon calamari jockey for position high above the planet. "Negative mon calamari ship, commence a locolized hyperspace jump to provide artillery support for the corvette flank attack." He turned striding along the bridge deck towards the observation window. "Comm, contact all our remaining heavy assault ships send them this message, All ships form up in a wedge on the malice and prepare to follow us." the gungan's face screwed up into a malice laden smirk as he turned his head to the helm's men stations. "Ahead full flank take us right down onto that centurion." The massive dreadnought slowly began to accelerate faster as it began closing with the republic battle lines. "Tell the corvettes to launch their attack and send all gunships forward. Get capta-." the old gungan admiral was cut off by sudden sirens and a jolt. "Sith's blood, report!" He roared in anger dragging a engineer out of his seat. "Sir, systems failure shields and main turbolaser batteries are offline, minor damage." one of the other techs remarked. Bajr growled and dropped the frightened engineer to the floor. "We have no choice keep the gunships going down radio ahead and have the reserve attack force ready, order all ships to disengage and return to Korriban." bajr lowered his head as he turned the view of the planet disappearing over his shoulder.

Palo scowled as the transmission was cut short. [brown]Our commander is incompetant. I want all batteries charged up. Prepare for a short range hyperspace jump![/brown] The XO glanced at Palo, unsure. [white]Sir, Admiral Ba-[/white] [brown]MUST I repeat myself?[/brown] Palo was beginning to become agitated.
[white]Sir, batteries are primed.[/white] [brown]Good, jump to position A-1388[/brown] The navigation officer looked unsure, but punched in the coordinates, nonetheless. The stars blurred around them for a second, then they found themselves in the center of the enemy line. [brown]FIRE![/brown] The battery operators didn't need to be told twice. Instantaneously lasers blared into existance, destroying one enemy frigate before the enemy ships even began firing. It didn't take long though for the Republic to notice the new cruiser in their midst. [white]SIR! We have enemy missiles on trajectory 473![/white] [pink]Our shields are taking a beating![/pink] Palo calmly began shouting orders: [brown]Assign heaviest sheilds over vital areas. Bring GARDIAN lasers up and running. Scramble fighters! I want our batteries concentrating on the enemy cruisers. Get those bombers after that frigate![/brown] The ship rocked with heavy enemy fire. [white]Sir! Transmission from the Malice! They want us to pull back![/white] [brown]Negative, we're sticking it out.[/brown][white] We've lost primary shield generator![/white][pink] Primary hyperspace capacitor, offline![/pink][green] Auxillary hyperspace capacitor taking heavy damage![/green] [yellow]We won't last much longer![/yellow] 2 more frigates exploded in a brilliant display of fire. [brown]Concentrate bombers on the remaining frigates![/brown] [white]GARDIAN lasers have been disabled![/white] [pink]I'm reading 7 major hull breaches, and over 40 minor breaches![/pink]
[white]Admiral Bajr is ordering a full retreat! Sir, our auxillary hyperspace capacitor will only get us back to the Sith front lines. It's now or never.[/white] "Captain" Lonaria smirked. [brown]Then I guess it's never.[/brown] [white]Sir?[/white] [brown]I want all batteries firing on the Centurion![/brown]
An enemy cruiser suddenly exploded and ripped in half. Palo started to smile. [brown] If we can eliminate the Centurion, the Republic fleet will be in disarray. Concentrate all bombers on the Cen-[/brown] Suddenly Palo felt an intense pain in his chest. [white]Admiral Bajr wants us to head back.[/white] Palo turned, his XO stood behind him, a blaster in his hand, a grim look on his face. [brown]You? I should've known[/brown] [white]Turn this ship around! Get us back to the Sith lines now![/white] [pink]What about the fighters?[/pink] [white]Leave them! Now, I'm sorry, "captain", but we value our lives more than your pride.[/white] He aimed the blaster at Palo's face. [brown]You bas-[/brown]
