Birth - 17
Jahai was born aboard The Nova V during a hyperspace transit from Mon Calamari to Panatha to a pair very excited, yet disappointed new parents: Gaia and Ryder Draken. They were hoping to take Gaia back to Tree City on Panatha to give birth on their home world. Their disappointment was quickly set aside andreplaced with excitement, they had a bouncing new babe! That excitement was also set aside quickly and was replaced by weariness; when little Jahai wasn't eating she was crying, when she wasn't crying she was soiling her diaper, and in the rare case that she was not doing either of the three things, she slept.
The next 6 years consisted of many life changing events for little Jahai Draken; Her first words, first thought, potty training, and her first day at "school", well, as close to school as one could get in the cold vastness of space. Jahai was home schooled by her mother, who began to impart her knowledge to the little one. It was during this time that the two discovered one of the passions that little Jahai would have until the day she died: Reading. The day that she could access a terminal she began to comb over the holonet, reading all of the novels and short stories that she could understand.
Having no siblings and no other child to play with on a ship that is constantly bound for new planets can get dreadfully boring, the 10 year old girl like she had to streach. Especially when the only thing to do on the ship to pass time is to read, make no mistake Jahai loved reading, but even she could only do it for so long before becoming bored. Jahai then befriended the pilot, Sartika, who also happened to be the youngest member of the crew at twenty. When she turned 16 Jahai found her second passion: Piloting. Sartika began to teach her the inns and outs of piloting a ship, this knowledge would prove to be invaluable in the coming year.
A few months after Jahai turned 17 raiders attacked the Nova V, they took everything that was not bolted down, they then killed, raped... the lucky ones in that order. They slaughtered almost every one aboard, almost. The parents of Jahai Draken managed to hide her in one of the many smuggling compartments big enough for her to fit in. She sat through the whole ordeal, she heard the screams of her friends, of her family... and just when she was about to turn the little blade that her parents gave her on herself, the raiders departed. Jahai stayed in that smuggling compartment for hours, daring not to move, she did not even breathe too loud for fear that they would hear across the emptiness of space and come back.
She eventually mustered up the courage to venture out of her hole. Jahai painfully made it up to the cockpit, it was the longest 20 meters of her life, she finally got to the cockpit and initiated the hyperdrive. She plotted a course for the nearest civilized planet, Onderon, and within seconds she was in a hyperspace tunnel. It felt like days before she got to her destination, but in reality it was only a few hours. The second that Jahai got within range of a comm tower she called for help, saying that Raiders killed everyone, save her. The authorities docked with her vehicle within a few minutes and took her into custody, assuming first that she killed everyone aboard. They only released her after they found the ship's black box, the little device that records everything that goes on in the cockpit, and found that Raiders really did kill those people.

Jahai instantly knew where she wanted to go: The Galactic Republic Navy. But she wanted to be in a position to kill pirates, not fix broken pipelines on some corvette, so Jahai applied for scholarships to higher education. She received the RFCEP (Republic Foster Children's Educational Program) that payed for all 4 years of college. She did her best during those four years, she was not the smartest, but she was not the dumbest either. Almost the day that she graduated Jahai enlisted into the Galactic Republic Navy, she immiedatly went to flight school.
She breezed through flight school, she finished top of her class, and for it was given an automatic promotion to LTG, lieutenant junior grade. Jahai was with the 121st "Black Cat" fighter squadron that was stationed on the Incorruptible, a Freedom Star- Class Super carrier that has recently beenmoth balled. Much to her dismay, LTG Draken saw no real conflict during her stay on the Incorruptible, most pirates, raiders, and rebels tended to high tail it out of the system as soon as they caught the massive sensor signature that a massive supercarrier gave off. After 4 years of nothing but war games and almost constant inspections Jahai managed to get a promotion to lieutenant and a ticket off of the Incorruptible, and onto ship that was just out of the shipwright: The Amber-Clad, a jaguar - class strike cruiser.
A year into her stay on the Amber-Clad LTG Draken fought considerably more outlaws, and due to her extreme skill and heroism in battle she was made the Squadron leader for the 725th "Raptors" squadron. Over the next year Jahai flew on many sorties, killed many pirates, and even got a promotion to LCDR, Lieutenant Commander, making her the most experianced pilot on the Amber-Clad. She had become the Control Air Group (CAG), basically she ordered the pilots around on while they were on sorties.
Exodus
28- 31
After about a year of giving pilots their objectives and briefing them in on missions Jahai was about to call it quits. What she did not know was that the brass was so impressed with her performance as CAG that they gave her a promotion to Commander, and with that they gave her command of her own ship: the Tantalus, an Interdictor - Class cruiser. She commanded this ship with the same heroism that she piloted her Aurek all those years ago.
Just after receiving command of the Tantalus Jahai's command skills were put to the test when her ship was jumped by 5 pirate frigates. Through expert commanding and an even better crew the three pirate ships where destroyed, but not before the Tantalus received heavy damage. She was forced to take the Tantalus back to the shipyard for repairs that she barely left the week before.
Two years of commanding a ship took a lot out of CDR Draken, she was also getting tired with all of the BS that she had to go through now that she reached 0-5. If she took a pirate crew into custody that was a few hours of paperwork, one of them happen to die in an explosion there was another hour or two, and god help her if the ship got destroyed. So, at the end of her 10 year term she decided not to re-up her contract, even after the pleas of the higher-ups.

Jahai was barely back into civilian life a few months before she grew weary of it. The lack of order, discipline, and in some cases self hygiene, had her going insane. About a month after she left the military she was approached by a man, a representative of Edessa Security Systems, he convinced her to sign in up as a Captain. Draken also put all of the money she had into the shares of ESS, she figured that having all the money to her name invested in the company would be a pretty good motivator to do her best.
In the next year Jahai served the company with the honor and valor that was expected of her. She was put in charge of the Covenant, a halcyon-class cruiser in ESS's mammoth fleet, this is also where she met Shale Gato, this man would be her XO for the rest of her employment at ESS. Within a year Jahai was presented with a terrible choice: Throw in with the Coup de 'etat to overthrow the CEO, Iriel Alini Valmor-Quiler II, or stay loyal to the girl and help her quell the rebels. Jahai is fiercely loyal, in truth it wasn't really a choice. Jahai had a terrible pain to share with the girl, both of her parents were dead. Iriel's mom killed herself when she was 8, and her father recently ODed on stims, Jahai just could not turn on this girl.
Jahai commanded the Covenant with honor and distinction, she often found herself at the tip of the spear against the rebels. She distinguished her self so much during the "civil war" that she was put on Iriel's honor guard for a meeting between the warring parties. This meeting turned out to be an elaborate ploy to kill off the poor girl. Without hesitation Jahai positioned The Covenant directly in between the aggressors and Iriel's ship, giving her soon-to-be friend enough time to jump out of system. The Covenant was crippled by the end of that fight and was forced to limp back to Edessa for repairs.
3 years into the civil war one of the Deputy admiral's ship was destroyed, so naturally the Council of Admirals (at Iriel's request)promoted Draken to the position of Deputy Admiral. With the promotion she was not put under the command of a better ship, however, ESS resources where too limited to hand them out like candy. Three years later Iriel's forces decimated the rebellion, and all that there was to do now was rebuild the company.
All of the excitement and rush left her position after the rebels were suppressed, not that it was a bad thing, if Jahai had the choice between fighting and death as opposed to a boring job she would pick the latter every time. Four years after the rebellion things more or less stabilized, other than a dispute with the government about the size of the ESS fleet, and Jahai was back to doing what she was supposed to be doing: Guarding convoys and planets.

Jahai was put on Edessa Security Systems' Council of Admirals at the demand of Iriel after one of the members, Admiral Ackmal, died of natural causes. Being on ESS's Council of Admirals has two very distinct perks: An outrageously large paycheck, and command of a considerable chunk of company assets. There is a downside, however: The most you do all day is sit and talk about the future of the company, contracts, deployments, and promotions. A perfectly good waste of a monday morning in Jahai's opinion, but it was necessary.
The next five years seemed to get more and more dangerous, the Sith Empire was beginning to show their muscle, she could tell a war was about to erupt... it would be bloody, no doubt. Then a few weeks after her 45th birthday the Sith annexed Dantooine, that is when all hell broke loose. Contracts flooded the ESS offices, even with their gargantuan fleet the ESS barely managed to defend all of those convoys. Jahai knows a war is coming, she can feel it in her bones, it will only be a matter of time before the Republic or the Sith snap... only be a matter of time.

Jahai averted her ice-cold blue eyes to the datapad before her as she sat on the plush luxury seat of her shuttle. It was all of the technical readouts of Edessa Security System's new ship, the ESS Chimera, they were impressive... most impressive. She pressed a few buttons on her armrest and classical music began to caress her ears. "Quin, how long will it be until we reach the ship?" She said softly without tearing her gaze from the datapad. "Just a few minutes, ma'am" The pilot reported back.
"Enough of this..." Draken thought as she closed the window that held the technical readouts of the ESS Chimera and opened "The Inferno", a mystery that she had been reading for the past week or two. "You figured out who killed the guy's wife yet?" Shale inquired when he saw her switch to the mystery. "I am thinking that it was the Maid, I would kill her if she made me do all of that crazy stuff. She said in a playful tone, Shale was only one of two people that she considered a friend, the other was Iriel, the young CEO of ESS.
The minutes seemed to fly by as she delved into her novel, and just as she was about to find out who killed the family her shuttle docked with the Chimera. "Happens every time" Jahai mumbled as she put the small datapad in her pocket and walked for the airlock.
-30 minutes later-
The turbo-lift doors slid open to reveal a very impressive bridge, with all hands standing on the observation platform next to the window, save Shale Gato who was standing next to her. "Welcome to the ESS Chimera, ma'am" The weapons officer, Kabi Mublen, said confidently. "It is good to be here, Ms. Mublen." She curtly replied. Jahai then turned her attention to the rest of the staff.
"Now, I hear that you all are the best that ESS... the best that the universe has to offer. Second to None." she said, she paused for a few seconds to let everything sink in. "I hate speeches, never have been one for them..." Her mind threw in, seemingly at random. "Prove it to me people... now everyone get to your stations." She said. It took a few minutes for everyone to get to their spots, and once they did she turned to Shale Gato, her XO, and whispered "This will be a fun bunch" to which the big man only replied with a chuckle. "Take us to hyperspace, Aekin." Jahai ordered.
Out of nowhere the ship accelerated out of sight.
