New character

This is a poll for what kind of character I'm going to make next. I've decided its going to be a military, but should it be Republic or Mando. Or, if I get more votes for something else, I might, just might, make that instead of a military character.
Also, I'm unoriginal and can't come up with anything on my own. V.V

Alright, I'm posting here to say that I am popping in to check on this area. I have decided on my next character, so the winner of this poll will be my final character. So far, looks like a Mando.
My next character will be a DJ that uses no weapons except his mind, body, and the force in that order. He won't use his body unless necassary, and won't use the force unless necassary. Also a superiority complex. Anyway, full details when I make the char. Be off then...

Mandalorians are nothing but ripoffs of the Klingons. Don't make one unless said Mandalorian actually IS a Klingon, which would be pretty cool, if redundant.

I used Star Trek as a reference. My point is that Mandalorians are essentially a carbon copy of something else, and it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that they're so popular.

I just want to encourage people to branch out more. But I voted for 'finish your character' because you shouldn't bite off more than what you can chew :3

That's why I made a Dark Jedi that was essentially a bum. And made his celebrity face Dave Lister, because Lister's such a good guy, it was an interesting juxtaposition on attitudes.

I'm not going to argue Star Trek versus Star Wars. They both have their ups and downs, but ultimately they're both Space Operas, and both have their share of cliches. That doesn't mean we should encourage those cliches.

Indeed. There are a good number of warrior races that actually have original aspects to them. The Echani, the Cathar, even Corellians can be considered a warrior culture in their own way. Branch out!

Sheesh, a single literary comparison and you guys go on a warpath. To be fair, I don't think highly of Klingons, either.

This thread is not about learning a lesson. He is merely asking for an opinion, and I believe you already gave it.
