My Ship is NOT Ugly! – Nar Shaddaa:
It’s another day in the life of Lash Venedray, gambling and heavy drinking. However, this day turns out to be a little different than the others. At the table he finds himself dominated by one of the players, Lash isn’t stupid, he knows that this is one of the hired players Greegar, the local Hutt crime lord, likes to send his way in order to force him into piloting for the slime ball. But this guy seemed too good, far better than the previous guys who had come his way, with a quick and secretive survey of the bar, Lash spotted some hired muscle and set about trying to prolong his loss in order to come with a plan. When, finally, the bum sees his chance to act, he takes it, starting a bar fight, as things kick off into a huge free for all, the drunk grabs what credits he can and runs for his life, knowing that he’ll have to get off world if he wants to live. Heading to the docks, Lash has no time to go about acquiring a flight via the standard method and instead opts to stow away on any ship he can. But just to his luck, there’s only one ship currently with its loading ramp down, and there are quite a few heavy lifters there. At that time, along came the local security force, in an auspicious attempt to make it look as if they are really trying to crack down on smuggling. The fire fight that ensues allows Lash to get on board the ship and hide just before it takes off.
Alluvial dampers? Ow! That's not it! – Space:
Nervous, cramped and more than a little tipsy, Lash is hiding in one of the small secret compartments he managed to find in the cargo hold. However, his secret hiding place is discovered pretty quickly and, fearing what the person on the other side of the thin durasteel sheet would do to him, he leapt from his hiding place the moment the panel was removed. Once he got up from the ground he was confronted by a sight he didn’t expect, a small Twi’lek female. But this particular Twi’lek seemed to have quite the temper and not too fond of stowaways. Holding him at an arm’s reach, Palas Hak, captain of the Nui’s Jewel, Lash’s spacecraft of choice, started laying out questions and threats on equal measure. They were rudely interrupted, however, by the violent shaking of the ship followed by the flashing lights which warned the crew of an attack. With the effects of his drinking wearing off, Lash offered his help in getting them away from whoever was attacking. He was a little surprised to find himself sitting in the pilot’s seat a few moment’s later, but it was the best place Palas could have chosen to put him. It had been a while since he’d flown out in space, and he had little time to ease into the procedures once again due to the constant attacks of the ship following them. However, after a few manoeuvres, Lash was able to avoid a fiery death long enough for the hyperdrive to be fixed and for them to escape to some unknown, to him, location. It was during this trip through hyperspace that Lash discovered Palas had been working for Greegar and now, with his appearance on board, the Hutt would think that the pair were working together. For keeping the pilot alive, Palas surmised that he owed her, big time.
