Bio: The Kel Dor are a proud race of noble warriors, with a tradition almost as old as the race. They train their elite to be formidable opponents and are known for their strong sense of justice. Kel Dor are known to kill a thief who stole only to feed himself. This sense of justice, skill, and pride were all instilled in the young Tarin T’lo, born to parents of some repute on the Kel Dor homeworld of Dorin.
Tarin was of a clan of Kel Dor that were known to be fighters and somewhat stubborn in their resolve. His father served as a guardian to the monarch and his mother was respected in the community. When Tarin was born, his father desired that Tarin should follow him in his footsteps and become a guardian to the monarchy, effectively sealing Tarin’s fate to that of soldiery and warfare.
As a Kel Dor, and as one expecting to be a warrior, he began early training in the traditional warrior arts of the Kel Dor, Hand-to-Hand combat and proficiency with Melee weapons. From early, they could see an aggressiveness in him, the way he fought and his tenacity to keep going. He took to fighting easily enough and when it became time, he was enrolled in the prestigious Dorin Academy that prepared young Kel Dor to become guardians of the monarchy.
The Academy was militaristic in nature and imposed strict discipline on the cadets. His education in Martial Combat continued, however he was now introduced to blasters of various models and makes. He took a particular fondness to weaponry and tried his best to succeed in this area. While there he was also taught field strategy and modern battlefield tactics. All his academy training would prepare him for the treacherous life he had ahead of him.
He enjoyed academy life, but the traditional over tones and duties did not. He did not see himself doing much good serving only the Kel Dor, he felt that his talents could be better put to use elsewhere. After graduation, he did not accept the Guardian’s mantle and left to join the Republican military, much to the dishonor of his family. He was young and idealistic, and the highly political and traditional life he would have to live did not suit him, as he told his family when he left.
He joined the Republican Army as a soldier as an elite Recon Trooper, based on the training he received while at the Dorin Academy. He was deployed on remote worlds, hunting down smugglers, pirates, and potential enemies to the Republic. During his various adventures he came into contact with an array of weaponry from across the galaxy and took great pains to ensure that he knew their inner workings and their uses. He also kept up with his Unarmed and Melee combat, using them often in close quarters engagements with his enemies. In the line of duty, his courage was unflinching. He was never one to retreat unless all of his comrades had left first, and fought for justice in the galaxy. His strong sense of justice proved to be to his disadvantage however, because while on a mission on a remote jungle moon, he refused to fire upon a group of natives who had seen the Recon Team during their secret mission for the Republic. His comrades killed the natives to protect their secrecy but Tarin was shamed for it.
When the team returned home, he was removed from combat duty after five years on the front lines. Now twenty-six, the experienced combat veteran was transferred to a base on Kashyyk to train soldiers in unconventional warfare. As a drill instructor and a former soldier on the front lines, Tarin had become proficient with a huge array of weaponry from across the galaxy. Usually if he had not seen the weapon before, he had seen one like it and could base its uses from that. He also gained valuable experience with said weapons and the art of instruction and furthering his proficiency with Unconventional Warfare. All skills that would mark him for his future assignment.
An additional three years of service to the Republic as a Drill Instructor on the remote base on Kashyyk, Tarin was approached by an agent of the Republican Commandos. He was told he was chosen to be apart of the Commandos and would be assigned immediately. His role was to be a Combat Specialist, one proficient with many weapons, different terrains, and field tactics and who could take his knowledge in these areas and train others in them (if the Commandos ever had to stir up rebellion or help train allied troops in the field.)
He was assigned to the Sierra Squad, now 29, and was sure that he had finally found his place. After nearly six years with them, he has earned the position of Sierra-1 and second in command. He has shown himself to be devoted to the mission, and loyal to his comrades.
RP Sample The jungle echoed with the wild ambience that had become almost like silence, the noises of the jungle becoming so familiar. So, despite the various hoots and calls made by the inhabitants of the jungle, Tarin felt an eerie silence over the area. All tactical information had pinpointed this location as the exact coordinates of target the team had been sent to eliminate. Tarin and Sierra-3 formed a fire team operating alone in the jungle, with Sierra-Leader and Sierra-2 working on taking out their communications and transport. He kept calm but his senses enhanced as adrenalin ran through his system.
He had used every visual mode available in his modified armor, specifically made to reflect the area surrounding him to create a super-camouflage, that worked well in the jungle. He hadn’t seen anything besides the usual life moving about in the jungle. He continued forward with his blaster at-the-ready, scanning the area in 180 degree sweeps while walking forward in a crouched position, stopping and simply listening every few paces. He could not contact Sierra leader for a report because any communications would likely be intercepted until Sierra Leader had disrupted their Communications tower. Their target was making quite a hassle for the Republic with his highly sensitive tower picking up on secret messages and blackmailing the government with them.
Tarin concluded that the signal transmitted back to headquarters and the one in his helmet might have been corrupted or jammed, possibly putting him in the middle of the jungle miles away from his target and the rendezvous point. Still, he was calm and collected, his many year in the Recon Division and with the Sierra had put him in these kinds of positions before and he knew what to do.
He took a data pad from his belt that showed his position in relation to where he began, he knew the map itself to be inaccurate but the relative positions, direction, and distance were still correct. He estimated his position, based on what briefing had told him, to be 2 klicks south of where he should have been. It wasn’t too bad and he began to head in the direction he should have. He approached with even greater caution this time because he did not have an accurate map detailing the location of the position and the surrounding terrain. He could be walking right into the heart of the encampment, and orders had been to avoid engagement if possible, they did not want it to be known who eliminated the target.
After some time he began to see a clearing in the forest and several targets were identified on his tactical display. He and Sierra-3 dropped to prone position and began scouting the camp. Tarin saw where he should have approached from and the presumed location of the Target. It was night and there was little activity in the camp. The mission had to be done quickly and quietly. Tarin assumed that Sierra-Leader had encountered a similar problem to his, but figured that he would have corrected for that by now. The attack had to be nearly simultaneous as it would not be long before they found their leader dead, or their tower disabled. Tarin lined himself up to his correct approach point and waited for the signal from Sierra Leader. Once the signal that communications were down was given, Tarin figured he would have just enough time to eliminate the target and meet with the rest of the squad at the rendezvous point.
Finally, after what seemed forever, the signal came and the camp began to stir. Tarin knew that many would be distracted by the tower shorting to pay much attention to the camp itself and then moved in. Quickly and quietly, they approached the target building and, just as they hoped, the building had been unlocked as many people inside had left to check on the tower, providing the perfect opportunity to enter unobstructed. They came upon two guards guarding the door to the target. They eliminated their targets with silenced side arms and moved in on the main target for the kill. They went through the main door, Tarin had his vibroblades ready and swiftly killed the target after a short melee. He had completed his mission, now it was the hard part - getting home.
