Arena: An old landing pad on Coruscant. Whoever parked their ship there definitely chose the wrong spot! Combatants, try to keep your arms and legs inside the railing if possible, and watch out for those holes in the middle. It's a long way down. Jakob Rylayus VS Jerek Kahn Duration: 5 rounds Dark Jedi vs Dark Jedi Challenger goes first. Now have at it!

Jakob Gritted his teeth in anger as he yanked his saber from his utility belt and turned it on, emittting a dark Crimson blade. The puring rain drenched him in water, making his black robes feel ten times heavier then the truley were. He new this fight would be difficault, but he wasn't ready to give in, he would give it all he had until one of them was either dead or dying.
He charged at Jerek, leaping over one of the holes in the metal platform, flipping through the air, and bringing his lightsaber down in a violently powerful arc, over his shoulder, and colliding with Jerek's in a deadly lock.
The Crimso-Red Blade crackled and sparked as he pushed on it as hard as he physically could, desperately trying to get the upper hand on his opponent. He glanced off to the left, seeing the lamp posts lightly illuminating the platform in an eerie blue glow. He reached out to it with his left hand, leaving the lightsaber in just one, and crushed the bulbs encased in the very top of it, leaving the platform to be lit only by th glows of the 2 blades.

Jerek's black boots pinged off the metal platform almost as much as the rain did. The rain seemed to slide right off of the slender form of this Dark Jedi. As his black cloak became drenched, Jerek stripped himself of it. The mask he ahd acquired back on Korriban hung from his belt, strapped onto the back of it like a trophy. His lightsaber hung from the right side. It sprang forth from his belt and into his hands.
Jerek looked at Rylayus as he pounced at Jerek. Jerek himself leapt into the air as well, meeting Rylayus in midair, the two blades connecting. Golden sparks flew from the blades' contact point. The smell from the sparks entered erek's nostrils, making them flare.
Jerek and Rylayus hit the ground with two thuds. Rylayus struck out again. Jerek caught the strike on his dark yellow blade. again sparks were born. Then, the platfrom was suddenly encased in darkness, as Rylayus crushed the lamp.
The only form of illumination were the two lightsabers locked in mortal combat; that and the sparks they produced into the darkness. Jerek took his oppurtunity in the dark. He parried his opponent's blade, then back flipped away from Rylayus. He landed almost silently, having used the Force to slow his body down. He also had deactivated his lightsaber in mideflight. He crouched low and skulked torwards Rylayus.
He could see the man's lightsaber and sense him. Rylayus could probably sense Jerek as well. Jerek suddenly flew at Rylayus from the darkness, his lightsaber igniting. He brought the eerie yellow blade down at Rylayus' neck.

Round 1
Shamis Effort: 5/5 Fairness: 3/5 Detail: 4/5 Coolness: 4/5 Bonus: 0/2 Comments: I would have preferred a bit more exposition at the beginning of the post, though what you had wasn't bad. Also, don't assume a saber lock, as not all duelists are going to hard block an overhead slice. I do like the bit about bursting the light. And I can tell that you did put the effort into the post, so good job.
Jerek Effort: 5/5 Fairness: 4/5 Detail: 4/5 Coolness: 5/5 Bonus: 0/2 Comments: Description was nice, but like Shamis, a tad more exposition as to why the characters were there and why there were fighting would have been good. Also, Shamis wrote one attacking stroke in his post, while something slightly different seems to happen in your post. But that's a minor quibble in an overall excellent post. Taking advantage of the low-light situation created by Shamis in the first post is good stuff.
Total
Shamis - 16 Jerek - 18
This doesn't really apply to round 1, but as the duel unfolds, a reminder to be mindful of your own character's strengths and weaknesses and how they match up with the opponents.

Jakob laughed at the man, crouching through the darkness, trying to fool him. "You think you can Hide!?" He stood waiting in the darkness for the man to strike, he could sense his every move, and as he flew through the air, re-igniting his saber and then blocking the over-head strike with little to no effort.
He turned around to face the blank sillhouette in the darkness with a eerie yellow blade extruding from it. He charged at the target once more striking in an upward motion, but sadly his attack was blocked as he spun around through the momentum of the swing, but as he turned to face Jerek once more he unleashed a massive ammount of energy from his palm, a wind so powerful it was nearly hurricane like.

Jerek's yellow blade once again struck and locked with Rylayus' red one. And, again sparks flew from the two lightsabers. Jerek looked through the darkness at where Rylayus was, no doubt sneering with his arrogance. Jerek stepped back as Rylayus struck out with an upward slash. He blocked with his yellow blade, almost giving way under the power his opponent used.
Rylayus may be strong, but he was also arrogant. Then, Rylayus unleashed a hails torm of wind. Jerek thought fast. He gatherwed the Force in his legs. With its strength adding to his mucsles, he leapt away from Rylayus and his little windstorm. Jerek sensed it following him.
He gathered the Force again and leapt to the side. He crouched low in the darkness, allowing the storm to pass over him. He heard its winds rip parts of his robes. Getting up, he looked at the glowing red blade. Jerek growled as he used the Force to enhance his speed. He charged striaght for the arrogant Dark Jedi. As he came within arm's length to Rylayus, he spun off to the left, doing a fancy side-step. He brought his blade in a stab at Rylayus' stomach.

Round 2
Shamis Effort: 4/5 Fairness: 4/5 Detail: 2/5 Coolness: 3/5 Bonus: 0/2 Comments: I think there's a slight issue with pronouns in your first paragraph, as you use 'he' to refer to both your character and Jerek's in the same sentence, and I had to read it twice to figure out what was going on. Also, be wary of assuming a block to your attack. Write and describe the attack, but leave the reaction up to your opponent. Does this limit the number of actions you can do per post? Yes. But you can compensate by describing your movements and attacks in greater detail, especially on that last part with the Force attack.
Jerek Effort: 4/5 Fairness: 5/5 Detail: 3/5 Coolness: 4/5 Bonus: 0/2 Comments: Compared with last post, you seem to have slipped a bit in level of detail. For example, you say the wind storm ripped his robes as it passed over him. Ok... did he feel anything? You do acknowledge your opponent's physical strength. That is good.

Time seemed to speed up if for only a momment as Jerek charged him once more, as he skipped of to the left and jabbed at Jakobs kidneys Jakob bent down backwards as far as he possibally could without falling; he just barely evaded the attempt on his life with the saber singing the top of his black robes and the 1st layer of skin beneath them. He screamed in pain but the injury only enhanced his anger and consequently, power.
He leapt up from his bent over position, back flipping through the air to give him some space as he drew his second saber, a deep violet one. If 1 saber couldnt beat jerek, perhaps two could. Utilizing shien, he charged ar his enemy, allowing his sabers to just barely skip of the watery platform creating a smoky storm of sparks behind him. As he neared Jerek he brought his sabers up in a wide arc which looked as if it were going to strike Jerek in the jaw, but at the last moment Rylayus pulled the two blades up ever so slightly causing them to miss; he used the distraction to bring his foot up in a violently powerful kick towards the abdomen of Kahn waiting for the sweet sensation of his foot to make contact with Jerek's body, feeling the bones crunch under it.

Jerek frowned as Rylayus dodged. Then, he backflipped over Jerek. The next thing he knew, Jerek heard the ignition of another lightsaber. Rylayus had two then. Sneering, Jerek turned to block Rylayus' blow, but was fooled by his ruse. Jerek Went to do a quick backflip away from Rylayus' kick, and was halfway up, when Rylayus' boot hit Jerek's left knee, messing his jump up.
Jerek's flip stoppe halfway through, sending him tumbling to the ground. The two Dark Jedi were pretty close to one of the gaping holes in the paltform. Jerek tumbled to it, falling through it, but luckily grabbed onto the edge just in time. As for his lgithsaber, it had rolled somewhere else on the paltform.
Concentrating hard, Jerek moved a piece of a broken lamp somewhere in the distance. Hopefully it fooled Rylayus enough long enoguh for Jerek to locate his lightsaber. A moment later, Jerek summoned his lightsaber into the air, as he pulled himself up, using the Force to propell straight up in the air.
Slowing his decent from five feet up, Jerek landed on his feet, igniting his lgithsaber. He saw Rylayuss two blades. Jerek gathered the Force into his legs and jumped at Rylayus, swinging his blade down at his opponent's neck as he neared.

Round 3
Shamis Effort: 4/5 Fairness: 4/5 Detail: 4/5 Coolness: 3/5 Bonus: 0/2 Comments: I like how you take a hit, but the fact that you say immediately afterwards that he becomes stronger because of it I think dilutes the effect. A sharp pain when you're bent backwards in a precarious position is likely to send you toppling over, so while anger and power could be a positive side effect of taking a hit, be sure that you acknowledge any negatives as well.
Jerek Effort: 4/5 Fairness: 4/5 Detail: 3/5 Coolness: 4/5 Bonus: Comments: You acknowledge a hit and show the negative consequence of having your jump messed up. That's good. I'm a bit confused on what you meant by moving a piece of lamp to distract your opponent though.
I think it'd be very cool if the fight had continued when Jerek still hanging by the ledge, but that's just my own personal opinion.
