Alright well I just started reading the EU not too long ago...I am getting near to finishing the New Jedi Order series.
Are there any other series that people recommend? It can be from any part of the timeline. and it doesn't have to be a series, it can just be a book which you thought was really good.

Well... personally I would start at the beginning and go chronologically... But if you just want some snippets of the best ones, I would definitely read: -- all the X-wing books, they're hilarious -- definitely all by Zahn, especially the Thrawn trilogy and Hand of Thrawn dulogy -- also, Legacy of the Force is pretty good (but you would probably have to slog through the Dark Nest trilogy to understand more-- Dark Nest is between the NJO and LotF) That's a good start.

I've read the first two (the three hasn't been released yet).
Path of Destruction is good, but Rule of Two I found to be boring.

First ones that come to mind are the Darth Bane ones.... mostly the first. I thought the second was a bit boring, but the third is coming out later this year, I believe.
Darth Bane: Path of Destruction Darth Bane: Rule of Two coming soon --> Darth Bane: ... I forget what it's called.

Darth Bane: Path of Destruction was an amazing book. I recently reread it. If you want a clone wars book, The Approaching Storm was a good one. Had Bariss Offee and her master whose name I can't remember.

Clone Wars wouldn't be pre-Episode I.

Not a pre-movie book, but I suggest the force unleashed. Its awesomeness makes you forget how much the game sucked.

I did read I,Jedi and thought it was great myself. Corran is one of the few new order jedi that I like.
Though they killed Exar Kun T_T

I found the book, The Force Unleashed, to be devoid of alot of details.
