Training. Rhissai loved training. If it wasn't training her body then it was honing her skills with a lightsaber or her prowess in the Force. Though this day was not solely devoted towards training herself... it was towards training another. This other that she chose to train was not her choice. No. It was up to the Force to decide who she would train for the next decade. This fact was disheartening to some, but it most certainly was not to the Jedi Master; she was simply happy to be able to pass her wisdom down to the next generation, the one who received it was of little concern to her. That and she simply loved having a child around.
Ever since she had joined the High Council her peers had been subtly pushing her towards taking a padawan as her own. At first she was apprehensive... it seemed that every padawan she had trained went through a considerable amount of suffering or worse. Miki had died at the hands of a criminal and Dace... well that man was naturally blind now, though he could still see through the Force.
She gave herself a strange look. She was blaming herself for the death of her first padawan and the sufferings of her second. There was but one entity that was responsible for such things: The Force. It was ultimately responsible for every single action and reaction that occurred in the universe, and it had ends of its own. Goals that could not even be seen by the wisest of masters... who were rarely given a glimpse at best. If the Force willed her to keel over and die at that very second there was nothing any single being could do to stop that from happening, just as if it wasn't her time to die there was not a single being in the galaxy that could kill her. This was the case with all things, Dace and Miki included.
Rhiss gave a slight sigh, dispelling the ill cerebrations that plagued her mind. The woman closed her eyes and began to center herself. Her awareness slowly began to expand past her person, it crawled out of the room like creeping vines on the jungle floor. Soon she could feel the people that strode down the corridor, continuing on with their business unaware of the woman that sat not twenty feet away. She slowly began to pin-point the initiates, or those that she thought were initiates, and quietly called them each to the mediation room. The convocation was far from obvious, most of the younglings would most likely not even heed it for fear of being late to their next session for nothing but a primal thought.
She waited...

Qon walked slowly down the crowded corridor not really wanting to go to his next class. He'd spent months reading in the archives he knew all he need to, at least that's what he thought. But it looked like his prayers were answered walking down that corridor, he felt something pull him to the mediation chambers and he never felt anything so strong especial at this time in his training. He swift switched his direction into the pull of the force. Walking toward the mediation he was a little worried that he would be scolded about missing a class, but he soon dismissed this as it seemed like a good reason to turn around.
The corridor soon got less crowded it seemed, it felt like it was just Qon and the force. Qon stood infront of the mediation chambers doors, he was worried what he would find in the room but excited to finally be close to what was behind this door. He finally opened to large doors and saw a woman sitting there in deep thought, he didn't want to disturb her but it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to known that it was her that was pulling him towards her. He sat down and began to meditate with the woman until she noticed him.

Rhissai gave a little smirk as she felt one of the myriads of younglings come towards her little meditation room. Not many people would have turned around from their path to follow the slightest of tugs, even amongst the Jedi life can get a little too hectic and the pull of the Force can often be ignored or discounted. The meager act of turning back and heading towards her chamber was another proverbial chalk mark on the child’s side; it either meant that he had faith or he cared about were the Force was trying to pull him.
The Force may have had ends and they were always met, but the path it takes to that end is often of little concern to the amorphous cloud. That was the reason why Rhissai didn’t simply sit back and let the chips fall as they may, just because the Force wants something of you does not mean it will happen. It may just decide to get what it desires from another… and leave you to your inaction.
The woman had in fact noticed that the child had entered the room and sat next to her, but he said nothing. Perhaps he did not want to disturb her meditation? That may have been the case, but Rhissai was not completely certain. She did not wait thirty seconds before slowly opening her almost stunningly bright green eyes and looking at the boy. She gave a warm smile, one that could easily be interpreted as false… this was far from the case. Any sign of emotion that played across the woman’s face was true, it was her usual stoic façade that was false. She elected not to give him the name that she usually greeted people with; it was a mouthful and he honestly did not need to know it as of that exact moment in time.
“I am Rhissai, what is yours, little one?”
Her tone was nearly motherly… that fact would probably be doubted by some members of the council; Rhissai’s personality was far from “motherly.” With that she turned her head slowly to the boy and awaited his reply.

Qon being in meditation like the woman sitting next to him. He was startled by he voice as it came out of no where. He quickly calmed himself down and looked at her. Her eyes the color of emeralds they were beautiful. He took a minute to examine her for a minute before answering her question.
"My name is Qon Kushiof, I'm sorry if I disturbed you I just to came into the meditation chamber because something pulled me here.”
Qon let off a friendly smile just as Rhissai did to show what he had left of his emotions. He now stared into her powerful green eyes and awaited for her next response. Also Qon wanted to ask her something and didn't want to come off to pushy.

((sorry for the short post, Rhiss doesn't really have too much to say or muse on : /))
Rhissai gave a friendly smile as Qon apologized for disturbing her, it was not needed. She waved her hand, dismissing his apology. The woman stared right back into his eyes as he stared at hers... not many initiates would look a member of the High Council in the eye. Rhiss took note of his courage - if it was indeed that – and tilted her head slightly.
“There is no need for apologies, Qon. It was me that pulled you here... and you seem to be the only one that answered the call. Tell me... what do you want out of the Jedi?”
She desperately hoped that he didn't just tell her what he thought that she wanted to hear; I want to help people, save them, do good, all of those things. Although she often found that children wanted to do all of that.

Qon pondered about the question the woman just asked. What he wanted from the jedi. What did this young man want? Did he want to save people from the evils of the Dark jedi. Did he do it for the adventure. What was it that set his goal apart from everyone else that made him want to become a knight and fight in the cause of what he was taught to be good.
"I want to make everyone around me proud that is my goal, and i know i can achieve that by becoming the best jedi i can be. I know i have a special gift that not many people have and that i must use it to help people and not to destroy people. You could say this is what i want out of the jedi, I know its not what most people would answer but that's what i want to do."
Qon raised his head to look at the master that had asked him the question and then opening his mouth Qon utter
"I want to ask can you help me complete my goal by being my master?"
OOC: I'm sorry if you wanted to ask

((don't worry about it she wants to start teaching him a little about the Force before committing herself either way. Also: Italicized and colored font means thoughts that others can hear. That means Qon ^_~))Rhissai looked right into Qon's eyes as he replied to her open ended question. That is what it was after all: a query without a definite “right” or “wrong” answer. After the boy was done speaking the woman nodded slowly, some locks of her midnight black hair made their way past her shoulders as her chin dipped down. So in essence, this boy wants to make everyone happy... or so he had said. That was nigh impossible... and it led led to a miserable life; one filled with depression, self-loathing, and sometimes even self-hatred. Even if one was the best Jedi they could ever hope to become, but Rhiss was not in the business of crushing children's dreams. That often brought tears. It may have been the softer, more motherly side of her... but she hated hearing the tears of children. But then Initiate Kushiof did a curious thing, he gave her another goal in the same sentence. While this goal was far more plausible than the first, it also meant that he may just be saying what he thought that the Woman wanted to hear. Again she nodded slowly, a few more locks of raven hair escaping to the front of her body as she did so. After a few moments she drew a breath in preparation to speak. “Both are noble goals, Qon. But surely there is something... more... that you want out of the Jedi. We help people on a regular basis... a daily one in fact. Like myself... at your age I never even thought of being on the High Council. I just wanted to explore... to go places that no-one else have gone before so to speak.”To say that Rhissai was not surprised by Qon's question would be an understatement. Not only was she not surprised, but she expected that query... she actually expected it sooner than he asked. The Aphithiri woman gave a little snicker and a warm smile before she spoke. “We will see, Qon, we will see. But for now... I would not mind teaching you something about the Force.”The woman gave a warm smile to the boy. Even if the Force did not will him to be her padawan she would still make it worth while to be missing one of his classes. However this was not the only cause that she was working towards: She wanted to see both how powerful he was in the Force and just how easy it was to teach him. That was not to say if he was hard to teach she would not train him... Dace was quite bullheaded, yet he turned into a great Jedi. At least in her view, he was far better she could ever hope to be. The “boy” would easily become a great High Council Member one day. She quickly shook off those thoughts. Yes, she was immensely proud of her first pupil... but now she had to focus on the boy who could potentially be her third. With that she refocused her gaze on the boy and formed a minor connection with him. He would still have to work to keep it up... but it would be far easier than him trying to form and upkeep one all by himself. “What would you like to learn about, Qon?”

"What would i like to learn?" the question echoed in his ear as if he were in a cave. In his heart young Qon felt a world of joy. Just this question made it seem like he would form a life long bond with this woman. He scratched his bald head as if to show he was thinking hard about this question.
He stared down the woman for a few minutes just pondering at each and ever possibility there was in ever answer he could choose. He finally open his to answer the young woman's question.
"I would like to learn about the force, the masters already taught me somewhat about it but i would like to learn more about it and why its so powerful."
Qon content about his answer. He read much about the force in his studies before meeting this woman. But he needed to know more, the force is a powerful ally to a jedi and it was what helped him find Rhissai. In his heart he knew he had to know more about the force.

(sorry for the late/short reply, and the rather uninspiring answer... been busy with finals 'n' such and my brain = fried, despite the fact that they were two days ago >_>)
That wasn't exactly the answer that she was looking for from the child, but then what did she expect? When one asks an open ended question one doesn't always receive the expected answer. Especially when dealing with a child. She kept the telepathic link alive, just hoping that the boy would try to speak through that rather than "normal" words.
"Using the Force you can do anything you desire... anything that you can possibly imagine and more. However to be able to actually execute some of those actions you must study for years. I am nearly sixty one and haven't even come close to learning everything.
What aspect of the Force would you like to know more about?"

Qon noticed she wasn't using her voice anymore but her mind. It frighten him when he saw she wasn't talking with her mouth but with her mind. Qon calmed down and assessed that the force was responsible. Qon hung his head in disappointment, he had forgot about the aspect of the force. They're were so many to choose from he had began thinking again.
He looked into the eyes of the woman. It had been said that he was good with telepathy and the force, Qon wanted to see that himself. Qon tried to establish a connection through the telepathy. Then after a few minutes of just sitting their young Qon finally said without speaking.
"I'd like to learn about telekinesis and telepathy if that's possible."
