Delvynn sat in a cross-legged position on the floor; she was meditating like the teachers at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant had taught her so well. She knew that her training as a Youngling at the temple was going to be ending within the next few years, so she was making every attempt to simplify her training agenda. Meditation was the first part of this intensive training. This was knowledge any Jedi knew, though.
After a good quarter of an hour of meditation, Delvynn rose to her feet. She activated the force power training droids and readied herself. Force powers were one thing she excelled at for a child because the teachers were not as hesitant to train them in such skills. That being said, she still wished to keep her force powers polished.
The droids entered the room with a faint buzz as their programming was kicked on by Delvynn. A few of them started flying at her; typical protocol droids that only knew how to attack. The young Jedi girl was well aware of how each of these droids would react-- she'd faced them dozens of times before. Being a Miraluka, she had to use Force Sight and Force Vision to see properly during a battle of any sort, so having those skills mastered to the best of her ability is a must.
The young girl force jumped backwards to avoid a droid on the right, then used force push to smash two of them together. The droids crashed to the ground in a crumpled heap only to be replaced by four others. Delvynn landed on her feet and used Force Speed to distance herself from them. She held up her hands and concentrated as hard as she could. One of the droids was grasped within her use of the force. She hurled it with all her might at the other group, sending them into a heap with the other two. Delvynn wiped her brows and sat down to calm her fierce breathing. Using this much force energy at such a young age was a tiring experience for her. Lightsaber training would have to wait. She began to meditate once more to calm herself as was a necessary state to be in to properly wield a lightsaber.
After nearly an hour of meditation, Delvynn was ready for the more intensive training. She rose once more and activated the lightsaber training droids, then ignited her bright green lightsaber. The gentle hum was the only thing that truly alerted her to it's activity, but she could tell where it was through the force. The droids began their assault, but there were only two. No teacher would allow a Youngling to face a large number of training droids at once, regardless of how skilled they were.
The droids homed in on the young girl and began to fire stun lasers upon her. Delvynn whirled out of the way deftly, but that would not gain her any ground. One of the shots struck her left arm and she yelped in pain, but was able to strike down the droid that attacked her. She frantically deflected bolts from the other droid's weapon and could barely keep up.
"This droid is way tougher... the brain must be messed up," thought Delvynn to herself. "I gotta take him down now."
Delvynn ducked under a bolt, then ran as fast as she could at the droid. She raised her lightsaber in the air and sliced it cleanly in two before it could react.
"That made me more tired than I thought... I better take a break."

Yawn. He wanted to very badly, but refused to. Though he didn't, the fact that he wanted to, didn't change. Tired? No he wasn't tired. Bored? No, well maybe he was a little bit. Jace had dealt with his daily duties, meditated for a good while, and was now just sitting. He wasn't one to just be idle, so he was starting to get just a tad bit restless, but that was enough to tell him he needed to do something.
I do still need to do my daily training...
That was more than enough for him to slowly get out of his seat, making sure to do it quietly. It was downtime for the Council, most were meditating quietly, though some others had left the chambers earlier. Though Jace felt slightly guilty about leaving the chambers, he remembered that Eris was always out and about. As the turbolift descended he debated on what he would train on.
I have been neglecting saber training...
Just that one simple thought decided what he would be doing for the next hour or so. Jace hadn't been really neglecting his training but his time had been constricted. Filling in the position of Grand Master was an arduous task, and took up a great deal of his time. He knew that he would soon grow accustomed to the routine, so he was not overly worried.
As Jace made his way towards his usual training room, he stopped intermittently to watch younglings and padawans train. He watched as they practiced their Force techniques, sparred one another, and even sat through lectures. Jace hadn't gotten the chance to teach a class since he last did when he acted as a substitute for Vreem. He told himself that he would schedule a class as soon as he found himself some free time.
He was approaching the end of the hallway which branched off to the East and West wings of the Temple. Stopping suddenly as he was turning left towards the west wing, he stood somewhat at a loss. Something was telling him that he should go train in the east wing today. This was not the first time Jace had felt these gentle Force nudges as he liked to call them.
Intrigued, Jace turned right, and made his way down the east hallway. He had only been walking a few moments before he heard the sounds of blasters, and that of a lightsaber deflecting them. Slowly approaching the training room, Jace peered in, just as the young girl slashed a training robot in half. Upon further study, she seemed to have been training quite hard from what Jace could see.
"That was impressive young one, what might your name be?"

Although she was a Jedi in training, Delvynn was still not capable of detecting approaching presences in the force. So, when someone suddenly spoke behind her, she was so startled she yelped, then turned and flung her disengaged lightsaber straight at the man who'd entered behind her.
Delvynn's eyes widened in sheer terror when she saw who it was that was standing there with a lightsaber careening straight for him-- Grandmaster Jace Beleren. Everyone knew who this man was within the Jedi Temple-- he was the strongest and most advanced Jedi they had. The young girl began to quake in her boots at his presence, but remembered her manners after a short time.
"Ma...Master Beleren!" she said with a long bow that began before after she spoke and looked quite awkward. "It is good to see you around the temple!"
Delvynn's voice showed clear signs of fright and discombobulation with Jace in the room. Many questions flashed through her mind: How long has he been watching? What would he say to her? Was she up to his standards? Was she in trouble?
Suddenly, she remembered two very important things she'd forgotten at the same time. First, she flung her lightsaber at him. Second, she forgot to answer his question. The thing to address first in her mind, though, was her name.
"I'm Delvynn Caalaron," she said evenly. Her confidence that the man would be able to easily contain a thrown lightsaber grew more and more as her sense came back to her, so she was no longer worried that would be a problem. Though, the rebuke she would receive was now on her mind more than anything...

He had had many unusual greetings in his time at the temple from cheery, surprised, and even contempt. Yet never before in his life had he been greeted by a lightsaber being thrown at his face. Jace was so caught up in this thought that he barely reacted in time, catching the lightsaber right before it hit his face. He brought his hand down, revealing an amused expression.
"That is quite the arm you have there, a most unusual greeting. Ahh so Delvyvnn is it? It seems you already know who I am" He stated with a friendly tone.
Jace had been working hard on keeping his tone warmer and more friendly, especially with the younger Jedi. His tone always tended to come out cold even when he didn't want it to be. It had made him quite unapproachable in the past but he was changing slowly.
I suppose its only natural when your only conversation for ten years was with the scum of the galaxy
He studied the pale miralukan girl who stood in front of him. She seemed nervous, but he tended to get that alot with the younger ones. Apparently talking with a council member is somewhat nerve racking, let alone the Grand Master. She of course had nothing to worry about, he wasn't going to punish her, after all he had surprised her.
"You seem to have been training hard, but a break at this time may be prudent. Walk with me, young Delvyvnn" He stated simple, pivoted, and walked back through the hallway with the miraluka hopefully in tow.
"So young one, how do you find Jedi life so far?"

Delvynn shuffled quickly to keep pace with the much larger man as they both walked out of the training room and began to wander the halls of the Temple. The girl stood by the Master's side and a little behind-- a sign of respect.
"Temple life is great, Master Beleren! I've made lots of friends and a lot of the people in my class seem to like me," she began. "All the teachers are nice, but they know what they're doing. I've learned so much at the Temple!"
The young girl's vision with the force brought her curiosity to it's peak as she began scanning everything around her in an effort to figure out where Master Beleren was taking her.

The young Miraluka seemed quite enthusiastic, and Jace took that as a good sign. A Jedi couldn't be reluctant, if you were reluctant to do your duty, then it would never be done properly. Reluctance also meant hesitation, and hesitation could be the difference between life and death. Jace's mind was wandering again, wandering to a place he would rather not go. He had many dark memories, they could be dangerous should he dwell on them too much.
"Good, it would be a misfortune if you weren't enjoying yourself"
Jace kept a decent pace as they walked through the hallways of the Temple. The girl was surely wondering where he was taking her, in truth, Jace didn't really know himself. He was following the Force, it wasn't directing him per se, but he just kept walking trusting it would lead him somewhere. And somewhere it did, it led them to the courtyard of the temple.
The courtyard was one of the most beautiful places in all of the temple. It was because of this that many Jedi found themselves walking through it, or even just idling around. Jace frequently came here himself, it was a great place to help clear ones thoughts. He remained silent for many moments before turning and speaking to Delvyvnn once again.
"It is beautiful is it not? I would have visited here much more often as a Knight had I been around. I guess this is just making up for lost time."
Jace stood there for a few moments, almost as if lost in thought, before continuing.
"I want you to do something for my young one. I want you recite the Jedi code, and then tell me what it means to you. Not what your teachers have told you it means, but what your interpretation of it is"
It had always interested Jace to see what the young ones thought of the code. The code could be interpreted in many ways, most led to good things, some led to bad things. It was all a matter of perspective.

Delvynn continued behind Master Beleren more easily now for he had slowed his pace considerably. They were now in the courtyard of the temple and though she could not see with her eyes the beauty it held, she could certainly see with the force.
"Yes Master Beleren, this place is so pretty! I've only had a few chances to come here so it's always nice to come again," she replied with excitement. Shortly after, she was asked a second question about the Jedi Code.
Delvynn looked at the Jedi Grandmaster with a rather perplexed look from his question. She would not disobey, but she was unsure where this question was coming from or where it would lead. Every Jedi after a year or so in the Order knew the code by heart, so he surely did not wish to test her on it?
"There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force."
Delvynn sat down on a nearby bench, clearly lost in thought for a few minutes. She wanted to give Master Beleren the best answer she could.
After a while, she stood back up to face him once again.
"What the code means to me is, that everyone, no matter who or what they are, can be considered equal under the eyes of the Force. Bounty hunters, Jedi, Senators, the Empire, all of us are the same. The code keeps us on the track of helping others to realize this, instead of using our gifts as an advantage over them," she paused for a few breaths before continuing. "It means, above all else, that there is a balance in the universe that needs to be kept in check, or things will become out of order. It is not our jobs as Jedi to make the universe good, but to make it balanced. This is what the code means to me.
The young Miraluka waited patiently for the Master's response now. She had said a lot, some of which she figured he might not even agree with at all. All she could do was wait and see what he would say.
