Name: Ross Astar
Race: Human
Age: 22
Height: 5'8''
Weight: 140 lbs
Appearance:
Ross is a young man, who is physically fit due to hard training to ensure that he is capable to fight. His height is a little bit short, but this helps his speed anyway. He has short brown hair, which has a long fringe, and pale blue eyes. His overall complexion is relatively pale, but it can look slightly tanned in certain lights. To non Jedi, he is considered rather attractive, but he obviously doesn’t care too much about that being as he is a Jedi.
He likes to wear darker clothes such as black or grey, as he feels that they suit him a lot more. Also, his shirt is generally of a higher length at the collar and different style than most Jedi Knights which gives him independence in that respect. The rest of his outfit is very similar, however.
Birth place: Naboo, Theed
Faction: Jedi
Rank: Knight, Guardian
Bio:
Childhood:
Ross was born to wealthy parents on Naboo, his mother being a relative to the Queen in power at the time and his father being a successful businessman. He was the youngest of three sons, the older two not being strong in the force, and he was the last child of his parents. His family were well respected, and were always known to be charitable and humble, and were usually present around the main parts of Theed. This is where Ross first encountered the jedi.
Master M’ya Jade, a Neti, was visiting Naboo when Ross was two years old, and had gone to court. She had gone there on the purpose to try and locate suitable possible padawans that could train in the way of the force. Although Naboo was a relatively obscure world, she had been trusted to gain at least one new student, and this was likely to be the sole number she would be able to encounter due to its small population. She was present at the court of the Queen, and was soon drawn to the young boy, even though he was so young. The force was evidently strong with him, and as a result she persuaded his mother and father to let him be trained in the ways of the Jedi. Although reluctant at first to let their youngest son go, they were proud that he would join such a respectable order in the end and wished him the best of luck. Ross was soon taken to the Jedi temple of coruscant where he began his training as a youngling.
Jedi Training:
As a youngling, Ross didn’t really stand out from the crowd, like what he had on Naboo. He was slow to learn a lot of things, unlike all of the other younglings, and was seen as being unintelligent. This still affects him today, being as he still is a far better fighter than he is a thinker, and so he prefers not to pretend to be intelligent and instead just concentrates on fighting.
By the age of ten, he was starting to become a lot more capable, however, and finally looked like he was justifying why he had been brought to the temple in the first place. It had rapidly been becoming evident by that point that he was a natural unarmed fighter, and could easily beat any of the other padawans there in a standard fight. His gymnastic capabilities were also second to none, due to his agile reflexes, speed and the overall capability to do great stunts. He was thought to be a graceful fighter, which annoyed many of the other younglings there who decided that he was just showing off. As a result, he was generally teased and made no friends. This meant that he became, and still is, a very shy person who struggles to make conversation with anyone.
Ross' natural fighting ability was both as a result of hard training and pure luck. As a youngling, he had decided to take up learning how to fight unarmed in his spare time with the other younglings. They did not fight hard, but it was good practice and good fun. Also, it taught him how to fight and improved his already good gymnastic capabilities. However, he soon had to learn this on his own when the other padawans became tired of what they considered to be showing off.
Padawan:
At the age of 12 Master Jade decided to take Ross as her padawan, for she was impressed with his natural fighting skills and, what she told him on many occasions, the beauty and finesse of how he completed all of his physical actions. However, she was reluctant to begin with to take Ross as her padawan. Her last padawan, a young sky blue Twi’lek, was killed in training long before she would even be ready to take the trials after a particularly fierce lightsaber duel with a rogue jedi. Master Jade blamed herself for the death of her young padawan, but she still opted to train Ross in the end, out of respect for his skills and the connection that she had with him due to his discovery being her responsibility.
His first task was to create his lightsaber, or lightsabers in his case. Ross had decided from very early on that he would have two weapons. It seemed to add an extra elegance to use two lightsabers than just having the one. M’ya advised against the use of two may be difficult, but he was determined to do this. As a result, he completed his two lightsabers, using a dark shade of purple for their colour. He was immensely proud of what he had created, which gave him a slight arrogance which had before been alien to him.
The crystals that were used in the lightsabers, both the focusing ones and the colour crystals, were found in various places on Coruscant. The two focusing crystals were located in a small stash of stolen goods that a bounty hunter had collected. His master, on hearing that there were stolen goods, set out to recover them, albeit without the help of her padawan. He was instructed to stay at the temple for M'ya did not think he was ready to face a proper enemy yet. The lack of trust did annoy Ross, but he respected his master's wishes. Once recovered, the majority of the goods were given back to their owners but she was allowed to give the two dragite crystals to her padawan. The two purple crystals came from M'ya's old lightsaber and that of her old padawan's. He had heard that they had came from Dantooine originally, but he wasn't too sure on that, despite him doubting that they came from anywhere else.
After two years of instruction from his master and pure dedication, he finally learnt how to properly use his lightsabers in combat. He greatly admired his master for giving him such valuable instructions on how to fight with them, and how to be even more graceful than he was already, and so he saw her as a mother figure, and had a deep connection with her. Although she regularly scolded him for his arrogance about his fighting style and the lightsabers he wielded, he still persistently tried his best to complete the tasks and lessons she set out for him to complete.
One such example was to locate and recover a missing Kybuck which belonged to a wealthy business man who resided in the upper levels of Coruscant. The animal was very expensive, especially being as it was rare to that planet, and the man was very eager for it to be rescued. Ross agreed eagerly to this mission, hoping that he would finally get the chance to use his abilities to do good for someone as opposed to simply practising them. Although the mission was completed with ease, and there was no danger involved in any way imaginable, it was still thoroughly enjoyable. The whole Coruscant landscape amazed him, its grime in the lower levels sharply contrasting the beauty of above. The Kybuck was returned safe and sound, but the next mission would not be so easy.
Ross’ first mission on another planet came when he was 15, and he, along with his master, were sent to go and bring a rogue jedi back to the order from his place of hiding located on Dar’Or. Naturally, this flooded M’ya’s mind with heavy doubts on whether to go, the fear of losing yet another padawan to a rogue jedi being immense. However, her young padawan was eager to prove himself in some type of combat, for he wanted to prove he could fight well whilst fighting an actual opponent who meant him harm. His arrogance may have been making him more eager than he should; however M’ya knew that he was capable of completing the challenge. Thus, they travelled to their destination.
Surprisingly, the rogue jedi, another human, was easy to find amongst the various woods of Dar’Or. His hideout was unimaginatively located in a large cave just on the edge of one of the larger woods. M’ya had been looking over at the other side of the forest, so her padawan was left to venture into this part by himself. Ross, his youthful arrogance getting the better of him, immediately leapt into the cave, anticipating the duel before even planning it ahead, which was what his master had advised him to do. His use of flawlessly executed gymnastic routines, turned handily into a means of fighting, and the use of his twin lightsabers seemed to prove effective against the foe, although he was defending himself very well in addition to this. Over the course of the fight, Ross leapt and used generally graceful techniques to avoid the end of his foe’s crimson lightsaber, much to the admiration of the rogue jedi. Again, another skilled member, or former member in this case, was praising him for his most loved asset, and one which would ultimately win the fight. The other jedi, growing tired of the duel which seemed to be an equal measure of strength between the boy and himself, pushed a large tree in his way using the force. Leaping aside, Ross managed to jump onto a nearby space of ground which would definitely be safe from the rapidly descending tree. After watching it tumble to the ground, he jumped back to where the dark jedi was and quickly dispatched his weapon from his hand, for he was distracted when the tree failed to achieve its target.
Ross then met back up with his master and they brought the rouge jedi back with them to the council. Over the next years, before he reached the age of twenty two, his master continued to teach him in the ways of the force, making him both a wise and skilful padawan. His previous arrogance in his grace had become a lot weaker, although it was still there, and although his intelligence was still weak, he had become far more adept at thinking. M’ya then recognised that it was time for him to attempt the jedi trials, and finally become a jedi knight.
He completed these tasks, although they were a severe challenge to him, and was then made a Jedi knight at the age of 22. Furthermore, he made his master infinitely happy as she had finally seen a padawan of hers develop fully into a knight and she was completely proud of his skills at combat.
Jedi Knight:
Currently, he is a rather young and inexperienced Jedi knight. He has had no missions as of yet as a Knight, and has instead just been stationed at the temple. This was rather annoying to him, considering that he worked so hard to become a knight in the first place, but he was being patient and knew that he would probably get missions soon.
Meanwhile, his master had taken a new padawan, even though Ross had never personally met this new apprentice of hers. Although M’ya still did give the odd task to complete to try and make him a stronger knight but strangely, he felt oddly jealous of this new Padawan at first but has since become far more accepting of this. He knew that someday both would have to move on, and this is exactly what has happened. If one thing came out of it however, it is now that he would like to take his own padawan. Despite being painfully shy, he considers that it his duty to do this.

Ross stepped out of the ancient chamber looking into a vast maze which was shaded deep terracotta on its stone walls. It was a relaxing atmosphere, in the type of way that also foretold danger. In fact, he wasn’t even sure why his master had told him to go to this relatively obscure part of Coruscant. Although he was a Knight now, and had very little contact with his master being as she was training another padawan, he still accepted advice from her every now and then. He was beginning to regret that decision now however.
Single flame lamps flickered on the walls, illuminating small pieces of the flooring although the gloom of the place seemed to render any light unnecessary. Glancing around, Ross could hear nor see anything; thus he decided that there probably was something there. Malevolent creatures had a way of emerging from dark places when they were undetected. It was kind if a given by now after his training that stereotypical places of hiding weren’t always so farfetched.
A low rumbling, like the sound of a faint growl in the distance, could be heard behind him. Smiling slightly at being correct on the stereotype, Ross rapidly turned around, looking start into the creatures form. Its eyes were like spotlights, penetrating into any shred of fear that he may have had inside himself, and it’s body was formed like a great slug. He had never seen such a beast before, which is probably why his master decided to let him test his skills out.
The slug, its purple form shining in the darkness because of the slime on it, lunged forwards at him, trying to crush the young Jedi under its great weight. However, Ross was able to jump up and land on one of the ledges that had been formed on the walls of the maze. Observing the monster, he decided that it would be infinitely slow, and would rather use its brute strength to try and succeed in a fight. Fortunately, one of his main assets was his speed so he decided, perhaps a bit too arrogantly, that this creature would be easy to defeat.
Jumping down suddenly behind it, he immediately set to work on attempting to kill it. He drew his twin lightsabers, the colour of their blade a deep purple which tinted his whole black outfit that shade. He dressed a bit darkly for a Jedi, and others had noticed this, but he was a Jedi in every other possible way. Slashing at the slug, whilst dodging any lunging movements it made towards him, Ross cut off various pieces of the jelly type substance that made up his body. However, the creature was still going strong, despite a slight loss of power on its parts.
Performing a perfectly executed back flip on to the creature’s other side, Ross plunged one of his lightsabers into what he assumed was the head. It was a small bead compared to the rest of it and was roughly the shape of a human head. However, it appeared to not have any eyes, or nose and just had a cavernous hole which was evidently the mouth. Once the blade had been struck deep into the head, the creature let out a great cry of agony, which pierced any poor person’s ears close enough to the scene.
Ross covered his eyes when the scream began, making it lose a lot of its impact. The body, now just a large pile of nothingness, sat there. It didn’t collapse, nor did it topple over. It looked alive apart from the lack of movement, which was a relief for the young Jedi for he was too tired to leap out of the way if it should have toppled over in his direction.
Smiling, proud of the accomplishment, he left the maze, knowing exactly which way he had come. The time outside was sunset, the sun looking like a great wound in the sky as it tinted the rest of it a deep red. Ross looked over to it, pleased of seeing some kind of sky again, and headed back to the Jedi temple.
