On the Hunt

[Tal]

As the ship settled on the edge of one of the towns of the desert planet, Italia grew ever more restless. Standing, she walked to the back of the ship and gazed out one of the small windows trying not to pace around. She didn't like being back here one bit.

[Kiriin Radd]

Kiriin unstrapped himself from the pilot's couch and made his way back to his quarters. Unlike most cabins on a ship like this there were many different things that cluttered the room. Many of his different trophies from previous hunts were mounted on the wall or on the shelf that was attached above his bed.

Adorned on the wall above his bed was the skull of the mastiff he had killed all those years ago. He began rummaging around in some ammo crates for spare power cells and various knick knacks for forced entry. He threw a bandoleer over his shoulder and loaded it up with a variety of grenades. The grenades ranged from frag, sonic, concussion and even ion grenades. He came prepared for anything.

He hefted a long blade from his shelf and looked it over. The hilt of the blade had been fashioned from one of the long canines like the mastiff skull hanging above his bed. It was unique, but useless in a fight. Putting down the ceremonial weapon he slung an extra verpine shatter rifle over his chest plate.

He marched back out into the corridor that led to the ramp. He palmed the control and the ramp descended. Heat from the desert world with two suns poured into the ship. Kiriin was unaffected by this due to his suit. He turned back down the corridor leading to Italia's room waiting for her patiently.

[Tal]

Italia stepped out of the ship easily and out into the familiar twin suns.

Let's go my friend....we've got supplies to aquire, and a local to question.

She stated, leading the way, she easily followed her memories through the small city. Stepping into a small shop, she swiftly made her way around, gathering the things she needed as if she knew where everything was, and should be.

[Kiriin Radd]

Kiriin followed her silently as she made her rounds about the shop. He was an imposing figure in his full armor. The few that were around this time of day gave him a wide berth. Even those that looked like they would jump anybody and sell their own mother for some spice stayed well enough away from him. He easily fell into the role of bodyguard for Italia.

So care to tell me what we're doing here and why you need all of this stuff?

[Tal]

Italia rounde on him as he spoke, a slight smile on her face.

You've never dealt with a Hutt before have you?

She asked simply.

Not only that, but we'll have to cross the desert on a speeder to get to where I need to go...at least if I'm correct in what I think it going on.

She added, gazing at him and grinning, thinking that he did indeed make an imposing sight.

[Kiriin Radd]

Kiriin smiled behind his visor at the comment about dealing with Hutts. Now he had only dealt with one hutt in his life and it hadn't turned out well. They were all two timing back stabbers out for their own tails. He reached down and readied the verpine shatter gun that he favored. It let out an audible sound and the owner of the store jump at it. Kiriin looked over at the Rodian and shook his head no.

This isn't for you my friend, although a discount price would be nice. Maybe a life time membership to your VIP club? I've dealt with my fair share of Hutts and lets leave it at that.

[Tal]

Italia laughed slightly and walked over to the counter, amazed by Kiriin's sudden sence of humor.

Well well...since when did you get a sence of humor?

She asked him with an even larger grin, putting several ruppees ((sp?)) on the counter to pay for the items. The rodian looked from Italia to Kiriin, and back again.

"Don't I know y..."

Doubtful.

she said cutting him off.

[Kiriin Radd]

(its credits by the way, lol)

Kiriin raised the rifle ever so slightly as the Rodian eyed Italia as he spoke. She cut him off quickly and he glanced in her direction. He noticed that she had been here before and that things were probably going to go downhill from here on out. He checked his HUD for anyone paying attention to him through the main entrance. Seeing no one paying particular attention he looked back at Italia as she paid the man.

If we're finished here then lets get a move on. Thank you again sir for your kindness. I'll expect the same if I ever return.

[Tal]

Italia grunted slightly and slipped out a side door that had seemed to only appear moments before. Motioning him to follow her, Italia stepped out into the sun once more and headed down a back alley.

We need to hurry. No doubt that rat will tell someone he's seen a ghost....and I don't want my contact to disappear.

She glanced up and grabbed hold of one of the cross beams of wood, sticking out of a roof, and pulled herself up, flipping onto the rooftop lightly.

[Kiriin Radd]

Kiriin watched as she gingerly pulled herself up and onto the rooftop of the store. He glanced back at the closed door he had followed her through and noticed the Rodian with an electronic device in his hand through the x-ray field of his visor. He reached up and easily pulled his body weight up onto the roof next to where she lay.

Well now fearless leader. Care to fill me in on what's going on and if you have a plan or not? If you do it would be beneficial if you let me in on it don't you think?

[Tal]

She chuckled slightly and continued to lay where she was, not planning to move any time soon.

Well Mr Bodyguard...I plan on laying here until my little rodian friend down there decides to call his friend. That is my contact. The dug will come in this side door...as always...I hit that rope over there and the trap i just set will go off, pulling said dug up to us.

We question said dug, get my information then continue from there.

[Kiriin Radd]

The veteran hunter smiled behind his visor wishing she could see how proud of her he was. He nodded his head at the though of questioning a Dug and laughed. He pulled one of the sonic detonators from his bandoleer and prepped it for the Dug. He looked back down below him in the store and noticed that the Rodian was still on the comlink he had dug out after they left. He set his built in communication equipment to pick up the conversation. He reached into a pouch and pulled out a small ear piece and handed it to Italia.

Here put this on. You'll be able to listen to our friend call up your Dug, which he is doing at this very moment. I also have a little surprise for our Dug there too.

[Tal]

Italia chuckled slightly and slid the earpiece into her ear, listening intently to the conversation below them.

"Whattar you talkin about, eh? I told you she was here! Just get over here eh? Hmm...shes taller, but dont think shes much smarter...Nah...she had to hire a body guard though....she must really want Hataaran dead yeah? No....I need you here in person....WHY? YOU'RE the tracker....not me! Just get your lazy self over here you piece of...Good."

With that the rodian ended the transmisison and fluttered into a back room. Italia couldn't help but chuckle at this conversation and shake her head slightly.

[Kiriin Radd]

Kiriin lay perfectly still as he waited for their quarry to show themselves. He knew it would probably take a little bit for the Dug to show, but he had learned the art of laying in wait over the years. He lay on his left side looking towards Italia and admiring her features, while he still had his sensors scanning the area looking for the Dug.

Now all we do is wait. You bag him and I'll tag him. Then we'll both interrogate the bugger.

[Tal]

Italia snickered slightly and kept watch over the alley below. She could feel him watching her, but she chose to ignore it. He was a comrad, that's all. She wasn't one for romantic feelings...they only got a person into trouble...she'd learned this the hard way once before.

Sounds like a deal.

She replied with a grin, still only glancing at him before looking back to the alley. After a while of waiting, Italia shifted slightly in her spot, her dark hair burning her right arm slightly as it absorbed the suns' heat. Only moments after this a gruff looking Dug padded around the corner on his foot-like hands.

Grumbling to itself, the dug glanced up and down the alley before heading over to the side door. Italia aimed her shot carefully, and with one clean hit broke the rope on the other side of the alley, pulling the dug up by it's hand/foot and into the air infront of them.

"It IS you! You worthless little piece of bantha poo-doo!"

The Dug snarled, struggling to grab hold of Italia with one hand, and get his dagger to cut himself down with the other.

[Kiriin Radd]

In one quick blurred motion as the Dug started to reach for Italia, Kiriin made his move. The sonic detonator firmly adhere to the Dug's snout with a plop and pinged as it primed itself. Kiriin grinned predator-like behind his visor.

Shut up and relax. Try to take that off and your fried. That thing there is a little something I cooked up in my spare time. You try to remove it or I activate it and it cooks your inside under five seconds. Now listen to what she has to say and I hear one smart remark from you and it's roast Dug for dinner. Well di'kut?

He aimed his side arm at the Dug just in case he fell for the man's bluff.

[Tal]

Italia glanced at him slightly and smirked as the Dug began to sweat slightly.

Alright Kirat...where's your boss?

She asked simply, not caring to beat around the bush with the dug, that she apparently knew by name. The dug snorted slightly and glanced back and forth between the mandalorian and the woman.

"Sorry Lia, but you know the rules....can't tell a SLAVE where her master is! if she doesn't know she's fair game to be hunted."

He replied stiffly, appearing to try and be somewhat civil.

[Kiriin Radd]

There was a press of a thumb on a visible detonator and small lights lit up and started to count down on the explosive attached to the Dug. It chirped its agreement to activate as the button was pressed. Kiriin moved up and got right in the Dug's face as he spoke.

Okay di'kut. You will tell me then or I could just let my little surprise cook you. You have fifteen seconds to make up your mind and tell us or I won't be able to save your sorry hide.

He backed away again and shoved the barrel of his blaster in the Dug's left eye.

[Tal]

Kirat grunted and squirmed slightly, but didn't say a thing for a long moment...but apparently the will to survive out weighed the need to not anger his master.

"Fine! Fine!....he's at his summer grounds! If you don't remember where they are on your own Lia, that's your fault!"

Are Ikta and Joebba there as well?

She pressed. The dug sqirmed once more and nodded.

"Yes...all of them...and a few others...new ones..."

Who?!

"I can't tell you!"

[Kiriin Radd]

There was a muffled shot being fired that echoed throughout the alley and the now seemingly dead Dug was limp dangling upside down. Kiriin rose to his knees and pulled the Dug to him untying his foot. He didn't look at Italia as he worked. The lights died on the small explosive as the man deactivated it. He unceremoniously yanked it off of the Dug's face taking some skin with it and stashed it back on his bandoleer.
