It was proveing to be a good day, Jack and his buddies had earned a fair lump sum of hutt bullion to buy drinks for themselves at the Cool well. He chuckled at himself. Earned, if thats what you'd call robbing farmers and pilgrims of their money.
He and his buddies walked with a purpose down the city streets, most folks steered clear of them. They knew not to mess with the Devil Rats of Mos Phobo. Up ahead some kid was messing with their swoops... That had to be dealt with.
"Hey!" Jack shouted. The kid nearly leapt out of his skin and ran for the shelter of the nearest alleyway. "Damn kids. Tony, take Basta, and Raeme. Go find the kid." Two of his men broke off, and hopped onto their speeders to go chase down the kid. Jack was confident they'd teach him a lesson. Don't mess with Devil Rat swoops.
Yep, it was a good day.

Ardent strode down the street, Catu and Copler close behind. They were getting a feel for Mos Phobo, their new temporary home. They had had to flee to the city after a recent fight on Mos Eisely. Ardent had engaged a smuggler woman in conversation just before some enemies of hers had come in looking for her. Suddenly Ardent and Rein had become guilty by association. The fight was bad, and steadily getting worse when the smuggler woman suddenly disappeared. Rein and Ardent had quickly neutralized the remaining attackers, and then left in a rush, eager to get away from the scene. They had left the city, and had settled on Mos Phobo for a new base of operations.
Now they were back to square one: scouting the streets, trying to get a feel for the place and its people, and gather any information they could.
Suddenly a fearful cry sounded from somewhere to the right. Turning, Ardent gazed down a shadowy alley, watching as three men cornered a young boy. They were all brawny and dirty, with wicked smiles marking their faces. Ardent grimaced; they were nothing but common thugs.
Ardent turned forward again. He couldn't do anything... he just couldn't. They had to hide out, lay low. But he was still a Sith, even if only in heart. He couldn't stand by and let this happen. He had a duty: to protect and serve. If he did something, though, he might cause another scene, and subsequently force them to move yet again.
Turning to the side once more, he caught one of the thugs grabbing the boy and wrenching him close. That's enough.
He looked back to the others. They only nodded. Turning around, he ran headlong into the alley. Skidding to a stop before the thugs, he shouted. "Let go of the boy!"
The thugs turned to the little group and smiled. "Get outta here guy, this ain't none of ya business. You don't want mess wit' us, we's Devil Rats.
Ardent stood his ground. He had made his decision, there wasn't any turning back now. "Let go of the boy." He said again, quietly yet firmly.
The lead thug's face contorted in anger. Letting go of the boy, he turned to fully face Ardent. The Sith's hand strayed to his blaster, but he thought better of it. In the crossfire that would ensue the boy might get hurt, and blaster fire might attract unwanted attention. No, this would be hand-to-hand.
The thugs seemed to think otherwise. The leader reached for his pistol, forcing Ardent to react instantly. He jumped forward, grabbing the man's gun arm with his left, wrenching it out and up; pointing it away from everyone around them. Three shots rang out as the man struggled against him, attempting to bring the blaster back down to bear against him. He heard other scuffling sounds and shouting, and was bumped hard in the back.
Catu and Copler must be in the fray, he thought. He brought his knee up into the mans groin, and then again into his chin has he doubled over. He twisted his grip around as the man stumbled backward, wrenching the blaster from his gasp. At the same time his right fist flew forward, striking the man in the the nose. He felt cartilage break and give under the blow, and the man went down in groaning agony.
Looking around, he found the other miscreants in much the same condition, Catu and Copler standing over them. Pocketing the thugs blaster, he looked to the boy. "Get outta here kid." The boy nodded. Without a word he took off.
He looked to his comrades. "Let's make sure they're out cold and tie them up well. We'll hide them here behind the trash bins. With any luck we'll be long gone before they're found." The others nodded, and they went to work.
A few minutes later they were walking once more down the dusty street, looking no worse for wear. He turned back to the others and smiled. "Well, I think that went well."
They nodded, chuckling, and Ardent turned back to surveying the street.
Where to next?

Basta woke up with a womprat licking his face. Oh they were gonna find those guys. First thought they were gonna have to tell Jack. Jack needed to know there were some big hitters in town. He woke up his comrades and they untied themselves and ran off into the dirty streets to find their leader.
