Well, what I mean, is I know some SW terms, stuff used in EU

"Son of a Gundark!" (Sonuva Gundark lol) (Gundarks are Rather B****y beasts if I remember Properly)

"Nerf-herder" (Implies Retardation)

Anything involving a Gammorean or a Shaven Wookie.


I mean, it's NOT hard to be creative and funny about Curses in Star Wars. They wouldn't HAVE the F-bomb, as that originated from a battle in the Hundred-years war as "Pluck Yew" an English taunt at French Soldiers

B**** is kind of Universal, because it's REALLY not that bad of a word unless used with that intent, A Bitch is, frankly, a Female dog, currently in heat or bearing pups.

To really discuss this, we'd have to go into Etymology, the study of the Origins of words, and Frankly, I don't want to have to Etymologize the ENTIRE SW UNIVERSE to make you people new swears. Just get creative! know what's nasty? a Lylek. Make something with that instead of resorting to Primitive Human swears that wouldn't exist

Also don't forget the whole line of "Sith" curses. You've got Sith's Blood, Sithspit, and a couple of others. For mandalorians, there's Osik, Dikut, Shaab, and a few creative uses of those and more main-stream curses. Well, on a slightly different note, I'm actually for a different rule set. I don't generally mind censoring that much, but only if you can tell what was originally being said. If they're saying sh*t, it shouldn't read nuts. The concepts they're portraying should be kept intact, even if the censor is still in place.

Obviously, there are still ways around censors. I can use the latin letter ï instead of i, and a variety of similarly devious ways. There are also a number of other tricks to getting around one. Personally, I find censorship rather distasteful, it can limit the expressions people have available to them. The difference between f*ck and frak is a lot more than you'd think, and such childish mannerisms are far from realistic.


In summary, I don't support censoring, but if you're going to censor, at least let us understand what's being said. Blank out letters, rather than changing the whole word please.

Heh.. on another SW site I'm a member on... the f-word has been replaced with "ewok," the s-word with "sith," bitch with "bith" and so on in the censor list.

I find it vaguely amusing when people are telling you to go ewok yourself.
