The sound of young voices bubbled in the air of a very large circular room. Massive windows lined said room, their view that of the city planet Coruscant as the rising sun bathed the classroom in gilded light. Filling the room were a large group of children of various species and ages, most of them looking to be younger than ten standard years. Some of the children played games with one another, slapping each others hands or prodding one another. The voices remained steady as a much older man stepped into the room. Large golden eyes scanned the room, and a slow, wet breath was taken by him. To be young again... thought the elder man. A couple of the children became silent as he entered, looking up at the Mon Cal. He quickly clapped his hands for silence, some of the kids squeaking in shock at the sudden sound.
The elder Jedi took in another shaky breath and put his left arm behind his back in the small of his back as his other hand came up to begin tugging gently at the whiskers that hung off his face. "Good morning younglings. I am Sage Master Ozzril Ackbar. Some of you may already know me, some of you may not. I am a member of the Jedi High Council, as well as the primary instructor for these classes." Ozzril started as he slowly paced in front of the class. He paused for a moment to cast an approving eye over the class. "For some of you, this will be your first class, others may have joined me before." The Jedi continued, nodding back at a few students who smiled at him. "I see we have a few younglings missing still- but that's fine, first things first. I would like to hear your names, as well as your thoughts about class. Scrii, you're the eldest child here, please start." Ozzril said as he gestured with his right hand to a female Trandoshan.
The orange skinned reptile nodded then uttered some hisses and snarls. A small floating translation droid floated among the students- very handy for those that couldn't speak basic- and then said in a slightly feminine tone "I am Scrii Sluuth, and you know me Master Ozzie, I just want to impress my future master, whoever they might be." Ozzril nodded and opened his mouth slightly, a Mon Cal smile. "Good Scrii, now just go in order from left to right, hopefully by the time we're done, we'll all be here." The old Jedi said as he went back to stroking his whiskers with a bemused expression. How wonderful the presence of young minds is... thought Ozzril as students went down the line, listing off names and dreams, wants, and fun facts about themselves.
