General Keller stood at the bridge of his armada's flagship. The Exodus drifted the calms of space followed by a light support squad. In short, not an invasion force.
The Mandalorians and the Echani were always fiercely bitter to one another but always held the other in respect. Both races were battle hardened and made up over half of the elite fighting force of the galaxy.
The Mandal were little more than brutes. They were strong and fought hard. Headstrong, they would brutally beat down every opponent that stood before them. In this manner they gained much fame for their fearsome tactics. They fought with a fiery passion.
On the other hand, the Echani were refined warriors. Years of sacred training formed the warrior of the Echani. Rather than talk, the skilled combatants would fight one another to learn the true potential of their skill and wisdom. Not once has an Echani given up or been invaded.
Keller knew the stiff past between the two races, this made him all the more keep to meet with the Mandalorians. He was a master combatant of the Echani arts and lead a respectable portion of the Republic navy. Both factions were hated by the Mandalorians.
They would have to give him the respect of meeting him. While brutes, they honored battle. General Keller had seen more fighting than many of the most elite Mandals of any pact. Now Keller wanted to meet and attempt to make some sort of amends.
He sent a message via the old Republic channel, it would be picked up by the Mandalorians and hopefully they would respond accordingly:
"Mandalorians, I commend you for this display of military readiness. I am General Keller of the Republic Navy. I have come not out of hate or war, but for peace.
Too long have we been at one another's neck. I ask for meeting with your Mandalor to discuss the handling of this planet and your people. Meet with me, and that is all I ask. I can travel solely to your camp, there is no need for further strife here. Send message back, all frequencies are open and ready for your response."
