Alright, so I said I would create a new thread for ‘The Disciples of Light’ and this is it. After talking things over with Meira and Jace we decided to change the name of from The Disciples of Light to Blades of the Order since the first option was a bit too similar to the Army of Light for our liking. Whilst there are still a number of exact details to be sorted out there is still something people thinking of signing their Jedi characters up need to know.
First of all, this group is not approved by the Jedi Order, it will be similar in a number of ways to what Revan’s group did in the Mandalorian Wars. However, there are some differences as well. The primary reason that this group is formed is because once the next Supreme Chancellor declares war the Jedi council will vote to abstain from fighting against the Mandalorians and the Sith Empire. However, Vreem will be making this group against the best wishes of the Council. But Jedi who join this group will not be cast out from the Order. Vreem (as we’ve discussed so far, along with Rhissai who is also meant to be joining this group) is meant to be keeping his seat on the High Council and the two groups will still work together, but Knights of the Order will not participate in a fashion that intentionally leads to war or similar combat.
The group still is not formed IC and likely wont be for a little while yet as the new Supreme Chancellor needs to be brought in and the Council needs to debate and such. But I will be signing up the names of those who intend to have their Jedi join the Blades. Just do keep in mind that they will not be entirely welcome by the Order. And even though I understand many would like to have their Jedi see combat, keep in mind that most Jedi would not want to get into war due to past events such as the Mandalorian Wars. And with no one (other than the High Council) knowing about the possibility of the Sith’s return this is also a reason Jedi would likely not join. The idea is to try and keep it so that most of the Jedi stay with the Order and do not go off with the Blades. The rest of the Order will eventually join the war, but likely only when the Sith reveal themselves.
Please do think hard about this before signing your character up as there will still be some division between these two Jedi factions, primarily between the members of each group who will have clashing views/beliefs. If any High Council Members not initially on the list wish to join please talk to Jace first.
So yes, if you want to join up, just post in this thread with your character’s name and rank, younglings will not be accepted and if your character is a padawan you might want to consult with the master about what they are doing. Also, a link to the profile would help.
