The Savvy Savrip, neither a dive, nor the best resturant in Worlport, but the food is good, no matter how greasy. Nerf Burgers 10 credits, Chili Dumplings 7 credits, Mounder Rice 2 credits, Corellian Potatoes 2 credits, and many more... "refined dishes" await you at this little pub and grill.
If your looking for something special talk to Mac, the cook, or Berry the bartender.
The Savvy Savrip is a bar and grill near the end of the main strip in Worlport, capital city of Ord Mantel. Its a long single story building with a small patio out front with chairs and tables, catering to the common folks that like a good nerf burger.
The Bartender, Benny, is a comedic sorta fella. Always smileing, unless somone gets a little bit too drunk, then he has Mac toss em out. Mac, the cook, is the best meat cook, this side of the galaxy. He's a burly fella, carries his gurth with good humor. The two make a quiet little living there at the Savvy Savrip, serving good food, cheap booze, and casual company.
Benny:"Welcome to the Savvy Savrip kiddo! What can I have Mac cook up for ya?"

Raph'e strode into the little pub, taking everything in. Ord Mantell was a strange place. It was a decent, reputable world of high standing. Yet at the same time it had a seedier side, with slums, crime, and many other signs of civilization's dark side. This place reflected that perfectly, thought Raph'e.
It wasn't a seedy dive, but it wasn't a clean, formal restaurant of high repute. It held an air of advancement, of civility. But at the same time it was cozy and comfortable, and had a dirty air to it. One wouldn't be surprised to see a group of corporate executives in a booth next to some smugglers.
He went to the bar, Fixer and Ribber in tow. Taking his seat, he signaled the bartender. "Hello, could I get a nerf burger and some mounder rice? And something sweet to drink. Berry wine, if you have it. Thank you."
Turning, he addressed Fixer. "So, what's Ord Mantell like? I've only been here a few days, and all that time was spent looking for a job. I'm afraid I don't know a whole lot about this place."
(sorry couldn't think of anything good lol)

((Your doin fine, find that confidence to post anything. )) Fixer ordered his Nerf Burger, and a Jawa Beer. Casually he eyed Ribber for a moment, and ordered her a Lantern Stirfry over Mound Rice, along with a Ruby Bliel. To which she smiled and chose a booth for them to sit in. When their drinks came Fixer picked them up and wandered over to the booth that Ribber had sat in. Fixer habitually sat across from her and stuck their order number in a little holder at the end of the table, and watched interestedly as Raph'e sat down next to Ribber, who tried to hide her smile. Fixer couldn't help but want to chuckle, but he stifled it. "Whats Ord mantel Like?" Fixer said to himself. He squinted his eyes in thought and took a sip of his beer. "Well, a little bit of history about the place. Just like any other 'Ord', this planet used to be a Republic store house for ordinance and starships. Thats what gives it such an appeal for junk dealers and criminals. It houses a large part of the criminal underworld thats tied into ships, and travel mainly. Same reason I chose Ord Mantel as me and Ribber's base of operations. The materials for building are cheap. The place has five Star Cruiser junk yards and several smaller ones for frieghters, and reposessed vehicles." Fixer casually took a sip of his beer. "Its a great place for business. There is the problem of getting attention for the business Galaxy wide though. We could definately use a couple more people working in the shop. We aren't quite at production levels of employment yet, but with power restored to the Odyssey, we could definately repair just about any ship that could fit in the Hangar, and a few that couldn't." Fixer's eyes seemed to gleam with ambitious thought. When he realized he was dreaming he flicked his eyes back to his beer and took a long swig. "Thing is, we don't have the facilities to take on big work yet. As soon as we've made enough money, we might want to see if we can get a pre-fabricated cruiser dock brought in here from off planet." Fixer took another sip of his beer and sighed. "Thats a long way off though. We need some things to get the Odyssey back to working order. Metal Grating, some hull plateing to cover up some of the exploded sections aft and midship. We may even want to gutt a couple of the sections so we can repair things effectivly. Oh yeah, and we need a maitinence droid of some sort. We can't be everywhere at once." When he finished his sentence a cook about the size of an escape pod and smelling of Garlic, set down their food on the table and made his way back into the back. Fixer took his blunt knife and cut his burger in half and took a bite.

Raph'e took a seat in the boot next to Ribber, smiling towards he as he did so. The booth was out of the way and cozy, just how he liked them. He caught the smell of a dish in a nearby booth, and his mouth watered. When would the food arrive?
He perked up as Fixer replied to his question, listening intently as the mechanic spoke. "That sounds good. Once we get the whole place covered up we should think about the ship systems we wouldn't be using. We could divert the power that would usually be going to weapons, shields, artificial gravity, etc. and use it to bolster our repair efforts. We could probably increase productivity tenfold. But yeah, if we can get everything possible working and slice out the worthless stuff we can greatly expand our capabilities. As for maintenance droids, I could probably look around for some good ones, maybe talk to a few friends of mine back in the core, maybe they'd ship me one of the high-quality droids I used to use for wholesale price."
He looked up to see the cook approaching, smiling and nodding in thanks as his food was set before him. Instantly he dug in. After a moment of eating he looked up at his employer. "Come to think of it, I could probably tell my friends about this place too. You know, spread the word around." Suddenly he remembered the circumstances of his leaving the coreward regions, and of what his reputation must be like back home. His spreading the word about the shop might hurt it more than help. "Or not, whatever." He looked back down at his food, throwing a quick glance at Ribber. She really was pretty...
Turning his attention back to his food, he quickly began the task of eating once more. It was really good, and it wouldn't do to sit around and let it get cold...

Fixer took swallowed a large bite of Nerf Burger and licked the nibbles out from his teeth. He almost chewed more on his thoughts than his food. He knew he wasnt one to beat around the bush, but not one to ask when his nose was not invited. He didn't want to ruin the kids apetite.
"So what happenned?" The words seemed to slip out of his mouth faster than he could stifle them. "You seem like a competent sort. Why aren't you working for Merson, or maybe one of the core worlds industrial complex?" Fixer took another bite of his burger. Ribber looked up from her stir fry and dabbed at her cheeks. Her gaze travelled from Fixer to Raph'e wearing a face of utmost curiosity.
"I mean, if you don't want to talk about it I understand. I have a past myself ya know." Fixer said to his burger, of course the words were meant for Raph'e.
In the silence at the booth, Ribber stuffed a piece of marinated Lantern Bird into her mouth.

He cocked an eyebrow at Fixer's strange question. It was a weird thing to ask, especially knowing only what Raph'e had told him. Or perhaps he had done a background check? He had hoped that Ord Mantell would be seedy enough that that wouldn't have to be done.
He shrugged. Might as well come out with it now. "I was a Chief Engineer a the Commenor StarDock and Trade Center. Youngest in company history. I was good, damned good..." He stared at his drink for a moment, lost in thought.
Finally, he spoke up again. "I had originally signed on as a mechanic, but my competence in other fields and experience as an Engineer on Nubia assured that I was promoted quick. I ran an entire dock. I made sure the place was perfect, and that our handiwork was tenfold of what was expected. It was beautiful. We were known as the best shop outside the Corellian Sector. The richest and finest would only allow us to touch their beauties. It was good work."
He paused, taking a bite of his food, taking time to choose his next words carefully. "One day we got a real big fish, a high-end merchant. Biggest customer we ever got. His ship's power core had malfunctioned. The feed to the hyperdrive motivator had been fried in a tough jump. He came straight to us. It was the biggest job in my life."
He shook his head. "It seemed pretty routine; just rebuild the connection. I did just that. I checked everything over a million times, it looked totally fine. I don't even know how it happened, they all board the ship, they power it up, and it just explodes. The connection must have closed up again, and they probably ran full power to the hyperdrive to check how the repairs had worked. It might have overloaded the core, but that doesn't seem right, that ship was made to take combat stress. A suppressant may have went off-line, but I don't know..."
He looked up, catching Fixer's eyes. "They fired me. The merchant's family sued me for compensation. I lost my home, my possessions... And I could never get a job inside the Inner Rim again. All I had was enough credits for a ticket here to Ord Mantell. So here I am. Not a day goes by that I don't feel horrible for what I did, that I don't run through the repairs again in my mind. It was my responsibility... I'm responsibile for the deaths of a dozen people." He looked down, his voice starting to crack a little.
"It's... it's just a tough thing to handle, that's all..."

As Raph'e related his sad tale Ribber put her arm around him and patted his back comfortingly.
Fixer watcher Ribber's friendly gesture with a keen eye. He swallowed the food in his mouth, and spoke up. "Ribbers right Raph'e. It wasnt your fault. Big families, always have enemies. If you did it all right, more than likely someones palm got greased and things worked out to look like an accident. Regardless of whats happenned to you in the past, you know your stuff. Ribber and I both think your an asset to the Odyssey. If anyone comes looking for you, We'll just call you "Walker" or "App". " Fixers eyes flicked to Ribber who smiled. "Watcha think Ribber? Walker or App?"
Ribber grimaced at the first name, but smiled at the second.
"App it is then. Well, App, I think your a great addition to this little rag tag family." After a moment of shared smiles. Fixer cleared his throat. "Well, heh, Lets finish our meal and tell some story." Fixer took a sip of his beer and smiled.
"Well, back in oh.. 01 or so, I met ribber here...." Fixer addled on For the rest of the evening in between bites of Nerf. They shared stories, and jokes. The three becoming fast friends.

The ship landed. The doors opened with another loud hiss. He looked at the restaurant, a confused look on his face. This is it? He walked into the building. There weren't many people there. He had done a search for all the restaurants on the local planets in his databank at home. He walked to an empty seat at the counter and sat down. The strap to his pack almost slid off his shoulder. He grabbed it, and pulled it back up on his shoulder.
He looked to see if anyone was there. Maybe performing here isn't a good idea after all.... He sighed. He got up, and started to wander the restaurant. He only wandered the parts that had no one in it. He sat back down and asked the waiter for a glass of water. The waiter handed him a glass (a glass glass) with a thin, clear liquid swishing around in it.
He took a drink of his water. He wiped his mouth with his sleeve and set the drink down. He sighed again. He started to change his mind about performing here- after all, a 17 year-old playing a mandoviol in front of a bunch of old people (in his own opinion) who were complete strangers to him started to sound like a bad idea.

((Moved from The Lost Odyssey)) Jorek sat down with the Raph'e and Ribber at a small booth near the corner. Jorek had never been here in all his time spent on Ord Mantell. It was your average diner with all things you'd find in a small slice of suburbia. You had your waitstaff, your cook, etc. When the waitress came by he ordered the Chili Dumplings and a cup of Caf, all the while avoiding eye contact with her. He never liked diners, it sort of came with the 'cyborg' routine; usually one or two seasoned spacers could just tell by the way a person stepped through the door. The Savvy Savrip was no different. He was used to it and just blocked these knowledgeable glances out, they usually meant no harm. Eating for Jorek was a bit of a chore, something he did usually while he was on the job. A diner made him go out of his way to do something he could do himself in the quiet comfort of his work. He leaned back as much as he could and looked past his coworkers, thinking about nothing in particular. Mostly about his droids, having words melt out of darkness in the back of his mind.

Raph'e sat down in the booth next to Ribber, and settled himself in. When the waiter came around he ordered nerf burgers, mounder rice, and fizz drinks for the two of them. They shared a few emotions while they waited, having a lover's jest. He smiled and almost laughed at times, before he realized how strange it must look to Jorek.
He cleared his throat. "So Jorek, how have you been lately? I hardly see you out of your room or the maintenance area anymore. What's new in your life these days man?"

It was awkward. Jorek sat, and every time he glanced at the two of them immediately averted his eyes, stifling the spite. He eyed them a little contemptuously when Raph'e asked him the question. Was he poking fun at him? Was he trying to get Jorek to be jealous? If he was it wasn't going to work. "Oh, this and that. Mostly work. The droids always seem to have something wrong with them. When I have time off I try and pick up various projects of mine from when I was with the old bunch of slicers. My whole life is basically in my room. In my droids and datapads." He said calmly, not making eye contact after the brief glance of hate. The moment had passed and now studied his food. He continued, "I guess I sort of have everything met so I don't go out of my little patch. If I want to talk I always have my implant." Jorek finished and continued eating occasionally taking a drink of his Caf.

Their food was delivered, and Raph'e hungrily dug in. The burger was greasy, saucy, and delicious. The Rice was great, too. He listened as Jorek spoke, totally missing the spiteful glares. He nodded around a mouthful of rice. He waited to swallow, and take a drink of fizz, before responding.
"That's cool man. Do you get news much or anything like that? I have been able to keep up on things as much as I'd like. What's new in the Holonet and the Galaxy?"

Jorek disposed of his 'jealousy' suspicions. It seems Raph'e didn't really have anything to gain from that but Jorek was still a little wary and found his new topic and concern a little inauthentic but decided to humor it and go along. Joreks suspicions made him curious. "Oh, this and that. The Republic isn't willing to take action against the Sith. With them unchecked hysteria is popping up across the galaxy. Dantooine is in chaos. There are rumors about which planet will fall next." Jorek paused to take another drink of Caf then continued, "Politics aren't exactly what I know best. It all makes for interesting reading though, the conspiracies." Maybe Raph'e was genuinely interested? Jorek gave a slight chuckle about his constant prejudice and paranoia. He was more human than he gave himself credit. That made him uneasy. Maybe he should get another enhancement? An eye, he thought, would be pretty useful. One with magnification functions.
"Like I said, my life is mostly droids and datapads. I must be boring you senseless. What are you looking forward to, or have heard about? What is up with you?" Jorek said, trying his best to be personable.

Raph'e nodded. Damned corrupt Senators. They were willing to sit by and argue while the Sith took over the Galaxy one planet at a time. Raph'e wondered how long it would be until they reached Ord Mantell, and he and his reservist pilots would be called up to the planet's defense.
He was slightly surprised when Jorek decided to partake in the small talk, actually asking him a question. He felt Ribber echoing the feeling. The cyborg didn't do that a lot.
"Well, not a whole lot, really. Just working on the shop and the jobs we have around there. In the evening I practice and perform for the air show, and the weekends are spent training with my unit. It's a pretty full schedule, but I like the work. Gives me the feeling that I'm actually doing something good. Although it has been pretty boring lately, especially since Fixer left. Feels like I'm in a little bit of a rut, it'd be nice for something new to pop up."
He took another bite of his burger. "I'm not complaining though, life is just fine. I'd rather have this than a lot of other things, I can tell you that. So how'd things go with the starfighters and that droid? Everything lookin' good eh?"

"Yeah, that droid should be fine. Little grit and grizzle. Gave it a memory wipe, too. The Starfighters were a little odd though. Why did the Republic come to us to do standard work, especially on a bug like that? I think something is up." Jorek mentioned, "I know that kind attention is good for The Odyssey's reputation but I doesn't make sense that their own technicians couldn't fine an easy little glitch like that and that they'd outsource the solution." He finished and grabbed his Caf, but it was empty and set it back down. It was something that really stoked his paranoia. What if the Republic was finally catching up to him? It has been almost too long. Jorek figured they'd have given up by now, but he had heard stories of others getting away for longer until they eventually got caught. If he got caught that meant he wouldn't be able to get that eye, and he wasn't sure what they'd pin him with so who knows how long he'd be locked up?
"I don't like it. It is possible they're using it as a cover or motive to keep tabs on me. They could be tracking me down and trying to pin me for my involvements with my not-so-legitimate mentors."

Raph'e shrugged. "You see, Military technicians aren't the end-all be-all when it ccomes to military hardware. You see, when the military wants a new starfighter something like a new starfighter, they announce what they're generally looking for, and private companies create designs. The military will choose a design based on it's capabilities and price, and that company gets the go ahead to meet the Military's order. It works the same way with repairing damaged hardware. Companies, including the Republic's technicians, will bid on the project. The lowest bid gets the job. We bid the lowest on the starfighter job, so we got it."
He finished his meal while Jorek spoke, nodding in acknowledgment to his words. "It's possible, did you do anything to piss the military off? I don't see the police convincing them to lend a criminal a squadron of Aureks. What'd you do that would be so bad to warrant that kind of attention?"
He downed the last of his beverage, setting the empty glass down and pushing away his plate. "At any rate, it seems we should go over these starfighters one more time, with a fine tooth comb, just to see what's up."

Jorek returned his shrugs, "Don't bother that was the only thing wrong with them. That is why I was so suspicious that they might finally be catching up to me. I said before I don't exactly carry a degree in droid engineering or any credentials of any kind other than my on the job experience, but even that is questionable because all the people who could be referenced are either dead or in jail and questionably legitimate." Jorek explained, leaning forward slightly to rest his elbows on the table. "I have skimmed credits out of bank accounts, hijacked spaceships, and maybe even listened in on a few things I shouldn't have. It was all a long time ago back when I didn't know what I was getting into." He shifted around uncomfortably in his seat and listened to the soft murmur of the other restaurant patrons as he thought back to his time spent with the old gang. They made quite a bit of money, most of it spent on cheap thrills and what was left is confiscated. Sometimes he thought it would have been better off if Jorek went to prison with the rest of them. "And that is where The Odyssey comes in I guess. My means of becoming anonymous and legal at the same time. We all start somewhere." He finished, letting out a deep sigh.

He nodded. "I feel you there, bro." Everyone had to start somewhere. The Odyssey had been his new start, too. It seemed they had all been running from dark pasts to the old mechanic shop...
He looked up. "So, what do you think we should do about that problem then? We can't just leave it... If it's a legitimate problem, I don't want the Republic Military to realize we ignored it and then nail our asses. That can loosely be considered treason, you know. I don't want to risk The Odyssey. We gotta think of something..."

"The Savvy Savrip, an odd name for a restaurant" Rhyley thought to himself. Unlike most officers Rhyley prefered average diners as apoosed to 5 star restaraunts, it reminded him of his parents and when he was younger. He walked up to the what he assumed would be the bar. "Corellian ale please comrade..hmm... a nerf burger too if you would be so kind" He proceeded to slide some credits over the barand walked to a table next to the what he pressumed to be mechanics. He didn't have to wait long for his meal.
As he munched on hisfood he would pause every so often and look at the mechanics. Half way through his burger he leaned over to them. "i'm in need of a decent mechanic or two.. my technicians are far too busy repairing my ship and i have a dozen Aurek fighters that are in bad shape... but where are my manners... I am Admrial Rhyley Stargazer" He reached out his hand in a motion to shake their hands.

Raph'e turned towards the sound of a new voice addressing them. His mouth promptly dropped open when he heard the man's title. "Pleasure to meet you sir. I'm Raph'e Culdirido, Chief Engineer of The Lost Odyssey and Ensign in the Ord Mantell Starfighter Defense Force. This fine lady beside me is my beautiful fiance, Ribber, and this man here is our Computer/Droid/Electronics specialist, Jorek."
He searched for words, trying to make the moment as least awkward as possible. "We would love to help you out any way we can. We appreciate any business we can get. We're a good place; we get the job done well at a fair price."
