Uh-oh

So, apparently, my computer decided that even though it will work in the morning, once I return from college it will no longer run properly. There's something up with it, I think the hard drive may have died, which means buying a new one.

However, those are just the pre-autopsy thoughts, I'll be taking a look at it today if I have the chance, and if I don't have the chance then it'll be at some point during the next few days, and then I have to actually go out and replace it, which my wallet is not looking forward to.

This will cause a number of long term problems if it is the hard drive, luckily a lot of the stuff I'd been working on/storing had recently been posted up, Sith Temple etc. But there are things that I'll have to rework on, such as the Galaxy Map, I believe I have a version without the territories, otherwise I'll have to start from the beginning, which I don't look forward to.

Right now though it means this; I will not be able to get on nearly anywhere near as much as I currently do. At the moment I'm using the 'family' computer, however it's not very private, nor is it often available. So yes, I have PMs I need to deal with, so I'm asking you all to now please be patient, I will be getting to you at some point, I just wont be around as much to do so.

It's a conspiracy. And I used to think it was simply National, but now I'm thinking its a worldwide conspiracy. Some scary chinese dude sitting in a basement in Canada somewhere, sneaking worms into all the computers and going, 'hehe, I keel cho all! through your computers!'

Which is more frightening than funny. I shudder.

At least hard drives are replaceable. Er, well, usually. When my laptop died, it was the motherboard that fried.

... that rhymed. Huh. Maybe I should write a song of mourning for dead computers everywhere... and embed within it a virus, so that I can take over the woooooooooooooorld!!!!!!

*hem* Maybe I shouldn't stay up this late... I think I might be getting hyper....

Hard drives can be recovered with the right tools, or at least the data on them. You'd still need to put the data on another drive, though.

I'm pretty sure you can send it in and have them recover your HD crap. Then just buy a new PC devoid of one and have it integrated.
