Sétanta & Gae Bulg
Zone: Outer Rim (Mapped by Locals, not on any Republic or Sith Empire Documents.)
Sétanta Specs: Sétanta is a planet which is verdant, vibrant and deep greens and blues cover it's landscape, grey's of all tints in others. It is a planet where there is at least 60% water coverage, and where there are no continents. Some subcontinent sized islands exist, but much of the planet's land is isolated either through water, or hills and mountains. Fertile farmlands, forests, and wide prairies exist upon the planet, though the prairies are never truly sizable.
Gae Bulg Specs: Like the planet which it is in orbit around, Gae Bulg is a moon which is verdant, vibrant and covered with deep greens and blue, which cover it's landscape. Grey's and golds from mountains and the often therein lightning storms are other things which exist upon it. The moon has only 50% water coverage, but there are no continents upon it. One subcontinent sized island exist, but all other islands are no where near it's size.
Government: In the few cities which exist, you may find either a monarchical kingship, or a democracy, depending on the city. Outside of these cities, which are the main spaceports for the planet and it's moon, there are feudal clans which offer protection to their own members and even non-related tenants whom are upon the lands they claim.
Political & Geographic Regions:
Aodha & Aodhara
One of the few cities which is controlled by a clan which also controls rural farmland around it, Aodha is the capital of Aodhara, a minor 'kingdom' which is upon a group of islands in the northwest of the planet's hemisphere. Of all the petty states in Sétanta, Aodha is the most likely to cater to Republican traffic, and deal with republic ships.
Camrelon
An subcontinent island surrounded by an archipelago near the center of Gae Bulg's Ocean, Camrelon is the place which has the most professional spaceport in the whole of Sétanta and Gae Bulg, but which also has the worse crime. Despite the hard work of it's knights and peace-keepers, this monarchical region can never seem to stamp out the seedy and sometimes evil activities which occur in the mists at the edge. It's capital covers half the main island, and bears the same name as the country. Of all the regions in the two, Camrelon would be most likely to allow activity from any of the groups currently at war.
Tyra
In the far north, very near the northern pole of Sétanta, lays Tyra. A nation which is many nations, tied together by a common history, close genetics, and a perchance for raiding others. If smugglers, Sith, slavers, or any other scum or villainy were to find themselves a hiding place in Sétanta, it would be here, where there is little law, but there is a city with a spaceport, which is neutral ground for all.
Ulai
The largest city in the northeast of Sétanta, Ulai is a city without a lord, democratically ran, by an elected council and a mayor, and with the most professional spaceport in Sétanta. It deals with a lot of herd-animal processing and export.
(Other, minor, kingdoms exist on both Gae Bulg and Sétanta, as do places where there are democratically ran towns and vast stretches of wilderness with only wild, feral men settled in the area.)
Ruins of Avalon
Avalon was once the greatest city upon Gae Bulg, and perhaps on Gae Bulg or Sétanta, long ago. But some flux in the energies of the universe, or perhaps the force of will of a single being there, warped the city. Much of it's population disappeared, and many who didn't disappear, were warped, evil, fearsome and beyond the normal scope of man.
It is now a ghost town, few are brave enough to enter it, and fewer still leave from the things which haunt it even now. If it was not for this, there could be considerable money made from salvaging in the area, and there were once beautiful crystals mined nearby. It is located roughly 3 degrees in latitude from Gae Bulg's north pole.
Wilderness
Temperate Forests
They cover much of the planet, if you're not in farmland, or prairie and you're on land.
Prairie
The second most common topographical feature on the planet Sétanta and it's moon, Gae Bulg, Prairies extend through much of the islands where there are few mountains, and are often with a shepherd and a flock of herd animals at least once every half-dozen kilometers.
Ocean
The Oceans can range from mild and enjoyable to swim in, to absolute man-eaters of storms which could even sink spacecraft flying through them.
History:
It was too long ago to remember, but the beginning of Setanta and Gae Bulg came on upon it's moon, Gae Bulg. Colonists, -from truly too far ago to remember the location or the time they had come-, built a great civilization upon Gae Bulg, in the land of City of Avalon and the islands around it.
The Kingdom of Avalon, flourished, great knowledge and great understanding flowing from it, as science and religion both grew like a sproutling under much fertilizer, Avalon's enlightenment soon growing to the point even the 'savage tribes' that had long since rejected Avalon's way of life (on both Gae Bulg and Setanta), began to embrace some of it.
A golden age of over three hundred years occurred, where all on Gae Bulg and Setanta were happy, the tribes and their kingdoms trading with each other and with the High King in Avalon, and the worlds were at peace.
Until the Mist of Cataclysm began to enshroud Avalon, and it was devoured by the huge amount of energy from the lay lines (force) which were around the area. A simple dispute grew into a war in the matter of days, and the Capital of the duo was soon engulfed in Mayhem, scientific experiments escaped and much havoc was wrecked on the Kingdom and it's city.
With the High Kingdom no longer in control to make sure that the planet & moon and their kingdoms traded with outsiders, and to make sure they traded with each other and stood at peace during disputes, the world marched into savagery once again, a warrior culture developing from it all. Without warriors at all times, who would defend the various Kingdom's farms and herds, then there would be no way to be truly safe and civilized.
The warriors were often the men of the King, whom had been his personal army before, and while striking back against your enemy, most warriors were taught it was more important to defend their lands.
Because of the way Avalon fell, within half a century it was referred to 'haunted by monsters and sidhe', and it was forbidden by nearly all to travel there. Most family's stopped traveling with outsiders, as well, trust began to come towards the things you could see with your own two eyes, or hear with your own two ears, or feel with your own being. Outsiders were too hard to read in their actions for every family to be secure in feeling about them, especially as taking slaves of other tribes and clans became more and more common, and off-worlders began to raid the planet because of it's people's desirable features and high midoclorian count.
And so things continued, the people fiercely independent of the other kingdoms, and of out of system people whom came to to their world, at least twice having fought against the republic, and once against the Sith empire, though these are in days long past. There are even unconfirmed rumors of having fought against 'Worm Beast men', implying the Hutts may have tried to take the planet at one time.
There have been too many generations, -and battles- to count in the times since the fall of Avalon, and the relative isolation which the people of Setanta and Gae Bulg live in has given them both reason to learn some things about other races, and not learn things about others. Very few Setantans and Gae Bulga are skilled in hyperspace flight, though interplanet/intermoon travel is known by nearly half the males on the planet, to some degree. (For trade purposes.)
