The endless wait

[Fellheart]

Fellheart walked around the temple as he always did after a duell or training session, but this time he was in a bad mood.

"Another day without a master, another day with the same training"

How could this be? He walked down the stairs to the temple entrance and viewed the sunset over the part of the city that he could see. "A city whit 1 trillion inhabitants." He spoke out loudly. But not a single one of them that could be hes master. He started to walk up the stairs thinking he would head up to hes room and meditate, but came up with the thought that this was a pretty good place to practice the use of the force.

He gathered hes thoughts and concentrated about jumping...Then he did it. He jumped 10 steps upwards. He tried again and jumped 15 steps. He got exited and jumped again. This time he managed to jump 18 steps, but he lost hes balance and fell, he rolled all the way down to the bottom of the stair.

He got up and felt his head. A small lump was growing fast. "This is going to give me a headache" He said to himself while he noticed a few younglings laughing as they walked by.

"If only they would come over here! I would show them!" He thought to himself. It was almost as he wished that they would. A little fight, at least that would be exiting. But they just walked past him.

When they reached the top of the stairs Fellheart sat down thinking "I must be weak, the weakest youngling of them all, a complete screw up! The worst youngling ever..."

Tekyr moved through the Jedi Halls undisturbed his long-legged stride took him outside and to the front of the temple. He would stop there only to observe a youth leaping the steps, the emotion flowing from the boy was vibrant. From one contrast to another.

Frowning the Knight stopped to watch as the Jedi Hopeful collided with the temple grounds. Almost managing a chuckle from seeing the whole incident. Bad humor on his own part but it drew him out of his own distracted introspection.

" Pace yourself young warrior. " The man said to Fellheart in caution. " Took a nice knock. "

Having heard the end of his words the Jedi clicked his tongue moving closer crouching down at the top of the stairs almost looking like some predatory animal as he slung an arm over his knee. Not at all your traditional Jedi with his wild look and spacers outlandish clothing. " Show them what? " Intruding on the boy's self council.

The Kiffar pushed himself up walking towards Fellheart, offering him a slight bow." Greetings, you seem in need of a break and I am in need of some food. Care to join me before I leave Coruscant? "

Fellheart bowed back and felt his head again, the lump was even bigger. He looked back up on the Jedi.

"sure master, that sounds great"

He touched the lump again, the swelling had stopped.

"Where are we going?"

" That I had assumed you would know a good place. You are after all a local, I can't say I know my way around beyond the Temple. I'm sure though a cantina cannot be too far off. "

" So by all means lead the way. Tekyr Mevek is the name, bout yourself?"

[Fellheart]

"My name is Fellheart"

He smiled and pointed at a building only a 5 minutes walk away.

"And that place over there got some pretty good food"

[OOC: Skipped ahead the five minutes to the diner can just figure they walked in silence the rest of that way]

Luckily Hutt truguts seemed to work with the diner runner near as well as Republic dataries. Not realizing Jedi ate free here when recognized as such; he sat down as the droid set food ordered by himself down. Letting Fellheart fend for himself.

" So I take you have yet to find yourself a Master? " He prodded at the squirming critter in his plate, half alive from being cooked before setting it aside, having not realized that part of his menu included living creatures as an edible side-dish.

The rest was fine enough to devour which around eating he questioned the youngling further. " How old are you? Earlier you said you'd show them... what did you mean exactly? " Testing words as he searched. He of course before all of this gave the younger of the two Jedi time to gather his own meal if he was eating as well.

Fellheart got the food he had ordered, and answered the questions master Tekyr asked.

"Yes, I have yet to find a master, or a master has yet to pick me as their padawan learner"

He ate a bit of the food an continued.

"I have been here since I was 4 years old, in one month I will be 8 years old" He paused for a second, thinking... "And the thing I said to my self about showing them, well not to brag master, but I could have taken on all tree of them, they where 10 years old, still learning basic dueling, while the remotes I train with are programmed for advanced."

Then he smiled and said "By the way, those things moving around on that little side-dish, they are actually meant for Dugs, you would probably throw up eating those."

" It is perhaps good I did not eat that then. " He said with a slight grimace prodding the bowl once more before glancing up at Fellheart.

" Only 7? you're very bright for your age and serious, I'm impressed. Despite that you still have a long way to go. Most will not even consider you to be their learner until much later. I wasn't picked until I was around 13. Who knows though I'm sure exceptions can be made for even one as young as you are " Contemplating his next words thoughtfully; a smile held on his lips after wiping them.

" There is more to being a Jedi than just being excellent with a saber Fellheart. What does the Code say about self-discipline? " He took another mouthfull of food chewing before he spoke again the utensil waving about in the air before him as he talked.

"Whether you could beat those boys or not truly doesn't really matter. It sounds like you are pretty good with a lightsaber, but you got a bit more to learn what our Order is about. If it were about dueling skills, mastery of lightsaber forms or competence in battle... the Jedi would not be what they are today."

" I'm not preaching to you. Don't take it as that, just trying to help you. The path you're on sounds destructive... that could just me assuming though. I try to stay away from doing that. Honestly... I would question the Master who took you on as his Padawan based purely off of your fighting talents alone. Ours is the way of the Force , peace and understanding. "

[Fellheart]

"I am not taking it as preaching, what you are saying now may be useful for me in the future, I can learn from it"

Fellheart thought for a second then he said:

"There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no death; there is the Force.

Jedi are the guardians of the galaxy.
Jedi use their powers to defend and protect, never to attack others.
Jedi respect all life in any form.
Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them for the good of the galaxy.
Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.

Those are the jedi codes"


He smiled a bit and asked master Tekyr a question "You said exceptions can be made?"

"And you also said you where leaving, where are you going?"

Nodded, " A part of it yes. Good ,however, word for word, now all that is needed is the journey of study involved. Though you over-looked the self-discipline aspect. Conquer over-confidence is what I was hinting at." Frowning as he finished the last of bites off of his plate he stood.

That is a good question, one I'll find out once I get back to my ship. Your training clan does not have any duties for you currently? " He asked in return.

" Exceptions. Yes, rare but I'm sure such is possible. "

Fellheart had hardly eaten anything, he had been to busy listening to what master Tekyr was saying

"My training clan?" He laughed a bit

"We haven't had any duties for ages, they just tell us to train and study on our own"

" Ah, training clan. Yeah... never mind. I'm not sure how things here on Coruscant operate. Sounds a bit absurd though they expect you to learn and train on your own. "

Tekyr shrugged lightly, if what the Jedi hopeful had said was true it was mildly disturbing but not his place to question.

" Well, perhaps one day we'll meet again Fellheart. I must go though, I hope a Master finds you in good time and may the Force be with you. "

He did a bow towards the younger man straightening up to turn and leave the diner to beat a hasty retreat back to his ship Deathkiss and be gone from the Republic's homeworld.
