Name:
Talia Rivas
Race:
Human (Mandalorian)
Age:
25
Height:
5'5''
Weight:
125 Pounds
Appearance:
Hair:
She keeps her wavy dark brown hair quite long as it hangs to her lower back when it is actually worn down. This isn't really a matter of family tradition or emotional attachment but rather a lack of caring. Talia finds she hardly has time to get it cut and since she is used to it already it seems pointless to get rid of it. The length doesn't quite matter though, as she generally wears it up in various styles and out of the way. The most common style she wears is a bun because this fits best with her helmet.
Eyes:
Her eyes are an odd shade of blue that is often referred to as 'aqua'. They are the same as her father's were and tend to stand out especially against her dark hair. When she was younger, she did not like this fact as it drew extra unwanted attention. Present day, she really doesn't care about what others seem to think of her eyes or the rest of her appearance for that matter.
Build:
She tends to try and keep as fit as possible and her figure shows this fact clearly. Her muscles are decently toned but not over the top as she wants to maintain a feminine figure and is not fond of bulky muscle for her personal appearance. Her chest is...well developed...yet in proportion to the rest of her body. While some people seem to notice the fact, she hardly cares as long as they continue to fit in her armor without problem.
Scars and Tattoos:
She received a scar across her back at the age of 13 when she was in a fight to the death with a strill while in her trial to adulthood. She also has a sleeve tattoo over her right shoulder that she had done when she was 18 (because I like the one Revy has in those pics <_<).

Childhood
Talia was mostly raised like the typical Mandalorian child. From the time of her birth until she was three years of age, her mother raised her in the home where she was taught to read and speak both Basic and Mando'a, excelling noticeably in both. She was treasured by her parents and they both expected great things for her in the future.
At the age of three, she was passed from her mother's nurturing side to her father's much more harsh care. At first, she was quite distraught to be separated from the strong and kind woman that had been the only security she had known, but she quickly got into the rhythm of the arduous pace her father set for her. With everything going smoothly as a natural at her survival training, it came as a shock when her beloved mother died from the sudden onset of an incurable illness when she was only five. As she grieved, her father forced her to train even harder explaining that her mother would have wanted her to become stronger rather than just wallowing in sorrow and letting herself waste away.
As she concentrated on the tough road to adulthood ahead of her, she was trained in various skills her father deemed necessary for her well being and success in combat. First and foremost, he concentrated on her endurance and core muscle training which would help her with her agility, speed and balance. As a marksman, he also focused on her skills with blaster pistols. Rather than range, he concentrated on improving her accuracy and celerity with two pistols so that she could do more damage to a mid-range combatant in a faster amount of time. He also trained her in melee skills with daggers for any close combat she might encounter. It was discovered early on that she was quite ambidextrous, which allowed her to double wield no matter what weapon she chose to use.
At the age of nine, Talia's training was going smoothly and she was finally blossoming into the tough and strong willed warrior her father wanted her to become. One day, a pirate fleet was spotted too close to Mandalore for comfort. Her father was selected among a squad of his peers to go and remove the threat. He chose this chance to give Talia her first real combat experience. After the initial assault, her unit boarded the main vessel of the enemy fleet and engaged in close quarters combat. While she would have preferred to use blasters, the situation didn't quite call for it and she ended up efficiently taking out three lower class members of the crew with her daggers.
Everything was going smoothly until the last phase of the battle to take out the Captain of the pirate fleet began. Her father was at the forefront of the assault and fought bravely against the Captain until he was shot through the chest three times by another member of the enemy crew. Talia witnessed on that day not only the first death of a comrade but her father. As the others rushed in to kill the Captain, she chased down the murderer of her father and with the honed shooting skills he had passed down to her, she took out her target of hatred and avenged the death of her last pillar of support.
After returning home an orphan and still in need of guidance on her path to adulthood, the best friend of her father adopted her as his own child. He was a loner by nature, never having been married himself, but he was a kind soul and fierce warrior. She spent the last four years of her coming into adulthood being raised by this man.
On her thirteenth birthday, he took her out to a desolate area saying that it was simply more survival training. This was a lie though, as she felt the butt end of a pistol collide with the back of her skull with a sickening thud. She fell to the ground unconscious and when she awoke, she was alone in the wilderness. This was the beginning of her trial into adulthood. She had to find her way back home on her own while surviving the dangerous tundra. The worst of her journey was a fight to the death with a vicious Strill. She had to use her her intellect speed and weapon skills to best the beast and come out victorious even though she was injured in the process. It took many days and much strife, but she managed to make it home to her guardian safely.
Early Adulthood to Present
For the next few years, Talia trained vigorously on her own and with her guardian until she was deemed fit to enter the Army at the age of sixteen. This was when she entered boot camp and came out as one of the top warriors in her class. The more praise she received, she formed a healthy ego but still never became too full of herself. Even though she was told how she excelled above many others, she still strove to be the greatest at all she did.
One of her more dangerous early missions was when she was put in charge of a small team sent to wipe out a similar sized group of rebels hiding out on a nearby planet. When the group arrived, they were surprised to find the enemy forces were nearly triple their own. Under Talia's leadership and talent in battle, they were able to wipe out the opposing units though there were a few losses and it was not considered to be her greatest victory. It did however prove her worthy within the military and she was quickly promoted to officer class.
Early on, her experience consisted of being sent on small missions where they could judge her capabilities in working with small and large teams as well as if she was better suited for more stealth assassination missions. It was discovered that she was much more suited for the latter, even though she was found to be quite good at leading a team. Due to the nature of being an only child and growing up fairly isolated, her team work was sorely lacking and she didn't quite see the point of working on it either.
At the age of twenty, she was selected for Special Ops and hopped a transport to Concord Dawn where headquarters was located. She continued to work hard and complete her missions with efficiency and accuracy as she worked her way up the rankings. She did this as her missions began to roll it, generally based on her reconnaissance and assassination work.
For about a year, she was sent on a reconnaissance mission to Nar Shadaa where she was to by any means retrieve as much information as possible from one of the more notorious Hutts. She posed incognito as a slave girl, disliking the foul creature immensely, but for her people she would do anything. When enough intel had been gathered and the order to assassinate the Hutt finally arrived, she couldn’t be more relieved and gladly did so one night while he was sleeping.
After this, she returned to Concord Dawn, where they debriefed Talia and allowed her to recuperate for a short while before sending her on anymore missions. Her next notable mission was after a few less important ones not as worthy of mentioning. She was sent to the neutral planet of Obroa-Skai for a simple recon mission and was there for quite some time with no problems. Unfortunately for her, The Republic received false intel that a small Mandalorian force was building on the planet and came to check it out on their own with a team of elite soldiers. For awhile she managed to evade them, until she was given the order to dispose of them all. Acting quickly, she coldly used the skills passed down to her to eliminate the enemy threat with no mercy. Once more she returned to Concord Dawn and has only had some semi-noteworthy missions since.
Presently, Talia still maintains the same work ethic as a 1st Lieutenant and continues to strive to be the best above all else. She works hard to not only prove herself worthy, but to protect her people so that no one would have to go through a childhood similar to her own.
RP Sample:
"Talia...Stay close to the group and only engage in battle when necessary. You should rely on your daggers rather than blasters for this mission. I know you can do this."
The wide-eyed nine year old stared up at her father and nodded her head at his words, clutching a vicious looking dagger tightly in each of her small hands. She had been working endlessly towards this moment the entirety of her short life. While her stomach twisted into knots she had never even fathomed possible, mentally she knew she was prepared and would not let her nerves get the best of her.
Closing her eyes for a moment, Talia breathed deeply as she tried to gain her concentration. This was what she had been waiting for and there was no place to be scared. They had to save their people and protect the values they held most dear. Gulping audibly, she mentally chastised herself as she heard a low grunt come from nearby.
"Are you sure she's ready? She is practically shaking with fear. A little too soon for this one I think. My son would be able to do this no problem at his age."
She could hear her father growl at the other man's comments, clearly not happy with his assessment.
"I recall your son wetting himself at the mere thought of entering a battle at her age. How old is he now? Fifteen or sixteen I recall you saying...It hardly matters. My nine year old could wipe the floor with him any day."
She heard the laughter of the others in the cabin, but that was hardly what she was focused on. Talia had never heard such pride in her father's voice before. It was unexpected but quite welcome. While she was worried about this conflict, knowing that her father believed in her was all that she needed. She would prove herself worthy of this mission and his faith in her.
"It's time. The assault team is to move out. Let's go."
Everyone stood in one fluid motion, Talia included. She was by far the smallest in the group yet her heart remained one of the most devoted to the cause. As her first mission began in a flurry of commotion, she no longer felt frightened of the danger ahead. The only feeling she carried was to prove herself and back the pride her father had placed in her.
