Alrond is not your typical Mandalorian, due to the traits he had inherited from his Arhan biological mother, Iella Ozuar. He has a short and skinny frame with a fragile physique. While many would consider him sickly thin by human standards, for an Arhan he is rather average in size. Alrond's muscle mass is very small meaning his physical strength is very low. His skin tone is a light tan, which he had inherited from his human father.
The nickname that he obtained while in the Mandalorian militia "Babyface," is rather an accurate description of his appearance. He looks a few years younger than he actually is, and without his armor it may be possible for him to be mistaken for his mid-teenage years. His skin is smooth and has no calluses as when it was quickly realized that he had no physical capabilities his teachings focused on what he could do. Alrond has short black hair and no facial hair, though not from the lack of trying. His eyes are a light baby blue and his facial features are rather small.
Alrond's Neo-Crusader style armor once belonged to his Ba'buir on the adoptive maternal side of his family, though it has been modified for his much smaller frame a physical capabilities. There is a clear patch on the front of the armor that indicates that he is a combat medic. When in most casual situations he does not wear the armor, preferring normal clothing. Most of his clothing is simple which includes leather pants, white shirt, and reliable boots. Alrond always carries his MSPS-12 slugthrower pistols in their holsters no matter what situation he is in because he is rather defenseless without a firearm.

Bio: Alrond was not born a Mandalorian, but instead came into being on the smuggler's planet of Farrfin to an Arhan cantina dancer named Iella Ozuar and a human thug named Fidavar Liagri. Iella had been sold into slavery on the smuggler's planet during her teenage years. But, a smuggler bought her freedom so they he could marry her, due to her beauty, while still a teenager. But, eventually the smuggler was captured and imprisoned, so Iella was left on her own. She took the only job she could as a dancer in the nearest cantina, while she lived in a small apartment in the slums.
Fidavar was a local thug who frequently visited the cantina in which Iella worked. He loved to watch the woman dance while he had his drinks. Now, Iella noticed that the same man came to watch her every night, so she struck up conversation with him when she could get the chance. She didn't really like the guy, but having someone else in her life could give her stability. So, Fidavar moved into the apartment with Iella. Soon afterward, Iella gave birth to a boy she named Alrond.
Once again Iella went through tragedy with the men in her life when Fidavar disappeared. She did not know what happened to him; whether he had been killed, ran off, of some other explanation. So, the young mother with a son only a few months old was forced back to work as a cantina dancer. So, until Alrond could start walking and talking, she was forced to take him with her to the cantina at night in which the young baby was cared for by whichever dancer was not dancing at the moment and they took turns caring for the baby based on their shifts.
By the time that Alrond was four, Iella began to leave her son in their apartment alone while she went to work. She locked the door as she left, though Alrond was usually asleep by the time she left and when she returned from work. She was very worried about her child, but without her work she had no way to support herself and Alrond. Also, around this time a group of armored individuals, eight in total (3 women, 4 men, and a child), were living in a larger apartment near the one Iella and Alrond lived.
Iella did not know anything of these people and asked around, finding out that they were Mandalorian mercenaries. She obviously have heard stories of the Mandalorians so she tried to avoid them and warned Alrond to stay away from them. Alrond never really had any friends as his mother barely let him leave their apartment, so must of his time was spent playing with toys of starships.
One night while she was dancing at the cantina, Iella noticed Fidavar watching her. So, when she was through the man said that he needed some money to settle a bounty on his head. She gave him all that she had, no more than 30 credits, and he left promptly without any real explanation. She quickly rushed home as she knew that something was not right and that there would be trouble.
Rushing into her apartment where Alrond was asleep, she promptly woke him up and told him to hide under the bed. He did not know what was going on, but he did as his mother told him. Iella then locked the door of the apartment and as Alrond began to whimper and ask questions, she told him to be quiet. Soon, loud bangs could be heard from the door and eventually it gave in and opened. A human male, looking much tougher than Fidavar, walked in and grabbed Iella. He attempted to try and force her into telling him where Fidavar was, but she did not know. The bounty hunter after a while of yelling got frustrated with her lack of answers and killed Iella with a shot from his blaster. Alrond lay under the bed crying silently.
A Mandalorian woman named Calista Callahan'Rika heard the noise coming from a nearby apartment and went to investigate. She was a battle hardened warrior like any Mandalorian and had the physique and battle scars to prove her worth. She looked to be in her mid-thirties, her actual age being 34, and she had a rough face with short brown hair. She wore her armor, which was red, and she carried her blaster rifle with her as she investigated. She saw a man running out of the room, which she quickly subdued with her bare hands, grabbing his pistol and throwing it away.
Calista, while still holding onto the squirming thug, looked into the apartment room to see a young boy who looked malnourished, though this was just his Arhan physique, crying over the body of his dead mother. In a fit of compassion for the mother and child, along with anger directed at the thug, through the man to the ground and brought her blaster rifle to the man's forehead. She fired a shot at point blank range killing the man instantly, though eventually Alrond's father would be killed by another bounty hunter anyway. Still hearing the cries of the child, Calista strapped her blaster rifle to her back, picked up the child in one arm, and the body of Iella in the other and headed back to the rest of the Mandalorians.
It took a while before Alrond could become calm and he still did not completely comprehend the situation, mainly due to his age. All he knew is that his mother was gone and he was with the people she told him not to go near. If it wasn't for another child there he would not know what to do, though he was larger and older than him. Alrond played with other child which was mainly chasing each other around the apartment while the Mandalorian adults talked. The first person to greet Calista when she returned was the woman she was married to, Sistry. After Calista told her, and the rest of the Mandalorians, about the child and Sistry decided to adopt the child since they could not have a child on their own. Sistry was about five years younger than Calista, and though she was a battle hardened warrior as well she had softer features and was more gentle mannered. She wore black and gold armor with a pair of duel pistols.
So, after the performance of the gai bal manda ceremony Alrond gained the surname of his new adoptive parents, Callahan'Rika. Calista Callahan and Sistry Rika were both Mandalorian mercenaries that were both raised as mercenaries. The Callahan Clan was a newer clan formed by mercenaries left over from the various wars, while the Rika Clan had a deep history and the clan still existed on many Mandalorian planets. When Calista and Sistry got married instead of one just dropping their name, which would have most likely been Calista since the Rika Clan was better established, they combined their surnames together.
They let Alrond mourn his loose for a while, and so at the age of five he began to be brought into the Mandalorian culture. His earliest lessons were with Sistry on the Mando'a language and on Mandalorian culture. Since he was still at a young age when processing this kind of cognitive information was still relatively simple, it was not difficult to grasp and within a year he had the ability to speak the language as someone born a Mandalorian his age would. This would be a testament to his ambition of learning and his intelligence.
Calista also began to teach Alrond combat, and the older Mandalorian child was always his sparing partner. Through a few wrestling matches looked over by Calista it was clear that due to his Arhan heritage that he would never be much of a physical fighter, so she began to alter the training. She began to teach Alrond how to use a ranged weapon, and she choose for him the pistol since it was a light weight weapon that he could handle. Alrond was much more suited for this kind of combat as strength was not a requirement.
Time passed and Alrond continued learning language and culture from his maternal adoptive mother, Sistry, and learning combat from his paternal adoptive mother, Calista. All the while, the Mandalorians in the group also did their work as mercenaries, which included a lot of fighting between criminal groups on the smuggler's planet of Farrfin, which had always been Alrond's home.
One day when Alrond was seven he noticed that a Mandalorian he had never seen before was among the mercenaries. This Mandalorian was a member of his maternal mother's clan, Rika, who was a soldier from Concord Dawn sent to various planets to rally mercenaries to Mandalore's cause on Concord Dawn. Calista and Sistry were the first to decide to return with the man, who was providing transportation, to Concord Dawn as they knew that it would be a better chance to train Alrond to be a proper Mandalorian and have the honor of joining their military. The rest of the Mandalorian mercenaries were quick to follow their lead, so soon Alrond was off to Concord Dawn with the rest of the Mercenaries.
Upon arrival to Concord Dawn the mercenaries parted ways, so Alrond and his parents moved into a home on the property owned by Sistry's Clan. The current head of the clan was the most elder, kind of a distant relative, he was still told to call him Ba'buir (grandfather). Alrond's Ba'buir was named Bashing Rika, and he took an almost instant disliking to Alrond because of his very tiny frame and fragile physique.
Alrond did not really get along with the other Mandalorian children on Concord Dawn, like he did with the other child among the mercenaries. Because he was easily the smallest and weakest of his age group, it seemed everyone's favorite game was to chase and beat up on Alrond. Of course, Alrond would run away and for the first few times he was caught and beat up quite easily. Though, eventually with all of the running away from the other children he became quite fast. But, it was still rather common for him to be caught and beat up.
His paternal mother, Calista, joined the military almost as soon as they reached Concord Dawn and Sistry stayed home to take care of Alrond. Though, Calista was home when Alrond turned nine and after she heard about his troubles gave him a gift. The gift was a stingbeam to defend himself against the children without getting into too much trouble by doing heavy damage to them. His combat training on Concord Dawn was even more difficult from before and it was done by the entire clan.
Alrond excelled in ranged combat training, though his personal preference were pistols instead of the larger bulky weapons. Also, his intelligence was noticed by some members of the clan and he was introduced to some more technical aspects of a Mandalorian life. They introduced him various skills such as repair and slicing, though he did not really have the knack for such skills. But, one of the clan members recognized that he may be able to go into the medical aspect. Alrond's small and nimble fingers could easily handle the precise and delicate medical instruments, so he also began taking classes from a local medic.
Mostly at the beginning he learned how to use various items in a medical pack such as; kolto, stimulants, antiseptic, and how to prepare and use a syringe. He would take these skills and eventually become a medic in the Mandalorian army. Basically, the most he could do was battlefield surgery which he referred to as "Bantha Butchery" as it was merely patching up temporarily with long turn consequences. Alrond would like to learn more complicated medical procedures, but the possibility him learning more delicate procedures is low.
Whenever Alrond had a spare moment from his medical training or combat, he spent time with his maternal mother Sistry and when Calista was around, her as well. Sistry was a good cook, so she would teach Alrond how to cook either in a well established kitchen or in the wilderness, as well as how to properly stay nourished on the battlefield. He was actually quite skilled and cooked for himself often.
The game in with all the other children still occurred, though as he reached the age of ten it became much more difficult. Using his small size he tended to disappear when being chased and he would stun anyone that got close to him at all. And by the time that Alrond was twelve none of the other children could even get close to him, as he had superior speed, skills in stealth, and his weapon if they happened to get too close.
Seeing the Alrond grow from a weak child who was constantly beaten up to the most skilled child in the clan despite his weak physical abilities, Bashing had learned to reconsider the child's potential. So, Bashing told Alrond that his verd'goten, or coming of age trial, was to go with the transport to Dxun, that was to gather some Mandalorians there and transport them to Concord Dawn, and to go into the jungle to kill a Boma and bring back the hide.
So, Alrond traveled to the moon of Dxun with the transport to fullfill his trial. Upon arrival he separated from the rest to go off into the jungle alone in order to find a Boma. Alrond had brought with him two slugthrower pistols given to him by Sistry before he left and a knife to skin the boma. He walked around for hours seeing nothing but creatures not really worth his attention. But eventually, he came upon the creature he was looking for, a rather large boma who was ripping apart a cannok.
Alrond snuck up on the beast and slowly walked into range in which he could fire his weapon. He fired his first pistol and the bullet went through the hide of the beast, quickly the boma turned around and charged in a random direction. Luckily, he was in the creature did not notice him and the boma rampaged in the wrong direction. The field eventually wore off and Alrond began to unload all of his bullets into the boma. Then with a single bullet, he tried for accuracy as the boma charged towards him, shooting the creature in the eye and effectively killing the beast.
Approaching the dead boma, Alrond removed his knife to skin the beast's hide. While he was working away skinning the beast a few cannoks and a maalraas or two attempted to scavenge his hunt, but Alrond was able to take care of those lesser creatures without much trouble. With the boma's hide skinned, Alrond headed back to the passenger transport to return to Concord Dawn.
Upon returning to Concord Dawn Alrond showed his boma hide to Bashing, and he was told that he had passed into adulthood. With the hide, Alrond crafted a pair of boots which he dyed gray. He was also given the honor of receiving the armor of Ba'buir. The armor was much too big and too heavy for Alrond, so he needed to modify it himself before he could join in the Mandalorian army. The first thing he needed to do was refit the armor to his size, as Bashing was more than a foot taller than Alrond. The process of removing armor components and trimming off various parts for it to fit Alrond cut about three kilograms off the armor. But, it was still too heavy for Alrond so he needed to find some way to make the armor lighter. He started by removing some armor around major joints and taking off thin layers from non-vital areas. After being satisified with his modifications, the armor weighted about half its original weight and allowed more flexibility, though some areas were not as well protected. Alrond preferred flexibility over bulky armor to begin with. The final act was to paint the armor; he chose grey and blue. The grey was to represent the loose of his biological mother while the blue was to prove his reliability despite his weak physical strength. Also, Alrond was given a home and strip of land on the Rika Clan property.
So, at the age of thirteen, Alrond was now proven to be an adult in the Mandalorian culture so he joined the army. Alrond was given the lowest rank of private upon his joining and was left to do menial tasks, rarely seeing any action. He performed basic chores around the base on Concord Dawn, though one day while working in the base's mess hall it was quickly found out that he could cook. He was promoted to Private First Class and was made the base's head cook.
Alrond liked cooking but found it insulting that he was considered a non-combatant, as he had passed his trials into adulthood. So, he requested from a higher ranked officer to be transferred to a combat platoon, and for about a year his requests were ignored. Alrond continued to cook on the base, but was very frustrated but he finally got his chance when he was transferred due to a need of backup troops on a mission to investigate a group of Republic diplomats on Onderon.
It was not really expected for Alrond to see combat, but at least he was sent on a true mission. He was grouped with another rather less experienced Mandalorians including a female Kiffar about his age named Shek See. She of course was strong and well trained in melee combat, unlike the small Alrond. But, she was rather kind and struck up conversation with Alrond on the ride to Onderon.
Upon arrival they were informed that they needed to secure the docks as an unsuspected second ship of Republicans were coming. So, the reserve Mandalorian team that Alrond was with had to defend the docks until the main task force returned. Alrond tried to remain hidden when the combat started and drew his pistols, firing against any Republic soldier that got in his way. Out of the corner of his eye, Alrond noticed that Shek was down due to a blaster shot to the leg, though she was still firing towards the enemy. Alrond went over to Shek and dragged her out of the line of fire.
Though Shek was against getting out of the fight, Alrond used a standard medical pack to clean up her wound and wrap it up. She was quickly back into the fight, though with a minor limp. Alrond made sure to cover her to make be certain that she could remain unharmed while still injured. Shortly, the main task forced arrived and took out the remaining republic soldiers. Then, they headed back to the transporter to Dxun; none of the reserve Mandalorian soldiers even knew what the main task force's mission was.
Upon returning, the majority of those in the reserves got promotions, including Alrond who advanced to the rank of Corporal. Also, his response to Shek's injury, as she made a full recovery, was also recognized and he was put into a medical training program. So, Alrond continued his training in the medical field. Some of his lessons included how to do minor surgery during battles, diagnosis of infection-- and minor disease, and other medical skills that could be used on the battlefield.
Alrond also remained in contact with Shek and at the age of sixteen, they got married. She moved into Alrond's home as he remained on Dxun continuing with his medical training. A few months later, Shek gave birth to a daughter they named T'iana. So, Shek took leave from the military temporarily to take care of their daughter.
At the age of seventeen, Alrond's training as a medic was finished and he was given an official medic patch for his armor and he was promoted to sergeant, now he was a non-commissioned officer. He was assigned to a front line platoon as their medic, and occasional cook. Alrond was easily the smallest in the group and got some grief about it, though the commanding officer Major Markus Pendragon, a middle aged male Arkanian, took a liking to him. He got to calling Alrond "Babyface" due to his young appearance and the name stuck throughout his time in the platoon.
One of Alrond's most notable missions early into joining the platoon was the defense of Dxun. Dxun was Mandalorian territory and Onderon was part of the Republic, so confrontation was common. Alrond's platoon was dispatched to defend a camp on Dxun from a Republic attack. A battle in one of the Mandalorian camps was still underway when the platoon arrived.
Alrond would drag those badly wounded out of the line of fire, patch them up, give them some stimulants to ignore pain and fatigue, and send them back into battle. He'd have to deal with the long term effects later. He also did a fair share of fighting as he was forced into a shoot out with some soldiers trying to finish off some downed Mandalorians. So, at one point Alrond was pretty much giving medical attention to the injured with one hand and firing his MSPS-12 at Republic soldiers with the other.
Eventually, the Mandalorians were able to push back the Republic soldiers back to Onderon. Alrond took better care of the wounded since the fighting stopped and the platoon remained on the moon on patrol to make sure that any spare Republic soldiers were not still around. Though, after some patrols the platoon along with Alrond returned to Concord Dawn.
The next major event to happen was when Alrond was selected by CO Pendragon to assist him and five other Mandalorians on a mission to destroy a storage facility on Druckenwell which would damage the industrial strength of the Republic in the sector. They needed someone stealthy and having a medic along would not be bad either, so Pendragon's first choice was Alrond.
So, the total of seven Mandalorian equipped with light weaponry and each of them except Alrond also carried a thermal detonator; as Alrond was to act as lookout and medic when needed. They were transported to the area on a small passenger transport and approached the building. Using, their cover, they worked their way to the storage facility and took out some guards as they broke into a less secure door in the back of the facility.
Slowly, the small group of Mandalorians slowly made their way through the storage facility, taking out guards whenever they were around. Each thermal detonator was placed in a strategic position near a weakened support; as they had stolen blueprints to the building before the planning for the attack was even started which was left to the higher ups. Alrond was left around corners to shoot anyone that got to close almost silently with his slugthrowers. Each of the thermal detonators were set without much problem, but getting out would be the more difficult part of the mission.
They needed to get out quicker in order to avoid being held up and the possibility of the explosives getting noticed. So, without worrying about being seen, they instead attempted to break out of the building and detonate the bombs as quickly as possible. They of course ran into trouble with Republic troops firing, and at one point the group nearly separated due to enemy soldiers coming through multiple hallways. Fighting their way out, most of the Mandalorians, including Alrond, were able to escape though on remained in the building.
Alrond believed his duty to be to preserve the life of all Mandalorians, and he was responsible for those in his platoon. So, without much thought Alrond rushed back into the building alone to see the missing Mandalorian not far from the exit but wounded and being fired upon. Running up to the downed Mandalorian, and began firing his pistol at the Republic soldiers. With most of the soldiers dead, Alrond removed the downed Mandalorian's helmet to check his vitals though it was rather clear he was already dead. Knowing that there was nothing he could do and death was merely part of the Mandalorian life, Alrond took the helmet and ran back out to the rest of the escaping Mandalorians and boarded the transport that was waiting for them. He gave the helmet to CO Pendragon and they save the explosion of the successful mission go up in the storage facility. Though, there was a short fight above the atmosphere they easily defeated the light ships and returned to Concord Dawn.
For his work in the mission and showing great bravery in returning for a comrade, with the suggestion of Pendragon, Alrond was promoted to Staff Sergeant. And also, due to a lack of well equipped medics in the Special Operations unit it was suggested that Alrond be transferred to them. It was accepted and Alrond obtained a datapad for his transfer. He was also given a short rest period with his family, until he was told to report to his new position in the Special Ops.
RP Sample: Alrond, CO Pendragon, Injuried Mandalorian - Ineris
The battle on Dxun was in heat and Alrond was caught up in his duties as the platoon's medic. He had hidden among the foliage as it was best if he was not noticed by the enemy Republic soldiers as an injured medic could prove to be a dangerous disadvantage. Of course, he was a Mandalorian, so he was trained in combat as well so he had his slugthrower pistols drawn and fired at any Republic soldier that got near.
As he just shot down a low ranked Republic soldier Alrond heard an order from Pendragon, "Babyface! Ineris is down, take care of it."
Alrond quickly looked up to see a Mandalorian in green armor on the ground firing his repeating blaster at any of the Republic soldiers that approached. Alrond carefully ran to the injured Mandalorian to help. He got his arm under the arm of the man and said in a calm voice, "You'll need to help me Ineris. I won't be able to move you out of fire unless you help."
So, as Ineris used his legs to push himself as Alrond pulled him away from the blaster fire. Luckily, another Mandalorian in the platoon had been ordered by Pendragon to cover Alrond and Ineris. They were able to get out of most of the fire so that Alrond could examine and treat Ineris. He laid Ineris on his back and examined the wound; he had taken multiple blaster bolts to the chest which had cracked his armor and left a burning and bleeding wound. Ineris said somewhat wheezing, "Will I still be able to fight, Babyface?"
Alrond responded with a firm, "Shut up!" He needed to concentrate and having Ineris talking along with the battle going around him were not helping. The wound was not too bad; at least he could live, so Alrond treated the best he could. He took a bottle from his medical kit and sprayed kolto on the wound, the covered it with a patch of synthflesh. Then he said to the Ineris, "I'm going to give you a stimulant. It will help fight the pain and fatigue, so that you may continue fighting. But, after a few hours the affects will wear off and you will crash under the fatigue." As he finished talking he jammed the stimulant needle into Ineris.
Ineris quickly felt the affects of the stimulant and returned to his feet, and with blaster in hand he headed back to the battle. Alrond too headed back to the battlefield; so he drew his pistols and followed Ineris.
