Bio:
The history of the Kandosii Aliit is truly a strange one. The name "Kandosii" can be translated as "Ruthless" or "Indomitable" from Mando'a, but the real definition is a blend of the two words. The name for the clan is quite fitting as well. It is perhaps one of the strangest of the Mandalorian Clans. The Kandosii Aliit is comprised of a collection of species, like many Mandalorian Clans, however the heritage of the clan is quite unique. Drawing is ancestry from the Morgukai, Matukai, Tusken Raider, and Mandalorian traditions.
The clan was founded thousands of years ago by a Taung Mandalorian named Kandola and a group of Mandalorians following him as they traveled the Outer Rim during the early days of Mandalorian scouting. He sought to win fame and glory by finding opponents worthy of battle and defeating them, as many Mandalorians did who ventured out from Mandalore.
He and his kin soon encountered the Nikto planet of Kintan, a harsh world inhabited by the various subspecies of Nikto. They scoured the planet in search of foes, raising towns and villages to provoke worthy opponents to show themselves. Most resistance was meager and he grew disappointed with the world and prepared to leave. When he conducted a final raid on the planet in one of its deserts, he and his soldiers were met not by standard warriors, but by Morgukai, an elite order of honorable, yet violent warriors. They did battle for the better part of 3 years. Their war came largely to a draw, with a slight favorable balance to the Mandalorians. Instead of wiping out the planet, Kandola invited the Morgukai to join the clan and share their knowledge of battle. Thus began the diversity of the Kandosii clan.
The Morgukai warriors introduced their culture and battle style, plus their deep seated hatred for Jedi, to Kandola and his kin. The honorable conduct, yet warlike nature of the Morgukai sect and the Mandalorians mixed well. The Morgukai adopted the Six ways of the Mandalorians, which were not very different from their own laws, and fully integrated into the Kandosii. Major contributions to the clan were the Morgukai training to resist mind tricks and illusions, and cortosis weapons and armor as a means of resisting Jedi weapons.
For several thousand years the clan trained in their blend of Morgukai and Mandalorian arts. The title of Kandosii, first used for Kandola, was passed on to the leaders of the clan who also took the same name. They roamed the fringes of the galaxy in search of new foes and homes. Their travels brought them to Tatooine, which would become their adoptive homeworld. The harsh terrain and lifestyle outside of the cities of Tatooine proved to be excellent grounds to train warriors. The heat and conditions pushed them to the extreme and forced warriors to use all of their resources and abilities just to survive. Here they encountered the Tusken Raiders. Immediately they sparked off a series of conflicts which initially went badly for the clan because the Tusken Raiders knew the terrain and tactics for it.
Fortunes changed for the clan when a group of alienated Tusken Raiders decided to join the Kandosii as Mandalorians. They were not fully accepted in the first generation, but their knowledge of the land, culture, and tactics of the Tusken Raiders proved invaluable. Their children would become the first full fledged Mandalorians from their families. Not only did the Kandosii learn of Tusken tactics, but their custom of youths slaying Krayt Dragons as a right of passage as well. The Kandosii viewed this as a brilliant test of skill for new Mandalorians and integrated that into their culture and custom.
The Tusken Raiders and Kandosii were both nomadic in the deserts and would often compete for resources.
Years before the Old Sith Wars, several Matukai warriors found themselves stranded on Tatooine after their ship crashed on the planet. After being attacked by Tusken raiders and surviving for a great deal of time, the Kandosii came and rescued the warriors from the Tusken Raiders and brought them to their camp. Their abilities as warriors were highly respected by the Kandosii who offered them positions within the clan, which they accepted.
They brought their martial arts and meditative practices where they could draw force sensitivity out of those not naturally inclined to it. This minor force training helped the Kandosii by leaps and bounds as they used it to heighten their battle Senses, fighting style, and survival skills.
The clan constantly tested itself in combat by fighting the Tusken Raider clans for resources, territory, and prestige. Its members often found employ at Mos Eisley as bounty hunters or mercenaries. They became experts of Melee and Unarmed combat, taken from their multiple traditions with almost all focusing on Melee and Unarmed combat. Their leaders wrote several treatises on Ground warfare, which were made very credible given their ability to test their theories in combat against the Raiders. The Kandosii would also serve in armies that would take him on as a Commander, allowing him to gain battle experience, test military theories, and learn from other armies and battles.
As they focused on the various traditions, they found themselves falling behind technologically. The norm was for most clansmen to be foreign to most technologies other than blasters (which were constantly updated from Mos Eisley ports) and weaponry. Some who served outside of the clan as bounty hunters and mercenaries and who became more familiar with technology were often times found returning to the clan to introduce them to something "new". Almost none became pilots, and they usually had to hire transport to move from planet to planet.
Ro'gath'klaatu was born to Nikto parents of the Kandosii clan on Tatooine. His parents were both famous warriors of the clan. His father possessed the helmet worn by Kandola, which was partly constructed from Mythosaur Bone and Baskar. His possession signified his position as Te Kandosii, the leader of the clan. It was part of his family's tradition that their ancestor was adopted by Kandola, thus making them the children of Kandola, and they fought to uphold that standard. He was the first child of the pair and they were fortunate that he was in perfect health at birth, or so they thought.
When he was two they found that he cried a great deal, far more than a child should. After initially being disappointed by what they thought as a "weak" child, they began to think it was more than that and had him looked at by a Clan Healer. The healer determined that the child had a weak heart and often felt uncomfortable due to improper blood flow. The healer began a series of sessions with the boy to improve his condition, but could only get it sufficiently healed to the point where he would survive and not cry as much. The healer determined that it would likely be a problem the child would have to live with and either overcome, or fall victim to.
They tried to raise him to be as strong as possible, but the constant reminder of his condition prompted them to withhold him from many activities of the older Mandalorian children, much to his frustration. They figured he would grow up to be a doctor or mechanic, or some other vital position that didn't require as much combat or physical exercise. He didn't wish to be restricted however and often grew angry at his parents attempts to shield him. He desired to be with the others, not locked inside.
As he got older, he tried more and more to engage in the activities of his peers. He was infuriated when his condition slowed him down, for he often could not keep up with the other children in the training circles or explorations. He found himself to be ridiculed by the other children and increasingly drew within himself. His desire to surpass all of them grew also. It was during these years that he gained a obsessive desire to excel and best everyone else. Due to his condition, he often had to take breaks during regular training sessions and was forced to watch while the others did them. He memorized the movements and taught them to himself as best he could while the others rested and played. He wouldn't let himself fall behind.
His tutors and masters were surprised that he did not completely lag behind his peers, rather he just managed to keep up. He had a tenacity to keep getting up and push himself, despite his physical condition. Time and time again he ended up in a bacta-tank after exerting himself too much. He refused to slow down however, and he was respected by the elders for his spirit, but his peers mocked him for he was rarely ever able to best any of them.
As the years dragged on, he grew more introverted, cold, and pessimistic. He continued to train alone and with his father in order to keep up with his peers. When he was twelve, he had a major turning point in his life. His condition seemed to have gone into remission, or he had outgrown it, and he not only stayed with the group but began to excel. He began scoring victories in the battle circle, although he still was not counted amongst the top of the group, he at least was no longer at the bottom. When he was 13 and became an adult by Mandalorian standards, he was considered to be a decent warrior. He still hadn't completed the maturity ritual yet, where he would face a Krayt Dragon with a group of other young Mandalorians and thus was not considered a full adult yet.
Here he devoted himself to his training totally, he began to try to compete with the better students. He studied war, the Matukai force principles, and the Morgukai fighting style in earnest. He constructed his own Wan-Shen with cortosis weave in the manner taught to him by his Morgukai teachers. He approached the ritual with eagerness, his only desire to prove himself as a true Mandalorian and put his weakness behind him.
He was finally 16, and thus was made to leave the camp and not return until he had slain a Krayt Dragon and brought back its bones to use in construction of his armor. He decided not band together with the other teens, and desired to accomplish the impossible, slay a dragon on his own. He was mocked by the others who pronounced him dead. Their ridicule only pushed him further to accomplish his task. So, armed with his Wan-Shen, his long range blaster, and his wits, he set out to accomplish his mission.
At first he had difficultly locating a Krayt Dragon to slay, wandering the deserts to near death. Finally he settled at a moisture farm for a few days to rest. A Krayt Dragon was reported near the farm, and after resting only a short while, he set out to hunt it. He discovered it was a juvenile one. Not as glorious as defeating a full grown one, he figured he could kill this one on his own. He stalked the beast for quite some time, or rather, they stalked each other. He the hunter became the hunted as he hunted. It was a deadly dance, one that Ro'gath was determined to win.
He came close to killing the beast once, but it drove him off and left him wounded. After he beat his retreat, his heart started to pain him badly. He refused to accept death and fought on to continue to hunt. After several days of battling his condition, he was forced to accept the inevitable. As he allowed himself to slip slowly to death he sensed danger, not his own, but people he knew. He moved to investigate and found that the same group that had mocked him was now being hunted by the very same Krayt Dragon he was hunting. They were fairing badly against the beast.
Rogath laughed to himself that they might join him, but then he felt that if he killed the beast that they as a group could not, he would not only have redeemed himself, but propelled himself to the highest prestige a warrior could have. Gathering what strength he had, he focused and meditated on his body using Matukai techniques to help himself draw on the force. With the added strength of the force behind him he unleashed a flurry of shots at the beast's back. It was wounded and turned to face him. He drew his Wan-Shen and began a deadly battle with it once again. He nearly died several times but in the end, he killed it. He had done the impossible. With that, he allowed himself to collapse.
He awoke to find himself in the village surrounded by his family and clansmen. They held out the pauldrons fashioned from the beast and woven with beskar and cortosis. It was his right as the one who slayed the beast to wear them. Few were bestowed the honor of the beast's bone to be part of his own armor. The Bone had to be carefully treated and chemically enhanced to be hard as steel and resistant to blasters and blades. The weave underneath the bones of Beskar and cortosis would protect him from the Jedi weapons. He had done it. He was now a highly respected warrior.
As he got older, he began to fill out much more. He trained constantly to improve his skills and status. He grew tall, much taller than most and he became a rather imposing figure. This large stature, plus musculature, plus the appearance of his armor gave him an extremely intimidating appearance. He also grew to be somewhat arrogant, believing himself to be superior to most.
Finally considered an adult, he began to go out with the other warriors on raids against the sand people and others. In battle he was ruthless and unwavering, constantly seeking to prove himself to the others as the best of the best. He slew anything in his path, women, children, anything that crossed him in battle. His might was praised by the clan who sought to cultivate his battle talent. They put him on the front lines in raids and was often with the warriors sent out to scout, or protect something. He loved combat for it allowed him to prove himself and validate his existence, something he constantly had to do or he began to question himself.
The Sand People once again grew fed up with the Kandosii. The clan had grown significantly and had begun to trespass on the traditional tribal ground of the sand people. The final straw came when the Kandosii removed bodies from a Sand People burial site to make a new moisture farm. The several tribes of sand people organized a formidable force and renewed the war against the Kandosii. Rogath reveled in the opportunity for real warfare and was eager to go with his father into the fray. He took up a position on the front line and was charged with leading strike missions on the Tusken camps to harass their war effort.
As the war dragged on, the Kandosii continued to score victories but their numbers were not infinite. A favorable agreement towards the Kandosii was established, but the Kandosii relinquished the right to a great deal of former Tusken territory. Rogath learned greatly from his experiences in that small war and matured because of it. He gained a reputation for being rather ruthless in combat, having never taken a single prisoner or hostage. He liked the reputation greatly. With the war's end Rogath looked for new ways to test himself and so temporarily left the clan for Mos Eisley, seeking employ as a mercenary.
Upon arriving at Mos Eisley, he found that his reputation had preceded him and that there were several contestants for his blade. He knew of the Hutts and their power and thought that they would be worthy of his service. He was not aware of the extent of their Criminal Empire however. He thought that there might be some honorable deeds to be done and Glory to be gained. He was very dissapointed.
The Hutts turned him into a high profile thug, enforcing their will and serving as their bodyguards against their enemies. If it was not for his promise of service, and him being honor bound to uphold it, he would have left. After several years of service to them, he left promising to keep his silence about their affairs.
He turned to gladiatorial fights in the underworld. There he sought out opponents worthy of battle, plus gaining the glory of defeating them for all to see. He fought in arenas across the galaxy winning scores of battles and making quite a name for himself. He grew tired of the fights, especially after several attempts on his life by those who sought to cheat to get ahead. Seeing little honor in continuing, he left the fights to pursue a career as a Mercenary. Here he gained invaluable combat and command experience. He did everything from train soldiers, to lead them into battle. He aided corporations in defeating their enemies and taking slaves, he did anything that was legal and would gain him military experience. He also particularly enjoyed hunting Jedi. Anything that would allow him to clash blades with a Jedi he would take. His Morgukai heritage had bestowed a hatred for them that he took out on them. He began a small collection of their lightsabers.
More than once his lack of technological aptitude hindered him in his tasks, but he pressed on anyway. Whenever he came across other Mandalorians being made to work as two-bit thugs, he offered them refuge with his clan. Many did not accept his offer, preferring their lifestyle to one in a desert. He carried on in this manner for several years before returning to Tatooine.
Once again his clan was skirmishing with the Sand people. Rogath's father had been caught in an ambush and lay wounded in the camp. Rogath grew furious and took up the mantel as commander of the Clan's forces. Through cunning and might, he organized an alliance of Mos Eisley, The Kandosii, and several Tusken tribes willing to cooperate. With his coalition forces, Rogath finally began a campaign of revenge against the Sand People that had ambushed his father.
He used all his years of experience in combating the Tuskens. His tactics were ruthless and effective. He burned camps, raided trade posts, and dehydrated camps by capturing their moisture farms and forcing them to die slow, painful deaths.
In the end, the coalition won, and for the first time in quite some time, the Kandosii had scored a decisive victory against their traditional foe. The victory was bitter-sweet though for Rogath's father died, along with a great many clansmen. Rogath took on the position of Te Kandosii undisputed and began to lead the clan just as his father had.
Throughout his life he had neglected a central part of Mandalorian life, having a family. He was already very introverted and cold and callous to others, and now he grew lonely and bitter. His reputation for Ground Warfare won him recognition amongst the Mandalorians. He visited Mandalore and other Mandalorian worlds to familiarize himself with others of the faction. It was then that his rank was established within the Mandalorian Military in their preparation for future conquests. As one of the finest commanders on the ground, Rogath hopes to lead the Mandalorian legions to victory in the coming crusade.
RP Sample: (Not an actual event, but how he would act)
Rogath stood above the tactical display of the battle before him. He watched as the blips moved in correspondence to the movements of the armies in real time. The technology was fascinating, he was used to drawn maps of battlefields and moving units by wooden figures. This map was far more accurate and he could see the relative strengths of the units, plus by touching them, he could review their reports and status. He was not sure how it all worked, but he learned how to use it quickly. What was important was the task at hand, the battle.
The Republic had recognized the Mandalorian threat and sent quite a fleet and army to oppose them. Their new commander also helped their cause. The Republic reinforcements had dropped out of hyperspace in the heat of the battle and Republic reinforcements were dropping to the planet in droves. The fleet above could do little to stop the small dropships as they were forced to engage the larger ships protecting them. The battle did not seem to favor the Mandalorians this day, but that had not stopped them before. The crusade would not stop here, not with Rogath at its helm.
He concocted a brilliant strategy in his mind. He would allow the center to break by withdrawing troops from their and bolstering the flanks. The Republic would likely take this as a tactical error and press their advantage in breaking the Mandalorian center. As they poured more troops into the middle of the battle and pressed forward, they would be sucked deeper into the Mandalorian lines and right into Rogath's trap. Of course it would require sacrificing almost three battalions of fine soldiers but Rogath didn't care. Soldiers died in war, they did their duty and would fight with honor. Their sacrifice would help win the day.
Rogath instructed his commanders to follow this new strategy. His center commander asked if Rogath knew the consequences of the plan to which Rogath replied quite harshly, "Of course I do! Do your duty and die with honor. We shall win this day or all of us will die. Bah gar darasuum kote ner'tat" (Eternal Glory to you my brother)
The commander replied with a "yes sir". He wasn't heard from again. The casualties were high, but against all odds, the Mandalorians had won the day.

The Warrior's Life
As he got older, he began to fill out much more.
Time Away from the Clan
Te Kandosii
