[Jerek]

The red and black ship to Jerek Kahn flew over Korriban's surface. The desert landscape whizzed by under the massive transport. The engines hummed loudly. Jerek sat in the center of the ship, eyes closed, meditating. His droid flew the ship, as always. Jerek was dressed in his usual black attire.

His cloak hung over the edges of the chair he sat in. His hair fell in his eyes. His hair used to be short and spiky, but now it was long and somewhat shaggy. Jerek didn't brush it off his face as he continued to meditate. His arms were together on his lap.

His lightsaber was connected to his belt. He hadn't killed anyone in a while. He hadn't even fought anyone in a while. He urned for battle, for blood. Suddenly, he opened his eyes, revealing the glowing yellow orbs behind hi s eyelids. As he stood up, his ship dropped down to the ground and landed.

The exit ramp sung open with a hiss. Jerek walked off his ship without a word to the droid. He looked around the cliff he was on. No one was to be seen, but he knew he was to be here. He felt the force telling him. He dropped down to the ground, sitting with his legs tucked up under him. He sat on his knees, resting his hands on his knees. He closed his eyes slowly and drifted off into meditation.

The Force had many paths. Jerek was not yet strong enough to search some of those paths. He could only search a few. He searched them to make sure this was spot he had seen in his short glimpse into the future. After confirming it, he slipped back into consciousness.

He slowly stood and looked around again. The winds blew sands around the cliff, making small spirals in the air. Jerek's cloak fluttered along with the wind, as did his hair. He hadn't cut his hair in a while. It was as if he had just disappeared for a short period of time. He was now part of the Sith Order, however. Still, though, he hadn't received his Sith title.

Nirisi's speeder bike kicked up sand behind her. The steady thrum and whine of its engines filled her ears. The lightsaber at her belt thumped rythmically, and her robe billowed out behind her in the wind of her passing. She was heading towards a cliff in the distance. She felt the pull of the Force to be alone, to think-

And then she saw the ship, slowly coming to rest on the cliff she was heading for. She had the brief thought that she should turn back, get help, or find another place. But the Force still called her, inexorably. She had no idea why: whoever was in that ship was probably merely another initate, like herself.

She slowed her bike just a bit, approaching the cliff with more caution. She brought her bike around over the cliff, the pitch of the engines changing just a bit as the repulsors adjusted themselves for the changed height. She switched the bike off, and listened in the sudden silence as her bike engines quieted.

Not far away, the ship sat, and right before it, at the edge of the cliff, a person stood. He wore robes and a saber, and Nirisi could sense the darkness in him. He must be one of them. She kicked the rest out of the bike, leaning the bike over just a bit for it to rest on the ground before she climbed off quietly.

Jerek suddenly felt someone approaching form the desert rapidly. He didn't move. He continued to sit there, reaching out with the Force. He tracked the person up to where they dismounted their vehicle. They slowly and quietly climbed down to stand a few meters from Jerek. He smirked a little, then stood up.

"Hello there." As the wind picked up, Jerek's shaggy hair was blown down into his eyes. He brushed it from his eyes and continued to look at the person before him. He saw the metallic hand of a lightsaber at their belt. sensing the darkness in them, Jerek guessed they might have a crimson blade.

Jerek, however had a dark yellow blade. He wondered if the person in front of him was part of the Sith Order. They most likely were, considering their dark aura.

The man standing before her spoke quietly. He had long hair, and she could still spot the lightsaber hanging at his belt. "Hello." she answered.

A long pause proceeded to sink between them, and Nirisi broke it. "I am sorry if I am intruding. I was already headed here when I saw your ship set down." Nirisi's eyes remained watchful. It was best to stay cautious, even about her fellow Dark Side users. They were unpredictable, prone to swings of intention and mood- not people to be trifled with.

Jerek listened to her explanation. "I too was pulled here by the Force." He wondered if the woman in front of him was destined to be an important part in his life, in his upcoming future. He knew she was wary of him, just as he was of her. No one could be trusted. That's how Jerek saw it. Even if someone used the same side of the Force as you, didn't mean they were your friend.

Nirisi gave the man before her a more minute examination. He had felt the pull of the Force as well. That wasn't surprising in and of itself- the first thing any Force user learned was that the Force was mysterious and had its own way of doing things. She folded her fingers together behind her back and advanced a pace or two.

"I am Initiate Nirisi Jettin. And you are-?" she asked. She may not have trusted him, but it was as good a time as any to cultivate more acquaintanceships. She narrowly watched the other, waiting for his reponse.

Jerek cocked an eyebrow as the woman suddenly introduced herself. As she folded her hands behind her back, he crossed his over his chest. He eyed her lightsaber once last time before talking again. "I am Jerek. That's all you need to know for now." He allowed a smirk to cross his stony features.

Nirisi's eyebrow twitched upwards, just slightly. He was apparently going to hold out on her. A smug half-smile played over her face. "I see." she said. She resisted the urge to let her hand drift to her lightsaber, instead reaching up and pushinga stray lock of dark hair from her face.

Jerek was smirking, and she returned the look with a cool gaze. "I suppose you have already joined the Dark Lord." she gestured towards the Temple.

Jerek looked back at the temple as she gestured towards it. He resisted the urge to cackle out loud. He had not technically joined the "Dark Lord", even though he was at the gathering he and his dogs had. Jerek hadn't trusted them while he was attending the meeting.

Jerek hadn't completed the task laid out for him and a team of other Dark Jedi. He wondered if he would be attacked, welcomed, tortured, or even scorned if he went to the temple. His features went back to their stony state, unemotional, unchanging.

Nirisi sensed the different emotions rolling off of the other Dark Jedi. She also noticed he remained silent. Her eyes grew a bit more distant; whoever this was, he obviously didn't care for friendship. But the Force had called them here. It had to have a purpose, regardless of how useless its leadings appeared to her. So, she pointedly looked away from him and joined him in silence.

She had no reason to stay- except the invisible, inescapable pull of the Force. As she contemplated leaving, the pull grew stronger. No, she could not leave. A breeze came whipping by, blowing her robe hood back and whipping her hair about her face. Nirisi tucked it back behind her ears, mentally growling. She was up here, held fast by the Force, and had better things she could be doing.

Like sparring. A smile tugged at her lips at that thought. Surely someone on thus forsaken planet enjoyed sparring.

Jerek realized too late that he was staring at the temple, remaining silent. He cursed himself under his breathe. He looked back at the woman just as the winder blew her hood away, revealing her face. Her hair flew around her face. Her hair was very long and a dark brown color. Jerek smirked to himself.

He could just faintly sense her agitation. She wanted to leave, but couldn't, just like him. They were drawn here by the Force. Then, Jerek sensed the thought of sparring. He smirked on the outside this time. "Care for a sparring match?" Just as the words escaped his lips, his lightsaber flew from his belt and into his hand, igniting in midair.

The dark yellow blade hummed in a rhythmic fashion. Jerek spun it around in circles, feeling its heartbeat syn with his. It had been a long time, since he'd last fought. Too long.

He proposed sparring with an I'll-concealed glee. Nirisi calmly bound back her hair. "Certainly." her lightsaber appeared in her hand, its double length heavy in her hand. She activated only one of the blades, the crimson stream lighting the ground about her.

She shrugged her cloak off, revealing the dark tunic underneath. She waited, her body tense but controlled. "Ready when you are." she said quietly. She moved into her opening stance- saber behind and down just slightly, tip pointing to the ground.

Jerek didn't bother hiding his smirk. It had been too long since he'd last fought. He swung his lightsaber around a few times, before looking back at the girl. She had a double-bladed weapon, but only ignited one of the blades. He'd have to watch that other emitter or risk losing a limb or even his life.

After assessing the situation, he smirked again. He bent his legs and jumped into the air, propelled by the force. He flew over her, doing a front flip and twisting in midair to bring his weapon's blade down at her head.

Nirisi reacted to his move with split-second timing. She fell into a half crouch, thrusting her saber up to clash with his and gave a twist, hoping to throw him off balance. She spun out from beneath him, boots grating on rock and shale, body graceful and concerted.

She faced him again, tense but controlled. He had attacked once; by all rights the next was hers, but she was loathe to take it. The attacker was often at a disadvantage. A defender could fend off attacks if she was versatile enough, but an attacker would use up energy. Lots of it, leaving him open for a succession of counterattacks. All this ran through Nirisi's head in a split second as she waited for his move.

Jerek was slightly taken by surprise as she twisted her blade around. His landing was not as graceful as he intended. He landed fine, but almost fell. He grimaced at his own mistake. He looked back up at her. She was a few feet away. Jerek deactivated his lightsaber, so he could slip his cloak off. As it landed in a huddle on the ground, his yellow blade came back to life in his hand.

He couldn't tell what the woman was thinking. Hopefully she couldn't sense his thoughts either. He usually kept his mind a steel trap. He narrowed his eyes at her. She was.... waiting. Waiting for him to attack. He raised his left hand up, fingers extended slightly towards the woman. His fingers sizzled with Force energy, then lighting came bursting out of his hand in great blue arcs towards the woman's chest.

The air after the lightning attack crackled from the Force.

Nirisi both saw and sensed his intent before the lightning came towards her. She sidestepped our of the current, spinning her blade to deflect the energy. It took a bit of effort, but Nirisi wasn't about to get hit with that stuff again.

Once the attack ended, Nirisi took advantage of the pause and ran forward, using the Force to speed her way. She spun her saber, aiming an attack at his head.

Jerek watched as the woman dodged and deflected his attack. He growled to himself slightly. Then, she came running at him, swinging for his head. As she swung, though, Jerek ducked down quickly and spun around under her blade off to the left. As he stood, he swung his blade for her right knee.

Halfway through the swing, though, he converted it into a stab upward towards her sternum.

Nirisi saw the attack coming at her knees, and swung her saber to block, but then he changed his attack. She swung the tip of her blade around, hitting his just inches from her body. Stepping back to gain a bit of ground, she swung her saber towards his head.

She briefly thought of activating her other blade, and playing her one advantage, but caution triumphed. She'd keep that one in reserve.

Jerek had thought he had her when he switched his attack so quickly, but she blocked just in time. His blade hummed just inches from her chest. The beast was denied its dinner and it wasn't happy about it. After blocking his blow, she backed up some to gain some ground, then swung for Jerek's head. Jerek was barely quick enough to go into a back flip, which brought him five feet away from the woman.

His yellow eyes locked onto her blade. She still hadn't activated that second blade. That worried Jerek a little. Was she waiting for him to forget about it so she could take him off-guard? Perhaps she was just waiting for when she really needed it. He couldn't tell.

Jerek continued looking at the woman for another moment or two before thinking of a new approach for his attack. He had tried switching his attack in mid-strike, but was unsuccessful , for she had just barely blocked it. If he tried a direct attack, she could unleash her other blade and put Jerek on the defense. He had also tried the Force, but she had been able to block it as well.

All these thoughts passed through his mind in a few mere seconds. He looked around the cliff top. there had to be something up here he could use. There was his ship, her speederbike, and then, of course, the cliff itself. Suddenly, the figurative light bulb lit up in his head.

He reached his left hand out towards the girl and summoned the Force to his aid in an attempt to rip a few boulders form the wall of the cliff that was behind her. The force soon surrounded and outcropping on the cliff wall and tore it from the wall. The outcropping, once off the cliff broke into three big boulders. Sweat began to form at Jerek's hairline as he concentrated on hurling the boulders for the woman.

One boulder flew from the invisible harness at a twitch of Jerek's left index finger. Another shot for her at the same kind of motion. The third as thrown with a wave of his hand; it had a slight spin to it as it went sailing through the air.

He lifted his hand towards her, and Nirisi steeled herself for the tug of the Force- but instead, she heard the rending and tearing of the cliff face behind her. She sensed the first boulder coming. Using the Force, she propelled herself up and over it, landing on the second. She pushed off from it as the third smacked into it, catapulting herself towards her opponent in a shower of rock shards.

She landed a few feet from him, boots making furrows in the dirt. She swung her saber at his torso, hoping to catch him off balance still from the effort of lifting the boulders.
