Trilogy Remake

Has anyone else heard rumors about there being a remake for the first trilogy (New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return Of The Jedi) that is going to be made? Couple of my guy friends have said Lucas is not going to change anything at all, just put in new actors and some more cool looking special FX. Also, I have been told Shia Labuff might be the one playing as Han Solo....please tell me I'm being lied to and all of this is a joke. Has anyone else heard about this?

There have been similar rumors flying around for some time now. But, to the best of my knowledge, nothing has ever been even remotely confirmed. I would just expect it's a few die-hard fans who'd rather see Luke and Leia and the rest of the bunch replaced by more modern actors, rather than an actual movement started by Lucas at this point.

I haven't heard of such a thing, and desperately hope it's a false rumor.

Well, I wouldn't mind a remake at all as long as there are good actors playing in it. Such as the role of Han Solo, I think the guy from Firefly who played Mal would be a good Han Solo. But something I'd like to see more than a remake is something that follows after the Return of the Jedi episode. I know we have books, but I'd rather watch a movie or something.

I don't want G.L. messing with the OT any more than he has already. They're fine as is.

O__o Who in the world said they were re-filming the original trilogy??

I most certainly haven't heard that and truly hope it's all just a false rumor. G.L. already re-vamped the originals and re-released them. With all the other stuff out there for him to work with, I can't imagine that he'd waste time and money re-making a story he's already told. He has hundreds of books to pull from to include the various comic series. If he wants to release a new movie, I'd think it would be the stuff written about Jania and Jacen.

The only thing I've heard confirmed though is that there WILL be a Star Wars t.v. show (live action) that's set to come out in the next one to three years. They are setting it between the 3rd and 4th movies to cover the time after the fall of the Jedi. So, from what I understand, no lightsaber action, just mercs and normal folks trying to live through the tough times. I'm kinda excited about THAT. Anyone else?

Are you kidding? I'm not excited for that at all =[ thats gunna be boring with no Jedi in there!! Maybe they'll have alot of Obi-won and little Luke instead of just random mercs?? And I've never read the books so I'm not sure who Jaina and Jacen are, but shoot as long as its cool and not directed by George, I wouldn't care lol

Awww, come on. We have a whole mercenaries and fringe section that's chock full of interesting storylines. I'm sure someone can come up with some fun plots for a Star Wars t.v. show. ^____^ I'll admit though that I'd MUCH rather see an Old Republic show that revolved around the many missions and adventures of Knights and their padawans. Still, I'll be happy with a show set between the trilogies too.

Jania and Jacen are the children of Han Solo and Leia. They are part of the new order of Jedi that occur after the movies.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind 7, 8, 9....meh maybe it would be just a disappointment. TV series sounds cool, though. I personally don't care to lose Jedi, I always found them OP and boring. Dogfights and space chases ftw!

Heh, well, I think the new show will contain plenty of blaster action, chase scenes, and fun stuff like that. I think it's about the very beginning of the rebellion.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind no Jedi, either. I think it'd be interesting to see the rebels being chased by the new Vader and all that stuff.
