Hey nick, I rented that game just last night and I must tell you that it is amazing!! There are a couple new zombies you have to fight which you have already pointed one out. That zombie is called the charger. Kinda like a football player that runs around, tackles you and pounds you to the ground. There is also another zombie called a spitter, which spits out acid at you from time to time, and even bleeds acid. The new levels you have to play are simply amazing and fun to complete, constantly forcing you to run from one side of the field to another with thousands of zombies on your tail! The game also has an incredible amount of different weapons, like silenced machine guns and automatic shotguns, and even melee weapons, like samurai swords. And one of the things I like most is that the 4 characters talk alot more in here, and are very funny from time to time. My favorite to play is Ellis he makes me laugh. Have you gotten a chance to play it yet, nicky?

There's a very good reason the Witch was kept NPC: she's too powerful. Her melee attack incaps her victim instantly - on Expert she'll kill you outright. In fact, at first the Witch would attack all the Survivors when startled, but Valve found that this made her too dangerous an opponent, especially to new players, so they limited her wrath to the one poor sod who woke her up. I think for L4D2 they removed that limitation; IIRC, the last time I encountered a Witch on the demo she attacked the rest of us once she'd incapped whoever had startled her.
I should think, though, that the new Special Infected are playable as well. I've only played through the demo (which, btw, is the first two chapters of The Parish) twice, and already I can see the new Specials having all kinds of strategic and tactical value...

Ah good point, the witch does kick major buttox. But she doesn't attack someone else when she downs them. She attacks them when they shoot her, kinda of like an "aggro shooting" thing. The more you shoot her, the more she comes for you. Unless of course she already has one of the survivors down. Once she kills one she does go for others tho.

one on one, hardly anyone can win against a tank, even with a gun. The best way to deal good damage to the tank is hitting it in the back, most likely when its attacking someone else. But when dealing with other zombies, every single melee weapon kills them with one hit. I use melee weapons all the time, mostly the axe

ha it is good for one at a time hits, but not when you're overwhelmed. I played the versus just a few minutes ago, and yes you get to play the new zombies, but not the witch =/. As always you occasionally become the tank. fun fun stuff

For me? I might be over scoring, but I would give it an 8, and yes it is much better than the original.

I like it...like it a lot. Haven't played online yet. I do wish there was more story to the single player, but as it's designed for the multiplayer experience, I can't expect much more.
The interactions between the characters is hilarious though, especially Ellis. Always has a story about his buddy Keith drowning in the tunnel of love or getting bombed by the army.
