It had been a long day. Weeks had Jedi Healer Levin Caelum been posted at this planet- working in a local hospital that had received some refugees in need of aid. Twenty three deaths in one day was harsh, even for one such as him. To wash himself clean of the day, the Healer floated on his back in the water, his coat and clothes folded on a large rock on the shore. Lev let his silver-rimmed green eyes close in serenity, letting the Force flow out of his body and mind, the Force flowing into him equally with everything he expelled, a cleansing he needed greatly.
After a few more minutes relaxing, Lev rolled to his right side and dived deep, letting the water surround him and the Force to make his breath last longer. The water was crystal clear, fish swam lazily and underwater predators swam away from Levin. After swimming back up to the surface he began to swim laps between a pair of large boulders sitting in the water. An hour passed before the Jedi was satisfied with his work out, Levin then swimming calmly back to the shore.
As his feet hit the sand Lev walked slowly to the rock where his clothes were, grabbing his cloth pants first and sliding them on before stretching. He grunted then sighed as the heat in his muscles gently dissipated, the Jedi just about to reach for his other clothes when his attuned senses picked up a presence. Reaching out with the Force, Lev felt out to the tree at the edge of the beach, his sharp gaze roaming over the tree line. He reached out with the Force to his lightsaber, moving it from the pocket in his sleeve so it sat free, all it needed was a quick thought, and the silver cylinder would be in his hands. Levin took a quick breath before saying
"I feel you out there, show yourself."

Ashla was walking to the shore. Tears had been running from her eyes for a while now. Her master had died a slow and painfull death. Corven Vex, the closest thing she had to family. She moved quitly as she could, her presence muted. As she reached the shore she saw a man coming from the water. A jedi healer. The jedi healer who had refused to use any medicine to even ease her masters pain. The disease had ravaged the aged, but still powerfull man. Reduced him to a mere shell of his former powerfull self.
She stepped from behind the tree she had been watching the jedi from. She tossed aside her trench coat, and walked slowly toward the jedi. She was normaly a calm person. Normaly she didnt get angry. People died. there was nothing that could be done about it. But that was different. Corvan had been the only family she had.
She eyed the Jedi as she stopped a few feet from him. Her bark blue eyes bored into his. She didnt say anything to him. He didnt deserve her words. He had let an old man die a slow and painfull death. She was going to make him pay.
Ashla was dressed in tight fitting black leather. Her arms where bare, the points of her boot were covered in some sort of metal, and her hands were encased in combat gloves. On her belt hung a lightsaber, and a katana like blade. It was to this blade her hand flashed. She drew it from its well oiled sheath and rushed right in at him. She lept into the air, swinging the blade for Levin's shoulder. She was going to love the look on his face when his lightsaber doest cleave her sword in half.
(sorry, fell asleep reading to the girls last night. And does this count as a round or just the opening scene?)

{OoC:Uh kiala, Lev wouldn't let anyone suffer at all- his +9 alignment ain't for show Keep that in mind ;D} Lev wasted no time- the whispers of the Force telling him to draw his weapon the minute this girl appeared. The uniform handle flew from the coat's sleeve into Levin's awaiting hand just as the girl leaped at him. He sensed anger, pain, heavy loss. This was the Force sensitive girl he had seen earlier at the hospital, the one who's friend died. Levin accepted her fury, but didn't let it get to him. Yes, he had forgone medicine- it was a lesser form of healing, he had used his own presence in the Force to try and keep the man comfortable, nearly exhausting the healer as he stood by that man's bed for hours. If she was out to kill him, she would be sorely mistaken, however, he would not strike her down. Instead, with a sharp Snap-hiss! his light silver lightsaber blade erupted from the hilt. With a one-handed strike, Levin kept his eyes on the girl, batting her attack aside, but not before he moved. With a jutting thrust, he shoved his free hand forward, an intense sudden bright light blossoming instantly right in front of the girl's face. Force Blinding was one of Levin's finest skills, and would surely blind the girl for several moments. With smooth footwork Levin backtracked, his lightsaber held next to his face, his right arm forming a right angle as he stood at the ready. He had hoped that this would deter the girl, from the look of it, she was young, brash- and thus, wouldn't prove to be a threat. Instead of try to attack the girl, he reached out with the Force, letting his presence touch hers- feelings of relaxation and soothing thoughts rolling off of him, trying to make the girl calmer.

Ashla stumbled back from the blinding light, blinking her eyes repeatedly. She mutered a few choice curses in three different languages. Basic, Tagrutie, and Zabrak. She looked toward where he had last been, but she couldent see a thing. She closed her eye's tightly and focused on this mans force presence. Even his lightsaber.
She turned to face him squarely, and took a ready stance. One hand held forward palm out, and the other holding the balde of her wan-shen in a reverse grip behind her body. She was about to make her attack when she felt a calming wave wash over her. She didnt want to be calm, but this man was good. Unfortunatley for him, She was more dangerous when calm. She had drawn her blade, and must now draw his blood.
She rushed in at the man with her eye's still closed as she uses the force to target her oponant. She leeps into the air, spinning her entire body and bringing her sword about in that back handed grip. It misses him narrowly. For it was not her true attack. Her right leg comes back aroud right at jaw level.

Levin was surprised to see the woman charge at him with her eyes closed, perhaps she had more training than he had felt. She charged at him, his sharp green eyes never leaving her as she ran full tilt at him. She leaped high and spun, her blade spinning right towards him. He dodged, the blade singing right past his body, his eyes turning to the glinting weapon, but this was a feint he realized a little too late. Teeth clacked together as her roundhouse kick hit him straight in his square jaw, the Jedi tasting copper as he bit his tongue from the impact. Spinning away himself he ran his tongue over his teeth, trying to gather as much blood as he could before spitting red into the sand.
The girl was dangerous, this much he now knew, even blinded, she was skilled. And by now, her vision should return to normal. He his gaze to her, but as he did, his left hand moved to hover over his face for a second, a soft white light touching his face as he healed his wound. Flesh wove back together on his tongue, the small wound healing in seconds. Even though her presence was calmer, this woman was fighting using her hate, her aggression, she was no different than those that preyed on the weak using the Darkness, and Levin would not suffer a dark one to live. He snapped his lightsaber forward to point at the girl, drawing upon the Force with a deep breath, he began to speak.
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great will and furious might on those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Light when I lay my judgment upon thee…"
And with that, he began his attack, his footwork fast and swift, the Jedi darted to the left and right, weaving an uneven path before lunging forward with the blade, an attack that would be easily blocked. But at the last second a simple turn of the wrist would let the blade spin back in time for him to swing the blade to the right, but once more, what would be an easily blocked attack was nothing more than a feint. The lightsaber ticked to the left just as Levin shoved his free hand forward, that old friend the Light exploding from his palm, the bright white probably blinding the girl was more as he swung his lightsaber low from the left, an attack that if struck, would nick her thigh, and hopefully slow her down.
Levin sidestepped away from the girl, eyes never leaving her small frame as he gracefully spun and leaped away from her, lightsaber held down as he stood sideways, a Makashi starting form. It was rare for him to use Makashi on its own, but sometimes, dangerous types needed to be smote with righteous fury and great might. He watched, awaiting her next attack, bouncing from his left foot to his right foot, ready to continue this clash.

She stood back and listened to the Jedi. Her eyes were open once again, and her midnight blue eyes bore into his bright green eyes. She listened to what he said and couldnt help but smile at some distant memory.
"I am Matukai Adept , Ashla Drexdrell. Ironic that you acuse me of being of the darkside. Especialy, when you look at the anciant jedi transcripts and my very name, 'Ashla' was once the name given to the Lightside. Look Jedi and see there is no longer darkness in my heart. You have calmed my anger. You ask yourself then, Why do I attack. The reason is simple. The purose of a blade is to spill blood, and there for once it leaves the confines of its shieth...I must use it as it is ment to me used. For the spilling of blood."
The jedi had finaly gone on the offesnsive. About karken time. She wasnt truly angry anymore. He had calmed that in her. Now this seemed more about working out her frustarations. Her attack had caught him off guard. It was intended too. How many people charge a jedi head on. Heck, how many were foolish enough to do so. Ashla however, had never been one to be foolish. Until now ofcourse.
She was suprised that this healer had some actual skill in combat. She parried his first two attcks, then he thust his hand out in that same motion as before. She quickly closed her eyes and spun away, but not before his lightsaber caught her through her thigh. She lept away and growled through the pain as she landed several feet away. Ashla then let the force flow through her body to seal the wound and numb the pain. Ashla then reached behind her back and pulled somthing free. It appeared to be three, foot long segmants connected by some sort of wire. With a quick spin they snapped together forming a staff.
With another swift and practiced move Ashla attached what seemed to have beeen no more than a sword to the staff, giving her a pole arm that reached well over six feet in height. She rushed back in on the jedi. Her wan-shen whirling around her body, and from hand to hand with relative ease. Her attacks came from all sides. She was akin to a whilwind. Her blow's seemed to carry more weight than her slight frame would sugest. Thus was her strength within the force.
She spun her wan-shen up, and across, aiming for his torso, then used the momentum to bring it above her head, and spun it so she could come straight down with the butt of the weapon. She then spun the shaft in her hand so that the blade came down from the same angle as the weighted end of her wan-shen. She flipped backwards from Levin, and resumed a stance similiar to the one she had held before. Feet evenly spaced, one hand held forward, palm facing outward with her thumb tucked tightly against her palm. The other holding her wan-shen behind her back, horozantaly.

Levin listened with wary to the girl as she spoke, twisted, deceitful words. She did not see the very darkness that lay within her, she saw it as a way of life, but for one to be so close minded, was to invite darkness. And so, these words did not fall on righteous ears, instead, Lev realized that this woman wouldn't hear reason, if it was blood spilled she wanted, then she would be sorely disappointed.
"And so it begins."
Calling the Force to him, he closed his eyes as she began to run at him. Like an old friend at his back, the Light filled him, almost to the point where it looked as if his very aura was glowing white. The Jedi let the Force work through him, but didn't budge. Most of the wan-shen strikes hit home, wounds spitting blood as they opened, but his right hand still gripping his lightsaber, he would use his strength and speed to knock away any potentially fatal attacks, the lightsaber sending small sparks off the weapons when they collided. After Ashla's attacks stopped, and she leaped back away from him, silver rimmed eyes opened calmly to first look at her, and then down at the bloody wounds on his arms and torso. Nothing more than flesh deep, it seemed the Force was indeed with Levin today.
With a deep breath, he locked eyes with the woman, focusing with the Force on his own body, mapping out the wounds in mere seconds before they slowly wove flesh back together, the wounds sealing themselves as if a zipper had been closed. A few more hairline scars were added to the man's body, the final wounds finished sealing as he exhaled slowly. The damage that was just done to him had been completely healed, the only traces of the attack were the blood stains on his body. He would have to take another dip after this.
"You cannot harm me."
Stated Levin simply. It wasn't a mocking tone, nor a prideful one, but this was fact. Any wound she could part unto him, he would be able to heal. Many doubted the fighting prowess of the Jedi Healers, but when one can even heal a wound of a lightsaber, it made them a formidable opponent indeed. Snapping his lightsaber into the Makashi ready stance once more, he lunged forward. The silver blade hummed in the air like an angry wasp, but this was the quieter setting of the blade, still at shoto length. With a simple thought, the lightsaber made a louder hum and expanded to double its size, the length of a normal lightsaber blade now.
He swung the blade left then right rapidly, the weapon cutting the air with a hiss as it swung at the girl. He spun and jabbed the weapon a few times down around her waist and thighs, aiming low. But this was to get her distracted from his real attack. Levin spun back around so his back was towards her, but not before jumping back, letting the Force take him as he rose his weapon. With a sharp breath he drew in as much of the Force as he could to dull pain as he suddenly stabbed. But this attack would not strike Ashla right away, the lightsaber stabbed clean through the meat between Lev's shoulder and torso, the blade hissing as it went through. If the Force was with him, this would catch the girl very much off guard, and score a torso hit.
Jumping away a second after, Lev deactivated his weapon and poured the Force into the hole in his body, reactivating the weapon in time to land a few yards away from Ashla, weapon in a Makashi ready stance as the lightsaber would healed fully, leaving a small, pocked scar now and nothing more. Not many would see this sort of attack, and was one of the Jedi's most formidable skills.

Ashla had spilled blood. By her personal code of conduct, her rules of engagement, she could disengage. She had every intentiont to. But The jedi seemed to have other plans. She watched in mild interest as his wounds healed. She sensed he would continue his attack, so she remained ready.
When he attacked she was ready for him. She blocked his attacks. It seemed far to easy to her. Then he turned his back and lept back toward her. It had almost caught her completely off guard. Almsot. When his lightsaber came through his own back she leaned straight back, to the side. Instead of running her completelyt through, it caught her through her left arm.
She lept away and focused the force on the wound. She was not anywhere near this mans level of skill at healing, but she could atleast partialy close the wound, and numb the pain. She eye'd the man with a whole new level of respect. She calmly started to stalk him again. She was very impressed with this man....but she had drawn blood. She removed the blade of her wan-shen as she stalked him, and slid it back into its shieth. She kept the staff in her hands though.
She rushed back in on him, using the staff in a fashion remaniciant of a double bladed lightsaber. Each blow she delivered was directed at a weak point. The shoulders, elbows and knee's. She also attacked with her hands and feet when ever possible. Feet snapped out of the knee's, her hands striking at his wrist and elbow's. She lept into the air with a round house kick, then came back down, spinning her staff for the cheapest, yet most efective blow of all against any man. She waimed the weighted end right for his groin.

Levin wasn't sure why this woman would sheath her weapon, but kept the staff portion of it out. Perhaps she realized her bladed weapon couldn't harm him. Which meant she'd be focusing on using this staff, and more likely than not, her own limbs. Lev had a plan, it was highly experimental for him, but has worked so far, and was excellent as a defense against unarmed fighters. As she began to stalk him, he swung his lightsaber low, the weapon clashing with the sand and showering sparks all around the ground. A couple more swipes in front of him would leave crystalline glass formations in front of the Jedi, the lightsaber's energy glassing the sand.
He reached out and Force pushed the glass, making the formations shatter into thousands of tiny shards. The Jedi closed his eyes and let the Force flow through him, calming himself in preparation for what he was about to do. The thousands of glass shards were swept up by a gust of the Force and was suspended in the air in around him. Then, with a deep breath, the glass shards turned and flew right at Levin, the thousands of shards stabbing skin deep into the Jedi. After they had stuck in him, he focused the Force over his body and healed the wounds that the glass left, leaving his skin covered in glossy shards of razor sharp glass.
"And now, we end this."
Said Levin calmly as the girl turned and ran at him. Lightsaber held in a Makashi ready stance, he deftly blocked any incoming staff attacks with the lightsaber, but let her kicks and hand strikes land on his razor-like skin. Each blow of hers would indeed land and cause a bruise, but in return, the glass would shred her skin, and break off into tiny shards into her muscles and tendons- a debilitating measure indeed. It was her final strike that would make up his mind, the strike towards his groin was a low blow indeed. His hand snapped down to catch the weapon, his eyes staring sternly at this Matukai. One who fought dirty, was one to be removed.
But the time for simple defense was over, Levin would not suffer a dark one to live. Still holding onto the weapon he sidestepped back and pulled the weapon towards himself, aiming a pommel strike at the Matukai's face. He then spun and let go of the weapon, aiming a jab at her right knee before jumping back. Once more his lightsaber was swung into the sand, the glass formations showing up once more. He used the Force to break and lift the glass once more, but instead of studding his skin with it again, he Force pushed at the Matukai, the push accompanied by a swarm of glass wasps.
Levin ran just behind the glass shards, weapon held low as it dragged into the sand, leaving a glass trail behind him. This would be it, Levin centered himself and let the Force roar through his body like an open tide- he would swing wide, a powerful blow that if connected, would be a killing strike.

Ashla was impressed with the mans defensive strategy. It would have been very effective if not for one minor detail. Her steel plated combat gloves and boot's. They simply would have driven the shards deeper into the mans body. Though a few did managed to get through the gaps in her gloves. She was also deeply impressed with his skill with the lightsaber. Few had she met that could deflect her attack. As he caught her staff and stopped the perceived low blow, she grinned and left hand would have snapped free and went right for his chin. If the man had not caught the staff it would have missed his groin, and caught his chin.
She blocked his incoming strikes with the palm of her hand. She pushed his hand out wide each time so it would scarcely miss her. He was a excellent duelist, but his hand to hand needed some work it would seem. Still holding onto her staff she lept up and over, her right foot arching out-wards toward his jaw in an attempt to let go.--"Why do you continue this. I have spilled your blood, as you have spilled mine ,there is no further need for this."-- As he lept away so did she--"Do you not fear your weapon?..those that do not fear the weapon they wield have no right to wield a weapon at all"--she tilted her head to the side, her feet spread, the staff of her wan-shen was held on a defensive manner.--"This means, that the one that fears they're weapon, fears taking a life, those that don't fear taking a life, do not respect it, and therefore do not respect the force"
She watched as he repeated the process with the glass. Was he really willing to do more harm to himself? she wondered. Then she felt the force pushing against her. She lept, allowing the force to carry her. As she landed further back then the Jedi would have likely expected. She landed, just a few short seconds before the shards got to her. Her staff spinned all around her. She was a veritable whirlwind of movement. She deflected and dodge many of the shards, but more than a few got through her defense. One punched through her chest like a bullet. She gasped in pain, blood pouring from her chest. She ignored the pain and was waiting for the Jedi. His strike was wide, but surely a killing blow if it landed.
Ashla fell within herself, withing the force that coursed through her veins. She rushed the Jedi head on, she swung her staff out wide to attempt and block the Jedi's attack, and thrust her hand forward in an open palmed strike directed at his chest. She threw the force behind this attack, making it nearly twice as powerful as it would have been by itself. Powerful enough it would shatter bone, and rupture organs.--"I do not fear death Jedi...for I will be one with the Lightside if I die...do you fear it?"

Levin smoothly rolled to the right, dodging the woman's final attack, his lightsaber lancing out as he did. Silver slid into clothing and flesh, right under her armpit, enough to just cut the base of her spine in her neck. A clean, painless kill. He switched his lightsaber off but stepped forward to embrace the woman, his right hand supporting the back of her head while his other arm went under her waste to almost cradle her as he helped lower the Matukai to the ground.
"This, is a good death. The Light awaits all those that atone- may it find you worthy."
As he felt the life in her fade, the healer stood, looking down at her form. She had been a worthy adversary, but an unnecessary one. He let her body lay there, he would give her a proper funeral- a Jedi funeral- but only after he took another dip. With a deep breath he drew the Force into his body, and slowly began to push out the shards of glass that stuck in him, the panes falling and shattering with a wind chime orchestra. His wounds slowly healed as he walked towards the water, diving in as soon as it was deep enough to allow, washing himself of both blood and sweat from the encounter.
