While she doesn't wear robes, or really anything for that matter, a small harness is on her body, to which her training saber and anything else she may need to carry is attached.

Asani was born on the Kushiban home planet of Kushibah to Pritsi and Mirax Nyao. They loved their little girl, but she was not with them long. About a year after her birth, Asani was wandering away from her little village and got lost in the tall grass. A strange man had landed on the planet that day, and came across the small little girl. Seeing her as nothing more then a furry creature, the man managed to trap her. The little girl was too terrified to speak, so he had no idea she was sentient. The man decided to keep the cute little thing as a pet.
For five years she was kept as a pet aboard the man's spaceship. She was treated fairly well, for a pet, but by normal standards it was horrible. She was often kept in a cage, and had to eat and drink from a bowl. The only times she ever seemed to calm down was when the man held her on his lap and pet her. Slowly she got used to this way of life though, knowing no other, and slowly beginning to forget she was even sentient.
One day, her 'owner' was stopped before he could return to the ship. It turned out the man was a smuggler. A Jedi had been sent to bring him in, as he had been eluding capture for many years. The Jedi easily subdued him, then went to check the ship. Asani huddled in fear within her cage as the stranger boarded, her fur changing to yellow. The Jedi happened to take notice of her, and having heard rumors of the strange species, deduced what she was. It took a lot of coaxing, both verbal, and mental, with the force, but Asani finally began to calm enough for the Jedi to take her from her cage. The girl was five now. The Jedi then left, bringing the small furry girl with her to the temple, after handing the smuggler in to the authorities.
It took months, but finally they managed to coax the small girl out of her 'pet' state of mind and helped her to recover her memories of speach and such. They accepted her into the temple as a Youngling, recognizing her Force sensitivity. She trained with the other Younglings, and was even given her own training saber, albeit it was much smaller then the sabers of the other children. She also began to learn simple Martial Arts and force skills. She excelled in telekinetic abilities, compared to the other children her age, and was also good at being able to sense the moods of those around her. More often then not, the young Kushiban wound up a angry puff of red fur when the other younglings, or even the older Jedi called her cute or adorable, though she normally gets along quite well with everyone and seems to make friends easy. She could sometimes be seen sitting on a master's lap as they stroked her velvety fur, something she still finds both calming and relaxing, and thoroughly enjoys it.
