Eye of the North

[Dire Wolf]

The bone chillling wind of Rhen Var swept along the barren tundra of the frozen planet, harsh and hindered only by a few structures and the more numerous mountain ranges that sprouted up from under the thick ice. There was a majestic temple built into the leeward side of the mountain, its great external arches and columns were carved out of the very living rock itself. Within this great temple great artificacts of the Jedi were stored, along with a few of the temple's Jedi minders. Rhissai, however, was not there for artifacts or treasures. None of those would help her and the Blades win the war that the Sith aggressors have started. The raven maned woman and her midnight black companion were there for but one reason: recruitment.

Relics of a time long passed were one thing, but even a single Jedi Knight could mean the difference between a major defeat and a decisive victory. The blades were many, yes, but their numbers were not limitless.... far from it. It had been somewhat challenging to convince the Jedi that called the Rhen Var temple their ward to join with her, but the Force had told her that it was a fact that was subject to change. Quickly. A small trembling of worry threw itself into the woman's mind as those emerald green eyes peered out at the ocean of snow whose waves were driven by the motion of the wind rather than the forces of a stellar sattelite.

A fridgid breeze nipped at her cheeks and caused her nose to turn pink during this seemingly detached session of thought. "Something is wrong. Very wrong," the thought echoed through her mind as if it was shouted inside of an empty room. Those florescent eyes slid closed in an effort to divert her brain's attention from what she saw to what she felt, as every Jedi's extra sensory perception was to be trusted before the sight of their flesh. It took her mind a few moments to fully remove the unconcscious barriers that were designed to stop the sensory information from overwhelming it. After this was accomplished her awareness expanded outwards, like the view one has after a full faced helmet was removed. Yet she could feel nothing but the numbing wind against her face as it blew upwards against the mountain side. Her breathing slowed down considerably and her mind began to focus more on what was within her awareness rather than how far it stretched, wide or tall.

Waves.

But not waves from a wake that something that came by, nor was it from the forces of some stellar object. But rather these echoes were created from what would soon arrive. Like the waves that floated around the bow of a boat as it slowly lurched forward. These waves nearly stole the breath from her very lungs and caused the color of her face to drain into a pale white. They were waves of evil. Rapidly approaching. Gooseflesh appeared below the long fingerless glove that covered her arm up to the shoulder as the malevolent and baleful waves washed over her. It took less than an instant for those mental barriers to be built around her mind once more, protecting it from feeling the evil that the waves preceeded. In even less time than that she found Knight Caelum, the only Jedi to her knowlegde to refuse the position of Master due to religious reasons rather than a feeling of inadequacy. An single mental string winked into existence, binding their minds together for the length of time it would take them to communicate. "Levin! Evil is approaching. Ready the Blades, ready the Jedi."

Her place in this battle was behind the front lines, as it generally was. Even on Aphithir she rarely found herself fighting the enemy face to face. This was not due to cowardice or a sense of superiority when compared to her peers, but rather the rare ability of Battle Meditation that required her to stay as far away from the front lines as possible. It required her to delve so deeply within herself that she could not even allow herself to be aware of the world around her. A small huff exited her lips as she walked inside the somewhat warmer part of the temple that allowed access to the outside summit of the mountain.

The clack of her boots against the hard stone steps echoed throughout the otherwise silent temple as she stepped up to the top level,and allowed her weight to crumple down into a crosslegged sitting position in the center of the room. Her consciousness soon delved deep within its own caverns as her mind expanded outwards so that it encompassed every inch of the temple. The minute that an evil being entered the temple she would focus solely on the art of Battle Meditation. She would inspire and strengthen her Jedi brethren while, at the same time, she would demoralize and weaken this unknown evil with equally unknown ends. One thing was for sure, however, so long as Rhissai drew breath it wouldn't take the temple.

Later...

On the tallest level of the structure atop the summit of the great mountain that housed the Jedi Temple of Rhen Var sat a woman, but not just any woman. Her long raven hair was kept close to her skull, and it splayed out elegantly about itself. A few loose strands hung limply at either flank of her face, and those normally brilliant green eyes were closed lightly in a state of meditation. Though the situation that had been thrust upon her caused the woman's brow to knit together in obvious frustration. Every time that she felt herself on the cusp of falling into the depths of battle meditation, something pushed her back into full awareness. No matter how many times the woman tried, she was thrown out of the state before she even entered it. After hours, or what felt like hours, she simply stopped trying. Fortunate, too, as something flitted about the fringes of her awareness... many men, Jedi Hunters, and all of them were sent to slay her.

“No,” she half mumbled, eyes still closed, “not today.” There was only one way for her to survive the coming storm, and it required becoming the very thing that plagued the cautionary tales of her youth. She had to invoke the Condahar, the blood rage, and accomplish the herculean task of containing the beast. Even if she managed to rein the monster within her subconscious in, it would weaken her ability to use the Force and leave her considerably drained and close to useless afterwards. Not to mention that she'd have to kill to retain control. It something she loathed. A disconcerting thought crawled out from the deep depths of her subconscious mind, one that was born of the most basic instinct: Self preservation. ”Which is preferable, Rhissai? To die, or worse, at the hands of the Jedi Hunters... or to risk temporarily losing control? You know that you cannot contend with so many with part of your mind stowed with a lock and key?” “I run. There is no need to kill them to a man,” she quickly retorted.

Hearty laughter quickly shook the foundations of her mind, followed by a whisper from that insidious partition of her mind. The one that owned anger and rage, the very one that was held with a tight rein almost constantly. The very part that was begging to be set free. “You know that if they live, they will hunt you. If they live, they will hunt others. If they don't die here, they will kill your friends... and those young knights you hold so close to your heart, Rhissai.” A pang of painful realization hit the woman at the beast's reply, which caused her emerald eyes to fly open. She knew in her heart that this necessary evil was just that: necessary. If she ran, or fell, those Jedi Hunters would simply turn their attention to the next Jedi, and to the next, and to the next, and continue until her the numbers of her brethren were few.

Those green eyes in her head closed with a begrudged sense of defeat and self loathing, wanting nothing more than to be somewhere... anywhere else. To be anyone else. To not have this "power", if it could be called such, that her blood bestowed upon her. Rhissai loathingly began to work on shifting her influence from outwards to inwards, from others to herself, and she gently nudged certain parts of her own mind and body into the proper position. The snarling beast that was her anger slammed against its bonds as a result, and bayed for nothing more than to be fully unleashed from its bonds. The Jedi cautiously moved to open the door that she hadn't opened in nearly twenty five years. Fear. Doubt. The two made a strength sapping duo within her mind, and begged her not to unbind the creature that was her anger. They told her that she would become a monster, that she wasn't strong enough to bite back the urge... the lust... for blood, death, and destruction. They implored her.

Rhissai did not heed their warning.

The transformation was slow. A brow that was normally knit with compassion quickly reverted back to a more natural position, thick muscles in her jaw clenched tightly, and her heart quickly began to pump the frightful cocktail of stimulants through her body. The brilliant green in her eyes, hidden by lightly closed eyelids, slowly began to cloud with dark crimson from a few vessels within them releasing a scant amount of blood. The malicious cloud of blood swirled over her the brilliant green in her eyes and covered her pupils, its hue slowly faded and thinned during the reach towards the corner of her eyes. Those eyes, previously a happy green, were then clouded with a deep, bloody red, and the white that surrounded them only served to further call attention to this fact.

An angry serpent materialized within the woman's chest, one that threatened to pop her heart within its pulsing grip if she barred its master's release from within her mind. She could not, she would not, allow the puppet's puppeteer to be fully unbound. Only death, destruction, and pain would follow in her life and the lives of the Jedi under her. Her heart stirred at the serpent's hot touch, and bade her to give into the abyss of her mind.

Rhissai suddenly found herself heeding the overwhelming urge to shoot up from her cross legged position and move towards the Sith bastards that end her life, and the lives of her friends. A meager fifteen man force. She almost spat on the ground at the thought. Those bloody eyes flung open as she flew down the stair case towards the summit-level of the structure, and waited on the edge of her proverbial seat for the squad to find her position. Her vision was veiled with a bloody crimson haze, not that she cared what color her vision was clouded with. Ever. The inner beast of her mind continued to beat, slam, and crash against the loosened bonds that held its form, not amused in the least by her waiting for the enemy. But she focused hard, and didn't allow herself to be overcome by its considerable power. If she allowed herself to become overwhelmed by the deep darkness of her mind, she may not die at the hands of the Jedi hunters, or even the Sith... but perhaps her own allies.

The first man passed the plane of the door with a certain kind of cautious haste, but it he wasn't nearly hasty or cautious enough. A happy roar sounded from deep within the creature's gullet as it watched Rhissai's shin slam into the hollow of the Sith Trooper's neck with just a hint of Force augmented speed and power. Its struggling quelled at the fury of the blow, and after seeing the man's hands shoot up to his throat in obvious agony. The trooper's body crumpled to the ground and he began to writhe like some kind of gasping snake, not knowing or caring that his heart would beat a few more times before the end. Rhissai's fingers yanked White Fang from her belt and ignited mid swing, its silver fury easily seared through the armored man's chest. His flesh was like butter, and his armor may as well have been paper. A Rhissai shaped blurr rounded the corner, and a continuous volley of slugs trailed it... not seeming to be able to keep up with her caruhai and Force enhanced speed.

Rhissai'arckan could feel the energy drain from her with every Force enhanced step, every telekinetic push, and every precognition powered block. She couldn't keep it up forever, she actually doubted that she could keep it up until the end of the battle. She'd have to either give into the rage and its lust for blood, or force herself into unconsciousness. White Fang's silver sun whurred and whizzed with each quick slice as she weaved and dodged through the crowd, each slash and hack producing a bisected heap of man. One man nearly had the black maw of his rifle bearing down on the woman, but she simply threw up a lightning fast kick that caused the rifle to slam into the ceiling. Rhiss proceeded to cast her lightsaber into a semi-close trooper's face before she dug her fingers into her hunter's neck and slipped around to his back . She took care to hold his esophagus in an iron grasp. He had been in the process of drawing his pistol. She did not check the motion, but rather latched onto his hand and flung it about... from there, she used the Force to whisper the correct moment to force him to pull the trigger. Four more men fell.

Again, the Force told her that the bullets from the remaining Jedi Hunters would pierce her flesh. Yet there was nothing alive in front of her, all of the men either lie in pools of their own blood or looked like pieces of a broken toy thanks to her silver lightsaber. Without hesitation, the aphithiri woman ripped her hostage around just as the Hunters unleashed a salvo of bullets into his armor. His armor blocked most of the supersonic pieces of led, though a few managed to slip past its durasteel plating. A feral growl made the Rhissai's vocal chords rumble before she clenched a fist around her hostages throat and ripped that hand outwards in a stunning display of Aphithiri barbarism. At first the resistance of the skin slowed her stimulant and adrenaline powered muscles, but soon the skin gave way... and soon a bloody crimson color washed from the man's neck and onto the silver plates on his chest.

The beast within her heart, her mind, roared in satisfaction at the glance of bloody crimson on her gauntlet, and howled with delight as she used the Force to throw the rapidly dieing Sith into his comrades. A massive roar rushed out of the woman's throat as she charged towards the remnants of the Jedi Hunters shortly before White Fang slapped against the soft flesh of her palm. It seemed that the one of the three remaining Jedi Hunters saw bloody veil that hung over their eyes, and did his best to flee from the coming storm of her fury. He was wrong. His comrades fell after two angry swipes, they were half of the men that they used to be. Rhiss' legs kicked off of the ground in a quick lunge that thrust her outstretched arm towards the man. White Fang's controlled argent sun slid into the back of the man's head. Killing him instantly.

Crimson clouded eyes shifted back over to the carnage that she left in her wake, and the creature within her stirred in delight at what it saw. The woman stood at the edge of the carnage that she'd created, the beast of rage within her mind howling in delight at the blood and body parts strewn about within the hallway. It was delightful, really, especially the way that the blood had stained her armored gloves a deep hue of crimson, and washed down her gauntlet in streaks. Her rage wanted nothing more than for something to vent its fury on, yet it allowed her to stay still. The thing wanted nothing more than to drink in the beautiful sight of its handiwork.

It was pleased.

The darkness that had crashed down upon the mountain swelling and sweeping from one side to the next, peaked at the summit for a breif second before an ominous cracking sound of rubble against pavement torn at the ears of anyone in the area. Smoke and debris scattered the floor, and a small fighter was crunched up in two with the fuselage wrapped around a solid stone column. The cockpit canopy was popped out and across the floor several feet away, and in the shadow cast by a blazing fire , was a man crouched by the opening in the temple through which his fighter just punched through. He was staring down into the crowds below, smirking at the victory that was becoming his own, and that of the sith. Glorious as it was, it only held his attention for a few seconds before more pressing matters returned to his attention and the tight knotted mess he was crouched in straightened up into a fully grown tall muscular man.

He turned on his heel and headed down the hall further into the summit, he could sense what he'd come for. The darkness he'd been trailing, the very essence of hate and anger had slowly trailed off. In the few seconds he had to engage the ejection sequence as he punched the fighter into the temple wall took all his focus. When the canopy had released and he'd rocketed out of the seat, he had unclipped his saber from his belt and freed himself from the pilot's chair sommersaulting down to the floor, and scraping his knee.

Eurachis Looked down at his knee for a second before blinking slightly at the itching pain. His eyes tightened into a very dissaproving look mixed with a narrow curiosity. "Of course... i had to ruin my pants before i got to greet this jedi appropriately."

His playful smirk vanished as he caught a small prick in the force of death nearby. He turned the corner slowly to see a sith strewn across the duracrete bisected by a saber. His hands tightened into fists in his sleeves as his eyes searched the walls and floor for a clue.

Eurachis stopped moving, and jumped backwards two feet just in time to dodge a myriad of rubble spraying all over the place. A jedi stepped through a large hole in the wall which had just been forcefully created at the attempt of catching him offguard. Eyes wandered slowly across the floor and up the jedi's brown robes then down from his face back to his hands, where a saber was clenched between hard gripped fingers. "Sith scum, how dare you come here... I will make sure you come to a swift end!" The jedi charged.

Eurachis wheeled backwards, twirling in a quick motion as he moved, shrugging off his cloak. "I find your haste and anger amusing... yet you still keep the title of jedi. Most backwards of you...Foolish one."

the jedi Lunged left to right, sweeping his saber up in an attempt to sever the head from the neck. Eurachis sidestepped back and dodged a narrow blow to the chest from the tip of the saber as it curled around to make a quick counter. Eurachis rolled backwards depressed that he'd need his saber so early. He sprung to his feet and jumped backwards, tossing two large chunks of debris at the jedi close on his tail. The jedi batted them away with two quick flicks of his saber before chasing after the sith.

Eurachis gripped the wall and turned quickly down the path that lead back to his ship. With a quick burst of speed he moved further down the path, until a push of force knocked him onto his chest. He rolled quickly to the right bringing his saber to bear just in time to block a quick slash to his face. Their sabers locked, the jedi pressing down on the daber as eurachis pushed back up. The wind and cold air filled the room through the huge hole the fighter had formed upon its entry. Sweat poured down Eurachis's brow, as he made a grief filled grimace at the itching in his leg again. "hmm...It was fun" The jedi gave a look of confusion before he quickly loosened his grip on his saber. His hand jumped from his saber to his neck, clawing at it trying to get soe invisible noose out from under his chin.

The jedi slowly floated up into the air as his saber hand dangled wildly swinging. He lashed out trying to cut at eurachis, but it was too late. Eurachis flung the jedi out the side of the building and watched him fall to his doom down the side to the sith waiting like dogs down below. The dark man slowly walked back to where he'd come from, picked up his robe by the hole in the corridor and continued on past. "No one talks anymore.... it's always kill first ask questions later... people are so challenged, specially these jedi folk..." Eurachis stared down at his knee and leg, urging to itch it again. "Kriffing leg...."

He itched it, exhaled a huge sigh of relief then continued further down the hall.

The horridly sour sense of death covered the hall before him. He could taste it on his lips... feel the dark nipping at his ears. His fingertips tensed with cold fear as he embraced the dark creature that lay in the next room. It's malice dwarfed his own wash of uneasyness, and his eyes searched quickly for the source. He turned another corner, hand tight on his saber as he came to a dead end with a door. A quick puff of air as the door wisked open into a dim room....

His eyes widened dramatically as they looked upon the carnage that lay piled around the woman in the center of the room. Her hand and gauntlet was bloodied with the essence of a man laying on the floor. He looked at her figure, as it seemed to remind him of someone he knew... the hair and all. He'd felt this person when he first arrived on Rhen Var, it felt unusual yet it was something he recognized. It was warm yet cold to the touch, and it seemed to almost recognize him once he entered the room as well.

He looked around the room, yet he noted she was still a jedi, and wore jedi robes. Why was a jedi at the summit and why was she killing people in such a dark way that was most unorthodox? He was very confused, but this individual had just butchered these men, men that were sith no less. He didn't care so much about the dead soldiers allegiance as much as he cared about their job. From their armor, gear and weapons, they seemed to be hunters. Jedi hunters. They were no match for this beast.

He stepped to the right and circled about the room, peering out the window below, thinking to himself before he finally addressed this person.

"Someone having a bad day? seems like one of us... is a rather naughty jedi." he smirked out the window and continued to walk around the room, never looking at the woman, and then it hit him like a brick wall. Her posture had been the defining factor. He recalled seeing that battle stance, and he definitely recognized the dark hair and saber. He made a long drawn out sigh before stopping at a picture on the wall, examining a few droplets of blood that had spattered the background of the photo.

"Why are you here...Rhissai. Better yet, why haven't you left you foolish woman." He said the words harshly and commanding, as if spitting down upon her with no emotion at all.

A pair of baleful eyes swept over the horror that the beast deep within their wielder's heart wrought. A wide, toothy grin beamed across the woman's face as the beast saw the way that the soldiers were strewn about like a pile of broken children's toys. At least the first few. Limbs lie tangled with bodies that weren't their own, and their bodies held stumps were an arm was supposed to be. Another corpse lie in the position of pain, the source of which was plainly obvious as the dead man's hands were clutched around a throat that was torn from its neck. That wide, insane, toothy smile opened enough to allow her tongue to slip through the twin guardians of flesh that were her lips. The tongue lightly lapped against the tip of her right gauntlet's finger, the one drenched in the now dead man's blood. Rhissai's fury savored the tang of the crimson liquid mixed with the cold, hard steel, and so it continued onto the next four finger tips.

Some special kind of fetor caused the creature's nostrils to flare and her gauntlet to whip around and slam into the wall as her form whipped around to the entrance of the room. He was here, the one that nearly cost Rhissai her position in the Jedi Order. Though, oddly enough, she still found that she loved him... despite the fact that it was obvious that he was a Sith. Why else would he be there, clashing with a Jedi Master? Certainly not to help her. Ramseye being a Sith only added the fuel to the bonfire that was the rage within the woman's heart, and its heat pulsed within the cage of her chest so deeply that it wouldn't have surprised her if the ice around her body melted with its searing radiance.

Ramseye's distinct scent grew stronger as he entered the room, and fortunately she still had enough control not to turn around, much against the behest of her inner demon. It wanted nothing more than for her to bury White Fang's silver blade deep into her former love's chest. Nothing more than to howl in delight as blood welled from his body like water from a leaking hose. Rams' chiding of her actions didn't help the beasts anger, and it wa blatantly obvious that it threatened to overcome her as the thin skin over her knuckles flushed white. The muscles of her jaw flexed tightly, though either side of her face was flanked by an impenetrable wall of black hair that flowed down to her waist.

His final, harsh comment towards her was the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. Without a single noise, Rhissai's armored form turned about to face him. Blood red eyes glared at the Sith that now stood before her, and the only real sound to come from her was a light snarl. Yes, she was angry, and at that moment her presence in the universe was dedicated to one thing: killing. By the nine, why would she leave while there were so many enemies to slay? Foolish man. Even so, she had enough of a mind to allow White Fang's argent star to retreat back into its metallic hilt.

Without warning, the woman's form turned into little more than a blur as she augmented her already enhanced speed with the Force. Her swift attack was mirrored by a deafening telepathic roar of fury, anger, and emotional pain, one that mirrored the medley that was stirred into the cauldron of her mind. Contrary to what one would feel after the telepathic roar's mental assault, it was designed to briefly stun and disorient, though the duration (and severity) of its effects were determined solely by how powerfully the victim could control their own mind's barriers and focus. Her hand would pull the lightsaber back to its opposite shoulder, still deactivated, and shoot forward in a lightning fast sweep as her target came within range. Only until the lightsaber's blade would barely touch the man (had it been activated) would she flip the ignition switch, and hopefully send the lightsaber's blade searing through Ramseye's chest.

Her beast was out for blood, and she would have it. Be it his, or hers...

Eurachis breathed deeply as he stared into blood red ruby eyes, that cut like razors through his flesh. His hand trembled as his heart lurched, feeling the madness that Rhissai had succumbed to. Hands moved slowly out in front of him, in a welcoming fashion to ask for her hand. His eyes screamed at her, yelling in agony over the fact that she stood before him, contorted in a way that meant she was going to fight. Her body bathed in blood and sweat, hair slicked toher face, mouth ajar and snarling in anger she looked upon him with rage. So much Rage he could do nothing but back away and stare down at her feet. Facing her hit him harder then a rancor, and the pain lingered longer then a saber wound.

"Dont... don't do this Rhissai"

All jokes were said and gone, he was being serious now... lowering his guise of solid to the core. She made him weak, and as usual, he buried himself into a corner of his mind, alone and sad. He retracted his hand seeing it was of no use. He turned to stare quietly at the cracks and holes in the room they were standing in, feeling the old wind cut deep into him and chill his bones. He felt it flow all around them, up over the stubble on his face and down his back. He clenched in his hands something he'd carried with him for quite along time.... a piece of debris from a space station where he'd first me this wondrous woman. To think that the same woman lay before him in this knotted mess of blood and muscle, was to know madness. Such a calm and pure creature shouldn't be like this. He pushed back the urge to vomit as he think about his choices... there we very few of them.

"Rhissai... jezza, please calm down. You need to leave, you cannot be here. Don't you get it. This planet is lost to the Jedi, the Sith are swarming everywhere, this is a losing battle. If you stay you will die. Don't do this to me."

She didn't seem to listen to him. she was suddenly twisted up and seemed to be focusing on him, already preparing to attack. He'd have to snap her out of it, or die trying, he didn't think he'd be able to strike her down, especially after the history they had made together.

It was an emotion he understood, but knew he needed to displace. He was a Dark Lord of the Sith, no longer Ramseye Novok, the one she'd once loved. No,he was Darth Eurachis, and he needed to act like it.

he felt a dark cloud sweep over him dragging him back to his responsibility, to his position, his rank... his job. He needed to take this planet, and to do so Rhissai needed to die. Anger started to creep into his voice now as he turned back to stare at her malicious eyes. He stared with disgust. His fists furled into a ball as he imagined choking the woman causing him so much trouble.

"I'm only going to say this once... If you don't leave, i will have to kill you. Rhissai' Arckan, I love you, but i will not subject you to the torture of the Sith order, nor will I allow you to turn the tide of this battle. This will end here and now. Leave, or die by my hand, my love."

She'd already made her choice, she roared loudly, a force enhanced screech that normally would have temporarily stunted his movement and vision, however, in her current state of madness she was not as clean and disciplined with the force. The roar instead felt like a punch to the face, which he took in stride gritting his teeth in pain as he stared at her lunge. She rushed him, enhancing herself with the force propelling her quickly towards him.

from her shoulder downwards she switched to a sweeping strike in an attempt to cleave him in two, waiting to ignite the saber until it would guarantee a hit so as to not be blocked by another saber. Normally he'd have smiled... Eurachis loved a good fight, and she was definitely a great fighter, but he was accustomed to using the exact same technique with his saber staff.

He spun in a circle wheeling about towards the nearest wall, using his hand to summon forth a wave of energy. He slammed his hand upwards in a quick jerking motion creating a wave of force where she was moving towards. A tsunami of energy would swell up and push from beneath her legs rocketing towards the ceiling. With her loose footing from running at such speeds, he hoped this wave would carry her up into the cieling and knock some sense into her. incase of failure he leaped sideways back towards the dead bodies on the floor and turned to face her, saber hilt in hand, not ignited.

The ribbons of blood that swirled over Rhissai's eyes coupled with the downright evil expression on her face gave her the appearance of a feral wolf as it prepared to pounce on its prey. During Ramseye's speech, and emotional offer, her face held that feral countenance. For the moment, her mind was her own, but she simply couldn't fight off the lust for bloodshed and violence for as long as she would've liked. Talking would have shifted focus from keeping her mind afloat in the sea of madness, and caused it to slip beneath the surface. 

The malevolent expression in her face shifted to a half snarl when White Fang's angry silver blade only sizzled through the air where Ramseye had been. Angry crimson eyes burned at the long haired Sith as he completed his evading maneuver, and threw his hands up in the air. The air beneath and around her feet solidified at the Sith's command, and lifted her up into the ceiling.

Hard.

Angry roared in her heart anew, causing her vision to shift from a bright red tint to an opaque boiling red that assaulted at her mind. Her chest felt like it would explode with the wave of heat and pressure that had flared up within it. Rhissai did her best to stem the tide of white hot fury that flowed from her chest and into her mind, and made her blood boil in the agony of power that her elevated anger level brought.

Rhiss could see only one thing: Ramseye. His black-clad muscular and masculine form was perfectly defined against the bright crimson of her vision, and every detail was shone in perfect clarity. The aphithiri woman tucked her legs in tight as she fell, and threw them out once she hit the ground. Her shoto was drawn and ignited in a flash of icy blue that was tough to see against the ice encrusted stone of the temple. Rhissai hurled the shoto and let a quick flurry of horizontal swipes at his legs. The first was aimed at his shin, then his knee, and finally his upper thigh.

"I see, you lack the capacity to reason.."

The wind chilled past his face as the few cracks in the wall let the cold air through. The tightly held saber snapped to life as the hiss of the crimson blade rung out in despair and slashed through the air burning in all of its red glory. The sound of metal screeching against metal filled the room as a shoto flew hard, downwards and fast, clanging against the marble flooring. Red eyes shimmered at the light as the blade remained on rolling to a stop against on of the bodies on the floor it came into contact with.

Eyes darted down to black padded pant legs surrounded by a cloth robe hanging from a belt. Ears listened quickly as a grunt followed the clanging of metal as The fiery woman moved quickly to launch a barrage of attacks. Eurachis's Jaw clenched tight as he looked in anger at her persistence. He knew in a flash of an eye he could have bent he wrist and swirled the blade down pendulum on its motion pattern and clipped her legs right off of her body. The thought raced through his mind at lightning speed. If she had no leg she would be easily dealt with. He watched as the leg crossed the distance to his shin and thigh, he didn't even move, he simply stared with his ruby eyes into her bloody face. And then the foot connected, and pain and anguish shot through him like water running down a metal slope, spilling into a sewer grate like the pain shattered among his nerves.

Wind flew past him as the mans hardened body plummeted to the ground. The marble came up to meet him, as a tight jaw and nose exploded in blood at impact. He bellowed loudly in horrific anger, with such a forceful pitch that the sheer anger behind it backed by the force of his hatred and strength tore at the structure rupturing the walls around the room. Parts of the ceiling caved in and swallowed up the bodies in the back of the room, hiding beneath the rubble a shoto clinging to life on the marble.

"You Fu-----AHHHH" Rubble landed on his shoulder compacting onto more rubble, rocking against the bone. He elbow slammed sideways off the ground into a body next to him, it was hers, he hadn't known where he hit, but no doubt existed in his mind that the grunt was hers.

Tight hands closed around a Saber hilt, it was long, longer then usual.... it had to be his. She didn't use Dual sided sabers. He curled a finger around a pointy tip at the mouth of the hilt, and felt the ridges curve in and out. It was definitely his. Lips Spit up blood as he coughed angrily thrust his shoulder hard flinging the heavy rubble off of him like it was nothing.

"Pathetic Bitc--" he bit his lip hard as he looked sideways at her from his stretched position "kriffing woman, I cannot allow you to breath the same air as me. YOU......HAVE BETRAYED ME! No longer will i reason with you wench... NO LONGER WILL I LET YOU LIVE." He screamed at her, slamming his hands against his chest in anguish.

With complete malice in his mind and his eyes he pulled with the force, creating a tsunami of energy behind her, and let it lap over her with such anger, tugging her in one big pull to him. With a knee, he propped himself up to catch her with a fist, slugging it straight toward her gut. With hands showered in both his and her blood, he sent her in a throw, releasing clenched hands on her robes, twisting in the air towards a weakened and cracked wall.

Hands slowly tugged on the saber and pulled it to his chest as he twisted his torso and rolled over to the side springing up from the ground and then running the way he had sent her. The wall to his right was already shattered and showed signs of a balcony overlooking the courtyard below. He guessed each of the other two outer walls had balconies as well.

A flash of light blared into his eyes as the sun met him straight on the closer he followed behind her. Saber at the ready he twirled it to the side and prepared to make a sweeping strike for her arm, that would no longer trouble him for the duration of this fight, he would see to that himself.

Anger had consumed him as well, but this anger was not that of pure rage, this was distraught feelings, pain brought on by the betrayal of a women he trusted most. a person he'd confided everything to in the past years... shared memories in the darkest of nights. Thoughts that had been filled with love, feeling that made his chest swell, were shattered by her insolence. Her mere glare was like a blaring loud siren in his ear at the brink of dawn. He remembered her touch, the tips of her fingers caressing his chest under stormy skies... but that was nothing to her. This poisonous, fickle wench thought only of one thing. That was herself and her hate for the darkside.

He had not chosen to be on a side, he had not chosen to work for a faction, he'd wanted the power to change his world, to help his sister survive and to restore balance to his homeworld, perhaps all worlds. And he had achieved that, more so now then by diplomatic means. The jedi knew nothing of his struggle.... and she dared to spit in his face for believing in a more expedited method of power, of existence. The audacity she showed, for this, she would pay. The bloodbath was just getting started... No one stabbed him in the back and got away with it... and she would not be an exception.

It was only a mere handful of seconds before the attacks continued. Rhissai had come at him with all her might, and there, on that snowy balcony above the courtyard they continued to fight to the death. Their sabers crackled with energy, reverberating and bouncing back and forth as the sheer destructive forces collided time after time. Punch for punch, kick for kick, they pressed the fight. The duel slowly moved its way back into the broken chamber Eurachis had found her in. Parrying, dodging... snapping sideways only to be nicked by the slice of a saber, the fight spiraled faster and faster out of control.

A force punch filled with electrical energy connected with his gut. 2 weezy seconds later, with the company of a gasp for air, The sith swept his blade wildly upwards to stave off another charge. She was strong... but he knew that.

His breathing was shallow as he regained his composure. Rising to his feet, he paced around the room staring at her. Baring his teeth in anger he released a heavy huff and spit a glop of blood from his mouth onto the floor. His heart slowed, as he narrowed his eyes to stare at the woman, stopping his pacing and clenching a fist around the saber hilt.

Eurachis closed his eyes, inhaling deeply as he straightened his stance, allowing the force to run through him like a body of water bursting through a dam. Neck muscles contract and relax, as he cocks the head to one side then the other, releasing some of the built tension as slight cracking and popping sounds echo off the walls.

Silence...

Only blaster fire and the feint hum of sabers clanging against each other in the distance could be heard. The cold breeze had stopped... the wind had stopped. Like a symphony of destruction, dark man tilted his head upwards, letting the savory sounds of jedi dieing in mass fill him with strength.

How nice it felt to win, to succeed in the face of fools who still stuck to antiquated traditions. This war may have just begun, but the inability for the jedi to unify would be their downfall.

Eyes empty and dark like space blinked at the jedi leader in front of him. No longer did he see her as Rhissai.. no longer did she have a name. He'd already visualized the kill. He'd watched how it would happen, and he could feel his muscles tensing in anticipation.... and then there was a crunch, as he stepped quickly on snow, vaulting toward her.

Even with all her anger, she didn't possess the control or the discipline to channel the rage within her into a finely tuned weapon. He locked sabers with her again, muscles twitching in preparation. His knee swung forward blocking off the ability for her to fully extend a leg to kick, and then, with a sharp slam of his shoulder, he rushed her into a wall, slamming her back and then her head in turn hard against the slate.

Eurachis pulled back slowly allowing her to slide down the wall into a leaning position. A knee to the chest quickly followed before he stepped backwards to bring about his saber for the kill. Pointing the glowing crimson blade at the face of the woman he once loved, he took one final slow breath, in... then out.

"Such a waste, you truly were magnificent. Good bye.. Rhissai..."

He pulled the blade back slowly and closed off his emotions as he prepared to end her life.

After the overall success of the mission he led in space, the Jedi would now be able to escape off world. With The Venadon destroyed, Vreem had ordered Admiral Yulen to change priorities. He hadn’t known the state of the ground battle but even with their reinforcements there was no certainty in which fleet would best they other should they try and win this battle, he expected the same could be said of the surface. Rhen Var was not worth losing so much life for. They had to evacuate the Jedi who remained in the temple and then get the hell out of there.

Since landing upon the planet he had engaged several of these Sith within the temple. It was not so long ago that he stood within the Council Chambers, warning that the Sith had returned, much to the disbelief of many of his peers. Now he stood within the sacred halls of a Jedi Temple, surrounded by corpses of his fellow Jedi who had been cut down by these non-existent foes. It seemed as though they were simply here to slaughter. No doubt they would have succeeded if the Blades, as they had become labelled, hadn’t turned up to assist.

He could sense that there were a number of fairly strong Sith present. But none nearly anywhere as powerful as the Sith he could sense at the very pinnacle of the temple. He could sense Rhissai battling against this brutish dark side presence and so tried to make his way to assist her. The powerful shockwaves he could feel through the force seemed as though they were going to break through the temple’s wall and force them to crumble into dust. It had been a long while since Vreem had come across such strength in the dark side. It seemed like these Sith truly had some power within their ranks. Perhaps this was their leader, the person who had brought about their return. Then perhaps there was a chance to end this all before it could get any worse. If Vreem could sever the head then perhaps the growing serpent would be stopped in its tracks. He would have to find out what he could.

He told the Jedi he came across to begin evacuating as soon as the support troops and transport ships arrived. At the same time he headed further and further up the temple until eventually it seemed as though there were no more Sith between him and the battle above. As he ran through the corridors he noted that his breath was becoming laboured now, his body was beginning to tire. That was to be expected from the events so far, storming a large space ship and then fighting his way through a battle. But still, he would be in a situation to help Rhissai rather than hinder her. And if needs be he could siphon some energy from an attack if the opportunity appeared.

The clashing of power fluctuated as Vreem approached the two battling opponents. Using his speed, one of his greatest assets, the Jedi Lord raced through the temple at a frightening rate. But as he ran down that final corridor, through the arching doorway he could see a man standing over what seemed to be the body of Rhissai. He recalled the image from his vision, and the thought once again chilled his body more than the ice could ever dream to. This was the moment he had fought so desperately to avoid. If Rhissai were to die here Vreem would forever blame himself.

He burst into the room at an intense speed, and as he moved closer to the body of Rhissai he sent a current of power surging through his left arm. His sharp gaze was focused upon the large figure as Vreem thrust his arm forward, lightning crashing from his fingertips, directed at the Sith’s back. The Jedi Master needed to get himself between this man and Rhissai. If, after the burst of lightning, this Sith was foolish enough to stand in place, Vreem would slice his spine into pieces.

With an icy cold hate, the dark man swung his blade down in what one could only assume would end with a Fatality. The speed and the strength, cushioned only by the sheer practice the man possessed with a blade, led it straight and true. Or so it seemed.... until in a blur of motion and color, the red blade waved to the side off course and swung full length, continuing a circular route and batting down against an intensly powerful burst of electricity. The full brunt of the shock as it crashed forth like a wave into his saber pushed him back a step as the dark lord struggled with the surpise from behind.

A second sluggishly passed by, as Eurachis stared past the lightning and bore into the caster, glaring at someone who dared to interrupt him in the climax of the entire situation. The audacity!

Darth Eurachis shived to the side, whipping the blade upwards towards the already weak ceiling. Jaunting down and to the left he sent the lightning careening into the marble above them. The blade twisted and spun in the dark lords grip as he clenched his jaw tight making an effort to keep down his rage, and let the control and discipline which he'd mastered successfully step in.

Like water seizing up and freezing at the icy winds of Rhen var, the calm and collected mind returned and the surpise faded. Slowly Eurachis's neck bent from left to right cracking and popping the joints, loudly. His tongue smacked against the inside of his mouth as he licked his lips and cleared his throat, tightening his grasp on the saber he held out infront of him as he stared at this jedi. Eyes narrowed and focused, squinting almost to make out the face.

After he had gathered what he could visually, Eurachis stretched his mind's eye, plucking at thin air trying to find a trace of where this individual stood in comparison to him. He payed no attention to subduing his own power or with trying to flaunt it with words. Instead he simply stared at the man, studying him, analyzing him. If the jedi was strong enough to send forth a shock like before, he wasn't one to be ignored.

"and you are?.... i'd say 'foolish', for coming here. But I'm bad with names... However, I'm good with faces. But your face, unfortunately, i dont recall.. Therefore you're either so unimportant you would never have crossed my path, or you've done such a good job up till now hiding yourself from me that it's almost intriguing."
Eurachis relaxed and restored his normal lazy composure, lowering his saber and turning it off as he began to circle back around the room to the other side watching him. Though every once in a while he would shoot a glance over to Rhissai. She seemed dead enough, or atleast close enough to it that without proper treatment she may bleed out from internal injuries or the setting would simply.... drop in uninvited. He eyed the ceiling again monitoring its strength, pursing his lips together as he found himself deep in thought.

Did the jedi hope to engage and defeat Eurachis quickly enough to get Rhissai out alive? or was there another agenda laying beneath that, yet to be exposed, for better or for worse. A wicked grin slowly crept into place on the Dark lord's lips as he stopped in place turning fully to face him head on.

"...and while you now have my interest, I must profess my concern that you've only recently arranged your death...and hers."

His emerald blade radiated with a persistent fervour, almost as if it thirst to cause more pain and spill more blood. Vreem paid little attention to this fact as he looked to his opponent. Sweat had formed upon the Jedi Master’s forehead from the extended battle, the cold and bitter winds were beginning to freeze the small droplets at a quickening rate. The chill this caused upon his flesh was minute compared to the shiver sent streaming down his spine as he glanced to Rhissai in her unconscious state. This Sith was certain not one to be taken lightly.

Returning his vision to the man, Vreem’s grip upon his lightsaber seemed to tighten. The point of his blade traced the man’s movements and the Jedi Lord’s gaze pierced each step. How many lives had he taken already today? Perhaps this would be another to add to the list. War certainly wasn’t what Vreem wanted, but the darkness which resonated within this man served as a reminder of the dangers which were present in the galaxy. To protect Rhissai, to protect the Jedi, to protect the Republic, Vreem would have to take the life of this man, and likely many others.

However, his opponent did not seem to want to rush into a confrontation. For now it seemed as though he was simply using his words, perhaps in an attempt to goad Vreem into making a foolish move. Such a technique was frequently employed by members of the dark side of the force, and often Jedi fell for this trickery, a very cunning craft adopted by the dark soldiers. But as hard as they might try, Vreem had been subject to the poisonous tongue of Grahn in his past and it seemed that there were only buttons that man could press.

This was perhaps a comfortable position for the Sith to be in. Vreem had very little time to talk, Rhissai needed medical attention and it wouldn’t be long until the evacuation vehicles wouldn’t be able to wait for them any longer. Despite all of this there was still something the Jedi Lord could try and gain from this Sith’s desire for conversation, information. It probably wouldn’t be much, and any direct attempt would likely result in a lie, but Vreem doubted this war would be over soon and expanding upon his knowledge of the enemy would be a helpful tool the trying times that were to come. He’d have to play along with this Sith for now.

“I have not been hiding away, perhaps you are simply too blind to see what’s in front of you. I am a member of the Jedi Order, here to rescue those at this temple. You Sith seem quite intent on spilling the blood of those who have chosen to stay out of this war. Instead of facing those who are willing to oppose you it strikes me as cowardly that you would

“I am Vreem Took, Jedi Lord and member of the High Council. Under normal circumstances I would see you out of the temple myself, Sith. As it stands, however, it seems like you have focused a strong portion of your forces to attacking members of the Order who had no intention of involving themselves in this war. I had thought that even you would be above such cowardice.” His eyes remained focused as he responded to the last of this man’s words. “With the special equipment you brought with you, my attempts to rescue members of this temple would have all been for naught. However,” a corner of his mouth curled up slightly into a smile, “I took care of that matter personally. The only thing I have arranged is a way off this planet.”

Vreem paused for a moment, his feet shifting slightly. “Tell me, to be able to take on Master Rhissai you must have some skill, certainly compared to the others of your Order, just who are you exactly?” Vreem readied himself. If the Sith didn’t want to continue this conversation then he would more than likely attack. He had to be prepared.

One step at a time, the Dark lord had circled the room, allowing the jedi to follow in step before stopping opposite of where Rhissai now lay dying. The saber in his hand slid loosely back onto the clip at his waist. Arms crossed smugly as He had stopped to face the jedi, sending prodding eyes maliciously into the man across from him...like daggers they assaulted his mind, attacking his thoughts and laughing insidiously all the while. The cruel manifestation wreathed in darkside energy slammed like a tidal wave aimed solely at the powerful new opponent. If Eurachis could win this fight by merely flinging this man into a twisting tantrum of horror and helplessness then he would try his best. His jaw tightened and his eyes opened wider as he watched the jedi finally close the gap on Rhissai.

The man answered back, insolently. Though the Dark lord didn't expect this man to respect him, nor to fear him. They had only just begun... and he was drunk with the old ways of the Jedi Order. Of course he would immediately take a disliking to someone so steeped in opposing beliefs.

"Like you, she rushed to her death... fraught with overconfidence and brimming with the promise of a brighter tomorrow she engaged me in battle... and failed. And now, on this desolate ice world she will die, and all the jedi you so foolishly brought with you in hopes to rescue her."

After a moment of silence between them he called off the mental attack. Eurachis could feel the blockade of heavy training in this man's mind. Consigned to the inevitable clash of sabers, he breathed in a heavy sigh and shook his head. eying the ceiling one last time he checked its strength

"You destroyed my Interdictor?" Fists tightened with rage. The Darth's eyes closed tightly as he quelled his anger. Slowly the eyes reopened, glazed with a new disdain for the man they looked upon. "Vreem Took....and you are a High Councilor. Rhissai was a High Councilor as well if I am not mistaken. How fortunate of me. As for who am I..."

The dark lord playfully bowed his head, "....I am Darth Eurachis, Dark Lord of the Sith---and I must confess, I do have 'some' skill." A short laugh was followed by a lingering grin. "You see Vreem, we are the evolution...we are the future. Each step forward in evolution, the previous obsolete creatures are completely annihilated. The same fate awaits the jedi and their old traditions. Where we may have fallen short due to in-house violence and lack of discipline, we have grown and evolved; mark my words.... we will not lose again. As such, I extend to you an invitation. Join me, fight by my side in this war... a war with so much inertia behind it neither one of us could stop it. If you stand against me, and the rest of the Sith, you will either fall in battle......" Eurachis looked to Rhissai one last time before returning his gaze back to Vreem Took.

"...Or you will fall from your beliefs...and become that which you have fought against."

Vreem’s emerald blade traced the steps of the Sith, slowly, patiently, ready to respond with lethal precision. He could feel the man’s eyes, just like the Sith’s he had bested upon the interdictor-class ship, the looked down upon him, almost laughing at him with each word. He spoke of overconfidence and yet could not hear his own words. Then he could feel the pressing waves of the Force and Vreem became aware that this Sith was attempting to assault his mind.

But he was no fool, he had maintained his physical and mental guard from the moment he had entered this room. He was not a brand new youngling, just learning the ways of battle; he had his fair share of conflict. He held strong and met the Sith’s gaze, the man’s stance seemed relaxed, but if he could overcome Rhissai then this was not someone he would risk attacking at the expense of potentially giving him an opening. So he met the tidal wave of dark energy with his firmly constructed barrier of the Force, blocking the intrusive energy like a dam.

“Even if I don’t escape this planet, you and those like you will not be able to stop all of the Jedi in this temple from getting away. You may strike me down, but the Jedi and the Blades are more than just me, one way or another, the Sith will be stopped.”

Vreem followed the Sith’s eyes as they looked up, assessing the roof above them. No matter tricks lay up his sleeves, they would be met with resistance until the bitter end. Vreem smiled slightly as news of the interdictor vessel caused this Sith’s blood to boil, if only for a moment. There would not be much time for words soon; he would have to get Rhissai off this planet before they were stranded.

Darth Eurachis, the Jedi Lord thought to himself, Jahn had used a similar title, Darth Veratos. He had claimed ownership of the Sith, but this man before him felt stronger, a Sith such as this would not work under someone weaker. Vreem’s conviction that there was someone else behind the Sith seemed to be supported. But was this man the leader? He certainly possessed strength, having managed to best Rhissai, but that still didn’t mean he sat at the top of the Order.

He went on talking, preaching about the difference in power between dark and light. And then... an invitation? Perhaps he should not have been surprised, it was what those who followed the dark path did, coaxed others to follow them. “You are not speaking to an unknowing child, Eurachis,” he said the name for the first time, a sour taste in his mouth, “I know of the Dark Side, I know of its power.” His introductory burst of lightning had certainly been an indicator of his use of the dark power. “But I would rather choose death.”

“Now, stop gloating about your power and how you can kill me.” Vreem raised his saber and opened himself to the flow of the Force. “Prove it.”

Neck and eyes bent downwards, staring briefly at the ground as a tight fist vibrated with excitement. The answer the jedi had just put forward meant only one thing---it was time to kill. A deep breath entered the lungs of the dark lord, leaving finally after a second of meditation. The head raised slowly until it was level with Vreem's eyes, at which point the breath of hot air exited the Dark lord's body as a smile crept onto his face. A wicked hot grin, and a twisted nose...nostrils flaring with excitement. Hands moved up to Eurachis's shoulders, unclipped the over-cloak, and let it slide down his back crumpling in a pile on the ground behind him.

The smile parted only for a second as the Dark lord took two steps forward, letting the metallic hilt of his weapon slide longingly into his grasp. "If that is your wish, far be it from me to stand between you and your death. Too bad I'll only get to kill you once.."

The blade burst to life, crimson light spilling out from both sides of the hilt, covering the walls as the clouds above them shaded the frenzy that was the battle in the courtyard below. He let the breeze press against him as he moved into his death stance. Once the attack began, he would be unrelenting. The whisper in the wind shrieked for a long moment until it finally died down as the breeze vanished.

His heart thrummed faster and faster, like a drum of war, signaling the coming battle. Faster and faster it beat, with both excitement and fear. His Fight or flight system kicked in, as adrenaline coursed through his blood. His grip tightened, as his legs stretched in preparation for an aggressive vault into action. A shallow breath was quickly inhaled, then fiercely exhaled---

---with that, Darth Eurachis exploded into an attack. His form twisted and spun as it moved forwards, closing the distance quickly between them. The blade hummed as it passed through the cold air, belying its true destination, changing altitude, and direction with each step, twist, and jump. The blade finally whirled to life, screeching for blood, as it rocketed downwards in an overhead swing, cutting diagonally from the shoulder to the waist, with the purpose of cleaving the jedi in half. However, even with the amount of strength he'd put behind it, such an attack could be blocked or dodged. Parrying would most likely fail, but the dark lord made sure to follow the attack with a quick right elbow to side of Vreem's face should a successful block occur. On the other hand, A dodge would require a quick side step from his opponent, and for that Eurachis too, was ready. A quick jerk of his left wrist and the backside of the double-bladed saber could be sent rocketing at a 45 degree angle towards the man's midsection, a very probable, yet blockable, hit... should his opponent try to sidestep.

a decade of training and honing one's skills in combat had prepared him for the best, and the worst. This jedi master may have been good, but Eurachis was better. This was a fight he would not be losing...

His blade was extended before him, his gaze sharp upon the figure of Darth Eurachis. Vreem had opened himself to the Force; it warmed his body upon this frozen rock. The Sith spoke words steeped in confidence and certainty, he was a fool. Soon he would know the truth, he would know it when Vreem tore through his gut and walked away from the fight the victor.

The fact Rhissai had been defeated was an important one, it meant there was power and skill within his opponent. It also meant he would be have been worn down by the Jedi Master, and that he was feeling more confident in his success. Vreem was no idiot, he knew that this would still be a challenge, but he couldn’t fall here, not at the very first hurdle.

As the man ignited his lightsaber, Vreem readied himself for the attack. The man twisted and turned, moved with a technical precision that took years to master, then he leapt towards the Jedi Lord with the red blade poised to burn him through. With the strength of Makashi in his mind, Vreem knew he would not be able to block or effectively parry such a strong attack. But he had speed. A risky manoeuvre would be to move into the attack, strike before the blade came, catching the exposed body of his opponent. But that was too much of a risk; the likelihood was that he would still be caught by the attack. So instead he held his blade steady and paced backwards upon the balls of his feet, evading the powerful sweeping blade.

He used the Force to quicken the movements of his legs and feet, he needed to avoid the attack and move in before his aggressor had the opportunity to launch a flurry of attacks at him. But as he moved closer to Eurachis, the Sith threw another strike at him with the now ignited bladed of his double bladed lightsaber. Already moving into range, Vreem had no choice but to firmly raise a block against the attack to his right. He managed to guard against the attack, but that was when the trick of his opponent’s weapon kicked in.

Eurachis came at him again, aiming to strike him with the other blade of the lightsaber once again. But Vreem was quick, and was determined to stop his opponent from dominating the flow of this match. In a flash, his emerald blade had moved to block the strike at his left with an explosion of colour. The Jedi Lord pressed on, before this Sith could attack again, he would go on the offensive. He slid half a step forward and with a quick thrust, aimed to pierce Eurachis’ head.

But he expected more from an opponent who could best Rhissai, and anticipated a block, at which point Vreem would freely allow his blade to be knocked away, and then use the momentum and a fast flick of the wrist in order to sweep his blade at Eurachis’ lower leg. However, there was the possibility that he had already underestimated his opponent’s speed. If Vreem’s initiate attack was not blocked, he would have to send out a quick Force push with his free hand.

It would not cause any great deal of damage, or hit with all the strength he could muster, but it would hopefully allow him a moment to prepare himself against any attack thrown his way. There was still much to discover about his opponent, about how he fought, this was still very much a testing time between the two combatants. Whoever understood their opponent first, would walk away with their head.

The strike was quick, decisive...it came with a shrieking sense of urgency. The need to kill. The blade swerved, downwards, blasting red light across the floor as it collided with the humming green blade. He had twisted his body as he landed, and felt the attack hit air; he had missed. Icy cold resolve solidified as a hand jerked on the back end of his double sided blade, shooting it back and around towards Vreem's waist. The dark lord had been expecting the dodge, and came prepared. His blade sung a sweet tune of destiny as it vaulted to Eurachis's left, into the jedi's side---only to be blocked and pushed back in a quick display of speed.

It seemed this jedi, was actually going to prove challenging. In a quick fit of snickering, the dark lord spun again, this time countering the block with a strike on the opposite side. Vreem having been left exposed from the block allowed him to use his weapon's advantage, and attack from both sides quickly. But even this attack met the gaze of that bright green blade. Meeting the blade of his opponent, his own crimson saber bounced backwards and away from the jedi, buying a needed moment of reprieve from the flurry of attacks...and creating an opening for a speedy jab to the face, preceded buy a sweep to the legs.

The clever jedi had used the momentum from the block, as well as the close proximity, to make a tactical strike from inside the body.... an attack that was difficult for Eurachis to block with his double sided saber. He had no choice but to try and evade it. In a burst of speed and pure willpower, he stretched his limits and bent backwards, slinging a hand around behind him, catching the floor with a palm. a mere second after stabilizing himself, Darth Eurachis pulled his legs inwards and up, tumbling him backwards and away from the jedi's attack. As he rolled however, the jedi sprung into action.

A quick thrust of the hand and a sharp wave of energy crashed into the tumbling eurachis. The force push, hard like the trunk of a tree, slammed into crumpled mass of flesh and shot him eight feet backwards in the direction of a wall.

Quickly trying to regain his composure from the blow, the Dark Lord managed to unfurl an arm from his crushed form, and slam it, palm first into the floor, launching him up, allowing him to twist with precision, as was his specialty, in the air, and land on one knee, continuing to slide across the flooring for 2 seconds more. Rising to his full form, he placed the blade at his side, and cracked his neck before reaching up to his lip to wipe away a trickle of blood with the back of his hand.

"huh... ok then. If that's how you wanna play this..." In an arrogant tone, he Turned his gaze to look at the nearest destroyed wall, lifting a slew of debris into the air, and then flinging it all simultaneously. Then he reached out and roared before pulling with as much strength as he could muster on the backside of vreem's legs in an attempt to sweep him flat on his back, and then crush him with stone. As he watched the the marble spring towards its target, he walked slowly forwards with his saber out in front, readying himself for the a counter... This jedi was fast, and to stay one step ahead, he'd need to acknowledge that fact, and plan accordingly.
